Right to repair
You bought it. You own it.
Once youâve paid money for a product, the manufacturer shouldnât be able to dictate how you use it – itâs yours. Ownership means you should be able to open, hack, repair, upgrade, or tie bells on it. But itâs common practice to refuse to make parts, tools, and repair information available to consumers and small repair shops.
Manufacturers have created a monopoly on repair
When there’s only one repair shop around, prices go up and quality goes down. Companies have every incentive to drive up prices and drive down competition. Donât let them. Become part of the iFixit community. Together we can fix the world!

Great set!
Amazing screw driver set using it for all my computer upgrades
A must have for any house.
Simply put, it’s a tool selection that everyone should own.
This kit doesn’t contain 50 flat head screw pieces of various sizes. It’s not that kind of kit.
However, everyone has a tv remote, a clock, toys, or other small electronics. And those little screws? Yeah, try getting in there without the right tools, (without smashing it in frustration).
And what’s this? What the hell kinda screw is that? What kinda tool do I need? I’ve never seen that shape before!
Well, iFixit has, and they put it in this kit.
Thank you iFixi
Very nice kit, but expensive.
After purchasing another, similar kit for half the price, and being unsatisfied with the quality, I decided to get the best. After seeing these kits used by other professionals and reading dozens of reviews, I knew what to expect. However, this kit is not perfect. One minor detail, for example, which other reviews have mentioned, is that the legend printed for each bit really ought to be more obvious. I could suggest other improvements and features, but I’m not disappointed.
Primarily, I just wish that iFixit offered a less expensive 16, 24, or 32 bit set, as I will probably never, or at least rarely, use the majority of these attachments. Their ergonomic and functional design, lifetime warranty, and reputation were why I paid the steep price.
Worth the money
Like the set. Very good handle. Good selection of bits for all applications. Did not find application for flexible extension. I doubt I ever will. Would prefer tweezers or spatula in its place.
Excellent quality. Get what you pay for.
Bought to replace a collection of small screwdrivers which invariably end up separated, lost or missing. All in one place, small neat and tidy. Very well made and feel like quality as soon as you pick up the handle and drop a magnetic bit into the end, perfect, and away you go. Bits are good quality and don’t chip or break in use. Very happy.
I bought this because of Jayz two cents, was it worth it? Yes
So I’m not going to lie, I initially saw the ifixit range on Jayztwocents YouTube channel as part of a sponsored video and thought it was hilarious. But more importantly he did seem to rate the kit.
I was building my first PC and like many wanted a good driver set. So is it any good? Yes it is not quite perfect but very good.
First off the packaging is great and looks so much better than many other products with out being pretentious, I would class it as attractive industrial.
I love the fact theirs no damned hanging hook.
Though I’m not sure how the NdFeB magnets lid attachment method would Hold up in a tool kit. It’ll do just fine in a tool draw getting nocked around with other bits and pieces.
I put the box up on the wall of my room using command tabs, which makes it clean. Maybe the box could do with some slots for another convenient hanging method but I’m good with want I’m going with.
The laser / press cut foam is high quality likely seems like Zotrfoam but I could be wrong, and it should hold the tools for a long time so much better than injection moulded five row holders or blow moulded plastic.
The driver it’s self is well made, the nurling feels right and the blue free spining head is mounted in a quality bearing better than other micro drivers I’ve seen / used. The magnetic attachment seems to work well with a good fit between the bits and the tool body.
I can’t attest to the durability of the bits them selves. They seem to have held out well so far, I think I’ll order another set for work and see how they hold up in a higher use environment. For a hobbyist who wants something nice that’ll last I’d say they’re fine.
The perfect base set for someone who likes doing repairs
Durable, quality tool set for not just professionals. Used it to disassemble laptops, game controllers, car entertainment/radio and many more.
Highly recommend it.
Highly recommend iFixi
I have been looking into a precision toolkit for my PS4 and my MacBook. This set covers it all. Comes in a magnetic case. I’ve already used it on my PS4 and the bits are very magnetized.
Excellent se
Bought to disassemble an iPhone with the usual proprietary screws and fixings found in Apple products, has since been used for many other electronic devices and have found everything needed in it. I do wish it included a couple of plastic spudger like tools, although these are available elsewhere of course.
The design is almost identical to that of the much cheaper Klearlook kit (also available on Amazon) and I expect they’re both made in the same facility, and you’re paying a little more for the brand and the lifetime warranty.
The warranty itself is quite valuable here as unfortunately the bits aren’t quite as well made nor as durable as I might have hoped.
Absolutely awesome
Absolutely love this!
It feels expensive, good quality, every shape screw you could think of! Saw the adds on Linus tech tips and thought I’d get it, am not disappointed! This is awesome! Highly recommend it!
Would reccomend
Amazing little tool kit, if your in the business of of opening up loads of different electronic devices this is the set for you. And depending on what you do they have other sets for more professional use cases Ie repairs ect.
Good so fa
Good so far and fits the most jobs for taking laptops aparts, ifixit have a realy good rep so cannot go wrong, worth every penny and very strong metal handle.
Simply amazing
Has everything you might need for pc building and phone repairs in terms of screwdriver bits. Amazing quality.
Good tool set but its bit expensive
Very good tools set. I would have a given 5 star but the price is bit high. I don’t think it’s value for money becuase there are tool kits available with much less price.
