The Borneo Storage Box

The Borneo storage box is built out of a low maintenance durable plastic to keep items such as patio accessories and chair cushions dry and ventilated as well as provide full weather resistance. It’s also designed with an elegant wood with wicker/rattan appearance that has a capacity of 416 L. The Borneo storage box also comfortably seats two adults, which adds an extra seating option when entering and has a lockable feature with, an automatic opening mechanism for ease.

This box is so much better than I expected it to be. It’s really easy to put together, you just click all the sides into the base (and each other) and then screw on the lid hinges. I can’t believe that other reviewers had a hard time building it. I am not ‘handy’ by any stretch and it was no struggle whatsoever. The storage capacity is great. I have all the cushions from two sets of outdoor furniture in there, including additional scatter cushions.
This a great product, I looks tidy and is sturdy once assembled. It says it takes two persons to assemble but I did it myself without problem. The plastic is good quality, it’s waterproof, easy to clean, and provides a lot of storage. The hinged lid also makes it easy to open and close.
I bought one for the top of the garden and then bought another for the bottom of the garden because we needed the extra storage and the product has kept so well.

Lovely storage box. However, please check the mould being used for this. Mine had unfinished holes and gaps sadly. Full refund received. Thankyou amazon. Will purchase again soon. Hopefully company will have checked manufacturing of product.
Great quality and value
Very easy to assemble, great quality and value. Perfect to sit on a large terrace and store outdoor items.
(Outer packaging is not great so some may get damaged, but in this case it survived the delivery)

Fantastic storage box. It ent grey though mate. But still looks good. The brown one was cheaper but wanted grey colour as I bought it for toy box for my sons toys. Wanted it to match grey interior of house. I brought the brown coloured one 2 for garden and it is great to keep outside toys in.

A great garden/patio storage box.
It was so easy to erect, I needed no help even for the lid. Clearly very well made and it looks good. Very pleased with purchase for storing garden tools and appliances etc etc, but would be very useful for cushions and so forth. Good size.

Unpacked and assembled in 20 minutes. Could hardly believe how simple and how effective. Side panels and base just click together. Lid, which is stromg enough to sit on needs 8 screws (provided) to fit the piston assisted hinges. Strong well designed product which hopefully will weather our occasional winter storms.

Solid and sturdy outdoor storage
I was a bit sceptical about paying such a sum for an outdoor box and but needed something for the all the outdoor seat cushions. I went for this one and in fairness is a solid piece of kit as opposed to the ones I has seen in the garden centres for half the price. It took less than 5 minutes to assemble and is a solid and sturdy box with a strong hinge to keep the kid lid open. Am quite impressed and will be buying another.
Love this storage box, but do check for broken bits asap
This was the 2nd box I’d ordered, as I was so impressed with the first. However, I made the error of not checking the contents, leaving the unopened box in the garage until my handyman could come & assemble it. On opening the box, he found a corner bit had been broken off. Hopefully it will still be as weatherproof as the first. (BTW The contents stay bone dry – it’s only when you lift the lid up that water can get in – so always wipe any water off the lid first before opening)
Easy to assemble
I was apprehensive about assembling this store as a previous larger one took quite a while and some reviews suggested it was quite awkward to assemble. In the end I found it quick and easy to put together with no screws and just an occasional tap with a hammer. As I am nearly 80 this should encourage other buyers. It has proved to be fully waterproof in some heavy downpours and a sturdy seat. I use it to store my grandchildren’s outside garden items, like sports equipment. It is quite spacious.
Perfect size
he garden storage arrived on time, I needed something to fit all our outdoor cushions into and this was the perfect size and capacity. Cannot comment on waterproof as yet as we havent had the weather for me to try this out, eventhough it does actually have a linning to protect from rain.

Weatherproof
First one arrived and was damaged but replaced very quickly and the replacement had no problems. Easy to assemble and so far is withstanding the terrible weather well, dry outdoor cushions despite all the rain. Very pleased.

Wanted a box to store patio furniture covers and kids toys. Easy to assemble, just one panel needed two people. The panels pop together, just need a screwdriver for lid and lock fixings. Good size and so far is waterproof.

Gas-lift lid - brilliant!
I got this for a bargain price, but even at full RRP it’s an excellent box. The gas-lift pistons each side of the lid make it ultra-easy to open, and it doesn’t slam shut on your arm like others do but stays up until you shut it. It’s spacious, not unattractive, doesn’t leak so far (although I only use it to store my recycling so it wouldn’t much matter to me) and wasn’t hard for two people to assemble – took us about 20 minutes, without rushing. I would highly recommend it.

Really useful garden storage
This is the second one and you can get a lot of kit in there. This one now has a (huge) 6 man inflatable tent, 2 ring stove, gas bottle and all the bits safely stored away.
My wife assembled most of it herself but it needed a bit of extra brute force to make one of the sides click together otherwise no problems at all.

