Despite many reviews saying otherwise, it was straightforward to assemble with the correct tools. I use it for storing cushions etc for garden furniture and to date has been waterproof. Just need to remember to wipe away any standing water on the lid before opening or the water drips in from the lid.

As other reviewers have found, this is not an easy click together assembly, but the end result is a very strong watertight box without flimsy, bendy panels. Before ordering, I watched a Youtube video (search for Lifetime 150 gal storage box assembly), so if you are systematic and follow the steps methodically, it’s straightforward to do: it took me two hours from start to finish. So the tradeoff is having a box which really does look as if it’ll last forever after my two hours of toil, or something which takes 15 minutes but has to be treated with kid gloves thereafter. For me, the long-term end result is more important.

Fab size storage for the garden, bigger than I thought it would be. Bought on offer & great price for the size. Had no problems putting it together. Made sure we followed the instructions as we went..

I was a bit apprehensive about ordering this after reading that people had issues with assembly. Glad I went ahead and ordered it. I watched the guide on you tube for the model I ordered ( the 150 gallon large storage box). It took me 40 mins to assemble on my own. You obviously need a power driver and a couple of spanners, but it went together no bother. It’s a very sturdy box and looks like it will stand the test of time.

Bought this box to store our outdoor cushions in.
The box was relatively easy to put together with two of us (make sure you spot the big L & R on the inside panels before starting!). We were very impressed with the quality of the box – it feels more sturdy than a lot of others we’ve seen.
The only issue we had, when we got right to the end, was that we couldn’t snap fix one end of the pistons (which give a soft open and close) on to its round lug – even using a gentle rubber mallet. We’ve had to cable tie these at one end for them to work.
Very annoyingly, there seems to be absolutely no way of contacting the manufacturers to simple get a new set of pistons. The only option, via Amazon Prime, is to return the whole box – and that’s not going to happen after building it!
Other than that – we are very impressed and would highly recommend.

Solid and substantial quality storage box

This was a challenge to put together as the holes weren’t big enough and had to be re-drilled. Cannot padlock the lid down as there is a part missing. We are having to put something on top to hold the lid closed.
On the plus side, it looks good, holds all our garden furniture cushions and appears to be watertight.

We bought this because it is bigger than most and looks attractive. We put this together in about 90 mins. Recommend a two person job. Some slots in the base needed fettling to fit properly. Otherwise simply follow the instructions and job done. The instructions state that it is not waterproof.

Perfect to store garden equipment as it keeps them dry, organised and accessible.
Easy to assemble, as everything goes where it should, but you do need two adults to complete the task.
    Instructions easy to follow.

Whilst it takes some assembling and you will need an electric screwdriver or drill to get the screws into the plastic the end product is solid and more importantly sealed against the weather. Just take your time and read the instructions with care and it all makes sense. Very good product and it’s the second one of these we have bought (the first one was for a holiday house we owned till recently) so can say that they last – the first one is 2 yrs old and no problems at all. We just use a small stainless carabiner as a means of keeping the lid firmly down.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGreat box, looks good and feels solid. It’s easy enough to assemble, but would advise two have two people especially in the first 10 minutes when you are locking all the pieces together. Also really helps to have a rubber mallet to tap things into place. Some of the screwing the bolts in would not be possible without a battery operated drill to use as a screwdriver and you will need a socket set and adjustable spanner. Providing you have these couple of tools everything should be fine. I was impressed enough to buy another one.

Easier to build if you have two people

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIncredibly difficult to assemble even with the videos. The written instructions should really be much better with clearer pictures. They tell you to use a drill but there isn’t enough room to do this, it’s quite fiddly. We eventually finished it and are pleased with the finished product. Even though at present we can only get one of the gas springs to fit. Work in progress! It says it’s not waterproof so I bought a cover. Quite spacious and I’m pleased to be able to store the cushions and seat covers. It also needs a lock.

Hood quality item, had a little difficulty with one of the corners due to a little damage but managed to sort. A lot better quality than the keter shed I have and seems really sturdy. Preferably use two to build unless you have three hands. I have added a ring sensor quite easily. Seems really good quality , good accessories and fab instructions with links to the internet.

