Got this for my oil heating tank. Size was perfect.
Great lock that is weatherproof. Key opens lock without any issues. I bought this lock as the one I purchased before this one was totally rubbish. I would defo recommend this lock.
Absolutely perfect. Not a lot to say about it really, locks easily, unlocks easily, stands up to the weather well, it is quite exposed where it is and it doesn’t seem to be an issue. Well worth the 8 quid anyway.

Fits Keter Oakland 7.5 x 11ft shed. Shakle length just fits. Lock feels very heavy, sturdy, and comes with 4 keys.
I bought this lock, not for its undoubted toughness (it took me five minutes to separate it from its packaging) but for the length of the shackle required to secure the lid of my Keter store it out ultra. Should anybody reading this require the same combination, bear in mind the importance of the width of the lock as this one is only just wide enough to enable me to hook on the shackle to the large plastic clip of the shed roof. A sturdy piece of kit which should last for years.

The lock has been in use for the last couple of months. It was purchased for my mother for her garden door, unfortunately previous padlocks failed, they became rusty, the locking mechanism failed and my mother had great difficulty opening and closing the padlock. This is now no longer a problem with this new padlock which has met all expectations, it chunky, durable and is far easier to open than the previous padlocks. I think the padlock is competitively priced and I am sure this padlock will last far longer than the previous ones. If my mother is happy then I am happy
This is a nice sturdy looking lock, with a chunky shackle. It has a hinged rubber flap at the bottom covering the combination, which I guess is designed to help protect the mechanism. I’ve had it for a few months now on the side gate, and it has been good, but I do need to see how it performs during the winter/over a longer term.
I like how when you set the correct combination, you still have to squeeze the top of the lock to open it. So anyone trying to guess the numbers would have a very hard time.
Having a key hole on the side, as well as the combination feels a bit odd to me. I only wanted the combination really. Not sure if the keyhole is just another place where the weather will get in, and corrode the insides? The movement of the numbers is a bit hard sometimes, I think other locks I’ve had have had bigger/more free moving dials. The rubber flap fell off last week (but I tucked it back in and it appears to be OK).

It’s a master lock so don’t expect it it be pick proof or even pick resistant in any meaningful way.
But for a garden gate it’s a visible deterrent that opens wnen you want it to and locks easily, oh and the weatherproofing is quite good.
So not for the most valuable items.
Purchased for my new shed. Ideal for the purpose. Very sturdy too ! I prefer a key to a combination style padlock. Why there are 4 keys I’ve no idea, 2 would suffice ! One major gripe….whoever designed the packaging where you have to extract the keys first has a devious mind !! lol (you need a key to open the padlock, only then can you remove it from the packaging too)….took me a while but I got there eventually lol Loving my new wee padlock though. Can’t comment on weather-proof yet, as I’ve only fitted just it this week but I’m hopeful 🙂
Find the code? Need strong scissors to shred the totally stupid unfriendly packaging. Pull backing off carefully as the code is secreted in one of the thinnest indents and easily missed. Instructions are in an almost inaccessible void. Otherwise it seems a sturdy padlock with a thicker than normal shank. The override key could be useful so a nice addition.
I use it to secure my shed, and unfortunately it requires a bit of fumbling to lock and unlock because it *barely* fits: not the vendor’s fault (I should have read the measurements), but be aware that the shackle is a bit narrower than that of most padlocks.
As others have pointed out, the packaging is antagonistic and whoever designed it wants you to get hurt. You need to use a pair of scissors (energetically) to free the keys, then use the key to unlock the padlock, and finally “extricate” the padlock from its packaging. Truly evil. Try not to harm yourself in the process.
The lock feels very well-made has a good weight to it with plenty of spare keys included (4)
I used it on a standard up and over garage push to release button door mechanism it fits perfectly through the hole to secure it.
It’s a good-sized shackle 0.8cm (not like the thin ones you can get) any thicker and it wouldn’t slide through the hole.
Highly recommended.
This is the 3rd one of these we have bought. The first one was purchased last year for our holiday place near the Sea, and we seemed to be going through padlocks very quickly due to the salt air, but this one has proven to be very sturdy, no rust, and hasn’t gone stiff. Hence we have bought a further two for our sheds at home. Arrived quickly, and felt they are fairly priced for the quality.’

And as a foot note.. I am appalled at these one star ratings saying they couldn’t even open the packaging.. it’s a padlock for crying out loud.. break the little seal on the keys.. put a key in the lock and release the lock from the packaging.. it took me all of 30 seconds to do it. Maybe I should have made a video on how to unlock a padlock!
Bought this along with a long cable lock, well made and seems very secure. Getting into the packaging was a task though, may just be me of course ! or perhaps it was a test, works either as key or combination. Would recommend.
This lock is absolutely amazing. I have it for a year on my shed and it still looks like brand new. No signs of corrosion like on other locks I have used.

I got it to lock my blue badge onto my motorbike so it wouldn’t get stolen. It definitely seems up to the job of deterring any greasy selfish vermin from helping themselves to my badge.
Got this for one of those Keter outside tool stores. You need a padlock with a long shank and this fits, just.
How secure it would be against a determined thief I don’t know but hey the tool store is plastic
This lock looks like it would take some defeating and most things you’d be attaching it to – the hasp anchoring – will probably be weaker I guess! Loads of keys included.

In addition the Keys are great quality (do not bend).
When opening packaging snip the keys first…then unlock the padlock to remove from packaging. The padlock is secure in its own packaging and quite difficult to remove if this process is not followed!
Perfect for my Keter store it out shed in the back garden!