Much nicer than I thought the only thing is the lid does not fit properly even with the lick on It only took me 10 minutes to put together just click and its fitted . The mice can not know get at the bird food

I have been looking for an inexpensive garden storage for some time. I have to admit I was put off after seeing some of the examples available at my local garden centre as they seemed to have the very same problems described on some previous reviews. Stories of warped and cracked panels seemed to occure all too often with some people but I was willing to take the chance as these were just the right size, colour and style I wanted. I’m very pleased to say they arrived promptly, well packaged, with simple clear instructions included for setup. I actually put them together (I bought two) within 30 minutes. I had no problems what so ever. Seeing as it rained that night it was a good test confirm if they would keep the water out with only the fittings as supplied. Well i checked the following morning and just as i hoped it was bone dry inside in spite of the heavy over night rain and strong winds. Well I have only had them two days but I was compelled to add this review to show how pleased I was. I won’t bother with too much detail of the construction of this particular model storage box other than to say, they appear quite sturdy and rigide where required. Two of us sat on them confidently. I would recommend to anyone looking for this type of garden storage for both size and style. I may update this review after a couple of months to let everyone know how the boxes cope in the garden.

Quite a few negative reviews for this product with complaints about packaging, items missing and poor mouldings so I purchased with some trepidation. For me the products arrived complete and undamaged. The instructions were clear and very easy to follow. Assembly was very easy (a rubber mallet helped) and I assembled two of them in less than an hour. No complaints from me.
Fairly easy to put together. The joints between pieces not as tight as I would have liked ( all the pieces clicked in place but very small gaps were visible in places around the bottom of the box).
It looks good and seems very robust.
Perfect for housing outdoor upholstery
Very sturdy and waterproof. We keep our outdoor seat cushions in here for most of the year and they have stayed dry. It also provides additional seating. A good, strong design. My only wish is that it had been available in a natural brown colour rather than black.
Sturdy waterproof, transformational!
I use this to store fild up wooden garden chairs. It’s sturdy and waterproof. Very happy with it, it’s transformed my life, reduced my stress level, made me content with my lot, my wife is more beautiful than ever….. Too much?
I have bought several [cheaper] alternatives in the past and they have all failed dismally within a year. Not so with these, this is my 3rd, you can sit on them without damage, the hydraulic struts hold the top up and down and 2 years in after standing outside in sun and rain they are still perfect. One stores all the cushions for my 1200 Rattan furniture and the first year I was a bit concerned as to what I would find on opening the lid in spring. NO worries they were clean dry and no sign of mould or animal attack. RESULT – would I buy more- YES!!!

This is a very good storage box for outdoor or shed use. It is relatively easy to put together and is very robust. The lid has good hinges with a pneumatic plunger holding it open. It holds large amounts of outdoor equipment and is particularly good to store these in over the winter. Highly recommended.

Easy to put together but the lid does not clse properly so rain can get in even with a padlock on. I would buy another though
Smart & Great Value Garden Storage
I bought this on an Amazon Deal, so the price was great. It was very quick to build and creates a very smart storage space for the garden.
I would suggest using a Power Screwdriver to speed the process up. Using a powered driver, I would say it took me approx 5 mins to build this item.

This is proving very useful to store simple things needed for gardening on a regular basis. Saves me hunting for the key to the shed! It seems to keep everything dry so could be used for cushions, although maybe not in winter when the air would be very damp.

his went together perfectly, been out in the rain and keeping things dry…. very pleased. Annoyingly the size is just a little smaller than a standard 2 seater patio sofa cushion… but it goes in with a slight bend, nothing to worry about. just a couple more inches would have made it perfect. fits our sofa, single chair and dining chair cushions (6) with a bit of room to spare

This is the second Keter Borneo storage box we have, our original one is grey, and I’ve attached a photograph to show the difference in colour between this brown one and the grey; it is actually a very dark brown. These boxes are excellent, they are strong and they keep the contents dry as well as providing a seat for two adults. Assembly is easy but it is important to remove any flash from the slots with a penknife otherwise the clips won’t click into place. Recommended.
Massive! Spacious! Stores loads and easy to put together (but did have to ask a chap to help slot three of the pieces together for pure strength). Otherwise, easy to put together. And the hinge is great. Looks durable, good quality and definitely serves its purpose.

I LOVE THIS! really easy to put together and really solid and sturdy. looks good and makes a nice garden seat as well as containing all the kids garden toys and keeping them all clean and dry. I bought one but then decided to get another to go next to it, my mum likes it too so got one for her. Its pricey but well worth It I think
Great – perfect size for my UpSunny cushions. Although the instructions said to use two people to assemble, this little woman did it by herself! You need a lot of palm power to knock the rivets together though… don’t use a hammer like I did at first… I made a tiny hole in it! Not such a clever little woman after all!!!

