I love the Kiwi head strap for my Meta Quest 2 and is comfortable to ware well built to before I bought it my Quest 2 was heavy on my face and uncomfortable but I got is Kiwi I can play on my vr head set for a lot longer.
Really enjoy this upgrade to my head strap, makes VR more enjoyable and comfortable. I would recommend. I was previously using a 3d printed piece with the original oculus 2 heads strap for stability
I hadn’t bothered getting an upgraded strap for the Quest 2 as I thought they seemed a bit expensive for what they were. Oh how I was wrong!
Over the summer holiday my kids have been absolutely loving the Quest 2, so I thought I’d get this strap to make their sessions more enjoyable. What a difference it’s made, it stays put on your head, meaning once you’ve set it and everything is in focus, it stays that way. It is a MASSIVE improvement over the stock elastic straps, my kids have commented multiple times how grateful they are that I bought it, and I’ve had a couple of session myself and feel it is an absolutely essential upgrade that I wish I’d gotten sooner.
Now I just need to convince the kids to let their old man have another go…..
We had to buy a replacement head strap after a piece on the original broke. Went for this as it seemed to have the best reviews and it is so much better than the original. Easy to install and to adjust for the wearer. Makes the Quest 2 feel far more secure than the head strap that comes with the Quest 2.
So glad I got this as my son loves playing on his oculus but it has never fit right or comfortably until now it is so much more secure on him now
This is a great buy- it fits a range of head sizes. It balances the weight of the headset relieving pressure on your face/ back of your head. It feels well made and durable. Fits on easily however instructions were not the easiest to follow. Would definitely recommend though!
I wasn’t quite sure about this headstrap before I purchased it, but my worries went away after putting it on for the first time. It is MILES better than the default strap, no question about it. For me personally, it is also more comfortable than most other 3rd party straps. I do however kinda wish I got the battery pack version for slightly better counter weight as the quest 2 is still a tiny bit front heavy with this strap but thats a little nit-picky. 10x less front heavy than with the default strap still.
Opted for this over the manufacturers premium strap because of its glowing reviews.
I agree that it is a high quality product – it is well manufactured and very sturdy and comfortable.
So it was this or the bobovr m2, I was put off by the bobo because it looks more fiddly and I feel like having a battery could be a bad thing, I don’t see a need to spend more than two hours in vr without a break. Well I did not know what to expect with a new head strap and you can instantly feel the difference. This is comfortable as hell compared to the stock strap. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because i haven’t really found the sweet spot just yet. I wear glasses also and this was not an issue at all
As a vr user that uses the headset often , the original strap hurts your head like crazy after 10-20 minutes after having it on . This allows you to play for multiple hours (even though you aren’t supposed to) without pain in you head.
I must start by saying i havent spent any time on the oculus, because my son is on it constantly.
but he used to complain constantly of the unit slipping around and being uncomfortable to wear – being a bit front heavy. Spending the money on this unit has completely changed his opinion, he loves it! It feel sturdy and comfortable to wear and reduces fatigue
Would highly recommend
Saw this product online for making VR quest 2 more comfortable to wear.. I agree it takes a load off your face, easy to set up with many videos online.
Instructions where missing how to take normal strap off but videos show this perfectly online.
Over all I would highly recommend.. meta should go into partnership with kiwi.. and sell this standard with their VR devices..
Fast delivery
I always found the standard Oculus strap a bit of a nightmare, since it easily would move my glasses and end up smudging them. The angling hinge makes this way easier to put on, and it’s far better for long periods of time. Also allows me to wear my rather large over-ear headphones comfortably, which other head strap designs do not.
This headstrap is one of the best I’d seen on YouTube advertised or promoted, and I’d originally tried a different one which was met with frustration over the headstrap not keeping the headset in place when I moved my head (or didn’t, and it simply slipped) which this headstrap fixed almost like someone took a magic wand and poofed my problems away.
The quality is perfect, and the system to clip or unclip the padding works just as intended and lets it fit perfectly in the carrying case I bought to fit the old headstrap.
The fit on the strap is perfect and the mechanic to twist it to fit my head is perfect. My ONLY two gripes are that this strap is that if I move my head too fast, it can loosen during the movement and slightly move out of place, causing me to readjust but it’s fine for 99% of my games on the quest, considering I mainly play Beat Sober and casual/artsy simulators at the moment. My other gripe is that the clicking when tightening the strap can be quite loud, but it’s fine as long as you’re not constantly tightening over and over again.
