This is a review for Maudex MDP/70 [10 Keys] Container Padlock Heavy Duty Outdoor – [Anti Drill, Anti Pick Cylinder] – Also Used As Security Lock for Garage, Shed, Motorbike

I ordered this lock because I needed a really secure lock for a shed I have in some woodlands. I have got some tools in the shed that needed to be kept safe. This lock is perfect for that. It is very heavy duty and hard to break open. It is made from solid metal and you need the keys to be able to open it. It certainly has done the job for me and I feel this is really good value for money.

This is a heavy padlock and looks strong to me.
At the moment is working well and still in good condition but I just place it in my back door garden a few days ago.
I like that they are plenty of keys and this is useful for me, looks great at the moment for me and I recommend it.

This is certainly a secure padlock. Unlike cheap ones lock pickers would have a real challenge on their hands with this one thanks to its design and anti Pick Cylinder. It’s also anti Drill so is a good lock to choose. It’s heavy feeling, solidly built and comes with 10 keys. This makes it ideal for things such as a shared gate or shared shed, ensuring everyone has access. It’s also pretty handy having 10 keys if you’re prone to losing them. Good padlock.

Super build quality. You can feel as soon as you take it in the hand. Best thing is: you get 10 keys 🙂

This padlock looks really impressive. It is heavy and solid. When one of the ten keys is inserted it has a good precise movement which allows the pin to be slid to one side.

The design of the keys look a little basic but I am not a locksmith so have no idea if they would be hard to pick but I doubt that is particularly relevant. I worked for police for many years and one of my jobs was crime reporting. That included many burglaries and thefts but I cannot remember a victim ever suggesting a lock had been picked. The average thief is not a locksmith either and they just jemmy off the lock, hit it with a big hammer or cut through the lock, or more likely a connected chain, with an angle grinder.

The bottom line for me is the this lock looks impressive and solid enough to encourage the average thief to go elsewhere.

This is amazing padlock for locking chain, motorbike, garage door etc. body is made of stainless steel which surely is more resistant against rust and degradation which extends lifetime of this padlock. Very sturdy and solid in hand. Heavy and seems very substantial which is big plus for security padlock. More thickness, less chance they will cut through it. Shackle look super solid too.

MAUDEX have used much more complicated cylinder, so in order to pick this you would need specialist tool which is no very common and definitely require high skills to pick it open. This put extra safety addition to it. Producent providing 10 spare keys which you can share between family or if you using it for business, for coworkers.

General quality and finish is outstanding. Everything looks perfect. All been made very precisely. For this price this is amazing deal.

    Super robust padlock

This rectangular padlock has a unique shape and is made of hard steel. The lock beam and lock body are thickened, which is very heavy. This is a drainage hole on the side to prevent ponding in the lock . There are ten keys in the kit, which is really generous. In my impression this is almost never encountered. According to the introduction, this lock can be temper proof, smash proof and shear proof. I am not sure about this, all I can say is that it is really not easy to smash, pick and cut, and it’s must stronger than a U row padlock.

    Sturdy rectangular lock

This is a chunky anti drill padlock with 10 keys, that does seem a lot of keys though for one padlock, but could come in handy for a company yard to give to workers or yards men.

But for personal use , 10 keys seems excessive to me , I’ve used the first 3 keys and they work well , so me and two other family members now have a key to the shed, I’ve hidden the other keys away incase of any losses.

The padlock works really well in securing our small garden shed , we have gardening tools, scooters and other bits and bobs in it , we have had a spate of thefts in our area of late so you can never be too careful.

I’m sure this lock would stop or at least slow down anybody who tried to break through the shed doors without making a racket.

It comes well packaged with the 10 keys , it’s a very simple design to look and unlock this padlock , it’s very chunky so would not be easily broken or cut through , it would take a bit of time.

For over 23 it seems a tad expensive, I’m not sure the 10 keys would be needed much either , 3 to 5 would be sufficient in my opinion, but it is nice to have a couple spare.

It’s a solid , sturdy lock , a but weighty and strong , so I’m confident in it , so I’m happy with it securing our garden shed.

With fuel theft being more and more common I wanted a hefty lock to deter any people with the brass neck to steal fuel.
I’ve got this lock and a major brand security key lock as a 2nd back up.
It’s sad that it’s come to times like but I’m very happy with the build of this lock. It does come with 10keys.
I’m no lock picker but the keys seem very non complex not sure if that’s a negative or if the shape of them being slightly rolled rather than flat makes it harder to pick this lock.
Either way if a thief doesn’t see this as a deterrent they are going to have your fuel one way or another.

    I recommend this padlock.

