Does what we need and looks smart.
Much nicer in appearance than the regular traditional stair gates, but more of a permanent option as needs drilling into the staircase. We bought it to place at the bottom of the stairs to stop the dog going upstairs after new carpets were fitted, works for us very well. Pulls across and hooks over the clips very easily and retracts nicely. Smart looking and easy to install.

Best stair gate ever, I was looking around all over for these roll out stair gates and everything was around 50 each I needed 2 one for on top of the stairs that my baby shouldn’t fall down and one for the bottom of the stairs that my baby shouldn’t climb up as she can fall down, this gate you can use it in 2 places top and bottom you get to sets of clips to click in the roll out gate and i installed 1 on top and 1 on the bottom of my stairs and for this price!

I needed to call a handy man as in my house it was a bit complicated but if some one has the tools he should be able to install in It on his own, just I wouldn’t recommend to use the wall plugs they sent with as when I tried doing it my self it didn’t look strong

It’s amazing if you have a small area and don’t want a physical gate taking up space, it’s very compact snd easy to use!
I bought one to begin with just to try it out and now I love it so much we have to buy 3 more as we have a townhouse (2 flights of stairs – 2 for each staircase!!) but I love them so I’m happy to pay for the quality of the product!
Not suitable for determined small dogs
I really like these gates for alot of reasons.
1. They’re out the way when you open them.
2. They look better than a normal baby gate.
3. Great for big dogs.
But.. They’re not great for little monkies who want to get under them as per picture.

I needed a barrier to prevent my dogs from using my living room for a sleep fest every day but found it difficult to find anything suitable (and not overly expensive) to fit a double width doorway, until I saw this.
It is easy peasy to fit (even including templates for drill holes) and looks really neat & stylish.
It’s very well made and swishes across the door space easily, clipping at two places to hold it in place and when not in use, it rolls back neatly against the door frame.
I have 2 retrievers and a labrador (one retriever is just 8 months old) and not one of them has “barged through it” as some unfair reviews have stated. Maybe it’s the lack of training at fault and not this product?
All in all, I would highly recommend this gate for price, design, quality, style and ease of use – a brilliant buy.

Great little find
Particularly good if you don’t have a standard doorway or opening you want covered. No banging your hip into the metal frame which I constantly did with the normal child/dog gate, and no bar across the bottom to trip over. Mesh is stiff and strong enough for two border collies and the fact you can move it to another place easily is a great addition – though you get a second lot of attachments to use you don’t get a second lot of spacers if using with a skirting board but easily solved with a bit of wood instead. Different colours also let it be as unobtrusive as possible.

Perfect for a wide opening
Really pleased with this product. I needed an extra wide baby gate for when my grandson comes to visit but didn’t particularly want it up all the time. A friend suggested a retractable one and this is just perfect! It does exactly what I wanted it to, keeps my inquisitive grandson out of the kitchen and has saved me having to put locks on all my kitchen cupboards and drawers. It’s really good quality and looks nice too, would definitely recommend

Great gate for my 2 little pugs.
Easy to fit and very solid.
I see reviews with large gaps after fitting and doga manage to get through or under. If it’s fitted correctly this won’t happen.

We love this as a less intrusive version of a stair gate across a wide doorway opening we have. We use it to separate the carpeted area from wood floor area to save carpet from muddy dog paws from time to time and it’s super easy to jsut pull across quickly. Barely notice it’s there when it’s retracted!

I absolutely love this! The idea/concept is fab! I got this to stop my three little dogs from going upstairs when I’m not home and it is awesome. Looks so modern and when it’s not closed you forget it’s even there! Well worth the money and easy to install.
Good buy can be noisey
I have 3 if these gates. Great for wide stairs. 1 of the 3 is noisey when pulling in and out which is a pain when sneaking out if a babys room. Wish i had noticed it more before the sellers return window had expired (1month)

I found it a bit difficult to assemble in place due to the restricted space on the landing at the top of the stairs, but once in place it worked well and still does. It is intended to keep a puppy safe from falling and it does that fine.

I bought this for my children, but also for my dogs. My chihuahua could squeeze under it lol, but my dachshund cannot (not sure if it says more about the dog himself rather than the size of him lol). Luckily my children can’t figure it out, so it does the job. I live in a house with an exceptionally wide staircase, (big enough for a stair lift and to be able to walk beside it) so even wide stair gates found on Argos etc weren’t big enough. This one is big enough and then some, it would stretch really big if I wanted it to I think.
Bought for my 87 year old nan. Who uses child gate for dogs. I was worried she would trip over the standard gates. But wanted something that meant she didn’t need to bend down to unhook or step over. This is prefect. Really happy with purchase.

I found the installation a little confusing as there were so many parts and most of them I didn’t need, however some people may. I have a stair case on a corner so installation again was a little more complicated as it needed to go on the first step at an angle. The stretch is great, but the dogs within 1 day had worked out that they could go underneath it. This not the product fault, just very clever dogs.