Overall, I love this headstrap to pieces, and recommend this to anyone looking for a sturdy headstrap that can be practically disassembled to fit in small spaces and one that allows you to adjust to your own head size giving you a perfect and accurate fit with as little faff as possible. This is also helped by the feature of the headset that allows you to either raise the front of the headset or the back of the headstrap which allows for easy removability, without having to re-adjust for every time you remove or put on the headset. (although I recommend making sure it’s perfect when you put it back on)
This completely revolutionizes the quest 2 in my opinion. The main thing for me is it’s considerably more durable than the original fabric straps. Rather than putting the full weight of the headset basically on your nose, this uses your whole head and evenly distributes the weight to an extent. Add in the foam padding, which unlike the quests original face piece is covered with an easy to clean coating, and VR becomes massively more comfortable. Of course it does move slightly for very intense games such as the thrill of the fight, where sometimes the constant motion can move the set horizontally around your head a bit, but it’s important to note that this is not a massive issue. Overall it does make the quest 2 considerably more comfortable and is therefore in my opinion pretty much a must have.
Easy to connect and set up comfortable worth every penny great price.
Well needed for the quest 2. Original head strap not comfortable
This head strap is absolutely amazing for the Quest 2. It’s far more comfortable than the one that comes with the Quest. The battery life has been great so far, I am able to get at least 5.5-6 hours of play from a full charge, which is nice for swapping around with friends, or if you just don’t want to plug it in every time you take it off. The ratcheting system for tightening on the back works very nicely and makes it easy to put on and fit to your head quickly. It also takes almost all the weight off the nose and has improved my breathing while wearing the headset. On top of all this, the design looks clean too, there isn’t too much going on like some other head straps tend to. Overall, fantastic head strap for quest 2, definitely worth buying if you need a comfortable strap and would like more than 2 hours of life from the quest.
So I got this head set a about a month ago and it is awesome! I have played vr almost ever night since and it is the most comfortable head set I’ve bought for my quest 2. Even after hours of game play it is just as comfortable as it was the first 5 minutes. I’ve had some decent head set that would start out great but after an hour or so they would feel like they were jabbing the top of my head but this one doesn’t have that issue. Battery power is great, I know it says 2.5 to 4 hours added but my head set has stayed fully charged even after 6 hour vr sessions. Being able to flip the quest up with the hinge is a huge game changer too I’m able to check my phone and get something to drink and go right back to the game with out it going into sleep mode. Definitely worth the money!
I was not really enjoying using my VR headset with the standard strap, it was uncomfortable and hard to keep the image focus due to it moving.
Putting this on changed that, takes the weight off your brow allowing you to game longer and if you get headaches with vr this helped stop them for my daughter. Recommended!
Super easy to swap out the strap, and easy on and off your head no fiddling.
This headstrap with battery is hands down the best I’ve ever used!!! I never though my headset could be so comfy, my mind is blown on how comfy it is. The battery lasts a good amount of time and the wheel on the back to adjust the strap is amazing , it’s very easy to adjust. This product has had a lot of thought and care put into it, I recommend this strap to EVERYONE!!!! It is a must buy , worth every penny and more!! Thank you for much Kiwi, y’all are amazing!!!
I have used the elite battery strap for a few years now and have had minor issues along with the original one snapping in multiple places. This head strap is cheaper and provides excellent comfort and battery life. It balances the headset well and allows for long sessions of play without feeling heavy on your head. If you’re looking for a reliable head strap, know that kiwi makes fantastic products and has always exceeded my expectations.
it’s really comfortable and works well for the price.
My only issue/complaint was the velcro strap on the top separated a bit at the top when un-velcroing it the first time (see picture).
But although this was a little disappointing, it doesn’t really effect the product at all, besides getting the strap threaded through initially (had to put a small piece of tape on the end so it would go through).
Otherwise highly recommend, way better then the one it comes with, and not going to look like racoon with vr-face any more when playing for too long .
Hopefully the picture I attached will prevent others from doing the same thing, you need to reach under the velcro and pull it up carefully so it won’t seperate 🙂
Love the product, by far Kiwi continues to make my favorite accessories. Their head straps are always comfortable. This one is comfortable. The only thing I would want to see is a swappable battery because I share my headset a lot so extra battery is better and a stand for charging so I can dock the headset when I am not using it. Overall very happy with my purchase.
