Great lock, very heavy though at almost 5kg, but attached to an e-bike you won’t notice the extra weight. The chain looks like many opportunist thieves would avoid bothering to cut it. If they try I’m sure they will be there a very long time. BUY IT
Great quality chain and lock. Not saying it is thief proof, but would definitely slow a thief down and also act as a deterant. I’d buy it again.
Nobody has managed to get through it yet. Big and bulky so must have the scare factor as well
Das Schloss ist sehr robust und sieht auch optisch mchtig stabil aus. Es sollte Diebe ebenso beeindrucken!
Die Kettenglieder und auch die Verschlussmechanik selbst geben einen Eindruck absoluter Unverwstlichkeit ab.
Lediglich vor erster Anwendung ist anzuraten, die beweglichen Teile mit Maschinenl (kein Synthetikl) etwas beweglicher zu machen, damit das Einbringen des Schlssels und seine Beweglichkeit beim ffnen / Schlieen immer stressfrei vonstatten gehen.
Das Schloss ist wirklich sehr robust und lsst sich auch gut schlieen.
I love it. It’s a friggin tank. I still worry too much to leave it outside every night at home as a properly planned robbery could still cut through anything with enough time…but parking where i go during the day feels safe AF. (I only worry about the strength of what I’m attaching to as this chain always seems tougher)
Nice bit of kit, very thick and is very weighty.

This lock is almost indestructibe, I have had a couple of these before, and sold them with the bikes, nobody ever tried their luck with them.

Obviously Kryptonite locks are always premium. You feel safe, however, we all know there isn’t such thing as safe safe but really nice lock.
The lock and chain are heavy and Durable to feel well crafted looks and feels very stout. But getting extra keys made from where I got the lock is taking forever and a day. But love the product feel name and safety that it Provides. Buy it your won’t regret it.

Make no mistake: if someone wants to steal your bike, they will, no matter what you try to protect it with. This thing only buys you time, and a lot at that. Hard like dragon scales, you need special equipment to break it, and by that time you may deter someone from taking your bike, especially if you put it to your basement or somewhere with difficult access.
It has 2 downsides: it’s too short for holding more than 2 bikes, and too heavy to carry with you anywhere. But if that doesn’t matter to you (for example if you keep your 1-2 bikes in your basement), then it’s great option.
I’ve had two bikes so far first one was stolen never to be seen again, ;c ,so I bought this chain. It has served me well. The keys will warp if kept too close to exhaust pipes, but I’d say that’s not their fault though. For those wondering how that happens, my ignition switch is bellow my tank on the left side leaving the others on my key chain to dangle Infront of my exhaust headers.
As others pointed out, it SEEMS like the shackle is same as evolution….I could be wrong, as I haven’t taken it apart, though I suspect the core might be shared with fahgetabboudit, which is a good lock. There’s nothing to stop you pairing this with a fahgetabboudit mini lock which would make this a bit of a challenge for anything without an angle grinder.
Chain itself is heavy duty and 14mm. For a bike it’s probably JUST at the point where you cannot thread through wheels spokes, however if you are only planning to lock the frame, this is fine. It’s a lock for use at home or leaving at work for use there, as it’s at least 5kg and bulky.
For a motorbike however this might be ideal.
As with all kryptonite locks you can register for theft protection, or more usefully, lost keys. The latter in particular as there is no way you are going to cut through this without an angle grinder and some patience.
In terms of value, if you want a beast if a lock for home, it’s good, especially if your bike is an expensive one.
For max, swap the shackle for a fahgetabboudit mini, you probably will delay any thief significantly at very least.
I’ll point out one thing…. The Dutch ART ratings system do have cheaper locks at a fraction of the price with same rating but if you are outside continental Europe sold secure is demanded by insurers. This leaves you with fewer options and those was my reason for purchasing this. It does the job.
Welches Sge und Trennwerkzeug du auch immer verwendet mchtest um dieses Stahlmonster gewaltsam zu ffnen, es wird kaputt gehen. Und falls du vor hast dir frs Handeltraining ein paar Gewichte zuzulegen. Top, fr alle Bereichen schweitreibend zu nutzen. Also, falls mein Motorrad jemals geklaut wird und diese Ketten gesprengt werden, . . dann nur .. Chuck Norris ! ^^
Uso questa catena per la mia ebike e mi sento al sicuro quando la lascio in citt, kryptonite offre anche un’assicurazione molto vantaggiosa
Habe das Schloss am beleuchteten Theatervorplatz um einen Laternenpfahl herum benutzt. Nach der Theatervorstellung waren sowohl das Fahrrad als auch Schloss und Kette gestohlen. Also trotz vermeintlich hoher Diebstahlsicherung Totalverlust. Aussage der Polizei und der Versicherung: Totale Diebstahlsicherung fr Fahrrder gibt es nicht, besonders Diebe, die gezielt suchen, finden einen Weg zum klauen; am Besten, mit einer alten Mhre fahren.
Die kette ist sehr massiv und daher schwer aber geknackt bekommt das keiner….
It’s a tiny bit short but other than that it’s great! Very secure.
I am using it for a motorcycle in combination with the arbus alarm disc lock. I think someone determined could get through it, but when I have been to London on my trips my bike was still there when I had to go home 🙂

