Does exactly what it says it does
There is nothing I don’t like about this product does exactly what it says it does.Thank you
Massive increase in speed
Our Three sim in my Galaxy s21 was giving circa 3 mbps. Installed this with antenna at 2.5 metres randomly located. Immediate bump up to 30 – 40 mbps. 6 devices on it – no latency. Most impressed.
The antenna is an indoor type, is it possible to change to an outdoor?
Seems to do “what it says on the tin” Possibly may need an outdoor antenna
Fantastic router, I had 1 bar of 4g at my caravan and this router worked wonders for WiFi and watching Netflix and fire stick. The advantage of external mimo antenna’s allowed me to fit an outdoor antenna which enabled me to get up to 22mb download. I would definitely recommend this router. I also needed to contact customer support who got back to me very quickly.
Great produc
I live in the country so no fiber or even good phone line to connect to the internet other than via mobile signals and even those are poor. For a long time I’ve used Huawei LTE CPE B310 and was OK(ish) 8M down 1.5M Up on Three i.e. we could stream films etc, but over the last few months often no signal or even slower signal, so after trying to fix the problem with bigger aerials I finally decided to try the Kuma LiTe 4G. I wasn’t sure since it had such a small aerial, but now get a solid 12M down and 8M up, often getting 16M down and 9M up with the supplied aerial (in the attic). Some of my previous issue I think was the number of connected devices (surprising how they mount up). The Kuma can handle many more connected devices and also has a much stronger internal signal so no issue with it being in the attic and TV / other devices being on the ground floor opposite corner of the house (No signal with the Huawei) – so great produc
Always had good products from kuma
I have this installed for remote cctv monitoring with an EE data sim
Excellent 4g signal I use a remote antenna Wifi at 250m no problems
Have another in the motorhome again excellent even in remote areas
Well recommended no setting up just plug sim card in and go
Great device for mobile working
Really impressed with this product. In the past, I was using my mobile phone as a wifi hotspot to work while travelling. Now, I’m looking into full-time van-life and was looking for a solution to have reliable internet on the go. A real plus is the antenna, especially in areas where the mobile signal is weak. But even the router on its own provides great performance in places where public wifi isn’t available. What I would have loved to see in addition would be something to mount the antenna permanent to my van.
I have used it as an access point for internet on a remote construction site. It was fairly easy to set up and the signal strength is good.
It came with a Three SIM card which was useful and provided the best internet connection but took a lot to get set up on the mobile phone side of things! If you are not a Three account holder you get directed to set up an account, but in order to verify the account, it sends a text message to the number associated with the SIM. Which all should be fine except the user interface with the modem does not have the facility to receive SMS messages! Which makes the whole process pointless! That said and after a bit of creative thinking, I was able to put some credit on the account and it worked a dream!
It comes with everything you need and I would definitely recommend it.
You need to be computer literate unless using either EE, Three, O2 and Vodafone.
The router is small and battery powered, ideal for mobile use. It states that it is unlocked to all networks though that seems only to apply to the main UK providers, EE, Three, O2 and Vodafone. My Sky sim needed the APN settings altered before it connected though it did recognise O2 (Sky carrier) and would have probably connected automatically to an O2 SIM card. To finish: if you are with one of the big four then it is simple and works; if you are with a piggy back network prepare for much googling and changing of APN names and settings.
Contrary to other reviews, it can act as a WiFi repeater.
Excellent option for obtaining a WiFi signal from 3/4G mobile signal. Simple to set up and use. Provides a strong and stable connection to run your devices from. Set the wifi name and password the same as your home wifi and everything connects automatically. Other reviews say it doesn’t repeat WiFi signals, but it can, it’s in the app settings to turn this feature on.
Does what it says
We have a static on a park in west wales, the signal isn’t great as we are at the bottom of a dip, I’m with 3 and get 1 or 2 bars but can’t stream anything or use social media etc.
After a lot of research I thought I’d try this, I purchased a smarty sim and I can now stream videos to tv and use social media. Very happy
Great piece of ki
I bought this with reservations, but am so glad I did. In an area where I had virtually no signal before, I am getting up to 4 bars signal. From not even being able to open an attachment previously, I can stream music, watch videos etc. My only (tiny) criticism is that one of the two cable entry points for the antenna keeps slipping out – but having said that, I’m moving the kit regularly between locations, so I guess, if it was just in the one place permanently, this wouldn’t be an issue at all.
