These are the best light switches out there
Can’t fault this at all. 100% recommend them

I wish I could buy lots more of them to put in every room of the house but can’t afford it.

Lots of features and they recognise the bulbs they area attached to so it who’s how much power it’s using and does the brightness right for the bulbs attached. Works with Alexa very fast and faultlessly. Can change colours to suit your style in between the buttons. Can turn this little light off on the buttons as well if say in a bedroom which is another nice touch.

If you can afford it buy them and you won’t be disappointed.

Brilliant, if you get stuck the UK support center is great. Don’t need a neutral wire, works perfectly with alexa and you can set up switches to work together without rewiring the house! I’ve kitted out the whole house now

I’ve since started installing quite a few of these throughout my home. Pretty easy installation, power off and switch the cables over. Noticed the recess wasn’t big enough so installed the enclosed spacer looks really good fitted actually. Works really well.
Tech support was brilliant when I had a query with automation, talked me through everything step by step and even checked it was done correctly. Absolutely brilliant.
    Highly recommended!!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFantastic SMART Home Lighting and Sockets
I’m very impressed with this technology to the point where I’ve now put LightwaveRF light switches in every room of my home and have started to change some of the basic electric sockets to LightwaveRF. I’ve been using the system for a number of years and they have have worked perfectly. It works seamlessly with my Google Home setup, where I have a NEST Hub Max in each of the main rooms. The setup is easy and there are fairly regular firmware updates. The app is easy to use, but to be honest I only ever use that to set up the devices and routines, I use Google assistant to control them either from my phone or the Google Home devices. I prefer LightwaveRF over some of the other systems as you can use your existing lights and light bulbs, in most use cases there is no need to change, which means you have access to far more variety of light fittings, than say a Phillips Hue system. You do need to also purchase a Link Plus device, which is the router that connects the devices to the internet. but you only need one of these per home for all of the devices. I have a fairly large home and it hasn’t failed to reach every switch.
I can’t recommend the system enough.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWorks well, there is some noise if you don't have a neutral
I have installed two of these.
One operating with a neutral is perfectly silent, and offers energy monitoring.
One operating without a neutral works perfectly fine, however a slight capacitor whine noise is audible when you are next to it, and energy monitoring is not available.

The smart functions work flawlessly with Google assistant, however the buttons feel a bit flimsy for the price.

    Excellent dimmer switch
I initially bought one of these as my room. Was being decorated

Ended up buying three as the dimmer was easy to install and can be controlled with your phone or voice via Siri or Google..

I will be buying more as I upgrade the house

    Use the correct bulbs
Easy to install well written instructions. Did have an issue with one side of the switch would switch off and on but the lights remained on, thought it was a faulty switch so managed to get a replacement (great service) fitted the new one and still had the same issue. Wish I had checked bulb compatibility as this proved the problem, basically I had two lights circuit controlled by the 2gang switch when you swapped the wires around you still had the same problem. I found it worked fine if you have a combined load of over 10 Watts so I used dimmable led bulbs @ 7w each. Very pleased with it. The whole system with the link plus was easy to setup and works great with the echo. Dot.

    Rock Solid Performance
I have been using the Lightwave switches for more than a year now in my Apple HomeKit environment and their performance has been rock solid. The connection has not dropped even once. The app allows to customise a lot of features including changing the colour and intensity of the LEDs. I have also been able to use them as multi-way switches for my hallway lights which have three switches controlling the lights. They require a hub attached to your router which is a downside.

Asthecticly pleasing on the eye, but hard to get your dimming levels right.
I don’t like how it dims! It’s nice and smooth but you can’t set it at the level you want unless you buy the WiFi unit to enable it to your phone which is a bit TOO pricey.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWork as described
We have a number of these installed and they work well. Ours are linked to Google assistant enabling us to control our lights by voice. Only negative we have found is that if the switch is controlling a single bulb it can struggle with certain bulb types if the electrical resistance is too low. This can cause the light switch to reset itself and need recalibrating. Solution is to find a suitable bulb or get your electrician to add resistance in the circuit.

