After having printed and using my own for spool holder for a year, I decided to look for a sturdier and more robust product.

I finally decided to go with this and have zero regrets. Highly recommended

    Updated review:

The silk white clogs like crazy. It may have been a faulty spool or not, but the silver variant seems to work without any problems.

Works well on my Monoprice Voxel, and printed well at my preferred settings. This is more of a transparent amber with sparkles than a Gold, strictly speaking, but I like the color anyway and it will work well for the projects I have in mind for it.

I have been printing for over a year now and have tried various brands of PLA and PETG. Most filaments I have printed with work fine for the most part. I found printing with the gold colour of the PLA filament free of any major problems. The filament is well-packaged, and prints well. It did not string or make any popping sounds to indicate any sign of moisture. The product description indicates that the filament is dried prior to being sealed and shipped and I think that process seems to be working very well.

For print settings, I used my regular PLA profile and printed at 200 c with a bed temperature of 60 c. I didn’t have to make any major tweaks and I found that my initial test printed with no issues.

I really like the colours that iMetrx is offering. Something I get bored of using the same colours for filament and like a little variety. The colour selection that’s being offered is diverse and the price for a kilogram of filament is reasonable.

Overall, I will be purchasing more rolls of this filament in the future. I was happy with the trouble-free results I was able to get using a regular factory setting 3d printer from Amazon. Definitely a good option as far as filaments go.

In actuality, awesome is an understatement. True, I am still new to 3d printing, however, I have printed a lot and have used a lot of rolls so far that I am testing from different companies. I have only used the gold from this company, but I can guarantee from now on all my filament will be from these guys.

It works well between 190 and 215 degrees. I have my heated bed set for 70 degrees on initial layer and 50 after and it sticks very well unlike a few other brands. The colour is consistent throughout the whole print. Loading and unloading it was very easy. With one of the colour changes I made the mistake of pulling the end off the roll with it going under the filament beside it. Instead of it gripping and snagging as it was printing it still fed smoothly throughout the print. That is impressive as I figured it would break or snag.

The detail I was able to achieve with this filament is better than others I have used. They did well on this one. They gave me a free 2.2 lb. coil of their filament and gained a customer for life.

    This Stuff is Awesome

I’m a big fan of silk PLA, I personally find it always has a nicer finish and a look that I enjoy. I followed the temp settings provided and used my usual settings for general/silk PLA and it worked well. I had no issues.

While the colour is very orange for gold, it’s definitely true to how it’s shown here, so if you go by the picture you won’t have problems. It’s roughly the same price point and quality as others like this I’ve used, so I’m really happy with it.

One thing I really like is that the spool is really strong. I’ve had spools shatter in transit before and this one is really sturdy and very reusable. Overall, it’s just a great filament with a lovely finish.

    Nice finish

    My specs:
Ender 3 Pro with bed spring upgrade. Otherwise stock parts
    Cura slicer. Relatively stock settings

    Speed Tested: 50mm – 75mm
    Temperatures: 200c tool … 60c bed
    Layer height tests: 0.12, 0.16, 0.20

    General Review:
Overall this is a really nice filament with strong bed adhesion and a nice shine when done. This shine really compliments the color and quality of the filament, but will show you any imperfections you may have. The filament is a tad weaker than anticipated, but i often use PLA+, which sometimes is stronger than normal. I used mostly stock settings on my ender and got good results with this filament. I did notice it is easier to cause elephant foot, so keep that in mind. I love the transparent roll too so you can see how much filament is left (the vendor also forgot to put their sticker on my roll, lol)

    Bed adhesion:
The adhesion is really strong relative to my other filaments. I often babystep my z axis by -0.1 or -0.2mm depending on the filament to get a solid first layer for adhesion. Doing this with this filament caused some of it to stick way to tight.

    General extrusion:
I might have to lower the extrusion rate just a little bit due to the first layer stickiness. I also noticed there was a bit of an elephants foot on the first mm, but this is just how I print the first few layers

    Infill and Strength:
The infill printed out good and strong, but this filament is a little weaker than what I am used to (please note I often use PLA+)

    Quality and appearance:
The appearance comes out really nice, with a bit of a shine to it. If your print comes out with any imperfections, you will likely notice it because of the shine, otherwise this prints beautifully.

    Tolles Ergebnis