Outstanding bit of kit!
I have spent a fortune down through the years on cheap chinese sets that just don’t hold up. The heads are made of poor quality steel and any force and the heads just dissintegrate making them useless.
So when I decided to build my first PC & after seeing this kit promoted on a lot of review sites, I decided to purchase. I am more than happy. This kit is built to last and super easy to use. There is a great variety of heads for different screw types. They are really well made and it is apparent the second you see them. The included case is awesome and the lid doubles as a screw/fixing sorting tray (Would be nice if it were magnetic).
Do not be decieved. I bought a set that looks alost identical to the Ifixit one but it is not the same. The quality is not there. I intend to buy a few more Ifixit products in the very near future. If you need a set that will last and to be honest, great value, then look no furhter than Ifixit.
Great for cleaning PS4 and more
This precision bit was great and very useful for opening up the inside of my PS4, would recommend if looking to open up and clean your PS4, console or PC.
Very handy
Well made with a very good assortment of bits. The brand is well known to me due to many of the YouTube tech channels I subscribe to singing their virtues. I wish I wasn’t so easily manipulated, but in this case, they are not wrong. A really handy set for small to medium jobs (for my case, building and upgrading computers, and other small electronics).
Professional toolki
After trying several cheaper kits to mend an i-Phone, this was the only one that that was successful – all the others the Y000 driver stripped after 1 or 2 screws. The set is very solid, professionally made, lot of accessories that will last a long time. Magnetised to make picking up those tiny screws easier. Yes – its expensive – but the quality is there.
👍🏼
Just received it today and it looks amazing
Such a great kit to own and the quality looks perfec
Perfect toolkit for day to day use.
Very useful toolkit, I haven’t come across a screw type or lock in type that this toolkit cannot deal with.
Versatile and robust, definitely a must have for anyone who does precision DIY from computing to fixing toys.
The tools retainer has information about the bit but look carefully
I wrote a comment about identifying the individual bits in the toolkit.
Having looked carefully at the tool bit holder, the part description is written on there (black on black so easy to miss).
Having seen that, I recommend that care be taken to always replace the bits in their original position after use.
Not the cheapest but a great set of tools.
Good kit for your DIY electronic repair projects. Has pretty much every driver bit you will need and the company provide really handy guides on how to make common repairs on their website.
Well made tools and the carry case is hard wearing and ties the package together.
Finally a good one!
Great set. Magnetic cover and you can use that cover to store your screws while all is apart. Bits are strong and magnetic and good quality.
expensive but worth i
Is on the expensive side but I got fed up of buying cheaper sets and having the bits round off, also longer than cheap sets so get recessed screws ou
Only kit you’ll need
As an occasional fixer of electronics this kit is absolutely perfect. Everything catered for bar the specialist tools such as iPhone screwdrivers etc.
It’s perfect for working on laptops/desktops/toys etc
So useful and can't believe I haven't bought soone
This kit is really helpful and I cannot believe I have only just bought it. The ‘primary’ tool is really comfortable and well-made, with a very clean-spinning which freely turns in your hand as you screw/unscrew. The ‘secondary’ tool is a flexible one, which allows you to reach screws in awkward places. The detachable pieces are set out well and easy to grab.
Pretty much spot o
Lovely solid and weighty feel to the driver. The top of the driver rotates freely without feeling wobbly.
Nicely organised tray. Bits feel solid. I’ve only had it a few weeks, so can’t speak of durability.
The bit organiser is easily accessible and each bit is labelled both on its slot and etched into the bit itself.
The lid is held on pretty securely by magnets and has a grid pattern to help organise screws.
I think it seems to be worth the extra cost over other sets if you can afford it.
Compact and useful
I love it. Really works and it’s worth. I thought it won’t be good when i saw it to be promoted by linus back then on youtube. From reviews here i decided to order and it’s really good. I like it and will definetly recommend it!
Pleased with purchase
Have been used daily with no issues, has handled everything thrown at it, quality of the bits seem very good so very pleased with my purchase overall
Great produc
I am very pleased with the kit. Just writing this review to reinforce all the rest positive reviews for it because it deserves it.
Must buy
Honestly JayzTwoCents didn’t overreact, fixed my cars engine with this.
Jokes aside, this is a must have if you’re looking at taking electronics apart. I needed screwdrivers for my pc and I saw JayzTwoCents promote these a while ago, thought I’d try it out and it’s really good, quality bits and a flexible extension for those tight areas. 10/10
Quality beyond belief
I have tried many precision screwdrivers before and have been disappointed. They were all screwdrivers though, never screwdriver + bit sets. Hence this time I had (almost) decided to go for a Wera or Bahco set, to close this issue for ever.
Fortunately, I changed my mind at the last minute due to sheer number of 5 star review this one has. My concerns for a bit set was that with bits, it’s not really a screwdriver, lacks to solidity. But this set proved me wrong.
The bit base is long, and the magnet is very strong. Once you put a bit in, the bit and driver are one. The cap can be fixed and rest of the body rotates for fast work, the grip is supreme.
It comes with a flex screwdriver too in which you can load the bits to reach hard-to-access places.
The solidity of each bit and the machined screwdriver is astonishing. If all of this is not enough, this unit comes in the best screwdriver case ever. It is strong, good-looking, well-made, and has strong magnetic locks.
