What can I say. It’s the tried and tested formula most lego games on current gen consoles use.
Was a little disappointed there was no voice actors, so I need to explain what’s going on to my lad as we play.
The story is ok, graphics ditto. Gameplay gets repetitive after awhile, but most of the lego games do. For kids it’s fine.

My favourite Lego game
I’ve played this game on every console going except PC. Absolutely love this game. Had a few glitches and crashed 4 or 5 times on PS4 but was still able to complete 100%. I recommend this game to young and old. Pleasant, enjoyable and funny.

Bought this for my daughter whose a big Harry Potter fan. Shes 6, not played on the playstation before but shes picking up the basic buttons on how to operate. It does get a bit more tricky when you learn more spells and have to open your spell menu to use on certain things or in fights. I play alongside her and tend to do the hard stuff while she runs around exploring.
Some levels are quite tricky and requires some patience and exploring to move onto the next part of the level.
Main thing is, it’s fun and follows the films.

The children enjoyed this game. To my suprise they completed Harry Potter: Years 1-4 in less than half a day.
My wife and I have play most of the lego games there have been now and as a lover of Harry Potter this did not disappoint. Like all lego games they were fun to play, the pace kept moving, game-play was easy to pick up and we could have a laugh throughout. My only criticism would be on the second game (years 5-7) when playing co-op and the screen spins as you moving around. Just a personal preference but I prefer a fixed split screen. The movement made us both feel a bit sick and had to play in short bursts.

I’ve been playing this on and off for years (first on PC then on PS3 and now PS4) and never get bored of it. My husband recently upgraded to PS4 So I had to treat myself to this. A glitch in the PS3 version which knocked over things as you tried to jump onto them seems to have been fixed which makes play much smoother. So far I can’t fault this.

Lego Harry Potter is amazing
Just like the other Lego games this is endless hours of fun and even better that they’ve re-released it on PlayStation 4 so you can replay it on newer consoles or start playing it if you’ve never played it before. The Harry Potter theme makes it fun for all ages and it’s easy controls.

My almost 7 year old loves i
My eldest son who is almost 7 has recently caught the Harry Potter bug. He loves Lego too so this game was perfect. Some of the things aren’t easy for him to do so I help but it’s nice that we can do it together. The only thing I don’t like is that the characters don’t speak but you can still understand what is going on.

I’m halfway through this and I enjoy it for a bit of mindless entertainment but it sometimes gives me migraine. My colleague suggested that it might be because it’s so colourful. It can also get a bit frustrating to fight some of the bosses until you master the spells properly.

Ok…as a Harry Potter fan I was always destined to love this game but it far surpasses anything I expected. I have both the HP games ( years 4-5 and 5-7) on Nintendo DS and loved them but this PlayStation game is sooo much better. It’s the updated version for PS4. So you play through all of Harry’s years at school in line with the films. You collect coins, red and gold bricks and use these to buy characters and increase your abilities. You have a selection of spells to use and lots of death eaters to beat. However you also get to explore Hogwarts. This alone is like the best thing ever for a Potterhead. You can also ride on the Hogwarts express and visit London. There are also bonus levels you need to complete in Gringotts in order to get 100%. Some of the challenges are hard but help is available online. I actually had to get a map of Hogwarts as I kept getting lost….but wow…who wouldn’t want to get lost in Hogwarts. You play through all the levels once and then go through them again once all your abilities are unlocked. You can also choose which character you want to play as in freeplay. I like to play as Dumbledore as he has the best abilities of all but you get a gang of helpers and swap between them to achieve the tasks. You need Deatheaters to do quite a lot so it’s sometimes fun to play as Malfoy. This has given me hours of pleasure and as PS games go is my absolute favourite. So if you are a Harry Potter fan still waiting for your ‘letter’ then wait no longer. Get on the Hogwarts express and join the adventure.

If you like the Lego games you won’t be disappointed at all. Very funny and enjoyable as usual.
good fun, even as a slightly juvenile adult. It does get a bit repetitive in terms of the same techniques for different bosses and the same model of puzzles over and over. It is fun to play though, and as it is mainly aimed at children I guess you can’t expect a great level of complexity….I have got stuck a few times though which is a little embarrassing.

As one who loves the books and movies, I knew I would more than likely like this game too, but as someone who doesn’t play video games all that much, I was slightly worried that my lack of gaming ability would mean it would get frustrating before too long, but I got the hang of things pretty quick. It’s easy enough to keep you wanting to keep playing, but just challenging enough to not feel like you’re breezing through it without much effort.
I’m -almost- at 100% with the first half, stories 1 though 4, and will begin the second half soon. It’s definitely a game I enjoy playing, and exploring the castle and revisiting the parts of the books I loved the first time around.
Even if you’re not a big gamer, and if you love the source material, you should love this game too!

Great price for the two packs in one
Can’t go wrong with the Lego PS games. Great price for the two packs in one. Only issue is as these are older games (just polished up for PS4) the two-player split screen does the thing where the splitting line rotates around the screen as both characters move in separate directions. Kids don’t mind unless a character gets stuck. Me as an oldie find it slightly nauseating if I play it too long.

Having played the ps3 version on hp first years a long time ago which I enjoyed I decided to repurchase this on the ps4. The game play is great and is for all ages. Me and my partner play this together and have played the first years to completion so far. As long as you know what your doing it is very easy to complete. It was nice working together to do different spells and problem solving. It’s also good playing single player but there is a lot more thinking and changing characters which I found a bit frustrating in the end so I just continued playing when me and my partner had time. The first part took decent amount of time to complete and cover great parts of the hp story which I enjoyed. I would definitely give this ago especially if your a Harry potter fan like us.