Easily installed and setup if you read and check your dimming led bulb type!
It’s as far as I’m aware the only smart dimmer switch available that you don’t need to use a neutral wire for.
Installation is easy and the the switch reports it’s status back to the hub.
Auto calibration is a bit hit and miss but easily adjust using the app.
I get on with it perfect. All that said it is a very expensive system.

Great product but expensive for what it is.
These are great switches and despite other reports, having installed these throughout my house myself, I can confirm the setting up of a master/slave is very simple. Equally being able to wire a live/neutral and using as a smart switch without a lighting circuit is great for 2 way switching. All this is far better than the gen 1.
    Where they go wrong is:
1: The price. 100 for a 2 way dimmer and 200 for a 4 way is very expensive vs others
2: Lack of devices. Gen 1 was far better served, they blame apple for this, aparently it costs a lot and takes a long time to get it certified….
3: The move to common live is a pain where you have multi level house with different circuits as of cause stairs will normally have 2 separate circuits and if you try to merge them… well it will work until the next guy works on the circuit then I hope for his sake yoy have a RCD to save them a nasty shock! Because I this I don’t think these are really self install any longer as Joe public without a degree in electronic engineering has no idea if its safe to connect both lives to the common.

Finally, the app sucks! it does what it needs to yes, but they having designed it… no user journey… if I want to turn the bedside light on i have to open app, chose floor, chose room, find the icon tap it… can take 30 seconds. Cant help but think could be done much bette

I was worried this would be the most complex switch to install. Turns out it was actually very simple and I found it the easiest to install. That could be down to me leaving this to the lady and having learned from my previous installs.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThe perfect smart lighting solution for renters or controlling lots of led spotlights
I live in a rented flat and the light fittings are sealed units with 15 spot lights in four zones in the lounge. Replacing all of these with Hue or other smart bulbs wasn’t an option for me. After a little too-ing and fro-ing with tech support to figure out the wiring diagram against the standard UK home wiring setup (it’s not quite as logical as you’d imagine but makes sense once explained) to a complete novice, I now have 4 zone smart lighting I can dim from anywhere. I’m using the LightwaveRF (autocorrect is on form today!) hub as well. I’ve hooked these up via Google home so I can use voice control. My LEDS aren’t supposed to work with this type of dimmer and flickered during initial setup but some fine tuning of the top and bottom end of the dimming range has cured this.

If you just want a route into smart lighting and can’t replace every bulb or live in a rented place you want to easily remove the switch from when you leave this is a great produc

Purchased with a few more items of the Lightwave products.
I am an electrician though and found the install very easy.
Used with remote switches and the hub it can easily be controlled.
Only issue I have with this item is the cost.
I had to two way my set of switches so required two units.
That’s costly. Also you require a supply to this so it can work.
Beauty is though a standard switch can be swapped for this and made into a 3 Gang.
    Great product..

Smarter than a "smart bulb" system
Smart light-switches are the best way to go if you want to install YOUR choice of dimmable light bulb, be it a cheap one from your local hardware store or a specialised antique squirrel cage bulb etc.

The “Link Plus” unit serves as the hub for your ‘smart lighting/switching/heating’ network. It plugs into your WiFi Router and communicates via radio frequency with the lightswitch, as opposed to directly via WiFi (e.g. Philips Hue).
Setting up was easy and straightforward. The app is simple and intuitive and you can set schedules or timers for a single device or group of devices. You can switch on the light either directly from the light switch on the wall (and dim accordingly) or from your smartphone app (Android, Apple iOS) or a laptop.

If your WiFi goes down or if you lose your internet connection you can still operate the light from the lightswitch as you would with any standard dimmer switch.

I also managed to link the switch to my Google Home speaker for voice activation! (Amazon Echo [Alexa] is also supported)

    Lightwave the slimmer dimme
Used in our bedroom to control an array of dimmable downright LED lights the switch was easy and simple to install as a standard replacement light switch. Very good instructions were also provided with connection to the hub executed without issue to enable remote control of the light switch. The biggest issue is with the lighting software app that has changed many times and continues to fail to provide all the functionality promised. Once the software is working correctly this lighting system will be one of the best however until then currently it’s an expensive although very nice looking standard dimmer switch that may not be used to full potential without the software app.