This is not something that you will want to carry around – too heavy. I oiled the lock and it operates smoothly. Used to secure my e-bike to a wall at home. I guess a session with an angle grinder might break it open, but that’s going to take a while …. other means should take a LOT longer ….
The welds on my chain look to be thicker than the links c.f. other reviews.
Heavy duty chain and lock which is used on vintage scooter when leaving. It deters the opportunistic thief. Sadly with Corless tools I’m sure it would be defeated. But great product for quick temporary security.
Benutze das Schloss seit Mrz fr mein Motorrad um es doppelt zu sichern und bin sehr zufrieden.
Es wirkt zum einen abschreckend durch die massive Kette und zum anderen ist es noch handlich genug.
Der Schutzmantel um die Kette hlt bis jetzt noch, wobei sich die Schrift schon verabschiedet hat. Bleibt auch hoffentlich dabei.

attenzione, pesa veramente tanto, io non potevo farne a meno perch la ulock non bastava ad agganciare la mia bici al palo e il cavo in dotazione non serve a niente, a me lo hanno tagliato due volte in pochi secondi, ma pensateci seriamente.
io la attorciclio intorno al tubolare della bici, sotto la sella e non si sente molto, ma vi assicuro che quando la prenderete in mano la prima volta reterete sorpresi.
What can be said. Its heavy and definately not easy to get through. Lock can be used as a disc lock when put and about too which is handy.
Don’t get me wrong, the quality is top notch, I should have got the longer one though. It’s ok used for ONE MTB – if you have space to run it through your frame and still be able to reach an anchor point… without scratching your frame!! For 2 or more MTB’s, deep get the longer chain…
The hasp can be a pain in the backside as well – it’s tricky to get it lined up and back into the lock sometimes.
The lock isn’t very smooth either….
Only disadvantage is the weight of this thing. Best suited to fixed location use.

This is a VERY heavy chain. Too heavy, I would think, for most to want to carry around daily on a bicycle. It’s more of a motorbike chain than a bicycle chain. That said, I’m sure it is very secure and would take the average crook with an angle grinder significantly longer to get through then a normal bicycle chain.
mein E-Lastenbike steht bisher sicher. Die Kette und Schloss sind hllenschwer, also nur fr meinen Dauerparkplatz (Schloss bleibt dran) und nix zum mitnehmen. Kette ist leider nichtvollstndig ummantelt, wennman u vorsichtig ist, gibt es Lackschden am Rad.
Bei der Handhabung zeigt sich deutlich der Gedanke vor Diebstahl und Aufbruch zu schtzen, ein Schloss um sicher Dauerhaft abzuschlieen,
Nachteil ist das hohe Gewicht, wie Stoff Auenhlle knnte lnger sein um die Kette vollstndig abzudecken
Es eignet sich gut als schloss an einem Dauerparkplatz.
Gut ist dass ich das kleine Bgelschloss von der Kette lsen kann, so bleibt die schwere Kette am Dauerparkplatz fixiert oder abgeschlossen mit einem anderen schloss.
So kann man auch das kleine Bgelschloss mit einer leichten Kette fr unterwegs benutzen, ebenfalls gut und flexibel
It seems a very solid chain but hard to say exactly as never tried to break it but would def had a hard time. I’d say go for the longer one though if using it for a push bike and fixing to a walk or floor. Not cheap but feels like it is quality
I recently purchased a fairly expensive e-bike.
I opted for three heavy chains and three stout locks, each by a different manufacturer.
The other two chains have the feature where the last link on one of of the chain is a little larger.
The end with links the same size as the rest can then pass through this larger link, and the lock can be secured in a way where the lock’s bolt is hidden away entirely by it’s shroud and the chain.
This chain doesn’t have that feature, so neither of the heavy locks (Squire SS65CS & Abus 37/80) are able to be used with this chain.
This chain comes with a mini Kryptonite U-Lock which passes through both ends of the chain and then secures the same as any other U-Lock style lock.
The U-Lock is thicker than the chain and that makes the chain the weak link again (same as the two other locks with the Abus chain).
I bought the combo for having a slightly shorter chain which would pass one end through the other and use the Abus and Squire locks.
That isn’t possible with this one.
No lock is going to be 100% secure, but each of the three are more secure than the chain, and the chain is hardened with 16mm links.
I wouldn’t want to leave the bike outside overnight, but with three chains/locks securing it inside a security fence and beside two cameras, I’m comfortable commuting to work with it.
The chain is quite heavy so maybe not ideal to carry with you but very well made and solid combination. Works well with a floor anchor. Don’t forget to register within 30 days to benefit from the free insurance.