Just go for it – it won’t let you down.
Get good tools
I found out that every time I buy nice things for my hobbies, I ended up always using a cheap set of precision screw driver bits whic was awful.
It does not make sense: you spend money on things, sometime a lot of money, to then assemble, repair, touch them with a 5 bits set, ruining screws in the worst cases.
Spend money on your tools.
This box seems good, with nice bits, well made, and a nice magnetic box.
I didn’t realise that when you open it, the lid works also as a screw organiser (you can use all the square boxes to place your different screws before mounting them back!).
We will see how long it will last with me happy
Quality tools
To be honest I was a bit apprehensive about the quality and finish of the bits judging by the photos, but was pleasantly surprised with the overall quality. Everything fits well, there’s no wobble anywhere (nothing that would affect the performance at least), and it has every bit you’d probably need. Glad that I decided to go for this set, instead of some other cheaper sets available. I love good tools, and this one didn’t disappoint. Recommend without reservations.
OMG
his product it awesome, so pleased got a good quality one and not a sub 10 set, fixed 150 fitbit in under 10 mins
Perfect for gadgets and tech
Perfect for all little tinkerings and electrical works. This is perfect for anyone wanting to open up most electronic items, with 99% of tools you would need to do it.
Great build quality and awesome case too.
Waited a long time, I am not disappointed! Handle a bit small.
I have wanted one of these for a while, having owned the first generation Pro Tech Toolkit for sometime. The item comes in a well made, nice plastic case with magnetic patches. The set of bits seems comprehensive and should allow you to open most electronic item screws.
I only wish the handle was a bit better… minor criticism but it is hard to hold in large hands but still a significant improvement on the metal handled one in the Pro Tech Toolkit.
I would recommend the item for the very reasonable price I paid on Amazon.
Comprehensive se
This a good little set of driver bits for dealing with phones and laptops and similar electronics.
This isn’t top quality but it’s not bad, and it’s not like you need heavy duty tools for this kind of work. The driver handle is pretty nice though.
The box is neat, and the lid holds together with magnets and it doubles as a container for screws as you take them out.
I use this more than other more expensive tools just because everything is all there in one box. It’s a good set to have around.
Excellent tool ki
Everything you need (almost) to repair or upgrade your own technology. The only thing I found this was missing was a “spudger” (a little plastic device used in iFixit teardown to pry things open). Fortunately, I had a plastic flathead screwdriver I was able to use so this was not an issue
Good quality, handy toolki
Very good build quality, easy to use as driver is thick enough to get a good grip. More bit sizes than you’ll probably ever need.
Can’t fault it.
I purchased this toolkit to upgrade the RAM in my 2018 Core i5 Mac mini. The unit was getting incredibly hot when updating the photo library (40,000+ images), and after OS-X Catalina update and the plethora of issues I suffered it just got worse and worse. RAM usage was showing at 5.5Gb so I thought there was plenty of RAM left for general tasks, but now the unit was 12 months old and effectively out of warranty period I decided to upgrade the RAM as I couldn’t do any harm. On Apple’s website it states this is a service centre only task on the latest machines, if you have any sense of logic, mechanical sympathy, and patience trust me, it’s not a difficult job as there are plenty of online guides.
I got my toolkit out from my old MacMini that I’d bought from iFixit and low and behold the first 6 bolts I encounter have security heads which aren’t in my old kit. I found a bespoke MacMini RAM upgrade toolkit on Amazon for about 16, but it only has 3 tools in it. This comprehensive kit at 29 makes much more sense as it’s got your bases covered for so much more. One day later it arrived, and I’m pleased to report it’s really decent quality.
So I stripped the Mac down in about 10 minutes which wasn’t hard. Put the screws/bolts in a labelled box to help with reassembly, the hardest part is getting the logic board out which required a bit of a shove, but there are no more than 12 or so screws/bolts to remove to get to the RAM.
Ensure when seating the RAM you push it until you hear a positive clicking sound and it will go no further. It seats at 45 degrees on the board so don’t try and push it beyond this.
Re-assembly wasn’t hard, the hardest part was re-seating the wifi antenna cable & accompanying screw. I used the plastic Uspudger from my old Mac mini kit, but any thin plastic pry bar with a flat end would do.
Ever since completing the upgrade even with minimal tasks my Mac mini has been using 7-10Gb of RAM so there is clearly RAM throttling going on when using 8Gb as it was using 5Gb for the same tasks previously. The highest use I’ve seen to date is 12Gb with quite a few apps open (Photo/Music/Safari/Mail). If you do a lot of video editing in 4K I strongly recommend considering 32Gb upgrade (2×16 as there are only 2 slots), or you ca choose to max out at 64Gb (32×2).
Overall the upgrade has been very beneficial, but the toolkit made it an absolute breeze. The bits are solid, don’t round off, and if they are anything like the old kit which I’ve had since 2011 it will be a great investment that I’ve already used on for other jobs on an Acer desktop and an Alienware Laptop. I only ended up using 3 of the attachments in the Mac mini TR6 / T5 / T10, but I strongly recommend you search for the plastic spudger kit (you can get 2 for 1.50) to go with it as it makes the electrical connectors far easier to remove.
Excellent tools, badly labled
Top notch, great quality tools for gadget repairs.
Got just about everything you could want.