This gate is fantastic. I have angled stairs which means a standard stair gate will not work. I looked at this gate and realised I could make it fit (see pics). I used the included paper template (not the one on the side of the box!!!) to fit the main part of the gate which was incredibly easy, and then pulled the screen across to help me measure up where to position the wall hooks. It was a little fidly to fit the bottom wall hook due to the position of my stairs but this is the only product I could get to work… And it does work!
When closed it is positioned close to the next step meaning my puppy cannot get under the screen and climb up. I would recommend that you do the same if you get this gate because if you do not lock it into place it can be stretched a little.
It is very easy to use – just pull it across and put the handles into the hooks. Then just push and turn the locking handle and this locks it into place so it cannot be stretched. This also relieves pressure on the wall hooks.
My kids are 7 and 5 and they can use the gate with ease so on that basis alone I highly recommend this gate for families with children who need unsupervised access.
My puppy loved sneaking up to their bedrooms at bedtime to play and keep them awake. You can see the sadness in his eyes when he realised that this gate actually works and the little Houdini cannot escape through it!
I also love thst the screen retracts meaning it is not obtrusive when not in use.
This gate was perfect for my needs and I cannot recommend it highly enough, especially if you have awkward stairs.
We bought this to stop our dog getting upstairs during the night. It is great, as it is not intrusive and easy to use. There is also no risk of her trying to squeeze through the bars.
It is easy to install if you are quite DIY handy. Our wall is slightly off therefore it doesn’t pull straight as you can see in the picture. This does not make it less effective, just not very nice on the eye.
I like that it is screwed into the wall and not a permanent gate.
I would highly recommend this for child, dog or even adults ha ha !

We have two comic and curious cats – the stair carpet has taken the brunt of their sharp claws — so a new carpet and a gate which is easy to close was needed!! After a good deal of research we found the retractable gate. This is secured with two upright sections one containing the string mesh fabric. It is so child friendly – the design endures no snared or trapped fingers – net result no snagged carpet pile and two cats having to use their scratching post. I would certainly recommend this to Amazon shoppers

This is an excellent barrier to stop my dog running into the conservatory when we don’t want him to ie wet and muddy.
This gate is fitted to the max width and once closed you hardly know it’s there, plus its completely detachable from the wall so I can use it elsewhere if needed as it comes complete with another set of brackets (less the spacers). Overall a great purchase, let’s see how it succumbs to every day life over the coming months.
Fitting can be a bit tricky if you have to fit using the spacers due to skirting boards as you need to get it lined up and vertical so the brackets fall in line.
Use the paper templates in the box it’s much easier than cutting them out from the side of the box.
Really easy to install. Looks good and prevents you having a gate which swings into the room and gets in the way. When left open it’s quite discrete. Also the perfect solution if you have a bottom step below the bannister (see photo). It’s a flexible plastic coated fabric so, in theory, if not locked into place, a child could pull it out and get under it but this certainly hasn’t happened yet in my house and locking the gate into position, as advised, would prevent this.

I’m really impressed with this. I’m using it in my play centre and it’s holding up pretty well to multiple children. Only 1 child has yet to escape through it. I stood watching as she wriggled underneath it. However, the “lock” hadn’t been used and when I then locked it, she could no longer get underneath. It’s fairly easy to use if you open and close it using the handle as intended. People struggle when they try to open it with one of the hooks instead.

Does the job, only issue i have is it can be sensitive when retracting. You have to hold it up stright or it fds easily and doesn’t retract properly.

Comes with paper drill guides but these are a nuisance as its pretty easy to set up. In the booklet it says it isn’t suitable for the top of the stairs and I agree, its a little flimsy feeling but it does hold secure. Perhaps a bit overpriced compared with a standard metal stairgate.

Just what I wanted
Bought this product to keep our new puppy away from climbing the stairs. Wanted something that wasn’t too much of an eyesore when not in use and could be folded away so access to the stairs was also easy. Everything about it I found to be ideal and just what I wanted. It was easy to install and I like the fact it can be locked so that not just anyone can run upstairs without me knowing, (our three year old has a habit of flooding the bathroom when left to her own devices). Highly recommend.

Purchased to act as a barrier for the puppy. Realatively easy to install however there are lots of bits to add to the brackets to ensure the top and bottom ones are 100% level, it won’t lock properly if it isn’t. More aesthetically pleasing than a traditional metal gate and stows away when not in use too, although isn’t the most discreet.
Absolutely brilliant product! We’d previously bought another like this through a high street store and within 5 minutes I knew it wouldn’t be sturdy and safe enough to even let my 10.5 month old near it! Then we found this and ordered it because of the reviews and can without doubt say it was the best decision, easy to install and beyond sturdy and safe enough for my daughter, really worth the money and we’re very happy!

Installed this after initially buying a similar item in the dreambaby brand that I had to return. That one was annoying in that the spacers are not included and are impossible to get hold of anywhere. So had to abort the installation.
This momcozy one has spacers included and all got installed in much less time.
Looking good so far, but yet to be tested against my hyperactive toddler. Will return to update review if he wins in the battle against the gate!
I’d been after one of these gates for a while as I knew I didn’t want one with bars. I don’t like how they move when pulled and that there’s constantly a bar running along the stair even when the gate is open. With this one it stretched along the entire stair with no gaps and feels secure when it’s attached to the hooks. Jack doesn’t even entertain the stairs when this is closed. Plus my boyfriend has large feet and it gives us both reassurance that he can come down the stairs safely when carrying Jack when the gate is open.
The mesh is really well made and there’s spare brackets in the box.
Thinking of getting another for Jack’s bedroom door.

Very good. Thought it was going to be flimsy but it definitely wasn’t. Very strong and a brilliant length it fits between my 2 kitchen walls to stop my son. Can wash off marks and stains from children’s fingers. Will definitely be recommending and buying another one.

So far so good – it was easy to install once I stopped reading the complex instructions and adaptor info. Turns out I just needed just one wall connector for each fixing.
The plastic feels a bit cheap and I’m not entirely convinced that the locking mechanism works particularly well.
However, it stops our puppy from bombing up the stairs on her hunt for socks and other things she shouldn’t have, so it meets a need !
