Gravity fed hot water system
This system has a cold water tank in the loft or in the top of the airing cupboard and a hot water cylinder below it. The water in the cylinder is heated by a boiler or an electric immersion heater and fed to taps via a pipe from the top of the cylinder. As the hot water in the cylinder is used up, it is replaced with cold water from the tank above, which in turn is refilled from the mains water supply via a float operated valve. System water pressure is usually low. To give a higher pressure and flow rate from a mixer shower a booster pump can be installed.
Gravity fed hot water system with Booster Pump
This system has a cold water tank in the loft or in the top of the airing cupboard and a hot water cylinder below it. The water in the cylinder is heated by a boiler or an electric immersion heater and fed to taps via a pipe from the top of the cylinder. As the hot water in the cylinder is used up, it is replaced with cold water from the tank above, which in turn is refilled from the mains water supply via a float operated valve. System water pressure is increased due to the addition of a Booster Pump.
Unvented System
An unvented system has a hot water cylinder that is connected directly to the mains cold water supply and there is no need for a cold water tank in the home. The water is heated by a boiler or an electric immersion heater. As everything is under the pressure of mains water, the flow rates from taps and showers are much better and a pump is not needed to get a powerful shower. An unvented cylinder can be installed virtually anywhere e.g. in an airing cupboard or garage.
Combination Boiler
A combi – boiler can be located anywhere within the home. More often wall mounted but some are floor mounted. It heats water ‘on demand’ when a hot tap or mixer shower is turned on. Connected directly to the mains cold water supply at high pressure there is no need for a hot water cylinder, cold water tank or shower pump in the home.

Was supplied with a defective on/off switch. Warranty support from Triton UK and Dublin was appalling and failed to deal with the matter (switch costs 13 pound). Amazon sent a replacement unit – faulty unit returned … thanks to Amazon!

Good unit but it doesn’t lock properly
I bought 3 of them because they are very similar to the ones we’ve got in our flats basically the water valve is in the same place so installation was easy and didn’t require plumber but what we found out is when you screw the face cover it doesn’t line up perfectly with the back panel so there is a big gap so looks like it’s badly designed

water gets quite cold when shower is switched off before the flow stops.
i used this product to replace a Triton opal 3 shower which went on the blink, and it was almost a straight swap so fitting it was easy. So far it is working perfectly and i am very pleased with it.

Time will tell how long it will last.
Ha Ha this did not match up to previous pipework, but plumber managed to do it in the end. this was despite previous shower was same make !!! Hopefully this will last longer than the last one. this is shower number 3 in 7 years. We live in Dorset which is a very hard water area. this shower dribbles after turning off, which is a design feature to try and stop it gunking up.The temp monitor works well when someone flushes the loo it doesnt go HOT. Son very happy with this feature, wont have to hear him shouting about who flushed the loo. He He
Good warm shower and easy fitme
Easily installed with existing fittings, shower looks good and more importantly has staged shut down so it doesnt fur up the heating element. Well recommended. Gives a good shower and the temperature dial isnt prone to wear like cheaper showers.

Bought to replace aquatronic,same shower but with a different name. Does not affect performance and because it was same shower installed in less than hour.

Stylish, efficient shower with a good, directional shower head which minimises splashes where you don’t want them! Only down side is the chrome finish of the casing looks streaky when it does get splashed.
Direct replacement for old trito
Needed to replace a 10 year old triton that was weeping from the solenoid, searched around and found this had the same backplate and internals apart from a new circuit board.
Easy to fit, works well, gives a good flow, looks to be good quality, let hope it goes for another 10 years.

Triton shower now cheaper than in 2016
This shower is exactly the same as one I bought nearly 3 years ago and therefore quite easy to instal. The cost now is less than what I paid 3 years earlier. I just hope that t his one lasts longe