The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that the labelling to tell you what type/size tool you want to use is incredibly difficult to see. It would be much better to have clear labelling for each of the tools.
Apart from that, absolutely brillia
Handy little toolki
Reason why I’ve given this 4 stars is because it needs to have a plastic tool, which was required when I was trying to prise the battery out from the stubborn adhesive. Using anything metal can puncture the battery resulting in having to purchase a new battery. Otherwise it’s a handy little toolkit.
Good kit, works well for its purpose
Quality bit of kit, comes with everything you could imagine and saved me several times. It works, it’s portable and most importantly it feels like itll las
Amazing se
I bought this kit originally as I was needing to take apart my PS4 Pro as it had security screws. But I have also afterwards used this kit for other various things too. Top quality!
Well designed, quality.
Fantastic range of bits, driver, the box doubles as a screw holder, closure is magnetic, a very well designed and high quality complete set. I just took apart and reassembled my MacBook Pro and XFX 5700XT graphics card to change the thermal paste, done and done.
Thumbs up
After a few months of use repairing things like computers and household appliances, I am very pleased with my purchase. Perhaps I should get the prying tools as well…
High quality and comprehensive driver ki
This 64 bit set really does cover everything you could need for opening electronic devices of all kinds, from phones to cameras to computers. I bought this set for replacing the hard drive in a Mac Mini but it also means I’ll be able to replace the various cheap screwdrivers I’ve accumulated over the years from phone battery kits and the like, and use these much higher quality bits instead. The high quality steel means the bits are much more precise, so providing a better fit, and minimising the chance of stripping even the tiniest of screws.
A bargain for the money, to be honest!
Slight play with seating of bits! But overall worth the money!
The product overall is very good and much better quality than others I have used. it has a couple of aspects that need looking into at a manufacturing level which will ne spoken about shortly. The box is great and keeps everything well organized. The lid also acts as storage with a number of squares for placing your nuts and bolts in.
The bits them selfs are a seem to be slightly on the cheap side, as the machining of the parts could have been better. This doesnt effect the use of the tool as yet. But could be a problem if a larger amount of torque is applied. The actual fitting of the bit to the driver is also on the loose side, giving a slight play before the bit actually starts to drive the bolt in or out.
Over all I would buy this product again 🙂
Quality
Very good quality tools and a perfect selection for most things you would need, especially when dealing with small electronics. Even has the correct tools for modding vintage Gameboys – which is what I have used it for.
Pricey, but worth it!
I rarely write reviews for products, but I’ve had these for a few months now and I really wish I bought it years ago!
I stripped so many small torx screws with my cheap driver set, but I always blamed cheap screws; it turns out it was the drivers!
This was able to rescue screw I was about to drill out and it was effortless. The driver feels good in the hand and if I care for it I think this set will last me the rest of my life.
High quality as always from iFixi
Incredible tool to have around the house and the office. I had a NAS with a stripped screw that I could not undo with any other screwdriver, one of the bits handled it with ease and I thankfully did not have to drill any of my screws. Would recommend iFixit as always, especially at this price range it’s incredible the product they provide and how it is always great quality.
Almost everything you might need
Really good quality, well packed and with a good choice of bits. Check what you want it for and what other items you may require.
Very Useful bit of ki
I bought this kit to repair my daughters coffee machine as I needed a special bit that I could only fined in this kit I found Several other useful bits within this that you don’t usually get in most other kits, really, really pleased with this.
Good - but which bit is which?
I bought these to replace a cheap set. They looked Ok but I found that the material was of lesser quality and a Torx 4mm bit (which is small) failed to reliably move screws in a mobile phone. The bit from this set did so without a problem. This is early days to judge durability but I feel confident of these.
However I am disappointed in the way the bits are identified in the holder tray. The place markings are barely visible. Once you have used them a few times no doubt memory will help but the poor markings are a let-down for an otherwise very well packaged set.
High Quality driver and bit set, perfect for home repair.
I have been looking for a quality driver and but set for a while and have been looking at ifix it tools for a while. This set was great value for money and has a lot of options in terms of bits. The driver handle is great quality and a nice weight. The box is nice and the lid is useful as a screw storage whilst working on the fiddly stuff this is intended for. The only thing I have an issue with is the bit label information could have been a different colour to the foam storage as it’s difficult to see it.
Great kit for anyone.
I have nothing really negative to say about this product (I can’t speak of the longevity just yet as it’s still very new).
-Handle feels solid and is designed cleverly to allow you to operate efficiently. The magnetised handle is useful most of the time but there are times where it is actually an inconvenience.
-The selection of the variety of bits is very well thought out. There hasn’t been a scenario (yet) where I have needed one the set doesn’t include. I have used it to disassemble phones, build pcs, desks and others.
-The lid of the casing doubles up as a screw holder allowing for better organisation of screws.
Only drawback is that I feel it is slightly overpriced.
Having said that iFixit are a known reputable brand and are known for their quality products. There aren’t many other kits available on amazon that offer the same features as this that are from other reputable brands.
The tech tubers are right!
Having struggled with old tool for a whole and trying to make do, I was watching Jayz2cents, Pauls hardware and linus you tech tuners use these and rate them.
So I pulled the trigger as I wanted to dismantle some old HDDs to destroy the media discs (you simply can not trust any formatting on HDD). I have used the tool kit since to repair a S4 and a fan controller. The range of bits is great and the screw driver handle is great.