I’m surprised, given the mixed reviews, but this works exactly as described and worked first time. I’ve just ordered another three for other rooms.
Setup was painless, I just followed the 4 steps in the poster it arrives with.
I chose this to replace our Philips Hue as having multiple light switches in each room was confusing for the family, and a limited choice of expensive bulbs wasn’t ideal.
Very happy with Lightwave as an alternative – its much simpler for everyone to use and seems to work with our existing regular bulbs just fine. 10/10.

Great switch, only one I have found for use in the UK without neutral wires. Works great with HomeKit. If I’m being fussy, the buttons could feel better when pressed, but quite robust and works well. Saves buying lots of smart bulbs that require switches to be left on.

I did get flickering lights from one of the switches, although a simple firmware update on the app fixed the issue and not seen it since.

Excellent easily installed product, a surprisingly small profile inside the box, the lightwave app works really well but the killer feature is the compatibility with HomeKit, with this switch you can turn any dumb light into a smart light, I even cut the plugs off of some floor standing uplighters and attached this switch to a pattress box, then wired the uplights through this, giving control from anywhere in the world with full dimming control of any lights in the house.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGood but not perfec
The only automatable dimmer I could find that does not require a neutral connection. Simple to wire and using the supplied spacer allows it to be used with a shallow wall box. I even used the spacer on a deep wall box as I think it looks nicer.
The only down side is it doesn’t support remote controls or integrate with other automation systems easily although it does support IFTTT and Alexa.
Having the two way communications does mean I can easily see if a light is on using the App but I wonder if I should have gone with the Generation 1 version as it has wider third party support and remotes.
Hopefully in time LightWaveRF will provide an API to support third party integration and extend the range but time will tell.

Golden Review Award: 50 From Our UsersQuality hardware, unusable software and confusing installation.
Beautiful design, simple(ish) to install, unless you’re trying to fit a 2-way switch which Lightwave convenient doesn’t mention in BOLD that if you wire it like you would a normal switch you would irreparably damage it, but luckily I realised before attempting to do so. The wiring symbols are also completely different to conventional UK light switch diagrams, would be great if there was some comparable guidelines for wiring. Something simple like: COM = L, L1 = X, L2 = S. There, I saved them the trouble! Very responsive control from the app though, but the hub is enormous and hangs off the router like a tumor. The metal buttons on the switch itself feel a little loose too. Just missing out on the 5th star due to the lack of examples for various wiring setups (e.g. 2-way, UK standard symbols etc) given the cost.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersSolidly finished product with a slightly niggly install
A very solidly built two button smart switch. Simple to use either smartly or locally via the buttons (tab either button to turn on/off or push and hold a button to adjust dimming).

If you’re going into a backbox with much less than 35mm you will need the spacer. It’s a great finish but does make the switch protrude a little – it doesn’t bother me but if you want a flat-against-the-wall switch make sure that backbox has plenty of room.

The instructions for fitting in the box are good for the electrical size of things and the warnings on how to wire and not to wire. Getting the switch to sit in the spacer and “snap” all four corners of the chrome front plate into place was a sodding nightmare, and eventually took two of us to apply a ton of pressure all around (and the handle end of a screwdriver behind a cloth) to get the last damn corner in. This was despite having removed and checked out alignment, flatness against the wall/spacer and so forth.

Once it’s on, looks really does look great and that finish is solid and polished – I’m really happy with it.

Pairing with the hub is easy (although in my hub setup originally Alexa couldn’t find the switch until multiple hub resets and calls to LW support – but that’s a hub issue not a switch issue), and if their is a pairing problem it’s easy to reset them (although that instruction isn’t in the box – if you need more info there’s various docs on the LW website)

The only slight niggle I’ve noticed is that when at the switch you tap the down button to turn it off, the light flicks off, comes back a bit and flicks off. I’m using Phillips bulbs, and there are many posts from Gen 1 that talk about the need to use good quality bulbs – so bear that in mind. Turning on the light however, no issues at all.

I’ve not put one in a bedroom yet, but be warned that the blue LED on the light between the button goes red when it’s off, and stays red whilst it’s off. It’s not hugely bright, but in a pitch black bedroom, may annoy folks that are light sensitive.
