Amazing set of bongos
My first set of bongos ever. First impressions out of the box and very satisfied with the build and quality of these drums. As specified plastic shells which suits me as they will be going from venue to venue as part of my drum kit. The sound is great and they really resonate tones hitting differently. The Icing on the cake was taking them along for a quiet jam with our band breakingf in new bass player. He thought I was an exsperienced bongo player, ( no mate first time tonight ever playing them). Played the kit for around 30 years but honest started getting some good rythems going and these bongos sound just great. Ejoyed them so much
Great sounding
Perfectly good, skin will need tuning a few times for them to get used to the stretch, I found they’d be pitched down a day after tuning them up. But that’s normal.

I love the look and feel of these bongos. I’ve never played an instrument, but I sure love beating on these mamajamas to the sound of a good funky tune. Go ahead and get a set. You can’t go wrong for the price. It’s good therapy. So much fun. Kids and adults alike can just get lost in the music. Pretend your in a Cuban band. A Mariachi band. Just have fun.

Pour jouer acoustique ou en complment de mon set de batterie, je suis agrablement surpris par la qualit de ces bongos. Robustes, bon son un bon compromis pas trs cher.
These bongos have solid construction and are a great set for beginners. They sound great. I wasn’t sure about the ABS body instead of wood but it doesn’t seem to effect the tone that much. I get a nice bright bong and a nice lower tone on the bigger one. The hide skin heads are the same high quality they put on their more expensive ones and the hardware is solid and won’t break. For the price these are excellent quality bongos made by a major drum company.

I looked for weeks before buying one to ensure I bought the right one. Took a “Beats” class and the teacher said great choice! It is quality made. I ordered the Meinl Bongos with ABS plastic shells. The sound of these bongos is great. Very nice tone from the shells along with the natural skin heads. Although the sound is most important, the look of the black ABS shells is also very nice. They have a nice finish. Overall, very pleased with this purchase.

I have received those items on time. It has been a long time since I had stopped playing this instrument. I like the quality of the sound even if it is the first time I start playing the bongo. I look forward to improving my talent and buying a bigger one in the future.

Acquistati per un regalo…che dire, sono a dir poco bellissimi sia alla vista che al tatto, da ignorante in materia e regalato ad un principiante , hanno fatto davvero una bellissima impressione.
These seem to sound very good, I don’t play but tried them out to see how they sounded before gifting them. They sound just like the videos of pros playing. This is without any tuning played by me. I had gotten a pair of Rockjams before, but the quality of construction and sound of the Rockjams was inferior to these Meinl by far.
E’ la terza volta che mi trovo a comprar dei bonghi… “chi poco spende poco gode” dicono e normalmente vero, ma per fortuna questa volta ho dovuto ricredermi.
La prima volta ho comprato dei bonghi economici (XDrum) qui su Amazon: dopo pochi giorni la pelle del macho esplosa, anche se non era affatto troppo tesa: prodotto restituito e rimborsato.
Poi sono andato in negozio ed ho comprato dei bonghi sullo stesso prezzo ma a loro di qualit leggermente superiore: forse nelle pelli… ma la struttura era pessima e se si voleva una pelle pi tesa, si piegavano i supporti. Alla fine dopo quasi un anno, le pelli sono rimaste perfette, ma i supporti sono risultati inutilizzabili. I supporti in metallo!!
Mi sono intestardito e anzich spender di pi per uno strumento di maggior qualit (il mio un utilizzo hobbistico e di studio, non ho grossissime pretese), ho rischiato di buttar via altri soldi e provato questi Meinl… sperando nel marchio e nelle buone recensioni. Ce li ho solo da un paio di giorni ma la prima impressione ottima e per il momento devo dire di esser estremamente soddisfatto: il suono il migliore tra i tre provati, la struttura di buona fattezza ed i tiranti per accordarli non sono affatto troppo duri. Vedremo con il tempo come va… per il momento le premesse sono ottime e non posso che consigliarli.
Aggiornamento dopo qualche mese di utilizzo:
la pelle del macho si rotta e ne ho ordinata un’altra originale dal sito Meinl… in realt almeno per il macho del bongo sarebbe meglio utilizzare una membrana sintetica, meno delicata.
Il suono decisamente migliore di altri bongo di pari prezzo, ma non al livello di prodotti professionali: prover a sostituir le pelli con delle sintetiche e vedremo se migliorer un po’, ma credo che la diversa sonorit sia data dal corpo in abs anzich legno.
Non adatto ad uso professionale ma confermo l’ottimo rapporto qualit/prezzo per studio/hobby.
Llegaron rpido y bien embalados, el producto es de gran calidad y con la posibilidad de cambiar la piel por otra mejor cuando sea necesario.

Warm and delicious when I want and that pop is right there waiting for me. Nothing at all about this one sounds "plastic", and because it is.. it is more resistant to humidity. Great fun.

Thumpingly good value and sound.
Wow, I’m absolutely blown away by the sound of these bongos. They are superbly constructed and look great too. They are just what I wanted for beginner level playing and are certainly value for money. With the sound they produce, I shall have hours of pleasure whilst learning to play.

Very solid set! Quite heavy, actually, definitely not a toy at all. Our daughter absolutely loved them. Unfortunately, so did our German Shepherd, she ate them the second night we had them! She didn’t eat the bottom part, she just chewed a hole right through the hide on top. Ugh. I was so mad (at myself for not picking them up off the floor!) So, they are an excellent little drum set but, if you’ve got big dogs -beware- dogs love hide!

These are my favorite bongos so far, the skins have very thin leather that is extremely responsive. My other bongos have very thick skins which may be good for longevity but they don't sound as nice. These are nice and light weight, look very professional and are a blast to play!

A good purchase for beginners looking for an affordable, yet good bongo drum. It sounds really nice, and a wrench is included to tune it. Although it is made of plastic which is not as good as wood, it feels pretty solid, moderate care should prevent scratching.

We wanted to introduce music and percussion to our grandkids, but a lot of the children's instruments were not durable enough to stand up to their enthusiasm! These bongo is a professional version, so probably overkill, but both kids and adults can play without fear and they sound good!

The body hits a semi typical acrylic sound. But in a good and consistent way with the skin heads. That’s what I wanted consistency. Slightly larger is slightly deeper but by a fine bit. I use them to jam with a friend so we sound just enough different but still on tune. Great price as well. Def think it will hold up will

Gift for my son who is in college. Gave it to him and found he had bought a set costing twice as much. He hasn’t played the other set since he got this one.
