This is my 3 rd Steam Generator and I thoroughly recommend it. I had the previous model and I got 4 years out of it. I needed the help one time as mine started leaking some water, I rang their helpline and was told how to rectify this so I was very impressed with the aftercare too. My first Steam generator was a Tefal but it only lasted 2 years. I love this model, very light and lots of stream.

Very easy to use, I particularly like the automatic de-scaling feature.
Worth getting this higher spec option for that and the locking system which makes it very safe to handle and store on a high shelf. The variable steam function is very effective and overall it saves a lot of time compared to an ordinary iron.

I have had one of these irons before so this is my second as I was very impressed with this iron. The heat and extra steam makes ironing duvet covers and pillow cases easy as you can fold x 4 and iron and looks great. Can iron more in less time

I love the locking facility that holds the iron in place on the steam generator,making it easier to carry around (though the whole unit is heavy for me as i would expect but i have it stored so i don’t have to carry it very far at all so not too much of a problem). Before my disabilities it would have been no problem at all weight wise.
It is easy to fill and empty, has a removable tank for when using the autoclean feature. Also easy cable storage incorporated.
The results are far better than my old Bosch which broke, hence the purchase.
Maybe for some its expensive in absolute terms but the investment in such a great quality household appliance means, for me, it represents value for money.

Had a previous model for several years which finally packed up. So when Looking for a replacement seeing this made it an easy choice. This model is so much improved on my previous one, with no fiddly descaling required, the self descaling is a synch. Irons great with lots of steam, a must for serious Ironers…

For the price, excellent value! Had a Tefal before Which cost 3 times as much and this is better! Only thing is, you must use distilled water in it and not tap water! Morphy Richards also do a water softener kit that you use to make your own water to go in it for 20!

This is a fantastic iron – really really good – I had bought a Tefal one but had to return as it was very disappointing but to be fair Amazon offered me a replacement – I decided to return and purchase this one instead and I’m so happy I did
Ironing now takes seconds.
Like a steam gun! Ironing takes only a few seconds now! Glides right over and takes out any creases. 3 steam settings, however you need to use the correct water. I use reverse osmosis water. You will not be disappointed in this iron.

I Love ironing now
I have always wanted a steam generator but was very unsure, I iron for customers as part of my business and I can honestly say it is so fast and easy to iron. Only down side is the cable gets hot so keep arms out of reach !

My first steam iron and it was a great choice. I only use it for my bigger loads once a week which have become a lot easier. Descaling is very easy.
My 1st generation iron was this make so when it broke I tried another make which was more expensive and I had to send it back as it was complicated to use and I couldn’t get it to steam so I ordered this one and its brilliant would highly recommend

I read some reviews and decide on this Morphy-Richards steam generating model. We’ve never had one of those before, and when it arrived, my wife looked at it with some mild alarm, great big thing that made noises like a barista style coffee machine. Don’t want to sound like some “She does the ironing, I watch the footie” lazy bloke, she does the ironing watching the footie while I wash her car…On to the review, because the steam is generated in the base, the iron is lighter than a traditional steam iron and the time between refills is a lot longer, in fact one fill will do a whole week’s ironing, rather than the 4 or 5 refills required before. But the real difference is the amount of steam: ironing takes 30% less time. The machine itself is self cleaning and only requires tap water, so saves messing about with de-ionised water, although the instructions say you should use 50/50 tap/de-ionised, we use filtered water from the kitchen tap and all seems fine. Everyone who uses it remarks on the speed at which you can get ironing done, it really makes that much difference. In terms of build quality, the plastics are well fitting and look to be built to last, the temperature dial is the only slightly disappointing thing, it feels a bit flimsy and does not have the iron with the dot symbols like our old one does. Most clothing has these symbols, it’s not a deal-breaker, but as this is the major user control, just a bit more quality here would add to the overall feeling of good build quality of the rest of the machine. It was absolutely rubbish compared to my morphy Richards, took it back a bought this one, updated version of my old one. It does not disappoint! Very creased shirts & cotton linen is a breeze & the vertical steam is faultless! Would highly recommend!