While shopping for a headstrap for my Quest 2, I was prioritizing comfort and immersion. When I saw Kiwi will add 6400 mAh inbuilt into their exact bestseller headstrap I immediately purchased it.
Let me break it down how it has worked out for me.
I am a power user when it comes to Quest 2. I spend about 2 hours a day on it. I play immersive, narrative as well as fitness games and hence comfort is my top priority because it sustains my immersion. Kiwi headstraps are very comfortable to wear and take off as well. Quality of materials is topnotch. The headstrap is quite sturdy as well.
Now lets talk about the battery pack.
Battery pack not only adds time to the gameplays but it also removes the necessity to take off the headset, which means, you stay immersed. This battery strap feels safe when its on my head. It was able to add 3-4 hrs of game time so thats really good.
Since there is no hassle of clipping charged batteries, as this one is integrated, thats a plus.
Get this strap!
I only got it a couple weeks ago, so I can’t comment on its durability, but it feels well designed.
Very comfortable, allows for multi hour sessions without any discomfort from pressure points like the regular strap.
Good balance with the battery on the back.
The increased battery life seems to at least 2x if not 2.5x or 3x what you’d have without it.
I have a hard case that was designed to accommodate the quest 2 with the meta elite strap. The Kiwi strap is a bit of a tight fit, but the case does close on it and seems to do so safely.
This is somewhat more comfortable than the basic strap included on the Quest 2. The ratcheting tightening mechanism is much better than the sliding clips the basic one has. It’s easier to put on and take off, as well, since you don’t have to stretch elastic, and the padding is nice and soft.
That being said, it still slips around on my head when I play even moderately active games, such as Pistol Whip. If I tighten it down far enough to stay still, the pressure is too much.
Also… I don’t want to say it’s flimsy, but I managed to pop one of the pivot joints apart trying to take it off my headset, since I put it on backwards once. There’s a note that says ‘be careful to get the right and left sides straight’, but it didn’t seem to say how to identify the right and left (there are small letters stamped in the plastic near the swivels.) The joint went back together alright and seems to work, but yeah. Careful with this strap if you need to take it back off, more moving parts means more parts to break.
Anyways, I’m moderately happy with it. It is an improvement, even if it’s not quite perfect. I’ll use it for a bit and then consider another strap, maybe.
My sister and I both purchased these the same day. What a difference in comfort all around. The added battery pack is also a huge bonus. No longer are our games cut short to recharge. Can’t say any more positives. If your looking at it, buy it. Just a caution on assembly that wasn’t clear to me..then removing existing headset strap, the rigid piece on the unit does not come off. It is a cover on the existing strap which is like a cap.
Feels balanced on my head and very comfortable. Would recommend to anyone looking for a upgrade in comfort and long lasting battery. Thank you kiwi designs!
I use my oculus for not only streaming but for weight loss, I will play for over and hour at a time (sometimes needing to plug in to continue)
This really provides a substantial difference in weight distribution to make it so much more comfortable on my face.
The ability to easily modify the tightness with a dial is fantastic.
The ability to flip the set up isnt as awesome as I hoped it would be, as the weight typically makes it very unstable, but its still really an amazing addition to anyone that plays for extended periods of time
I ordered this headstrap for my Quest 2 a while ago. I was happy with the sturdiness of the strap and found it comfortable.
Unfortunately through what seemed like just extraordinarily bad luck one side of the headstrap the part that mounted to your headset developed a crack. It still worked fine but the crack was still a cause of concern.
I contacted customer support and they were extremely professional about this. I got a quick response and was mailed a replacement that arrived just two days later.
Kiwi Design released a good headstrap for a decent price and provides excellent customer service that lets their customers know they are valued and that Kiwi Design is not just another brand.
Compared to only the head strap that came with the headset, this is so much better. I like how it really conforms to my head/face and stays stable when I move around. Sometimes I move around a lot and sometimes I don’t move around as much but it doesn’t matter if I look up, down, move around, side to side, whatever. This thing doesn’t slip. Maybe I have it on too tight to my face but I really like it. I am going to try more accessories from this brand. I am really happy that I read the reviews and chose this product, it’s just so much better than the strap that comes with the device.