    Solid block of a lock! 🔒 🔑

Really solid and beefy, this feels reliable and strong. The surface looks good like I doubt it with weather or rust easily.
The locking mechanism is easy to use but it looks quite complex so doubt it would be simple to pick. The bar works smoothly.
The only thing I didn’t like is ten keys. For most that’s an excessive amount of spares.

    Reliable, confident in its strength

With this heavy-duty lock, I don’t have to worry about any burglars. I’ve placed the lock on my garage door. I’m impressed with the quality.
Made from weather-resistant stainless steel, it has a sturdy feel and looks quite long-lasting. Additionally, it comes with an anti-pick and anti-drill mechanism.
Coming with 10 separate keys, I don’t have to worry about misplacing them. Always have extra keys handy.
    It works well.
    Satisfied

    Pros:
    – Solid lock which is very heavy
    – comes with 10 keys! (I guess it’s geared more towards businesses than private consumers)
    – Lock mechanism is smooth
    – Manufacture states the lock is anti pick and anti drill

    Cons:
    – Came with a bit of discolouration (See picks) on the lock. Very minor point but I thought I’d mention it

I hope you find this review helpful

Got this for my work van as we sometimes leave tools inside the van.

Great and does exactly what it’s designed to do, and secures my van

This lock is fantastic and of good quality!

The lock secures nicely to the van

The lock connects easily, and releases easily too.

The mechanism is nice to use

The connection feels more secure too.

I have the need for a good quality padlock to chain my motorcycle up either at home or when out and about, this one definitely fits the bill.

This is very similar to one that I have had before, but that one eventually ceased.

When the key is turned round fully in the lock, it unlocks the pin which you can withdraw; initially I had a problem with one of the keys getting it to turn fully, I can only assume that the edge of the key had a burr on it as it worked perfectly every time after that.

This seems extremely good quality and very solid, with it you get 10 keys, why so many I am unsure as it seems a bit of an overkill, but I suppose if you are using this for it’s intended purpose as a container padlock, then it is feasible that you will have several people needing to access the container.

All in all, this does the job that I want it for perfectly, and at 23.99 for peace of mind, it seems pretty good value for money.

Heavy Duty Padlock and Loads of Keys

Though this Maudex heavy duty padlock is designed, according to the listing, for shipping containers it has a range of domestic applications too. I like it – the look is a little different from a regular padlock and I believe it would act as a visual deterrent to opportunistic thieves.

I can’t corroborate the listing’s claims that this padlock is ‘anti drill’ and ‘anti-pick’ but it certainly looks as though it could be and is robustly made from hardened steel. I have attached it to the hasp and staple bracket on our shed door in the interests of testing its opening and closing mechanism – which works well. Unfortunately as the shed is more or less held together by a vigorous covering of ivy, this outbuilding would not foil even the most inept of burglars but unless they’re also gardeners they may not realise this.

The Maudex padlock with a nickel plated finish is supplied with no fewer than 10 keys – all identical – which I assume would perhaps be useful for a commercial application. The spares are handy to have though for domestic purposes as keys are easily mislaid and the quality suggests this padlock could last for years – but not having owned it for any length of time I can’t of course attest as to its weatherproofness.

My step son is always losing keys for out gate lock. This is a much cheaper way of making sure we have spares. I don’t think it would necessarily be a problem in other households and is more catered for business use.
While I don’t believe this is completely un-pickable. I certainly haven’t been able to do it with my lock pick set. It’s also designed in a way that would make it difficult to use bolt cutters on.

I think it is a decent lock with a good number of keys at a decent price

With 10 keyed alike keys this lock from Maudex is ideal for the workplace or communal living where more than one keyholder is required. It’s sturdy and well-made while easy to operate and secure enough to provide that little bit of peace of mind. It’s drill proof and suitable for indoor or outdoor use in a whole host of settings and applications.

I would advise keeping it well lubricated as with all locks that are exposed to the weather elements to ensure it operates smoothly for years to come.

I’m more than happy to recommend it.

Thanks for taking the time to read my short review, I hope you found it helpful.

Very strong and heavy weight padlock. Easy to use and you get plenty of spare keys included with it. Ideal for locking up the shed at night. This is padlock is far better than using a cheap basic padlock that can broken off easily.

This is a significant chunk of steel, really heavy and feels indestructible, easy to use on my shears hasp, but decided to move it to my gate. I’m impressed with the number of keys. I think this will be a great lock.

A very impressive item, why it’s taken me so long to discover this.

Anyone who’s used a shipping type container is probably familiar with this type of lock, all mine have used this type.

Its Avery sturdy lock and will sit in the part on the door of a container.

Comes with 10 keys, ideal if its being used by multiple people, saves you having to get any cut.

