Amazing! So powerful (using a 5aH akku). Quality really impressive gives a confident feeling in the hand. Comparing to other well known professional drills the quality of the makita chuck and bearings is absolutely true with no sign of eccentric ‘wobble’ (which if you’ve ever experienced can drive you crazy when using small diameter drill bits) a superb buy. Very happy indeed.

    Hallo,

    das Teil ist genial.

5 Ah Akku rein und ab gehts.

    300er Schrauben kein Thema

Also meine Beschwerde eher im Gewicht.

A premire vu bonne machine. Bref, recommander trs certaineme

Extremely powerful, and as always quality makita workmanship. For the price this punches above it weight and ticks all the boxes for all jobs. It’s worth paying the extra getting this instead of an entry level price model.

Great service provided and delivered before expected date. Well packaged, with all documentation and accessories included.
Does just what I was hoping for – powerful drill with plenty of torque.

This is my only drill. I use it for general DIY. While Makita seem expensive, you can’t find similar torque for less. Lower powered drills are available at a lower price and for many, as a DIY tool, they will be just fine. This is the model to buy if you want the most flexibility, if one day you will need to drill very large holes. Mine has performed flawlessly. Being brushless, battery life is excellent, it’s quiet and it’s powerful. Each time I use it I am impressed by how compact it is, how much torque it has and how well-built it feels. I can’t think of another tool that feels as satisfying to use. You see why Makita has the reputation it has. It came with a side handle which is essential for the big stuff, a depth stop which is well made, two screwdriver bits in a holder, which are hugely useful and a belt clip, which isn’t.

Negatives? Well, the lights are great before you start drilling but once in position, the chuck casts a shadow (they should have been mounted at the base of the handle). It’s heavy-ish. You notice the weight and especially working overhead where for small drill bits this will seem over-the-top (pardon the unintended pun). Low-speed control is not great. This drill is the most controllable I have used at low speeds but still not what you would like, though massively aided by the excellent gears. Finally, and this isn’t so much a negative as something to keep in mind, if you get into a battle between this drill’s massive torque and your wrist, the drill will win! So take care and use the side handle when needed.

    Ottimo prodotto

We really abuse our drills and are burning them out all the time. For a few quid more this is noticeably more powerful and has proved much more durable.

Top of the Makita 18v selection, known to be a wrist breaker and I can see why. Just make sure you use the handle provided when needed.

    No problems and works great!

This drill is very good. Lots of power and light on battery.
I have used Makita tools for a couple of decades because of their reliability.
I find that the accelerator trigger on this drill has a bit more scale – makes it easy to be precise with the work in hand.

I brought this drill due to the demands I would require from it during my building work in a off grid forest. So far it has performed faultlessly, drilling through think wood 4-6in with ease and used alongside the 5ah battery, power just seems to keep coming all day. Well worth paying the extra money for this very powerful drill model, unlike some of the lower powered ones more intended for use around the house.

Bought this as replacement for a Worx drill . Seems much heavier , better build quality but is a good deal more expensive.Smooth action but does require you to use the long side arm attachment especially when using the hammer drill as it will tend to move around without it ! Weighs 2.7kg ( just over 6lbs ) with a 3ah 18 v battery attached but is well balanced in use. Would recommend.

My Old Makita I had had for years. GearBox repair caused brush failure so looked for a new replacement. Bought this BRUSHLESS BEAUTY. Makes me wonder why I didnt do it before. You get used to what you have got, But the world moves on and kit gets better. This was a REVALATION. I thought my old drill was good but this is a MAJOR step up in performance. I use it with my old batteries which works well no performance degradation, improved efficiency means that I dont have to change batteries more often even though they are old. I will now look at the rest of my OLD Makita tools and upgrade them to Brushless. Torque on this drill is awesome. Only gave it 3 stars for weight. its compact but not a light beast, BUT THEN IT DELIVERS

Top of the range drill. Usual Makita quality. A bit on the heavy side, you wouldn’t want to be holding this above your head for very long.

This has got to be the best drill out there for the money. It’s compact yet so powerful. Will easy mix plaster in a bucket even on speed 2 without even straining. Great all round.

It’s a beast. Wood. Walls. Not tried metal yet. Pretty compact. Lil bigger than drill driver. Probably as good as it gets before you step up to the bigger boys with sds drill bits.