The product was efficiently packaged, in one box. The assembly instructions were easy to follow, and came in six languages (if I’m remembering correctly, English, Spanish, French. German. Dutch, and Danish). Assembly tools are not included, but if one has a set of wrenches, sockets, and screwdrivers, one can get by. A rubber mallet is also handy. The majority of the parts fit together easily. My unit had two hinge bolts that were stubborn getting installed, but the unit is plastic, and I enlarged the offending holes with a screwdriver. The completed unit appears weatherproof, has a soft close lid, that opens greater than 90 degrees, which means it stays open when needed.

Bought this to store the cushions from an outdoor dining set. Fits the eight cushions with room to spare, but it’s a pretty big box! Bit early to assess whether it’s weatherproof, but it’s survived a couple of hefty showers and the contents remained dry! Construction was OK, but had to take some care when fitting some of the screws which went straight into plastic! Don’t recall seeing (before reading the instructions) that you needed two different sizes of spanner, and that for one part of the installation you needed them both at the same time to counter rotate, but thankfully I had an adjustable spanner handy! Using my drill definitely helped. All in all I’m pretty pleased, but it’s early days – so far so good!

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersHaving read the reviews, the one very thing in common is the lack of pre-drilled holes for the screws to go in. If you do it in a hurry, there’s a good chance the fittings won’t be right and that means the rest of the fittings won’t sit right either. Here are some tips:

    1. Don’t guess or do it in a hurry unless you are a professional!
    2. Take time to familiarise yourself with the accessories on each section.
    3. Section 1.1 paid attention to the enlarged drawing of the Wall Square Tube, there is a HOLE and watch which way it goes into the left side panel. You I’ll find this is important especially in section 2.10 – 2.12 where the pre-drilled holes are located on the door handle area. If you already pushed the AHS part in but you realise it’s the wrong way round, it will be very difficult to get it out again. I haven’t found a way but fortunately I took my time and didn’t get to this situation.
    4. If you plan to build by yourself, you can use chairs to hold other part upright as in section 1.4
    5. Building the foundation from section 1.6 to 1.11, you must get it right and secured the panels to the base, the parts must slot in. Watch how section 1.5 tells you to slide the panel toward the rear of he front panel and this is the same for 1.10.
    6. Section 1.11, the design is a bit odd here but for the Screws ADX), pre-drill the holes will make work easier and this means take you time and ensure this is tight. I don’t use power drill here in case it over tightens and something breaks. This is the base so getting his part fitted tight is essential.
    7. And where you see the area to put the screws in but there are no markers, pre-drill the hole first – so this is where It takes up more time.
    8. From 1.14 the roof section, put something heavy like some weights of 5 – 10kg to hold down the roof while you drill the screws in. Just watch where you placed the weights and moved them around to support.
    9. Section 2.6 just watch carefully with the word Chamfered just in case you never hears of it. Look at the diagram should help you decide which way round the hinge should be facing.
    10. If you reach 2.22 and you don’t need to secure it to a wall, you are done!

I managed to build it perfectly and the door lock fits, though the door does need a bit of force ( push the lower part of the door as you shut it and the part DGR / S secure the door from gaping..
Avoid putting anything heavy in the roof as it is only plastic, it will bend slightly. It does get warm and hot if you place it where the sun shines directly on it, there are no air vent.

So far 4 star out of 5 due to lack of pre-drilled holes but otherwise it looks and feel sturdy. Really pleased with the effort.

8/11/2022 – after 6 months , I will check and review the product after it’s been exposed to the elements with photo if possible.
11/2/2022 – checked inside. Looks good all storage inside, no cracks or anything broken or splitted Tiny foliage / leaves managed to get inside on floor but these are minor. The front you can see slight stain but it’s not a problem. The top / roof section looks good no damage. The back looks good too no crack or damage. The price paid back in June/July 2022 was around 195. So this was a good purchase. I noticed some people here mentioned they paid much higher like over 300-500?? Crazy dynamic pricing. I think under 200 is worth buying, 250 would be a stretch. Hope this 6 months review help you decide. The main focus is to ensure the base foundation is solidly built. A buyer mentioned sealing the inside to stop water from getting inside. Interesting tip!