A great lock, ideal for many things, very sturdy tough lock with plenty of keys

Although I don’t believe this is pick proof it’s design makes it great to resist against most bolt cutters provided the steel it connects to is thick enough.

I picked this up to secure access to a boat and needed plenty of keys for different people to access it.

The design is simple and when unlocked the the top bold slides out most of the way before stopping. It works well with thick heavy duty chains, steel gates and hinges. I think this is way better than a traditional looped padlock and offers greater protection for a reasonable price. At 23 it’s a reasonable value for money especially with so many keys.

The design is better than mos

A heavy duty padlock with more keys than Florida. It certainly feels robust and would act as a deterrent on whatever you put it on, and should give peace of mind. As far as the claims about pick and drill etc resistance I’ve seen enough Lock Picking Lawyer videos on YouTube to always take those with a pinch of salt, however short of trying to cut it up or drill it open I will have to take the claims at face value.
I can also understand the usefulness of multiple keys but as far as security goes the more keys there are the more chance one will get lost and in my opinion the less secure the lock is. All the keys worked on my lock and I found it easy to operate, it is not as user friendly as a standard shaped padlock though.
I think for the amount of padlock you get for your money the price is fair and if it makes a thief pass your item by in favour of an easier target it will have done its job.

I ordered this padlock to replace a padlock that has gone rusty on my back gate. I have to change my padlocks at least once a year as they become very weathered and increasingly hard to open/lock. Where I live is very exposed to the elements and we get some harsh weather at times, so padlocks don’t tend to hold up for more than 12 months despite me purchasing various different ones that claim to be weather resistant.

This padlock is huge compared to others I have purchased previously. The quality is fantastic. It’s fairly weighty and chunky. First appearances are that it is very well made and it certainly does look like it could withstand some pretty harsh conditions.

The padlock itself is not your conventional ‘U’ shaped design, this one has a thick metal bar that you slide across, which in my opinion makes it so much easier to open and close as you are not pulling and twisting like a ‘U’ shaped padlock. For some bizarre reason it comes with 10 keys?! Perhaps this is more geared at businesses rather than home use as I am not sure why any home user would need that many keys. None the less… it’s great to have a spare or 9! Saying that though, this padlock would be fantastic for someone with dexterity issues as it would allow then to open/close much easier than a standard padlock.

I have a bolt type lock on my gate which is pretty standard for back gates. The padlock bar was extremely tight to get through the hole in the bolt, but I think this may be due to the bolt having a layer of rust on the opening which is narrowing it slightly. With a bit of persuasion it did go through though. Once locked it felt very secure.

I have no doubt that no one will be able to get this lock off without the key – I feel it would be easier to smash through the wooden panels on the gate rather than try and cut through this padlock! The lock is also anti pick. I can’t comment at this time on how well it will stand up the the British elements as only one long winter will tell me that – however I do have high hopes that this will last more than one winter.

Do I recommend this product: Yes! It’s very well made & looks like it could last a lifetime! Even the size of it would help as a deterrent for anyone looking to break into your shed or garden etc. I also think this would be great for elderly people as it really is much easier to lock/unlock.

I hope you found my review helpful.

    Great Quality Padlock

This padlock from Maudex certainly aims the heavy duty claim in its title. It’s got a chunky weight to it, despite its relatively small size and works really well on doors containers as the awkward angles make it very difficult to approach with bolt cutters.

It comes with not a couple but 10 keys – I tried all of them and only had 1 which was particularly stiff to the point of borderline not working but the rest were completely fine. It’s still early days so I couldn’t comment on the weather resistance but at least it didn’t instantly rust during its first storm!

    Great heavy duty padlock!

This is a very strong and sturdy padlock that looks really nice as well. It is big, so it won’t fit on everything so do check that it’s not going to be too big before you buy it. You need the key to lock it as well as to unlock it.

I have 2 Keter Shed in my garden and this pad lock is too big for my wood-look brown one but it does fit nicely on my old beige and green one. I think that the style of it looks better than a regular padlock as it lays neatly whereas the old padlock always looked crooked, I don’t suppose it matters but I do think that this padlock is a better style for my old shed than a regular shaped padlock. It almost looks like we don’t have a padlock on that shed door now, and the keyhole is underneath where it can’t be seen.

I also have 2 different sizes of Keter box and a Keter bench and this padlock is too big for all of them.

I would definitely recommend this if you need a large, strong padlock that looks more stylish, but it really is big. I know I keep going on about that but I don’t want anyone to think it would be ideal for a small deposit box or something else small that needs a strong lock, it probably won’t fit so just make sure that you check the measurements first. If it fits your item then you won’t be disappointed with the quality and strength of this padlock.

    Big and strong