Excellent.
Excellent. Comes with every head you could think of. Can’t see myself needing another kit. Good materialw, case and they have a lifetime guarantee I belive.
£26 but worth it.
There is a tool for so many repairs. I got this to open up my MacBook Air 2015 and it’s breeze to use. The magnetic connection is a real confidence booster when you’re dealing with tiny tiny screws. It works a dream, so although it seems like a lot of money, it is a quality bit of kit and gives you a sense of reassurance that you don’t get with cheaper things that could simply not work because they have cut costs so much that you end up wrecking the screw head before you’ve started your repair job. Pay a bit more and feel confident.
Premium product, reliable.
This is the set you have to have. Just perfect tools. After almost year of usage — still perfect condition.
I did use cheap competitive products, 2-4 times cheaper, but how you can rely on tool if it cracks when you need it the most. In first days of use. Never again cheap Chinese tools for a few where with the low price you have risk of damage yourself or device you want to repair as a bonus.
ok
I know its overadvertised by Linus, but I love it too. I have not found a screw or a bolt that I cannot open with all those bits, and I even used the flexi twice. Its great, only bad tihng is that sponge to hold the bits will accumulate dust etc, also its a foam so one day after few years it will degrade and turn into a pulp, so you can 3d print yourself a carier instead.
Life save
This kit is a life saver. I’d wrecked some of the heads on my laptop SSD tray when doing a swap out (using the wrong size screwdriver), ordered this from Amazon, and it arrived same day, and not only had all the right bits, but was able to help me recover from my previous error, and get the laptop sorted.
Also good to note, is the casing isn’t cheap, it’s very well designed, and uses strong magnets to hold it together. You can use the top as a screw tray, and I guess you can stack these, if iFixit does the same size products.
Great set of precision screwdrivers
Set has all one would need from precision screwdriver set, however there are still few things to improve. As other mentioned extension shaft doesn’t have magnet in it which seems totally illogical decision. Secondly, the finish quality of some tiny bits are still not quite perfect – this being more premium set I would expect all the bits to be cut and finished to the highest standard. The advantage over similar “chinese” sets is that steel used for bits is far better quality and properly hardened so you won’t twist or chip the bits. The handle is very well made, sadly it is slightly too short in my ~above average size hands. Probably 30mm longer and it would be just perfect.
Amazing Quality!
In terms of quality, it is superb i have never used anything better. Is it worth it? Yes it is, i expect that this set could be passed on to the next generation! The only issue i see with it is the magnetism on the tips, it fits perfectly fine but using it to pick up screws it does not work as well but that could be fixed if u manually magnetize the tips yourself. But all in all it is a very good product and i would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a screwdriver kit.
Nice quality produc
Nice quality product,
But the 150 mm Flex Extension and the 1/4″ to 4 mm Driver Adapter leave the product down.
the 150 mm Flex Extension end and the 1/4″ to 4 mm Driver Adapter end to receive don thave the end quality of a hold of the bit as the Main Aluminum Bit Driver, very poor bit will fall out.
Great quality and various bits to suit anyone working on pc's etc
Great little kit. You can feel they are quality and were great to use when stripping down my graphics card to fit a cooler to it….Definitely recommended.
As expected very good
Every small tool for computer you need. Arrived in 3 days well packed. My only annoyance is the tool indicator on the foam insert is impossable to read(see pciture). So trial and error when trying to select the right tool but a minor issue. I love Ifixit stuff.
I didn't expect I needed everything
I recommend these a lot, even if you think you might not need a lot of the bits.
When I first looked at it, it was just a bit more expensive than other kits and all I really needed was an assortment of Phillip screwdrivers, but everything I got in the box turned out useful in the end.
I really like the design and manufacturing quality of it: it is amazingly robust, you can take it anywhere, and the squares on the back can act as really useful screw holders. Also the magnetic closing design really makes using it easier.
Great screw drive kit for a guy who takes things apart for a hobby.
I have had this kit for around 2 months ish and so far I’ve taken apart my laptop about 7 times ish as I have had some bad luck with my acer nitro 5 ( don’t recommend this laptop its a cheap P.O.S) , my 2011 refurbished mac book pro I’ve had for 2 years to replace the thermal compound , and a phone. Ever time I have used this it feels really good in the hand and the swivel top makes taking out the 13 screws on the back of my acer to pop the bottom of the case bearable. The bits have withstand me using them as pry tools pretty forcefully and none have broken yet. My only issue is that when a bit is in the top it will not slide around and not screw anything like a crap screwdriver but their is a bit of a wiggle and it isn’t an exact fit I hope this is changed in the future. do recommend this.
The downsides i found while using it:
* It’s hard to see notes of the bits as they are not printed in different colour
* Magnetic cover could have magnets on the biggest part to be able to hold screws (like a magnetic mat), now magnets only holds cover in it’s place
* bits are non standard, to can be used only with ifixit tools
* There are cheaper solution that gives you the same stuff, not sure about the durability of those. Will update my review after some time (to see how it hold)
Very High Quality, non-magnetized extensio
This is a very good screwdriver kit, the bits and screwdriver are of a very high quality. I’ve used it to disassemble my laptop and to build a PC.