Pre-drill holes if possible and take time to build i

Was dreading assembling this as my husband hates DIY but between us we found it ok to build. One of the gas pistons unfortunately did not fit so we had to contact lifetime and a new part was sent ( from the USA) Anyway it is sturdy, looks good , is water proof and got for a good price ( 95). The lid seems to be very slightly warped maybe with the heat so it does pop up occasionally at one side. Fits all my cushions which was the main aim so I have in it 5 large seat cushions, 5 padded back cushions and 2 stool cushions

4.0 out of 5 stars Keeps the cushions dry!

This appears to be a good quality product. However, this is not that easy to assemble and you do need a variety of tools which are not supplied I.e. spanner’s, mallet, electric drill etc. I have only had the product a few days but it kept our subbed cushions dry in a substantial thunder storm the other night so it has passed the weatherproof test with flying colours. Overall I would recommend this product as long as you have a good selection of tools and a reasonable aptitude towards building these sort of items

4.0 out of 5 stars Good quality produc

Just finished assembling and am really happy with the result. It’s quite rigid and feels like it’s going to be fine outside.

I can see light through the joins between the bottom and front/back so while I don’t doubt it’s going to be fine vs rain, if a puddle of more than a couple inches forms, water won’t have any trouble getting in. Make sure it’s not living at a low-drainage spot.

Assembly was kindofa pain, but I did complete it by myself. The front/back panels were especially hard – make *sure* the little pegs are all the way in. I’d even recommend getting them started a little then standing it up on edge and taking a close look at how the parts interact. I think there are some build/QA things the manufacturer could do here to make this easier – it was far more work than it should have been to get it right. A few of the tabs weren’t well-formed or had thick seams that made it reluctant to seat correctly.

Also, the holes in the hinges didn’t line up with the plastic. Because this is a bolt instead of a pointy screw, it won’t self-tap/center. If you have problems here, try putting the bolt in from the inside instead – start at the metal instead of the plastic.

Would buy this again but would definitely set aside more time for assembly.

Reading some of the reviews on this box, I thought it might be a bit of a nightmare to assemble. However, I downloaded the official YouTube video and had it built quite quickly. The only slight issue was that the holes in the sides to secure the hinges were a bit tight to get the bolts through but a couple of taps with a hammer sorted that. Overall a sturdy, well-made box. It rained for several hours after I had it built, but the next morning my cushions inside were dry although they did get a little wet when I opened the lid. Next time I will wipe the rain off before I open it!

This is a high quality deck box that stood up to a pretty intense rain storm during our initial testing with no leaks. Once fully assembled the lid closes securely and the seams all around are tight. The issues we encountered were in two specific assembly steps. First, when you attach the front and back sides to the bottom the tabs along the lower edges that slide into slots are extremely tight. It took two of us to push down hard while hammering the end with a rubber mallet to finally slide the sides into place. Second, the mounting holes along the sides panels where the hinges for the top attach were misaligned quite a bit to the extent that the bolts could not be inserted. I had to use a drill to enlarge the holes in the plastic enough to fit the bolts, although it was still a tight fit because of the lack of space in that mounting location.
So if you have some help and are good with tools and assembly this box is certainly worth the effort.

I bought the 130 gal size in 2012. Now, 10 years later we moved and the deck box was still in excellent condition. In fact, our son now has it at his home. No warping, and very little fading. The box remained in the sun for 10 years and I was amazed how well it stood up to the hot summers and frigid winters all while remaining weather tight and rodent proof.

We stored wood pellets, lawn chairs and games, patio covers, etc. No problems ever. I did have it supported on 2 4×4’s as our rock border was not perfectly flat.

I bought this to replace an old metal+wood shed with something a bit more weather-proof. It is a great product – sturdy and not letting in a drop of water from recent storms.

The process of putting it together was complicated by excess flashing left on some of the parts and it really would have been a real drag if I had to do it on my own. Fortunately my son helped me and it was only slightly more onerous than it would have been without the flashing.

All in all – a great product. Would just be a tiny bit improved if it had come without all the excess plastic flashing we needed to trim.

The box itself is good – only thing is they did not include the bolts and screws that are required to put it together. I sent them an email with all the information that they might require but they kept on insisting that I phoned them (in California) at night here (UK) to give them a list of the missing parts. In the end I gave up!! I am hopeful that I will be able to find the correct sizes of bolts and nuts in a hardware store to do the job, It is assembled, but of course it is not very strong as it is. I think this is very remiss of them that they are not checking the goods that are leaving their premises. It is not Amazons fault because it is not their responsibility to open every package and check the contents!