Really solid bit of kit. When you lock this to your bike and an immovable object like a ground anchor, it gives real piece of mind. A determined bike thief with the right tools and enough time can break through any lock, but this looks like it would make a theft so time consuming that it would deter a lot of your average thieves.
Daher benutze ich das Fahgettaboudit Bgelschloss anstelle. Insgesamt habe ich 2 New York Kettenschlsser sie das Fahrrad mit den Bgelschlssern absichern. Die Ketten habe ich mit 2 weiteren Bgeschlsser an ein altes Fahrrad angeschlossen. Das alte Fahrrad habe ich so gesichert, dass es nicht mit dem E-Bike weggetragen wird. Ganz schn viele Schlsser ;). Aber der Aufwand hat sich jetzt nach ein paar Wochen gelohnt. Denn bei den Nachbarn wurde vor ein paar Tagen das Schloss von einem Ebike mit einer Baustellen-Eisenstange ! aufgebrochen. Unseres nicht.
+ Laut Testberichten auf YouTube kann man die Kette sehr schwierig knacken. Selbst Hydraulik-Zangen scheinen ihr nichts anzutun.
+ Die Gre, Strke und Form der Metall-Glieder machen das Knacken mit einer Zange wohl unmglich. Nur eine Flex und die ist ja ziemlich laut und die wenigsten Diebe scheinen so etwas in der ffentlichkeit zu nutzen.
+ Die Kette ist sehr robust. Die Qualitt ist sehr gut.
! Es kann natrlich sein, dass schwere Kette Fahrradbesitzer nervt. Ich sehe das selbst nicht als Problem an, da ich es hauptschlich dafr nutze, um das Rad ber Nacht im Hof abzuschlieen.

Super solid and recommended. 1 mt length is enough to wrap the chain around the weel/frame of the motorcycle but I suggest to go for 1.5 m in general. It s quite heavy and overall the chain + the locker give an high sense of security. Lets make it clear “if someone wants to steal your bike there is no existing way to prevent it. No matter what you buy and how much money you spend.”
Anyway thanks to this chain and locker I tend to sleep better when my baby is outside or locked up in the garage.
I think any potential thief would be put off before even attempting to tackle this beast. It just looks like it would be impossible to break into. Both it’s sturdiness and thickness make this item extremely good value for money. I would recommend the lock to anyone looking to protect their valuable equipment.
This product is very high quality, strong enough for my cargo bike which is worth alot of money. A trust worthy product. Just make sure you follow good maintenance and buy a sound alarm as a further deterrent for thieves
This is a really heavy duty chain to deter any opportunistic thieves if you use it to lock your bike to an immovable object. It is meant to be resistant to most forms of attach but anyone with a grinder and time will eventually get through. Well worth the money and delivered within a day so great service too
Natrlich bietet diese ultimative Kette einen sehr hohen Diebstahlschutz. Allerdings sind 5 kg Kettengewicht fr das Schloss in Zeiten leichter Rder etwas absurd. An dem Rad meiner Tochter macht das Schloss jetzt 25% der Gesamtkonstruktion aus . Aber Abschreckend ist es natrlich und sicherlich auch nur mit hohem Aufwand zu berwinden. Leider ist aber schon nach wenigen Wochen der Verschlusshaken im Schloss korrodiert und erst mit WD 40 wieder gngig gemacht worden. Das darf nicht passieren bei einem solchen Schloss.

Sicuramente solida, sicuramente da non portarsi dietro, il peso e l’ingombro ne determinano un utilizzo nel luogo in cui parcheggi il tuo mezzo. Nel caso della mia bicicletta elettrica devo dire che la lunghezza quella minima per chiuderla con l’anella kryptonite al suolo, se non ti trovi perfettamente sopra meglio prendere quella da 150cm
Very thick and heavy should do the job to deter theft, i had to refit the battery in the key light as it was flittering.