Great shower and value for money.
Unfortunately my shower arrived defective. Having installed it, it immediately became apparent upon first start up when there was a loud repetitive clunking noise (during the commissioning process). This stopped as the flow rate was increased. But upon each subsequent srart up and stop, the same single clunk noise occurred. In short, this turned out to be a faulty solenoid valve. This also meant that because the valve wouldnt quite close properly, the shower would continually drip. However, I phoned Triton customer care and they sent out an engineer the following morning and within 30 minutes it was repaired. Excellent service. I wasnt sure about the chrone finish initially, but once installed, it looked great. It’s fairy quiet and with a 10.5 kW heater, flow rate is good. The shower head is chrome. Installation was straight forward, especially as it replaced my Triton Opal II, sharing the same mounting points, plumbing and electrical positions/connections (which is the main reason I opted for this particular model). The chrome finish buffs up quickly and easily with a dry microcloth. I only docked it one star because it arrived defective and created additional work and stress. Can’t fault Triton’s support though.
Having owned this model before for 4 years plus and use everyday without fail this is an excellent and reliable shower with plenty of power and heat for an electric shower and looks amazing and for the price the features are great and also the build quality. Also having the 2 years standard guarantee as standard is a bonus. Easy to install and use.

Excellent replacement for my Triton Trance
Bought this on the basis of previous reviews. Holes did NOT match up with previous shower (as described in a previous review) however meant that I just had to drill one more hole.
Again as per previous reviews wasn’t looking for a chrome shower, ( to replace a white shower), BUT have to concede that it does look excellent.
Had it for over a month now and still functioning well for a 9.5kW shower.

I love this shower so far, we have had it installed a month or so and haven’t looked back. I have a disability within my hip and my thigh and the pressures of the shower and heat setting really help with adding warmth to the area. I like the difference pressure settings and u can change the pressure setting. Overall very happy with this shower.

Really happy with this. Heats up effectively and good range of sprays to choose from. Pretty powerful too, considering the wattage. Good value. I read the reviews on this before I bought it and some say it starts well but then deteriorates. I have had mine for about 18months or so and still functioning as well as the first day.

Still working well 6 months later. We like the chrome finish. The settings are easy to use. The shower head is powerful. Came with a handy soap holder too.
good value purchase – delivered on time – very happy with look and functions as wanted a simple operation for my mum – power as expected nothing great but i think a lot of people expect electric showers to deliver more power – i am happy with purchase and simple to fit – the shower head is a large version – hose lenght is standard so have purchased a longer one

I read a two or three reviews prior to me buying this shower that suggested it wasn’t up to scratch for various reasons. All I can tell you is, I purchased and installed this shower in July 2014, and as a family of 4 we use it 3 – 4 times a day, every day, and it’s absolutely brilliant……I have spent three times this amount on showers in the past, and none have been as good as this. I would recommend the 10.5KW if your water pressure is high enough…I’m on here now as I’m buying another Kito to replace an old New Team shower we have in our other shower room.

This shower is brilliant. It looks good and works extremely well. The head is quite large and so you get a nice amount of water jets, making your shower really nice. I had my plumber put it in and it was easy to install. Would definitely recommend this.

bought this to replace a Triton opal that was approx 5 years old and had never given me a problem. Checked the pipe work and cables were in the same place and the dimensions were approx the same and it worked a treat. I installed the shower in about 30 minutes with a couple of spanners, a screwdriver. No need to drill, all the holes were in exactly the same place. Good product with a two year guarantee for pets and labour.

Great shower – does what it says on the adverts, showers heads 3 settings -expels before shut down, to cut down on limescale – would reccommend to anyone.
My Triton Trance finally succumbed to scale after many years so I looked at the current range of showers to find one with the same pipe and cable entry points. After downloading many installation guides I found this one and can confirm that the backplate and almost all the internal gubbins are identical to the Trance. Screw holes were in the same place so it was a piece of cake to install.
So, now it’s on the wall what’s it like? I must admit I wasn’t too excited by the all-over chrome finish in the pictures, a bit clinical/industrial for my taste – but I have to say it does look good now it’s in situ. Our bathroom has white tiling all over and that reflects to give the chrome a lighter feel that I’d expected. What I hadn’t considered was that being chrome the whole thing is a slightly convex mirror. It doesn’t steam up either. So if you’re not replacing an existing shower, have a think about its position vertically – you could exaggerate or reduce your proportions to best effect – get it wrong and you might want to keep your back to the wall 🙂
I like the three buttons which are flush with the main body and the little leds look good too.
I liked the Trance, but it did have a couple of annoying things which I think this one has corrected. Worst was the riser rail – on the Trance this started to corrode in no time, I think it was aluminium. This one is heavier so I think it’s stainless steel and hopefully will stay shiny. Also I never much liked the lever to adjust the height of the shower head. This one has a button instead which both looks and works better. Another small irritation was the way the temperature dial had nothing in the way of a pointer so you could easily see the setting. Instead, it had numbers printed around the rim of the dial, rather than the front face, which you had to line up with a marker underneath the dial. But since it stuck out about 3cm, you’d have to kneel on the floor to see the marker – unless you had installed the shower above eye level. Bad design. This one has a dial with a raised marker, which points upwards at normal settings, so you can see the setting at a glance before switching on.
Finally – a plea to all shower manufacturers. Many purchasers must be buying a replacement for an old one, like me, and won’t want to re-tile the whole room – so why not standardise the pipe and cable entry points, even the physical size and mounting holes, as a template? I appreciate you’d need several templates, but no need for almost every shower to be different, surely? And why not include somewhere in the product description a list of older models that have the same template. That would have saved me a lot of time.