The price of this deck box is amazing considering how very huge it is. I put it together myself with no issues except at the very end when I needed to attach the hinge to the lid I had a little bit of a hard time lining up the screw to match the nut while holding the lid open. A second person might have been helpful for that step. But I love that included is a qr code that links to a video for installation.. I wish all products to be assembled did this! I see this thing lasting way longer than our old one which didn’t have a hinge, just a plastic slot for the back to tip up and down through (and which broke very easily). Highly recommend!!

This is the 3rd of these boxes I have purchased and assembled. Two people doing it could be helpful, but I did all three by myself. The most difficult part is attaching the long sides (front and back) to the base. The molded plastic pegs are difficult to slide and lock into the slots. You can’t use a hammer to knock the side into place because you will damage the plastic. I learned to spread a little dish washing soap and a little water on the base where the slots are and standing on the base, with enough force, I could push the side into the correct position (you’ll know what I’m talking about when you do it.

The only other tight spot is attaching the hinges to the box (not the lid). there are plastic holes to align with the metal holes of the hinge, with small bolts and nuts. Aligning was difficult, and do NOT over-tighten or you could mash/damage the plastic. Just slightly firm.

    USE THE INSTRUCTIONS.

Unfortunately, for me, after building and placing it on my wooden deck within one week the lid buckled and dimpled up on the left rear side due to heat and the left/right sides are bowing out a slight bit.
Temps were in the high 80s and low 90s for that week and the box doesn’t get the sun until 12:00 noon. I’m assuming the heat from the deck contributed to the problem. The box still opens and closes without issues and rain water does not get inside. Can’t say everyone has this problem, just know it happened to me.
    Otherwise,
The box is a good purchase and would have met all my needs without issues, if the deck lid didn’t warp.
Perhaps I’ll buy a replacement lid if they sell them.
(I’m posting at night so there’s no photo right now)

Absolutely brilliant solid storage box. Very easy to build with clear instructions. I see some comments saying about having to put screws in at funny angles and holes not lining up. You will need a block of wood and a light hammer to chap the pieces into place before screwing it together. Like I said this thing is solid and wont let you down.

We purchased this bin style in the 150 gallon version. It is a great bin and holds our patio set cushions with no problem. The color blends well with our paved patio. It is under our patio roof so I don’t know how well it will handle rain. I have seen several reviews about difficulty in assembly. I am a 79 year old guy and didn’t find many problems other than the instructions could have been a little clearer. I must admit that I did drill tiny pilot holes to get the screws started. The instructions say that it is a two person assembly process. I managed to do it by myself in about 4 hours including breaks. Only snag was mounting the hinges to the lid. I laid the bin on its back and used the packaging materials to raise the bin to line up with the lid.

Accurately described. Holds seat bottoms, pillows, and towels with room to spare. I haven’t tested through wind and rain but seems likely to be weatherproof. This review focusses on assembly, which is easy to do but badly described. Hey Lifetime, why not correct the instructions once and help out all your future customers? The instructions sheet has tiny, borderline useless, figures. Also they call for equipment which was unnecessary. I dutifully hauled my drill and mallet from the basement, only to return them there unused. All the screws and bolts can be hand-tightened, which I think is safer when constructing plastic gear. Also, the entire process can be done by one person if you can support the open lid against a wall when attaching it to the base. Assembly was actually easy once I figured out when I could safely deviate from the instructions.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI was hesitant to buy this after reading several others reviews. Specifically reviews about the top warping and people saying the hardware was the wrong size… couldn’t get the gas struts to snap on, etc.

The box is heavy duty injection molded plastic. So, the tolerances are not going to be to a thousandth of an inch. But, with a little coaxing in a couple places it went together without issue. I did it on a 93 degree day on the shaded area of my paver patio in Florida, in about an hour, including time to assemble my tools and unbox the parts.

The box as designed will not be waterproof… In that, if it sits in standing water… the water will get in. I’ve had it out in some good strong rains in Florida, sitting on my paver deck, and I’ve never found water inside. With a driving rain, perhaps a small amount might be able to seep in, but I’ve not experienced it.

I don’t see how the other reviewer had the lid warp. There is a heavy piece of metal that is screwed in place along the top front edge, that would resist the kind of warping they showed in their picture. Either Lifetime updated their design, or the reviewer failed to install the metal brace!