I have a two boys, who are glued to their tablets, and then there’s the wife. She runs her own business and has a relationship with her laptop that’s beyond odd.
We travel in our tourer caravan and it’s down to me to ensure the wifi will work. I bought a TP-LINK router that housed a SIM card, but this didn’t really do the trick. It was the same as tethering my phone.
I switch out SIMs depending on the best network coverage for the area. I do this before we depart, and on this occasion, that was Vodafone.
Despite the mast being a mile away and showing a 4G signal I was only averaging 1Mbs. Then I purchased the Kuma 4G set…..
YES!! What a result! I was now seeing 20Mbs, which was more than I was expecting. I’m really pleased with this and would highly recommend it. It took no time at all to setup.
Good
Had no signal before getting this now can get netflex
Does exactly what it says !
Now have a great internet connection in our caravan, allows us to stream from Apple TV and Amazon fire stick onto our TV. Strength of Wi-fi signal vastly improved.
Couldn’t get the free 3 sim to work, but using my own phone sim in the router for now. Didn’t work straight away, Wi-fi was available but device couldn’t receive data. Followed the video as per the instructions in the box and set up no problem.
Since then – new SIM card with another provider, did all the set up again- data wouldn’t come through – contacted Sim provider who confirmed all ok with SIM card – spoke to manufacturer- couldn’t help as purchases device through Amazon – suggested that device was locked with 1st Sim provider .. totally fed up .. Don’t change your Sim provide
4g router antenna
Overall this router and antenna works very well and is simple to use. The setup can be a little frustrating but persevere and it will perform as advertised.
The only poor item is the suction pad for the antenna. This item is useless and fails to adhere to any surface. Just ditch it and use blue tac, this is far more successful at preventing the antenna from falling off.
Suggest a re-think on how you affix the antenna, the suction cap is a failure.
Very impressed how well it worked in our carava
While on holiday in our caravan we used it to watch tv through Amazon fire stick
Great Item, easy to set up.
Great item , nice compact size and is just what I wanted.
So far so good
I have bought this to take camping in the hope of getting a signal so we can watch the olympics in our van! Not tried that yet but the device works amazingly well at home – much better WiFi signal than our actual landline WiFi! Hopefully this will be the case in Scotland too! Easy to set up and a very compact device
Excellent value
Brilliant value for money does exactly what it says. Easy to set up and use.
I wasn’t sure it would work, but it does. I’m using it in a forestry site, which is several miles (all thick with trees) from the nearest cell tower. I usually get no signal at all on my phone, unless I climb a tree. With this device, I can put the antenna twenty feet up a tree, and get reasonable Web performance when I’m on the ground.
I’m using an O2 data SIM in the unit. A Three SIM was supplied, but it didn’t work — it didn’t work even in a good signal area. I tried putting it in my phone and it didn’t work there, either. I tried to register it using the Three website, but I got some weird message about the SIM not being eligible, or something like that. I was expecting to buy a SIM, anyway, but it’s irritating that something was packed that didn’t work.
The base unit is surpisingly small — it’s all battery, in fact. The battery provides at least a few hours of charge — maybe longer, I’ve not tried. The charger socket is a standard micro-USB, so I can charge it from my car if necessary. You can change the access point name and password using a web browser. The interface is not exactly self-explanatory, but it works.
So, in an area where my phone doesn’t usually work at all, I can use voice communications apps like Zello, send and receive emails, look at weather forecasts, etc. On good days I can even watch YouTube.
My one slight complaint is that the antenna cable isn’t long enough. I reckon it would work even better if I could get the antenna forty feet up, rather than twenty. I’ve ordered an extension cable — for the record, the connector type is “TS9”, which I hadn’t previously heard of. If it improves things noticeably, I’ll update the review. To be fair, performance is already pretty good, so I’m not too fussed if raising the antenna doesn’t help.