Ein sehr robustes einwandfreies Schloss was denke ich viele Gelegenheitsdiebe abschrecken kann. Einer Akkuflex wird’s nicht stand halten. Aber ich kenne auch kein Schloss das dass kann. Einzig Zeit kann man schinden und so viel Lrm wie mglich vom Dieb verursachen lassen.
Mich strt etwas die Lnge. Die Kette htte ruhig 20cm lnger sein drfen das man es auch leichter frs Mopet nutzen kann. So ist es schon sehr schwer mit einem Meter die Kette am Mopet und an einem festen Gegenstand zu befestigen.

Really sturdy and I think the look of it really deters theft. The chain is quite heavy but still fine for an ebike. Only downside though – the lock has rusted within 6 weeks because I’ve been riding and storing the bike in the rain. Because of this the lock can sometimes seize and you have to wiggle it around to unlock or add some oil. Would still recommend though!!
Gran candado que brinda una proteccin enorme para tu vehculo (bicicleta en mi caso).
Su peso es enorme, pues cadena y cerradura rondan los 5 Kg en una bicicleta que apenas llega a los 9.
Sin embargo es muy recomendable a causa de la seguridad tanto de la cadena (en especial sus soldaduras) como de la cerradura.
Trae tres llaves de las que desconozco si se pueden hacer copias o no, pero es una de las principales ventajas respecto a los candados estndar que traen dos y no pueden fotocopiarse en la cerrajera media espaola.
El entornos desiguales como los suelos empedrados destaca el peculiar y escandaloso sonido que da: uno parece un reo medievalista.
En ocasiones la cerradura s que me ha parecido un tanto conflictiva, pero nada mayor. Generalmente es un candado que por su grosor no vas a llevar envuelto en la tija del silln.
Catena robusta e pesantissima da trasportare, ma sicuramente difficile da tagliare con una cesoia. Il lucchetto piccolo ma robusto, si pu usare anche come blocca disco . Unica pecca, a volte si blocca e faccio fatica ad aprirlo.

Diese Kette ist die Mutter aller Ketten, das Ma aller Dinge, DER Standard wenn es darum geht etwas sicher abzuschlieen! Durch diverse Youtube-Videos inspiriert, habe ich mir dieses Monster nun gekauft und was soll ich sagen…..WOW! Ich bin versucht mein E-Bike mit dieser Kette am Bahnhof abzustellen um zu sehen ob sie hlt was sie verspricht 🙂 Wenn ich jetzt noch einen Behlter finden wrde der dieses Monster an meinem Bike unterbringen kann dann wre ich glcklich. Vielen Dank an Kryptonite, auch was die inkludierte kostenlose Diebstahlversicherung ATPO (Anti-Theft Protection Offer) bis 4.000.- Euro angeht.
Sehr stabil und sehr schwer. Etwas fummelig, da 3 Teile zusammen zu bringen sind, was unter Spannung schwierig sein kann. 1Meter ist nicht allzu lang, ggf. sollte man ber die 1,5m Variante nachdenken.
I used to worry that it wouldn’t be a good enough lock but i promise you it does the job you need it to do.
TRUE STORY: I was coming out of a store one day. A man came up to me and my scooter and told me that he was planning on stealing my scooter but when he ran up to take it, he seen I had this lock and literally waited there to tell me that I did a “good Job choosing a lock” cuz he was gunna steal my scooter till he saw my lock.
Strong chain and a good length. My only problem so far is that it seems the inside of the lock has corroded and is very tricky to open, I’m worried that one day it’ll seize for good and my bike will be stranded.
Ein richtiges Monsterschloss. Habe mir das Schloss fr mein E-bike gekauft, nachdem ich zig Testberichte ber Fahrradschlsser gelesen habe. Es sieht sehr solide aus, ist aber auch wirklich schwer. Kann man locker auch als Hantel benutzen. 3 Schlssel sind dabei, einer davon mit blauem Licht. Eine Versicherung ist inklusive, wenn man sich online registriert. Bleibt abzuwarten, ob es auch sicher ist. Sicherheitsstufe mit 10 von 10 angegeben. Echter Nachteil ist das Gewicht. Um das Bike mal eben in der Stadt abzuschlieen, nimmt man sich am besten einen Rucksack mit. Auch wenn es ummantelt ist, wrde ich es nicht zum mitnehmen am Rad befestigen, da ich dann doch Angst htte, dass es den Rahmen verkratzt. Der Preis ist ein Wort, aber besser etwas mehr investieren, bevor das Fahrrad weg ist.
I reckon the thief that gets through this chain deserves to have the bike. It’s solid as hell, and although not easily portable or cheap, it’s going to stop all but the most determined of bicycle thieves.
