IT STINKS! - IT LITERALLY STINKS.. AMMONIA INSIDE
So you aren’t as alarmed as I was when my kid opened it and I thought he’d just dropped the worse case of the runs all over our carpet…. it’s got ammonia in.. and seriously.. it STINKS really bad… really…really bad.
Be warned.
It REALLY should be on the front as a warning.

Exciting Science Experiment Kit (however, can only give 4 stars as I’m waiting to see the end result)
I have bought this as a birthday present for my 7 year old nephew. All the National Geographic kits we have had so far have been excellent value and all have worked (which is essential if you are a kid), the kits have all had quick results usually, however, you need more patience for this kit.
This kit involves growing a crystal, that will form from the seed crystal and growing solution. Adult supervision is needed when starting this kit as boiling water is needed to dissolve the growing solution. (I would also add that the growing solution chemicals can be harmful if swallowed or gets in the eyes so make sure hands are thoroughly washed after doing this)
Once the growing solution is dissolved in the boiling water it needs to stand for a short time before the seed crystal is added. Then the fun begins but remember this is a slow process it will take up to a week for the crystals to form (Keeping it in a warm area will help speed the process slightly) and you need to try not to knock the container you are growing in.
My nephew was very excited by the process but he isn’t good at waiting for the results at the end, but he was happy with the kit.

I have a daughter who is very fascinated withrocks and gems. Thought I would give this a try and I’m glad I did! She was so excited and couldn’t wait to get going
Everything is included,My daughter is impatient so having to wait a few days did cause it’s issues.
But we followed the instructions to the letter and with in a few days it all happened my daughter was so pleased. Defo worth the buy Brilliant educational gift.

What fun. I’ve obviously had to help my 7 year old with this and the crystal is growing safely on top of his wardrobe. I wanted to save this for Christmas but received it at a discount for a review so felt obliged to open it early. Kids always want immediate results with everything and there will be a disappointed look from them when they don’t have a fist sized crystal within the first hour. But give it a few days and the seed crystal grows.
These are great kits to have tucked away in a cupboard and pulled out when a birthday comes along.
