Bought for my ‘not very tech savvy’ wife. She doesn’t do face recognition so I’ve not scored it. Good, simple phone. Small and easy to pop into a pocket or bag. Battery life nothing to shout about but as it’s only used for texting and phoning it’s fine. Good range of apps, WhatsApp etc.
Ideal for a simple phone and loads cheaper than alternatives that are out there.

Don’t expect a slim modern smart phone because it’s not, what it is however is functional.
I bought this phone to replace my smashed works phone, all I need it for is make and receive calls, messages and photos, this it does quite well so serves its purpose.
So good as a back up phone, good as a “phone” and good for a child’s first phone so you can get in touch and them with you but THATS IT.

Easy to use phone
Needed a cheap and cheerful replacement, and this phone fits the bill. It’s easy to use and download apps, the battery lasts all day and my techno phone partner has found it easy to use. Taken one star off as sometimes the touch screen can be a little slow to respond.
This is very much an upgrade for me from my old Samsung clam shell phone to a Ulephone Note 8p smart phone. Absolutely no problem setting up as some of the negative reviews claimed. I can’t say about battery life as according to the instructions it will take a few charges to reach the best operating level but I have no concerns so far. Picked the Ulephone Note 8p as I can use my very old large sim card with it and will be able to add a better data card later. Love the colour amber sunrise and I have found the phone so easy to use so far with the added bonus I can pick up my emails, and catch up with Facebook and Messenger.
Update on battery life.
I appear to have a battery drain of 2.5% every hour on standby so I am having to fully recharge every 24 hours. Where as the other Ulefone Note 8p purchased the day before hardly drains at all and still has 66% charge after 2 days. Slightly dissappointed to say the least.

You get a lot for your money down side is the battery life you can see it plummeting before your eyes touch screen very responsive not a bad phone for taking out and about with you just be mindful of the battery.

i like my tech but i always liked my phone to be easy to use and have enough space for me to do what i want to do, i don’t use it for games or apps but i do use it for calls and texting but even i wanted something that looked good and this phone didn’t disappoint, it not only looks good but so far has plenty of space for all that stuff that’s installed with the OS. I did take it out with me and when i got back forgot to take it out of my bag and only remembered the next day and it was down to 83% my old phone would have turned off due to lack of power within a few hours so i was surprised this one was still charged. all in all its a good phone and at the price i paid good value for money, i i had to buy another phone i would buy this one agai

It runs Android with the Google Play Store fine so you know what you get. Having too many apps on at the same time can slow it down but it’s not hard to close an app you aren’t using.

I cannot believe that people said it’s a good phone for young people as a first phone and suitable for older people. Young people yes I can imagine but suitable for older people …. possibly if they have assistance. I had to go on Youtube to find out how to set up this phone. There is a version of the set- up that makes it suitable for older people but how do you find that screen if you are not good with technology. This is my first time using an android so perhaps that’s a handicap. Yes I would buy this phone again as a backup phone. It’s screen is small compared to what I’m used to but I’m getting there. I will come back in a month’s times and review the phone again.
Bought this as a first smartphone for my 85yr old father.
He loves it and finds it easy to use. He takes photos and uploads them to Facebook, makes calls, sends texts and listens to radio apps when he’s on the bus. It has been great to see how much he loves it and what a difference it’s made to him!
The only negative thing I found was that back of the phone was a pain to get off when I was setting it up, they could definitely do with improving.

What a great phone. I bought it as a 2nd phone as I have just arrived from the USA and needed a phone to handle my USA SIM. I bought another cheap phone from Amazon and it was not good. I had to return it. This phone is great. It’s a lot of phone for not a lot of money. Would definitely recommend.

Personally I like the size of the phone. Its very easy to handle and use now that I have got used to the various apps and features.
I use it mainly for WhatsApp, emails, browsing and photos.
Being a senior citizen I do not like the icon for Simple Mode which shows images of two elderly people. Being old does not mean we are stupid and things have to be made simple for us !!. Furthermore why are old people often displayed as bent and in need of a walking stick? In fact the ” Simple Mode” is not at all easy to navigate away from once accessed.

I have only been using it for a few days now so I cannot speak for this phone’s durability, but it is an excellent phone for the price. The build is sturdy and the memory/ CPU speed is adequate. I use my phone for banking/ email/ casual web browsing/ language learning etc. and this phone is perfect for that purpose. The Android version is 10.0 so you’re not going to have issues with out-of-date software anytime soon. The camera is a bit meh I guess but it works. Quite unbelievable what a nice phone you can get these days for just 50 pounds.
Unbelievable value for money. I have a habit of going on nights out and losing phones. After buying the note 20 ultra i decided I needed a phone to take out that I would be suicidal if I lost. For 55 pounds this device is unreal. I’m a power user and really into tech. This is absolutely great for what I will need it for when on a night out. Facebook, WhatsApp, Facebook messenger, YouTube music and Google photos are the only apps I need for that and they work absolutely fine. Not blazing fast like my note 20 but perfectly usable. I still can’t quite believe that you can buy a 4g phone with 2 gigs of ram for 55 pounds. If you’re not interested in hd screens, blazing fast processors and just want a functional phone, this is worth twice the money it sells for. Just to mention I have only received the phone a day ago and have put everything I need on it and turned it off. I will update if anything changes.
Easy set up
Easy to use, easy set up, so far so good. Using a giff gaff sim, good value for money, nice to look at.
Takes the regular USB power/data cable (not those newer flat ones that can fit either way) which suits me very well as I have chargers all over the place. The phone is sturdy and works well with my old micro sim. I put an AXE 128 Gb chip in it and that works well – all this leaves me with a free nano sim slot. Android GO (apparently a cut down version of Android 10) works perfectly well – it offers the possibility of what I believe is called adoptive memory meaning I could choose to configure the 128Gb chip to act as phone memory and have lots and lots of apps installed. After some reflection I decided not to do that and to keep the chip for data files. Handily Google files notices if you’ve taken a few pictures (perforce saved to phone memory) and gives you a one touch option of moving them to the chip. The phone comes with a flexible plastic cover which I was a bit doubtful about at first but I tried it, liked it and keep on. If you are writing web pages for the thing then the effective screen resolution is 295×640 which is a bit narrower than you might expect. I’m very pleased with it.

