Love making my own pizza from own ingredients and cooking in my Komado is a natural progression.

Bought this on a good deal with this warehouse purchase. It didn’t have the pizza stone included BUT it should have done – I have not downgraded the product review as I actually had a spare KJ pizza stone so I spoke to Amazon and they reduced the price. Not sure where quality control was but never mind. Great pizz(a) kit – see what I did there 🙂

    Recommended.

Wrote this review to confirm for others that this fits the Vision Grills Kamado Professional great! It does NOT come with heat deflectors so you will need to purchase those separately in addition to the DoJoe if you plan to use with the Vision.

    Enjoy!

Its an expensive piece of kit as an accessory but to be honest, a lot cheaper than a pizza oven once you have the Kamado .

simple to use, heavy! quality kit.

The Kamado warranty should be the standard!!!

They are great to work with and whatever they make they stand with the quality an ease to use!!
This makes great pizzas too. Just control the temperature and you will enjoy the best pizza ever!!!

Flavor is fantastic, holds temperature perfectly and easy to cook pizza after pizza in one night. Would highly recommend this. It is as close tobrick oven pizza cooking that you can get.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve wanted to build a Forno oven for years, I just don’t have the space for it. The Vision Kamado and DJoe has filled that void nicely. Not the 900F the pizzerias in Naples enjoy, but at 650F nothing gets too lost in translation. Great results at 400F too. Lump charcoal and a few chunks of hardwood produce a true wood-oven flavor.

The Classic DJoe works like a charm on my Vision Grill, once I figured out to remove the shock absorber. It’s not necessary but you can see in the image that it is an obstacle. Long handle pizza peel and tongs are also a good idea, this thing gets really hot.

As far as quality, it seems well made — I’ve used it about 4 times now. If using a Vision Grill make sure you have the heat deflector or you’ll be buying a very expensive pizza stone.

Fabulous Accessory -- A Must Have!

fits perfectly. Make sure you fill the firebox with enough charcoal (leave about 2 inches from the top of the box) it may take about 35-45 min to warm up. We purchased a wooden pizza peel with enough flour it will slide easy (longer handle better) and a metal spatula for rotating the pizza or removing (make sure you time the pizza 6-7 minutes, its fast. A great family event!!!

Love using the oven. I have never cooked pizza before and I figured it out quickly. My biggest complaint is that on the Classic II, the seal between the top lid and the DoeJoe does not sit flush and seems to allow a bit of air in. There is maybe about a 1/4″ gap. This has caused some fairly intense and large flames to come through the vent holes on the DoJoe, skyrocketing the temp. I also worry that the fire directly making contact with the felt gaskets will reduce the life of the gaskets.

All-in-all, you can eventually adjust it to the appropriate temp maybe just a little more annoying than I planned though.

Would I recommend this? Try making pizza without it, if you like it and don’t see any issue- then I would say don’t buy this and look into other accessories.

I was making Neapolitan Pizza on my Kamado Joe without the DoJoe attachment for several months. I struggled to keep the temperature consistent due to having to open the lid to check on the pizza, or even to just take it out when it was done and put another in to cook. My pizza’s were Okay, but the crust left much to be desired. I decided to purchase the DoJoe as a bit of a splurge and I am so glad that i did. The ability for the Kamado Joe to hold a temp (650 for my liking), and to peek into it to assess if the pizza is done yet, make this attachment the perfect choice. Using the heat deflector and the pizza stone configuration allows you to make the perfect crust without burning it. It’s as close to having pizza in Italy as you are going to get while still in your backyard! This one is a winner!

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThis fits perfectly on a Kamado Joe grill, the top of the grill seals well on the DoJoe. The only way heat can escape is through the DoJoe’s opening (which is true of all pizza ovens). A good set of instructions is included in your purchase, and it explains how to set the vents on your Kamado Joe so that the temperature doesn’t drop while your pizza cooks. The cooking process is a bit more cumbersome than just cooking a pizza in the oven, although it should get easier every time you use the DoJoe. The reason to buy the DoJoe is that you definitely get a superior crust with this accessory and the flavor of a wood-fired pizza is hard to beat. You will also want to get yourself a pizza peel to slide the pizza in and out (sprinkle a bit of corn meal on it if your dough tends to stick). My peel is 14″ wide and fits into the opening easily (the opening on the DoJoe is 14.5″)

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI’ve had the perfect pizza crust for a while now. The one thing that has kept me from making the perfect homemade pizza is lack of a decent pizza oven. With the Dojoe this problem has been solved. Since this thing arrived on my doorstep two days ago I have now made two pizzas and have dialed it in perfectly! Crispy on the bottom, chewy on top with just the right amount of mild charring around the edges and a bit of smoky flavor. Just like the wood-fired pizza joints!

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersThe DoeJoe is awesome. It is easy to install and remove. Cooks pizza quickly and gives it that pizza oven taste. One recommendation, if you are cooking pizza made from scratch cook your pizza crust a little first before you top it. We tried topping a crust with the crust still doughy and it was a disaster. Had to open the Kamado and scrape everything off the pizza stone. That’s when we started baking the crust for 5 minutes, topping it and then putting it in the DoughJoe. Worked much better and all the rest of the pizzas were perfect.

Previously I was using my oven with nice thick pizza stone at 260c (500f) and was getting fairly good results.

Only used the JoDo a few times so far, but it gets super hot and makes fabulous thin and crispy wood fired pizza.
(also works with charcoal, but you get a different flavour)

Try making a very simple thin pizza with basil/garlic/passatta/salt topped with 6 slices of buffalo mozzarella… you will never go back to deep pan 🙂