The only slight annoyance is that the tip of the flexible extension is not magnetized, hence it wouldn’t be difficult to lose one of the bits when using i
None other like i
This kit is a must have for anyone who takes electronic apart on a regular basis or if you need the tools for fixing old controllers, laptop, keyboard or even putting together a new computer. Everything about the fixing and driver along with the case is just premium.
I bought this kit as I needed to disassembly a Mac Mini and needed a special torx driver. This kit is probably the best purchase I’ve made recently! Not only the build quality is amazing (the tools themselves but also the packaging and the box containing everything) but the amount of “specialty driver bits” it has is amazing. You can basically open any “patented” screw you find on house appliances.
I am absolutely thrilled about how well this product has been designed and not long after I bought it I watched a video with Linus Tech tips and he was using the same kit. Just shows that people in IT and other fields appreciate a good toolkit.
Overall I’m very impressed with the product and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!
Well worth i
Excellent kit, I’ve used it for a few things already, and I go to it first for any tech needed opening and so far it has all that I’ve needed.A little bit more expensive than others out there and though I have not tried them all, I will say that this is well worth the extra cost for the great bit tool and quality bits and practically all you need for opening up your devices for whatever reason.Opened my 27″ iMac down to the CPU and had all the bits required,A must have if you like to upgrade your own devices or repair/investigate etc.
I don’t think I’ll ever need to buy a new screwdriver agai
Every device I own needs a different screwdriver for every screw, so I took a chance ordering this to see if it could fit my needs.
It definitely does! The build quality is great and the selection of bits you get are way more than I’ll probably ever need! I don’t think I’ll ever need to buy another driver again!!!
Great quality and value
I needed some specific drivers to replace the drive in my 2014 Mac Mini. Most other sets listed were incomplete, or looked doubtful as to whether the correct bit was even in there, had reviews suggesting they were not hardened and would wear down, or were just obviously cheap and nasty.
Not so with the iFixit kit – having done the open-heart surgery on my Mac as soon as the drivers arrived, the bits are accurately made and had no signs of slippage in the screw heads. Perfect fit. The case holds every piece in place firmly, and the magnetically-closing lid doubles as a gridded tray to hold and organise the screws you’ve taken out. The handle has a good weighty feel, the bits snap in magnetically but don’t get stuck. The only improvement I would make is to print the bit sizes on the case rather than embossing them, to make them easier to read. All in all, though, well worth the money as this kit literally should be the only one I’ll ever need.
Everything you might need!
This has been my go to tools since I have bought it. I have a full tool cabinet which is now is disuse because of this little kit.
The kit itself is made very well. All the fitments are solid and robust. I have unscrewed some really tight parts recently which have killed cheaper screw drivers in the past but not these!
Awesome micro bit se
Very comfortable and solid driver. Great selection of useful bits. There are two things I dislike: the case it should be completely flat so it can stack, rather than having a curve / slant on the top and the markings of the bits in the case should be white so I can see them. They are so dark that I cannot see them at all.
The magnets that hold the case closed work much better than the wooden case, I guess because this plastic case is so much lighter. The magnets actually do something here, unlike in the large wooden case I have. Overall, I love this set. So nice to use the bit driver, unlike others I have purchased that look similar. Great value.
And it come with a lifetime guarantee!
Nice and solid set, really impressed with almost all of it except for the 1.5 hex bit which has a manufacturing defect, will update if/when seller follows up.
only thing that would be nice in my opinion would be if the tool part/size that has been etched into the foam were highlighted.
update: replacement bit arrived after approx a week, increased by a sta
Best kit I've bough
Not a cheap kit by any means BUT you can tell straight away that it’s a quality kit. I fix and mod phones and consoles and my current kit didn’t have the proper size bit to take apart the Nintendo Switch so started to look around for either the bit I needed or a new kit. Looking around at reviews, i-Fix it kept coming up a decent set so I started looking into them. Excellent reviews so I bought one. It was cheaper direct from i-Fixit via Amazon than straight from i-Fixit themselves as they are based overseas.
When I need a kit, I’ll definitely be looking at what they have when the time comes.
Top quality, I have had a few bits and pieces over the years and decided it was time to get a proper set. This is by far the best kit I have bought. the case is very handy for putting the screws in and keeping them sorted while working . The bits are very well made and work as designed. The driver is light yet sturdy and everything in the box (including the box) has been well thought out. Worth your money! it will save time and stress. If your thinking about get a new set get this one!
Very pleased to have received my iFixit 64 bit kit today. I needed the “Y” security bits to replace my MacBook Trackpad. It seems to be a well made, well thought out box of tricks. The screwdriver has a lovely feel to it, with a beautifully smooth rotating palm tip, possibly bearings, not sure. Nicely engineered case too, with four Magnet (one on each corner) closure, and thoughtful, raised crosshatching inside the lid to contain and separate your removed screws, how wonderful I thought. I took out the flexi extension, popped it into the screwdriver, I then inserted a bit and inverted the whole thing to simulate poking it down into the commonly deeply recessed security screws on most gadgets, ….. and stuff me, if the bit didn’t fall out of the extension. What the …… !! I could not believe that they had scrimped on one tiny crucial magnet up inside the spout of the extension tube end after putting four in the freakin’ lid. HELLO! if you were worried about the extra millionth of a Yen in production costs, … you could have put one of the four lid magnets centrally at one end, forming a triangle, and used the other in the extension. Sorry Mr Mako, …. one STAR withheld! In order to keep you from a Three Stars rating, you will note that I didn’t even go near the fact that you can’t see the BLACK on BLACK Identification marks of each bit on the foam insert, Otherwise, a Great Product….. 🙁
Ideal set, would paying extra for in long ru
Great set of tools. I tried several other cheaper sets which sadly just weren’t made well enough but this one did the jobs nicely. Have changed out the battery in MacBook Pro 2009 and fixed a hearing aid so far. The heads were excellent fits and there was no issue with the heads shearing as there were on the cheaper ones. Very pleased and would recommend
Great little ki
Great little kit, I’ve used it for lots of little screws as well as for an iPhone battery replacement (no other tools except a plastic opener tool and a suction cup required).