This mobile phone was choosed as a temporary telephone for outboard using. Simple to start, easy to use.
I switched to this phone for a few days and have some overall thoughts which I listed in bullet points and a conclusion.
Pros about the Note 8P:
– Compact size, which is the main reason I bought this phone as it is dimensionally small and almost comparable to the size of iPhone SE 20 (except the thickness). You can hold it easily in one hand without worried to drop it suddenly. The large thickness makes it even more holdable in your hand. Also, the screen size is small that you can reach all the screen corners with one hand.
– No need to worry about buying accessories for the phone as it comes with a silicone-clear cover and two protective screen (one already placed in the phone’s screen and a spare one).
– Latest android version 10 Go, which contains the main features of android 10 (navigation gesture, dark mode and google assistant). But doesn’t have the multi-task feature e.g. split-screen.
– The phone includes the 4G band that gives you faster internet service.
– The phone gives you the option to extend the main storage by joining an SD card (class 10 type) instead of using it as external storage, which will allow the phone to install some apps and move some system files into the SD card and gives you more space for more apps and files.
– To speed up the android process, this phone contains an optional feature called (DuraSpeed) that restricted apps from running on the background when not in use, so you can have less lags when switching between apps.
– The phone has a built-in app called (simple mode) which convert the whole launcher into large simple icons exactly like in old cell phones. This is a good feature for older people and those who used to have an old cell phone and like to have a simple view rather than the android view.
– Compatible with the 5GHz WiFi band, which is good for fast downloading and future usage.
– The phone has a face unlock detection, but takes about 2 seconds to unlock the phone, and didn’t work on dark places.
– Remarkable customer service, Ulefone keeps tracking for your satisfaction regarding your experience. Something that you would not get from other grown-up companies.
Cons about the Note 8P:
– Brutally slow in all aspects (opening apps, having multiple opened apps, and even typing) even when using DuraSpeed. For those who are typing fast, this phone will drive you crazy as it takes time to process each letter you are typing. I could not get a single work correct because of this slow process.
– Not a trust phone to rely on. As it has a slow processor, you will not be able to rely on this phone in emergencies. For example, using google maps while in a call to find a place, or texting on a chat app while browsing on another app. Also, you will notice a lag when opening two apps together.
– The screen is not HD. Using YouTube app will give a maximum resolution of 480p.
– No ambient sensor, you have to adjust the screen brightness manually.
– The chrome browser app doesn’t update! not sure why. You are stuck with the basic version. But you can replace it with other available browsers at the play store. After all, I don’t like chrome browser app.
UPDATE: chrome is UPDATED!, you need to upgrade your phone using the upgrade tool provided by the office Ulefone website.
– The camera is decent, but only when taking closer shots (leaves pics), but once you try wider shots (branch and buildings pic), you will notice the pictures not that clear, too shiny, and contain noises, so you cannot see details of (e.g. cars, people) when zooming the pictures. In addition, the colouring of the picture is not the true colour in real view, the phone gives the pictures a shiny and bright colour like the sun which converted into a while colour (the branch pic). The front camera is also, decent, but not good for a group (friends gathering) photo.
– The battery is not efficient in consuming power. Heavy use (camera, videos, mobile internet, max bright display, etc) will give you about 7 hours, moderate use (checking on emails, messages, light calls, etc.) will give you about 15 hours, and a lite use will make thought the day. Also, considering that the phone’s port is a Miro USB type, it takes about 2.5 hours to completely charge this phone.
– I am concern about the battery heat dissipation as the phone do not have a cooling system and it gets warmer on heavy use and heat will affect the battery life.
The Conclusion:
Despite the number of disadvantages that the phone has, and considering that the phone price is about 50, I see a unique smartphone that balance between providing the latest technologies on a smartphone, at the same time, selecting its hardware and design it to match the economical price of a phone market, so it can target various categories (children, youth, and elders).
So far, I did not see an economic smartphone that balance between these two extreme conditions, which makes me confidently say that Note 8P is by far holds the title of the best economical smartphone.
I would advise not to use it as a primary phone unless you want to keep you flagship phone away from potentially crushed on certain places, or just to keep it safe.

Decent phone for price
Just needed a simple smart phone, this phone is excellent and good looking too.
It’s 4G, Android 10 and features a decent camera.
As an everyday phone this is fine. Battery life good but the initial ‘out of the box’ charge took 2 1/2 hours.
Works better on WiFi than network (Vodafone in my case).
Photo editor is none existant beyond cropping and rotation so get your snaps right first time.
SD card from my previous phone upset this one – accepted for a few days than had to be formatted again.

Needed an android phone for work, arrived in time with complementary protective cover & tampered screen protector.
I thought that this phone would be too good to be true but how wrong was I! It’s Android 10 and so fast that I can hardly keep up with it. Absolutely gorgeous colour too.