I ordered one of these as already have this product, which is great value, easy to build and completely waterproof. I ordered another so all the garden cushions fit in here. However it has come without some of the screws, and I do not have an option to contact seller only return the goods which will be rather expensive when I am only after the missing parts.

This storage box was even better than I expected, and I have filled it with all my garden equipment. It seems very very sturdy, was real easy to put together and much roomier than I anticipated. Robust and practical
This storage box is easy to build out of the box in about 10 minutes. A medium Philips screwdriver is about all you need. Most of the panels simply slot together – just the front catch (which accepts a padlock) and hydraulic hinges require screwing together. I can endorse the manufacturer’s statement that the box is waterproof but has sufficient air vents that the contents shouldn’t suffer from mildew. Time will tell whether the colour is susceptible to fading or if the material becomes brittle with age.

Decided to spend a bit more money in the hope I would get something that was a bit more solid and that would last somewhat longer. I was not disappointed, this is a large and solid box that is more than adequate to fit in all my garden furniture cushions and much more, as well as provide extra outdoor seating? It was relatively easy to put together, including attaching the lid, all of which I did on my own. I am hopeful that it will last somewhat longer than my last one, only time will tell! Purchased this one after my old BQ one pretty much fell to pieces!! This one seems far better made and and sturdy, early days yet but we have had a lot of rain recently and it has kept everything dry so well pleased with it so far and not hard to look at either so may well buy another as lots of room inside and doubles up as a garden seat !!

Expensive but worth it.
I’ve had this for a year now and it’s stood up to rain and wind and sun very well and still looks as good as new. It’s well built and sturdy enough to sit on. It is very expensive at three times the price of some others but I think it may last three times as long. It keeps out rain and pests apart form spiders and small snails. The only complaint I have is that the deep rattan pattern on the top retains water so it takes a long time to dry out after rain, only a problem if you want to use it as a seat.

A good product, very sturdy. The reason for giving it 4 stars and not 5 was because where you screw the brackets into the plastic, the plastic is a bit thin it could do with being much thicker. It seems very solid, I put my washing basket on it to hang the washing out and the lid does not move. Overall we are pleased with it but are wary with regards to the brackets.
A good product, very sturdy. The reason for giving it 4 stars and not 5 was because where you screw the brackets into the plastic, the plastic is a bit thin it could do with being much thicker. wow. better than expected with superb hinge system which makes it easy to open and shut the lid. well constructed. I expected rattan because I didn’t read the description properly and its plastic in rattan style, but its strong. it goes well with our rattan garden furniture and doesn’t look “plasticky”. I would recommend it despite the price of ninety five pounds. I am sure it will last for a long time.

Has to be placed on an even surface or the lid is squint and probably not weather proof. Too early to judge on water but may consider a line of silicone over the joints. It takes my weight for sitting but a smaller one would be better for this. Not an attractive piece of garden furniture but very useful.

This is so great I bought a second one as we have lots of garden seating/cushions. Really sturdy construction, impressively manufactured, extremely easy and quick to assemble, great design throughout. Strong enough for two heavy people to sit on and doesn’t even bow under the weight! Cushion dry test overnight as it rained. Perfectly dry. Would not hesitate to recommend this product.

Arrived very promptly and assembled quite easily- though make sure you put it together in the correct order, especially the floor panel. On unpacking we were disturbed to find some broken pieces lying around and assumed it was damaged but on careful inspection this was not the case. It has room for all the stuff we had cluttering up round the back door and you can also perch on it. Seems sturdy and we are pleased we bought it.
This was really really simple to put together. It took less than 10 mins and some of that was trying to find my screwdriver. You can easily do it with no help. It is sturdy and seems good quality. It looks a little plastic’y but that is hard to avoid seeing as it IS plastic, however, it still looks good and is much better looking than fake ‘wood’ or the boxes that just look like plastic boxes (if you know what I mean)
I like the nice, rick dark brown colour. The smooth opening hinges are good too.
UPDATE June 2014. I have now had this a year and am pleased to say that it kept all my cushions from my garden furniture perfectly dry all winter. It still looks like new and hasn’t faded.
Who ever designed this Keter storage box put some thought into the design for easy assembly by the most basic do it yourself person. I assembled the box in less than 30 minute’s and found the instructions to be very clear with excellent diagram’s. One little tip, make sure you assemble the box on a soft surface as the surfaces of the box will easy scratch if you assemble same on a concrete or gravel surface. Another tip is to possible situate the box on blocks to stop any surface water that may try to penetrate the bottom of the box, although this would appear unlikely. Its a good solid product with loads of storage space.