The Wifi range (not the cellphone range) is about fifty feet from the base unit. I do not know if the Wifi signal is transmitted from the external antenna, rather than the base unit. If it is, then raising the antenna would probably increase the Wifi range as well.
Incidentally, I figured that this unit would probably work because I had already tried using my phone up a tree. I suspect that you’d have less success if you had absolutely no phone reception at all, even at height.
I was struggling to get signal of any kind from our caravan on a seasonal pitch outside Caernarfon North Wales
I bought this Kuma with reservations? However after set up the Kuma did the job and more, we can stream, and more importantly I can work from my holiday office!
I can highly recommend!
I did a lot of searching for a MiFi which can take external antenna, and it appears some models are available both with and without. So I chose this because it must have support given the antenna is included. And of course it works without the external if the signal is good enough. All simple enough to set up and get going, and I tested with and without the external antenna, and in my simple test I was able to get 4G with and only 3G without. I’m happy with my choice, and expect it to work well out in the wilds.
At Cirencester caravan club site I can either get no signal or a weak signal from 3 on my mobile phone.
Using this bit of kit I get 3 bars on the router and am able to stream from prime video on my Samsung tablet… maybe a slight bit of buffering but quite acceptable.
I have two phones and a tablet connected.
Good route
Good starter kit for the money. Up graded to a nighthawk netgear.
Improved mobile Wi-Fi.
I was sceptical that this product would work as the mobile signal in the area I use it is very poor never giving more than 1-2Mbs Now I receive up to (not always) 10Mbs. The battery does not last long if not powered up but I can live with that.
Excellent quality kit with fantastic support & service
I initially received a kit within a couple of days but couldn’t get the router to work with my sim. After a call to the manufacturer Kuma lots of advice was given but I still couldn’t get the router to work. Kuma offered a replacement which was sent as a replacement and received very quickly. I would not hesitate to buy one of their products again, first-class support with first-class service!
Grea
Got this for my caravan in Wales and finally I have good WiFi
I needed internet in a very poor reception area (side of a steep valley), the only mobile provider EE LTE4g signal is intermittant. With this i now get access to the internet 100% of the time, I can’t express how great this is..A little testing showed 2x better speed (with the external arial at the same level as the phone)…. raise the arial by a few meteres and it was 4x better 40mbps vs 10mbps. usb charging is great, although it is micro usb (usb c would be much better). The only bad point is the poor admin password, so make sure you change the default admin password before you use this device.
Get Wi-fi on the move
Great for mobile internet connection for tv/iPads etc in a Motorhome. Battery life only a few hours but otherwise really pleased
Excellent and easy to use
Great bit of kit. Easy to set up and great reception in the middle of no where.
Mobile wifi carava
Small ideal wifi for any caravan set up in a few minutes in locked any network.
I bought this for my static home in Portugal. The Portugal Internet hotspot that I had showed 4G with 3 or 4 bars on it, which was fine for the laptop and ipads, but a lot of buffering on the tv.
This product was easy to install, I have the antenna box on the inside of a window ( no drilling required ) and I get a 5 bar signal and get very little buffering on the tv
So, it’s a good product and it’s worked for me !
Useful internet dongle
The free 3 sim card could not get web site to authenticate sim, gave up bought contract sim and phone deal vodafone. The unit now works outstanding it is for my caravan so depends on signal strengths, so far better than home internet.
Neat and compac
Fairly easy to set up and used to connect my tablet and PC to the interne
Happy receptio
Had terrible problem in our lodge with EE signal ,changed to Kuma still with EE sim far better reception and able to stream
Glad we changed
Makes it easy for me to do my hoddy.
I use this product for the internet and streaming movies on my tv and use for my hoddy to downloading programs to 3D print.
ABSOLUTELY SUPERB HAVING A HOLIDAY HOME IS GREAT BUT FRUSTRATING ON MOBILE INTERNET UNTIL NOW WOULD RECOMMEND THE KUMA G KIT AND AC-DC-TV THE SUPPLIER TO ANYONE AS I ALREADY HAVE
BEST REGARDS MICK BECK
We bought this for our canal boat to bing WiFi inside the steel and with the addition of the antenna it’s perfect we get super smooth streaming using a data only SIM card