When installing the screws, I highly recommend a socket wrench, or a socket adapter for a cordless drill. When tightening fasteners, just snug them down into place. Too tight and you could strip them out into the plastic. The gas struts snapped into place on the hinges. I simply snapped one end on the ball joint on the hinge attached to the lid, and then moved the angle of the lid until the bottom end of the strut lined up with the ball joint on the other end of the hinge and snapped it into place. I’m no “Muscle Bound He Man”… after doing the first one I remarked to my wife about the issues the other reviewer had. She wanted to have a try, so I had her do the other one. She did it easily without needed guidance or tools. She is not a body builder either! LOL

When installing the front and back into the base, use a rubber mallet to coax things into place like instructed, or a small piece of 2×4 (or other wood) to protect the plastic if using a standard hammer. You have to get some tabs to go into a slot, and then slide them. When installing the front and back to the base I found that giving a couple whacks with a rubber mallet, then setting it on it’s side to make sure all the tabs were located correctly and sliding in the slots. Then I left it sitting on the right side, and moved them fully into place by tapping on the top left with the rubber mallet…. gravity helps you a bit this way.

Assembly does require a little skillfully applied force in some areas. If you have 7/16, 3/8 & 1/2 sockets and wrenches, a phillips #2 screwdriver, and either a rubber mallet or hammer and small block of wood to use when hitting the plastic, you should be fine.

I researched many different deck boxes. We needed two for our deck at Gulf Shores, Alabama to keep our cushions in. My main question was …..would they keep our cushions dry? The answer is YES!! We have had several strong rain storms and the cushions have stayed dry and clean. I did purchase a metal clamp to join the top and bottom together in the hole where a pad lock can go, so that in a strong wind storm the tops would remain closed. After a rain, a little water collects on the inside ridge of the box and when you open the box a few drops of water get in, but this is not a problem. I highly recommend this product and would buy more if I needed them.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI researched a lot and decided on this one due to the size for my needs, the style which is nice and the sturdyness reported by others, I was put off quite a bit by the difficulties reported by other buyers but risked it because I haven’t met a flat packed item that defeated me yet.
Other buyers need to be aware that this is tricky to assemble, simply because there are no guide holes in the plastic and you need brute force to screw into the plastic initially, that’s fine because I had enough brute force and was able to complete the base alone. When it came to the lid I needed to call for assistance, the screws are deliberately wide and so when screwing them into the bar it’s not possible to do this while holding the bar down flush with the moulding to allow sufficient space to meet the plastic, not holding it down would mean the screws slightly missed the plastic and therefore you do need 2 people. We found it easier to use a wrench rather than a drill but each to their own. Be aware, the last sentence in the instructions state that the product is not waterproof, I will need to rethink the position and the contents of this product rather than risk what I originally had in mind, having said that I haven’t tested it in rain yet.
The instructions are clear and there’s a couple of QR codes to access a YouTube video to help so its not rocket science by any means.
During assembly my daughter commented it looks like a coffin (due to the size) and it nearly became one after her Father accidentally stabbed himself with a screwdriver, brute force was nearly his undoing.
Overall it’s a good looking product and I’m glad I invested in it rather than a cheaper version.

As already noted, there are no issue with looks and sturdiness. Decent, hard plastic which should last a while.
However, the assembly is something else.
Manual is confusing and inaccurate. Schematics show perfect parts alignment which cannot be achieved in reality. You cant force push parts together either, as they either bend or spring back out again as soon as you relieve the pressure.

Plastic ‘tongs’ holding sides are quite flimsy and should be thicker.
Metal plate which is supposed to be attached in far, right corner had to be attached with my screws as those designed for it were too short
Hinges are quite flimsy as well, and attaching door to main frame was an absolute pain. Be prepared to have few spare drill bits handy. Also, if you want your door well aligned, be prepared to drill multiple holes until you get it right. This would work much better if instead of screws, there were bolts + nuts with pre – drilled holes in metal inserts for it.

All in all good product, but the assembly (including parts connection) could be so much better.

I believe this will be a durable product that’ll last a number of years, but the assembly instructions could use some help. For example…

One of the initial steps is to insert and slide two of the panels into the floor/base panel while it’s on the ground. Couldn’t do it. It was MUCH easier to stand the floor panel up and gently tap the other panels into place use a rubber mallet.