With the stock Quest 2 strap, I wondered how people could play long enough to run out of battery. Most of the weight rested above my eyes and gave me a headache after not much more than an hour of playing. With this head strap it feels like a whole different headset. The Kiwi head strap fits my head really well and takes a lot of the weight off my forehead and ever since installing it I have not had any issues with headaches. I was also able to find some premade models to 3D print cable holders for USB cables to connect the Quest to my PC, which made it feel like a proper PCVR headset.
Adjusting for different sized heads is also drastically easier compared to the stock strap, making it easier for me to swap the headset between people for games like Takelings House Party or just for introducing new people to VR.
Adjusting this headset for personal use is also much easier with this head strap. I was actually able to get this head strap to hold the Quest 2 at the proper location and angle which made the view significantly less blurry. I didn’t actually realize just how much visual quality I was missing with the old strap.
I would definitely recommend this head strap as an upgrade to the stock strap.
I originally bought the Bobo one with the battery pack. I absolutely hated it. Too heavy and it did not fit on my head right. I couldn’t get it down on my head far enough for it to be comfortable. I tried so many ways to make it work but it didn’t. So I read about the Kiwi one and a lot of people also liked it. So I figured what the hell, lets give it a shot. Do not buy the Bobo one. Buy this one! It is soooo comfortable and it doesn’t move around on your head like the Bobo one did. The fit around the head and down on the head is perfect. My face doesn’t hurt at all, the padding is great. So glad I changed to this one.
I do really like this head strap, and honestly I’ve been using it wrong for months. I never properly adjusted the strap on the top of the head, so for months the backing rested towards the upper back of my head.
After using it properly, I feel like this nailed it as far as properly grabbing on my head like helmet.
Here’s unfortunately why I feel like I can’t give this 5 stars. I have no idea if there are any 5 star headsets for the quest 2. While the battery is inside the quest, the frontal weight is just too much to deal with for long periods of time. This Kiwi strap does a decent job sending some weight to the back, but more weight just isn’t the solution. This is likely the best case scenario, especially if you are trying to reduce motion sway.
You have to get the tuning just right, but even then you’ll start to feel the weight pulling on your head from the top of the strap to the front of your face. This is likely as good as it gets for Quest 2
Before I review:
1. Headphone Users – The ONLY downside to this head strap is that the way it’s built doesn’t really allow for you to wear headphones over your Quest 2 unless they’re absurdly wide. If that’s a concern, I’d look into something shaped a little differently (Such as the BOBOVR M2, which I personally found to be really unbalanced and uncomfortable – but I’m told that adding weight to the back helps. Do with that information what you will.)
I personally prefer using some high-quality earbuds (or even just the stock speakers) so this doesn’t impact my score at all – but I find it worth mentioning.
2. I recently saw that KIWI is now offering a head strap with a built-in battery (look for “Battery Head Strap” on their website) but after having set this one up with a small battery harness (also sold by KIWI on Amazon, search “KIWI design 3 in 1 Battery Strap”) and a cheap 10,000mah battery bank (that I originally bought for keeping my phone charged on hikes) I see no reason to make the switch – it’s perfect just the way it is.
Anyway… On to the review:
This is easily the first accessory that any Quest 2 owner should pick up.
I generally avoid 3rd-party accessories for gaming hardware. I mean, everyone knows that the “Official” products are better, right?
Not this time.
The stock strap is always either too loose or too tight and, after a little while, it just starts to loosen up on its own… so then you over-tighten it and end up with a headache.
KIWI somehow makes products that exceed the official Meta accessories in quality while offering them at a lower price (sometimes a LOT lower). It’s just mind-blowing to me that Meta/Facebook sets their retail prices staggeringly high and yet can’t offer a fraction of the quality that KIWI does (like their 16ft link cable that literally outperforms the official Oculus/Meta link cable at a fraction of the cost)… not to mention that the official “Elite” strap offered by Meta is so cheap and brittle that it snaps like balsa wood.
Incredibly comfortable, super easy to install, and if you add on a cheap USB battery (doesn’t everyone have a few of these now-a-days?) it’s the perfect setup for those day-long VR sessions.
There’s something so satisfying about the clicks as you tighten the knob… knowing that once you’re comfortable, it’s going to stay that way.
This upgrade singlehandedly improved my experience to the point that I could easily double or triple the length of my gaming sessions just because of the comfort difference.