Very high quality, not like the cheap screwdriver bit kits I’ve encountered. Screwdriver body is all metal and has a rotating end to make it easier to turn.
I’m slightly concerned about how well the foam with holes for the bits holds up over time, I’ll update this review if there are any problems.
Brilliant screwdriver set which has met my expectations.
The screwdriver is precision engineered, turns smoothly in the hand and allows a good grip.
The extension is well made, but sadly not magnetic. The friction based clicking in of bits is good and keeps them secured in place. This helps to prevent accidental droppage of said bits into recesses, but it doesn’t prevent the screws from dropping! The solution to this is purchasing a magnetiser/demagnetiser.
The case is fantastic. The lid secures itself quite well using 4 magnets either as a lid or beneath. It also allows you to store screws and bits neatly whilst working on something; simple and effective. The downside is that the engraved markings may be harder to see for some, but are superior to printed markings which do eventually wear off.
However, the customer service offered by iFixit EU leaves a lot to be desired; unhelpful and borderline rude, at least in my case when I asked a question about the warranty and whether I could purchase the textile wrap separate (you can in the USA). I don’t know whether the iFixit guarantee is worth its weight in salt, they’re very vague on the subject and don’t list RMA times. Due to this, I have resorted to purchasing equally good bits and a backup from a rival (S2 bits / Oria), which for less than half the price of this iFixit set is extremely good value.
Was really questioning weather this woold be better than the other brands here but after using it ...
Was really questioning weather this woold be better than the other brands here but after using it on my moto g4 torx 3 screws you could feel the precise engage of the tip and did not slip once. Compared the tips to my wiha screwdriver they are not too far apart to the eye. Definitely go for this and you will not be sorry
Very good kit!
Kit kit has very good construction quality, looks and feels professional.
Compact and aesthetically pleasing.
The bits might get a little bit of rust if you live in zone with high humidities. But you can always take care by cleaning and oiling them.
Used in smartphones, laptops and my own car.
I wish I hadn't wasted so much money over the years on rubbish sets.
This is a really nice set and has all the bits I’ll ever need I should think. The magnetic-closing case is excellent, the bits are nicely machined and sit firmly in the quality foam insert (but not so firm that I have to wrestle them out), and the solid alloy handle with the ball-bearing spinner is gorgeous. There’s room in the case for a few guitar picks of various thicknesses that I use to pry my laptops open, and that is everything I need in one small case.
Excellent quality, great selection of bits and well thought out - even down to the design of the case
This is an excellent precision screwdriver set. I wanted to replace the trackpad on my old MacBook but typically Apple had used two different Y-point screws for which I didn’t have the screwdrivers. Whilst these particular screwdrivers can be found and purchased individually from a few places, this whole set was much better value and probably much higher quality too. It also means I can now sell a couple of smaller precision screwdriver sets I have as this kit means I now have everything I need in one place.
The magnetic lid closure is great for easy opening and the screw sorting tray just shows how well thought out the kit is. I expect the flexible extension might also come in useful at some point. One very minor niggle – why a SIM eject bit is included is anyone’s guess – that job can easily be fulfilled by a paper clip and there could instead be an additional size screwdriver.
Quality ki
I originally bought this just for the nut bit, to remove standoffs in a PC case.
I’m pleased with this set, the whole kit feels solid. It does the job as you’d expect, with a bonus of the screw heads being magnetic so you can easily lift removed screws out. I’ve decided to use this kit in place of a bulkier old screwdriver for most situations.
The case is also magnetic so you can just rest the top half on the lower one to secure it. Just don’t exert too much force on one half of the container since you could cause them to separate. I made this mistake, but the foam securely held the driver and all of the bits.
One final thing to keep in mind if you’re buying this for standoff installation/removal, is to not use the biggest nut bits first. You could get the standoff stuck in the bit like I did. I managed to remove it without much difficulty, but it did require a pair of pliers!
I bought this after having previously purchased a similar kit ...
I bought this after having previously purchased a similar kit at a much lower price which wasn’t able to remove some fairly worn pentalobe screws from a MacBook Pro case. I’m not knocking the lower priced kit, it was reasonable quality for the money but when dealing with the screws at these tiny sizes the quality of the metal in the screwdriver is clearly very important. There were 5 screws (of 10 on the back of the MacBook) that the cheaper kit couldn’t remove. The P5 bit in the iFixit kit removed them first time.
Generally speaking the kit is of a higher quality than previous kits I’ve owned and is very well packaged.