Arrived promptly and very well packed. An excellent product that looks good and provides a good constant flow, the controls are very responsive and easy to use. The only thing I can’t comment on is the longevity but it does have a good guarantee.

The morning of having my shower area tiled my old shower died 🙁
That was a Triton Trance 9.5kw. I bought this one as a replacement as it was Triton and 9.5kw, my theory being that the fitting would be easier as it was a similar spec. Well the electrician fitted it with no problems so that was good. We have low pressure as we live in a ground floor flat so there isn’t alot of height between the water tank and the shower and all the previous showers have not given a very hot and powerful shower at all, more like a dribble.
Well this one is FANTASTIC! It is really hot even when set at less than half power, and the pressure of the spray is much better than we have ever had before. It also looks really smart in the chrome finish and minimilist design.
Overall I can’t recommend this shower enough, only problem is that I can’t get out of the shower in the mornings!

Purchased this shower to replace the same model but last one was a 9.5kw.
The water pressure is much better with a 10.5kw more like a power shower.
My last one blew up due to electrician not installing on the correct size cable, so it wasn’t down to quality. Ihave always had triton and found them very reliable.

One point, the plastic ends on the riser rail (finishing trims) are very stiff to locate into the rail, try wd40 or a light smear of vaseline.
Bought this shower to replace my old triton which i have had for the past seven years,got this one as it was on offer and was also a 10.5 my old unit was a 9.5 and it is a good looking piece of kit and after getting it all up and running it is a lot better than i thought it would be.If you are thinking of getting a new shower you should give the the triton kito 10.5 a go.
Triton are a brand I have used before and on my recent shower replacement, this unit caught my eye.
It’s a 9.5kw shower so if you choose this one, ensure that your supply cable and fuse can deal with the 8.6kw-9.5kw element – thats equal to an electric cooker, so quite powerful in the shower sector.
The shower comes with the usual accessories, shower head, hose, soap tray and adjusting bar. It was neatly packed and had clear instructions, but ensure you have a qualified electrician to fit, this is no diy shower unit.
It’s now fitted neatly into my shower enclosure and has a clear temperature dial and operation control.
I have chosen to add an extractor fan above as this unit does heat quite high.
My only choice now is choosing the shower gel! Might have to ask someone to help with that!!
I would definately recommend this shower, I have a Triton shower in my main bathroom and as we were pleased with it we decided to go for the same make again for our en-suit.
This one is even better though as it’s slightly more powerfull than my other as it’s a 10.5kw but also looks nice & modern and is easy to use.
I bought this shower with a little apprehension because it says 10.5kw in the add and 9.5 in the description. I rang Amazon who said they’d view it and get back to me about which was correct. They didn’t! I waited two weeks before I bought it, thinking I could send it back if it was in fact a 9.5. It IS a 10.5 and it great! Looks classy too.
This has been easily installed and is working well, if not quite as powerful as the triton opal which malfunctioned! Why though cant manufacturers make them easier to inter change when one breaks down. we now have a hole in the tiles because the fittings do not correspond.
I cannot fault the product at all… The shower was easy enough to fit and looks as if you paid a fortune for it.
The pump on the shower is much stronger than my previous model and performs like a power shower.