The instructions state that the side panels should be inserted so you hear a _click_ as they snap into place. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get them to click into place; they’re inserted enough to lock into place so hearing a click may not be necessary.

When screwing the lower side panels into place, it’s easier to crawl inside the box than to attempt to do so from the outside.

The hinges’ holes didn’t line up with the box’s sides they their mounting screws missed the mark.

My only real concern is the hinges: I don’t think they’re robust enough to withstand frequent use. Time will tell.

Typical for the day, the written assembly directions are confusing, at least to me, and they fall short of desirable. I couldn’t find a assembly video on the company website to save my soul, but thankfully good old YouTube came to the rescue and I found an excellent video stepping the way to putting this box together. Excellent video, crap written manual.

The box itself seems really strong and tight. The hinged top works effortlessly. I doubt there’s much weather proofing at the bottom so keep your dedicates off the floor.

Overall I’m quite pleased with my purchase. Of course time will be the ultimate judge if the unit starts to warp especially the top.

Being a woman, I thought I was going to need some help with the assembly. I had all the tools, drill, rubber hammer, screw driver and a ratchet set. It was so easy. I am sitting on it now and it is very sturdy and holds my weight. It holds all my pool supplies and outdoor cushions. Great product! Thank You. I liked it so much I purchased another one for just pool chemicals and other cleaning supplies, but I was disappointed when I had it put together that it was missing the top lid support bar and now the lid will not stay closed unless I put something on top of it. I now have to reach out to customer support to have replacement part sent to me.

I purchased this Lifetime storage box on Amazon last week and found that contrary to many negative reviews stating that it was difficult if not impossible to assemble, if you have the right tools, including a drill, this box goes together very easily. The only issue I had was that one of the gas closures snap on ends was defective and the top had a small defect in color and not sure if it was a quality control issue at the factory or maybe a shipping issue, I did notice that the cardboard box top had been punctured when delivered by the Amazon truck. So for now it remains a mystery but once I contacted Felicia in Customer Service she made the warranty replacement very easy and now I’ve been notified that both warranty parts will be sent to me soon. Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFor the money, free delivery and option to return if . I found the assembly easy up and until the attached the lid components. That was a bit of a struggle. Had to drill through metal bar to attached to unit. A powerful drill is required for most of the the screws. Cursing helps. Now that it’s assembled all it ha to do is stay assembled, accept a lock and keep my golf clubs dry. Looks good but fingers crossed.

Some of the reviews on this product mention difficulties in assembling. I ignored the manual entirely and used the two videos on YouTube by the manufacturer. They’re not as detailed as I would have liked but they helped me through it.

Assembling is a little more difficult than other similar items and it took me a few hours. It’s more tricky than your average IKEA unit.

You’ll need a small collection of spanners and a cordless with a high torc on it and a large wrench head fitting for the 8 screws that need to punch in to the plastic, through the metal bars. My cordless simply couldn’t do it, even when I made pilot holes in the plastic first. So I had to borrow a more powerful one which to be fair, did it no problem.

Once constructed I could lift it and move it on my own and it seems solid and weatherproof. But time will tell. All in all, I’m impressed with the quality. It seems sturdier and everything is slotted together a lot tighter than other units I’ve had in the past which ended up letting both rain and bugs in.

I like the size and durability for a parcel drop-box. I found it is hard to open in freezing weather, and high winds move it around on the deck. First, I screwed it to the deck with four 1/4 inch lag screws and LARGE fender washers — just snug. Too tight will squeeze the bottom plastic. To facilitate easy opening in the cold, I mounted a large grab handle on the top, about 2 inches from the leading edge. A two-hole mount, like one used on garage doors works well. Be sure to use large fender washers under the handle, and on the inside, along with lock washers and “ny-lock” nuts. Do not over tighten! If the box is balky to open, delivery drivers won’t use it. I also chained the padlock down to keep it from “walking away” — it has to be left open during idle time.

The box itself is well-made and sturdy. I can’t comment on the waterproofing of it as others have, because I live in a very dry climate so that’s not really an issue.