My previous shed combination lock lasted several years with careful oiling but became more difficult to open / use reliably.
This feels much sturdier and is likely to be more weatherproof, the shed door would be easier to force than this lock. Very pleased.
It seems strange to comment on the packaging before the item itself but previous comments were funny. My husband looked at it in the packaging after my failed attempts to get it out and realised that if you remove the keys first you can unlock the padlock and simply remove it.

Needed a lock for a storage unit and this fits the job. Came with 4 keys if I recall.
Best padlock I’ve bought. Solid, waterproof, easy to lock and open. Had previous bad luck with padlocks getting stuck and not opening but this is the best I’ve bought. Also very secure.
Its easy to use, I use it to keep my bikes safe. It has a smooth action when the key is turned, pops out nicely and is the perfect fit. Not too heavy and it gets used a few times a week and is in good condition still.

I have had several locks for my side gate over the last few years but they have proved susceptible to rust after a short period of time, so far this one is holding up well.It looks and feels secure and is not showing any signs of rust.
A great oversized padlock for securing larger/oddly shaped items. I have a metal gate with a long hole for using a bolt which I have substituted with this padlock for security. It is an internal gate so I can’t comment on the items waterproof ability but would think it’s ok but would seize up over time and would recommend a rubber coated padlock for outdoors instead.
Replacing a 20 year old similar model from same manufacturer. Used outside, oiled every couple of years…lock still perfect but key snapped off inside. The key is the weakest link actually but was 10 years old. I had to grind the hasp off and it was very hard steel, as advertised.

Had this lock for a few months now after 2 padlocks from another seller broke within a week. This one is easy to open and close without catching anything and has been out in the rain a lot and not showing any signs of wear.

Quickly figured out how to remove it from the packaging, a neat litle challenge.
Will update in a few months after it has been through a Northern Ireland winter.
Decent product so far but it hasn’t been in situ long. Curiously, the key is a little fiddly to get into the lock. Perhaps it’ll get easier over time.

I’m a researcher by nature, and gave up 3 hours of my life reading reviews of padlocks! I finally decided on this one, which I am very pleased with so far. It is strong, easy to use, is coping with the British weather, and came with several keys.
Appears like it will do the job not being used outside so don’t know about weatherproof
I used this to secure my garden gate while on holiday. Apparently there was heavy rain during this time yet the padlock opened easily on return with a satisfying click. It is solidly made and all of the four supplied keys operate perfectly. (A Stanley knife was required to remove the keys from the packaging.). Long term weather resistance not known but the occasional squirt of WD40 could be beneficial.
The packaging is ridiculous needed a hack sack saw to get into it.
I brought two and they both have same key code all 8 keys ! so anyone who has this lock can get into mine? I thought each padlock would have its own set of keys? What’s going on there….
On the whole, a great lock for the shed. had it for a couple of weeks and it does what its supposed to. Feels weighty and well built
a couple of bugbears:
1. when wet, the mechanism isnt as smooth as i would have expected – it claims to be waterproof, but the key sticks a little when unlocking
2. (more of a personal thing) the key ring hole at the top of the key is off centre. If anyone is like me and has a foldy key tidy thingamabob, then expect the key to stick out….

I used this lock for a storage unit (indoor). It was cheaper that buying one from the yellow storage place and looked better than the ones they had. Seemed VERY robust, and others said, it wasn’t easy to get out of the packaging either! Loads of spare keys too. Pleased.
Received yesterday,it work’s just might need some oil on it or in it. The key’s seem to be a bit stiff,give it time it might loosen up.

Weighing up all the pros and cons of those available, the Master Lock brand seemed to stand head and shoulders above the rest, hence my reason for purchasing this Heavy Duty one with a classic shackle. I was also impressed that it comes with four keys (one for me, one for the wife, one for our next-door neighbour and one as a ‘hidden’ spare). It arrived through my letterbox within 3 days of me placing the order, was securely held in place by original Master Lock packaging and then further protected by a sturdy cardboard box.
So far, I’m very happy with this padlock. It’s certainly ‘fit for purpose,’ it’s solidly built, opens and locks like a charm and will hopefully last me many years.
Incidentally, it’s worth noting that this is also a ‘highly-rated’ lock on the Argos website – their price is presently 14.00. In contrast, I bought this on Amazon (via CC Leicester) for 8.88, which included FREE delivery. Highly recommended.
Very strong, sturdy lock- as if to make the point, even the packaging was so strong it took quite some getting into. Great value, and delivered very quickly by the seller. Excellent service.
This is great. Super sturdy. Smooth mechanism even after a few weeks of use and it has been raining. I use this outside 24/7 on the door of my garage so exposed to the elements and it is still working perfectly

Already had a twin pack of these and they are by far the best value out there. Had the previous ones for over a year on our shed and no signs of rust or the lock seizing.
The build quality is far better than rivals and you also get 3 keys. If it’s the twin pack the keys fit both locks.
It is a mix of stainless steel and zinc for rust resistance, and its also waterproof.

Bought this for some added security for our outside oil tank and it us perfect. Long enough to go through the lid of the tank and string enough to deter.
If you want a strong reliable padlock for outdoor use, look no further. There are cheaper ones on the market, but sometimes when you buy cheaply you end up having to pay twice when you buy the one you wanted all along.
Got this master padlock today. First look? Very solid and secure looking padlock. I use it to lock my bicycle that goes with steel chain. It might be too early to write more but I hope this master padlock will kick out those thieves!!
I have this lock on my heating oil tank to deter oil thieves, should they appear. The lock seems to be well made and secure. The long shackle is an advantage and essential for its current use. Good value lock.