Not as noisy as our previous Morphy Richards. Self clean seems pretty good and can see the operate water section easily. very easy to fill. Even on level 1 steam, gets creases out easily

This is my second steam generator in 6years.My first one was by Asda which was good for the money.But the Morphy Richards steam Generator is fantastic (If you can say that about a iron)The only problem is you can’t see how much water you have put in the tank you have to hold it up to the light.But I definitely would recommend this Steam Generator to any one.

The product is very good. I Have had this make before and am always pleased with the ease of use.
I’ve gone through a number of steam generator irons for one reason or other, but this is by far the best I’ve had.
No costly replaceable cartridges; quick (3 minutes) and automatic pain free descaling function; heats up from cold quickly (2 minutes) and [best of all] gives out plenty of steam for a long periods during ironing.
For this price range, which is where all my others have been – around the 150 mark – this trumps them all.

My old Morphy Richards one packed up after 3 years of us (limescale buildup destroyed the insides as it was a much cheaper version without limescale control) – this unit has a very good feature to stop that happening (not that I need the feature now I have a water softener).
The cable management on this is good but I find the power cable should be 10cm longer to wrap round a few times properly in the clip. Having said that, all cables do wrap round to make storage much easier than my old one which had no management feature.
Water capacity is great with this unit, but another niggle is the flap tends to drop down when filling from a tap and water goes all over the water unit.
Apart from that, the actual steaming and ironing side is phenomenal. Creased come out very well and so quickly. Temp control seems very accurate. Sole plate let’s you do fine detail well. Steam boost works well too.
This supposedly does vertical steaming but I haven’t found it work to remove creases – it does need an ironing board.

Easy to use.
This Steam Generator is a direct replacement of our old one we had for about 3 years. The reason for the replacement was a design fault which I hope has been resolved on this model, it was the out steam/power cables from the machine to the iron.
The power cable failed…due its use it must have worn out a power cable on its exit from the machine.
Be Warned…this is a failing of this machine, otherwise it does every thing it says on the can !!!!
Delivery fast. Love the Iron. Had the same model for 5yrs but damaged iron so ordered the same iron again. Does ironing in half the time , no effort. Only complaint is because of Purple tank hard to tell where water level is when filling.

A good iron plenty of steam and easy to use .The de scling feature makes it easy really pleased

I have tried a Phillips Steam Generator Iron previous to this one, but returned it as it was spitting out brown water when you used the steam function. I’m sad to say that this iron, on occasion has the same issue despite having a Scale function that is automatic. It has happened, perhaps, 3 or maybe 4 times and nowhere near as much as the Phillips. This Morphy Richards only seems to do it on the highest steam setting, though.
That aside, this is a great iron. Powerful enough on the low or middle setting to remove creases easily. One downside, I find, is the heat that is given off the ironing area is very high. Humidity is the word I’d use! So when ironing in the summer, you will get a sweat on!
Nice big water tank that can be removed while the iron is on. It does empty pretty fast if the high setting is used, though.
One irritation is the scale function. It is automatic and, as far as I’m aware, cannot be overridden. It will activate after a certain amount of times switched on. It only takes a few minutes (5 max) but you can’t use the iron while its descaling. I’ve found it best to set up the iron first and leave it to warm up while I sort out the other stuff, clothes and hangers etc.
It is quite heavy too when it’s full of water, so you will need a sturdy ironing board or somewhere to mount the iron like a sideboard etc.
Overall, I would purchased this iron again if I needed to.

I have previously owned this iron and bought a second but there are two issues, firstly the iron plate catches on sides and corners of materials due to the shaping of the iron plate it’s self the indents at the point. Secondly with my new burgundy colour it is very hard to see how high the water level is while being refilled, my last iron had a grey tank that made it easier to see clearly the level. Other than that very happy.

I have had a few steam generator irons and this one is by far the best! There is nothing negative I can say about this product, it does exactly what it should and it even switches itself off if not used for a certain amount of time.

Works well as expected although I don’t like the locking feature. It takes a lot of pressure to get the button to release the iron – not easy with arthritis in my hands.
Maybe it’s sad to say, but I Love this iron! I get through my ironing really quickly and if you have delicate blouses etc to iron, put them on a hanger and use the iron vertically, steam and the creases vanish! Great price too! I checked lots of web pages and this was best price.