The biggest problem I had was with the assembly. It requires multiple tools, including an electric drill and a socket wrench — both of which I have, but others might not. (They didn’t even include a simple flat wrench to hold the nuts while tightening screws, something which I did NOT have and ended up using an adjustable wrench for.) There were no lead holes drilled for the screws, making getting them in place an ordeal. Third, the instructions were very poorly written — on one diagram, about installing screws, there were circles around two of the holes, but the circles were indicating where NOT to put the screws! Another diagram shows the “orientation” of the nuts and bolts in one part, but doesn’t actually say to put them in. There were other problems, too.

Overall, a job that should have taken 20-30 minutes tops took me 1.5 hours, and I’m not a newbie at this. Like I said, the box itself is very well made, but if I had known what a pain the assembly was going to be I might have gone with a different option.

I read several reviews before ordering and figured I would give it a shot. It sat in the box for 6 months and I just got around to putting this thing together. EASY!! You will need an extra had or something to hold the lid up while you get the screws started. A little tip: I had to use some channel lock pliers to push the hinge bolts in or you can use a step drill but to clean out the holes. I used some window trim silicone on the inside because that’s all I had. I will get some clear tomorrow and seal up all around the outside. I think this box will work well for storing all my stuff and keep most all the bugs and water out. I will be adding some of the moisture absorbent tubs used for boats just to keep the humidity down.

This storage box is well made, and now that I have it assembled it appears to be weatherproof. I put it together without any help, and found that fitting the front and back to the bottom (fitting tabs into slots) can be difficult. Spraying the slots with silicone spray helped, but I still had to use a rubber mallet to “influence” the parts into fitting together tightly. Also, I believe I did have to drill a hole where either the needed hole was in the wrong place, or not there at all. But that was a minor inconvenience for anyone with a basic set of homeowner tools. Overall I am pleased with the box. It is a lot bigger than the old Suncast box it replaced (which finally succumbed to years of sunlight – the lid cracked), closes securely, and has not leaked so far despite several days with heavy rain. I would buy it again.

The side panels would not slide into the base. After troubleshooting with LIFETIME customer support they sent us a new base which arrived within a few days! This time assembly went smoothly. However, having an extra set of hands and some muscle will make assembly much easier with one person holding parts in place while the other is assembling pieces with screws. Be sure to have the recommended tools on hand before you begin!
We store patio furniture cushions/pillows and backyard toys in the box. Our box sits on a covered patio so I cannot say if it is “waterproof” but all parts fit tightly together so it should do well keeping moisture and bugs out. It’s a great box with plenty of room for larger items.

    Good customer service

Likes: this shed is big! Excellent storage and nice and sturdy once assembled. The kit pieces are all well organised and nothing was missing. The instructions were pretty clear to follow besides a couple of steps, which we could ultimately work out. Which takes me to….
Dislikes: man oh man this took a while to put together, and I know my way around flat pack items! You’re going to need a decent drill for this with a decent battery life. The majority of the screws went in fine, but the self tapping screws were a nightmare. In the end I had to use a metal drill bit to create some pilot holes. Also in section 2 the stages I think there was a manufacturing error because the holes for the screws in the metal support beams were WAY too small which, you guessed it, I had to get the metal drill bit out for again and widen them. Not a huge deal as I had the parts and enjoy DIY, but if you don’t- purchase at your own risk!

Overall, despite taking a while to put together I’m really happy with this shed, its sturdy and is going to last a while!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat storage box for pool equipment and patio cushions. I also store my patio umbrellas. The box snaps together and the instructions are very helpful. It can be assembled with one person but will need two people to move it there after. It is plastic so one may need to wrestle with the parts to get the holes to line up. Some parts screw together and other parts snap together. It is easier with a power driver. The bottom and sides are not water tight so in the event of flooding (my boxes are often sitting in 3-4 inches of rain water run off), water and mud can seep in from the bottom seams and corners. I sealed up the corners and the edge around the base with standard silicone caulk – even heavy flooding won’t allow water inside now. Standard heavy rain will not affect the contents so no caulk is probably not needed for most folks. Lifetime customer support is superb; I received one box with missing hardware and they sent the replacement parts immediately. Mine have been exposed to direct sun light for over 7 years and there has been some staining from dirt but overall color has not faded and the plastic still looks great. My kids will sit on the lid and it still retains it’s shape. Well made and durable storage boxes. I own four!