If there is one thing I believe its worth spending money on its tools; good quality tools. And its hard to find better than iFixit. I’ve used their products for years for casual repair of all sorts of things from smartphones and tablets to laptops and TV’s.
The finish and quality of the driver and the bits is excellent and, as of yet, I’ve never been stuck for the correct bit. Even the micro Philips heads and torque heads are sturdy and don’t deform or chip during use.
The kit is I think built primarily for smartphone and tablet repair but I’ve found it indispensable on laptops and larger tech.
Even the box is useful with its strong magnetic clasps and compartmentalised lid for keeping different screws separate.
It really is hard to fault this product as it works brilliantly weather you’re a professional or amateur techie.
great ki
With lots of reviews of cheaper variants i thought i’d bite the bullet and get this slightly more expensive set from IFixit as i needed to carry out a repair on my macbook. As a mechanical engineer i am using various tools daily, this whole kit is great quality , much better than i expected, driver body is very nicely made and has a great feel , nice weight , feels really good quality , the bits themselves appear to fit wel so far although as others have mentioned the P2 pentalobe is a little sloppy it still undid all the fasteners with no issues and doesnt show any wear or particular softness. All in all very happy considering the relatively low price.
Best Tool Kit I've Owned
Firstly this isn’t the cheapest toolkit and you can get a similar amount of bits for much less, but don’t let that put you off purchasing this product.
From the case to the driver to each bit, the build quality is fantastic and much better than I expected.
The driver is magnetized (but not too much) and the top of the case is useful for sorting screws. I work in the surveillance industry so I am mostly using the torx bits but have used the flathead and philips bits too, everything has been very easy to use.
I have no doubt that I will still have this in 5 years so if you divide the price by how long you can expect to own this all of a sudden it seems great value.
I love these tools.
I love these tools. My confidence and ability to fully disassemble tech has gone through the roof.
They also have a great list of servicing and fixing manuals on their site.
The first job I did was fully disassemble my graphics card, clean the heat sync and redo the thermal paste. Has given my 3 yo card a new lease of life.
The 6 months more it will keep up with games and the cost of cards dropping over this time means it’s paid for itself.
They’re so good I ended up buying a second set for an IT friends Christmas gift. He was complaining about the work supplied tools being rubbish
Solid and well buil
I really didn’t expect the item to be of such high quality! The driver base is solid and feels great, the bit seem solid and well made and the box design is really handy. I don’t really do reviews but this one impressed me. I only wanted the TR6 for a Mac mini SDD upgrade but glad I have a very comprehensive set of bits!
Great quality kit, highly recommended
Really excellent quality driver kit. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this. The bits and the driver feel very high quality and the case and foam insert that holds the bits is also of a high standard. I was pleased by the grid layout of the lid as it’s perfect for holding little screws while you take something apart.
Before I ordered it I thought perhaps 29.99 was a bit steep to purchase drill bits but honestly this is excellent value and I can tell these will hold up for years to come.
I can strongly recommend the purchase of this iFixit 64 bit kit.
I was originally looking for just two screwdrivers, a Pentalobe P5 and a Torx T6 (or TR6), in order to open a MacBook Air and remove the SSD.
It soon became apparent that the vast majority of the items for sale on ebay (just don’t even think of going there) and elsewhere were of very poor quality.
Some users reported that their screwdrivers only managed to undo 3 or 4 screws before being “chewed-up” or breaking. I would have been throwing my money away.
I looked at several reviews for the various iFixit screwdrivers and kits. All the reviews, including those on Amazon UK, were overwhelmingly positive.
I could see no point in buying cheap and keeping my fingers crossed.
Two proverbs sprang to mind:
1. Buy cheap, buy twice.
2. Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten.
I did think of buying just two screwdrivers, but then I thought that for a few extra pounds I could have a complete kit which should include every bit type and size known to man.
I can only reiterate what the other Amazon UK customers have said, namely that this iFixit 64 bit set is of very high quality and worth every penny.
The included case is a work of art. Every bit is clearly marked. The top is secured by 4 button magnets at the corners. Removing the top and inverting it creates a handy tray to keep track of tiny screws. An utterly brilliant design!
Do not even think of buying an inferior product, regardless of its apparently attractive price, because the chances are that you will be severely disappointed.
Very high quality, precision formed bits in a beautifully robust package
The bits are precisely formed (no mushy edges, a common issue with cheaper kits), the driver is study and robust and the packaging is beautiful.
The casing is thick and heavy and snaps together magnetically (the four dots at the corners are small neodymium magnets). The top half of the casing has a plastic grid moulded into it to act as a part sorting tray while working on projects – ingenious.
An absolute pleasure to use.
I bought these to replace an expensive (double the price, half the number of bits) Beta precision toolkit after the bits became brittle over a short period. I can say without a doubt that the iFixit kit seems much better quality. I had hoped that a company like iFixit, with such a stellar reputation, would have used high quality suppliers (why risk the reputation of the website by putting your name on crappy products?) and I’m pleased to see they did. I’m genuinely looking for some other iFixit bits and pieces to add to my work bench (the magnetised dry-wipe project mat looks neat).
The one tiny issue is that the one of the holes in the foam that hold the bits is too small, so it looks like the bit has just been jammed in there. The rest all sit in perfect little rows, but the 1/4″ to 4mm bit is really loose in the tray and just trying to escape.