I’ve never been this comfortable in the Quest 2, and I know I’ll be getting all my Quest accessories from KIWI from now on.
Easy to setup and deffo the worth the extra bit of money to have the comfort.
Super comfortable and i can play for as long as i want with comfo
Ici, on a plusieurs avantages :
Having used my quest 2 for a couple of months I was in need of upgrading the standard head strap as it would come to lose and the headset would not stay in place when using it. This became a bit frustrating and uncomfortable when using it for long periods. However, this head strap solve these issues and the ability to tighten it to my head prevented it from moving around while using it. The instructions are also easy to follow which made installing them simple!
It really helps emerce you into the world of VR, only issue is that its a little pricey(:
I tested the headstrap as my friend had it and I immediately oredered it. Added bonus as it was on sale.
This should be the default head strap for the Quest 2 imho. For my needs and head it’s perfect and very well made. Excellent design and love the minimalist packaging.
Don’t buy a bobo m2 pro if you don’t like halo straps, if you like a battery get a battery pack (Mine is an Anker 10000mah slim PD, and also get one with usbc output) If you need more playtime which you will do.
Pros:
Comfortable
Tight
Reliable-ish
Cons:
Plastic inbetween headset and the back seems a bit thin, but no cracking so far.!
Bought this to replace a BoboVR M2 strap that suffered the dreaded cracking and thought I’d test this out.
I find it less comfortable, though a tad more secure. Probably why it’s less comfortable as it definitely squeezes the face harder. It also has one of the components already splitting apart, although I’m pretty sure this is manufacturing error rather than any consistent flaw with KIWI’s design. It does seem to do a better job of shutting out extraneous light, too.
I guess I just prefer the way the BOBO works. I think there would be just as many who prefer this but it’s not for me.
I couldn’t decide between a halo style head strap and this one but having had a good experience with their grips and an excellent customer service interaction with them, I decided to take the plunge. Previously I was using some 3D printed attachments for the stock strap that were performing pretty well but were just not as comfortable with my makeshift padding from old packaging materials.
This head strap feels high quality and even looks OEM. It was pretty easy to install, one small nit I have is that there is some play at the attachment points but I have played through very vigorous games and exercise apps with the head strap staying solidly on my face and attached to the Quest 2. The gear at the back let’s you dial in the tightness and hinge on the arm let’s you pop the headset up onto your forehead without taking the whole unit off your head. That’s awesome if you need to adjust something in your room or talk to someone or do something in the real world before jumping back into the metaverse. Since the arms where the straps attach are also adjustable (they tilt up and down), you can actually adjust the headset to relieve pressure from your cheeks and distribute it more evenly along your face.
Love the product and it let’s me game for a lot longer just because of how comfortable it is. I no longer get headaches from the stock strap digging into the back of my head. It can be awkward to use over the ear headphones with this setup but the padded top strap definitely adds to the comfort so I don’t thing I would give that up. I highly recommend this strap and this brand, Kiwi makes great products and they stand behind them!
Very comfortable to wear, far better than the standard one it comes with.
This is a really comfortable strap but it doesn’t fit into the official oculus case – even it was advertised so.
Wish it did though as it was really comfortable but I don’t want to leave my oculus just because of its bulky strap.
This strap has been a godsent. I can play without that default strap nor do I have to purchase the faulty pro strap. This is comfortable enough and does the job in holding the set to my face.
Bought for my son and can tell from the usage these are just the ticket, one extremely happy lad who was a pleasure to watch even opening the box and fitting. He gives this two thumbs up all round.
give a nice snug feel to the head and are easy to remove as I wear glasses, loosen the back and slid up then pull the head set off your face instead of trying to fit an elastic strap onto your head and pull the goggles over your face, brilliant well worth the money
Works perfectly and is exactly what’s needed for a great price poi
Worth putting money into. Especially if ur new so you dont feel that discomfo
I have tried a few 3rd party straps now. I think around 5 and they all hurt my head after an hour or so of using the headset. Kiwi’s one however, holy cow this is perfect! It has the thickest padding out of all the ones I have tried and really takes the weight off your face and neck. I finally finished Half-Life Alyx, something I was finding hard due to the headaches caused by the other straps. I found myself in game for 3.5 hours without feeling any bad effects from this strap. Yes, I’ve tried others with the same sort of design, the ones with the fast tighten at the back of the head, but this one blows the others out of the water. Its even better than the Elite strap!
