Not bad for the price but i would personally rather pay more for higher quality. the other thing i wasnt a fan of is the wires having three connections (ethernet, power and one other) that hang down and you will have to tape or wrap if you dont want looking a mess as you will only need to use one to make them work. other than that the picture quality is decent for the price

Easy to install and set-up. Good picture quality both day & night.
Linked to my iPad via router no problem – however, I have had a couple of instances where connection to router / internet has dropped out. This remedied by powering off camera and switching back on. Hence only 4 star score.

The camera came as per delivery slot, it came packaged well and was easy to set up using the instructions. The camera is clear in both sunlight and at night time. It connects to both our phones and the Alexa to alert us of any movement outside which puts us at rest and a little less anxious which was one of the purposes in buying this CCTV camera

The camera is easy to set up, if you are patient. Its a bit fiddly to get the right position if you are alone, but a helper helps. The wifi is excellent, my camera is a long way from the router, but still works with help from a wifi booster. Motion detect is OK, but I think the human detection should be available out of the box, rather than an extra contract payment. The big downside to me is that you cannot access the cameras from a laptop or PC, you can only use a phone. This is OK for when your out, but yet again, its such a simple piece of IT, it should be available built in. Overall, for the price its OK.

Really great camera! Surprisingly good night vision, too. You have the option of subscribing to cloud storage for your recorded footage or recording to a SD card…when the card is full it will be automatically overwritten.
I turned off motion detection alerts because they’re very annoying, but these events are still flagged in your recorded footage for ease of finding them later. The photo shows a snapshot of one of these flagged detections, the moment a car pulls into the drive.
For those struggling to mount and format a SD card… I’d suggest formatting it on a pc first. FAT32 using a program like ‘easeus’…and remember to turn the camera OFF before inserting the card…otherwise it’ll never work.
Connecting to Amazon show was easy via the Alexa app. Just enable the Netvue skills, and link the accounts. Then it’s just a case of ‘Alexa, show me the front door’

Great camera, with SD card capability

Really good value as I got it at half RRP in a sale. Came quickly and it’s well made and has good instructions. I had it set up internally within about 10 minutes… And that was using BT WiFi (5/2.4 MHz).

Picture quality is far better than I thought it would be in the day and night and so far it’s caught our cats every time they move past it. Note however it seems to have a period of about 6 minutes from one alert to another. This makes sense as otherwise you’d get multiple alerts whenever anyone went to your door.

For those who want to use it through a window, you can, just turn off the IR lights in settings. The the red IR lights glowing red at night so look like a good deterrent though and visibility isn’t as good without them generally (but is through a window).

Works great to my phone and seems me alerts when with no cloud sub or sd card in it. You get a still image and a sound and can then click on it to get the video, which takes about 5 seconds to come up. Note there seems to be a 1-2 second delay in what happens at the camera to what you see on your phone.

2 way conversation works well, but is a little quiet. I think I can adjust this. Note when you press push to speak, you mute the other person and will miss anything they say. It’s not really synchronous.

Getting it working on my Echo Show is proving difficult. Alexa won’t detect it as a device and wants to install the older app. Enabling the new app via Alexa allows you to open the device and see alerts, but it’s clunky and trying to get a live feed to my show is so far proving impossible. I’ve good broadband (75mbs) and I’m using BT mesh. I’m pretty experienced with smart devices and was a telecoms engineer once but it’s not having it.

That said, for 25, this is amazing value, so much so I’ve bought another (you can link as many as you like to your phone account). It will alert me on my phone if anyone turns up and I can talk to them and record them. Power lead is 3 metres long and can fit through my window or I’ll drill a hole through the wall. Needs plugging into the mains and cannot work directly off your lighting circuit. You can extend the mains lead but may need a higher current transformer to do so.

I’ve not used the Ethernet link, but may do to see if that helps remove delay or helps in pairing with Alexa.

Oh, sound can be a bit flaky at times on live feed, but for what I want it for this is a great bit of kit and a hell of a lot less than a certain South American river’s version.

Update: I struggled to get an SD card working in this. I bought a Scandisk EVO Plus 128GB. It kept failing to mount after formatting. I eventually formatted it in a laptop (Fat32) and then put it in the camera. After a short format, it then worked. I spoke to Kris Ma on Netvue support to help with this issue. He also helped on the Alexa Echo SHow issue. It seems Google need to approve the latest version of the app (couple of weeks) and then it should work). Delay to get live support was about 15 minutes, but was helpful which was good.

Further Update: My Amazon Echo show now works fine since they updated the app. I can now say “Alexa show fron door” and it just works. Buffers a bit, but I’m happy enough.

In use the last few weeks these have been very good. I’ve had to power cycle each of the two I have once each but that’s it. They are sensitive to rain and lights being turned on and the steam from my boiler, but I can alter the sensitivity when I think there is a storm coming. The one I have under the eaves is a lot less susceptible to that.

I’ve not used any of the cloud subscriptions and the kit works excellently. Not sure at all what some of the reviews are on about. I can see clearly a good 30 metres even at nigh

If your buying to use with Alexa don’t bother. It buffers straight away then stops and starts. Also cameras can’t be viewed by their Web interface unlike other versions. If you want a camera to control via your phone or tablet these are great and work very well.

I like how easy this camera is to set up. Following the instructions is normally quite daunting and then you get to the end and find you have an error or something. Well not with this camera. It was so easy and straightforward. I followed the instructions and before I knew it the camera was done and set. I bought two of these, one for the front and one for the back of the house. The motion detection is really good, I turned the sensitivity down a bit as it really is sensitive. The night vision is great. Works well and although you probably wouldn’t be able to identify an intruder it would certainly help. The image quality is good, could it be better? Yes definitely but for the price it is perfectly adequate. The digital zoom is ok but as with all digital zooms, as soon as you go above 2-3x it’s grainy. Do I like these? Yes very much. Would I buy more? I already have. Would I recommend them? Yes, if you want a good, solid built CCTV camera with great WiFi so you can access from anywhere, an easy to use app interface. Looks good, although that’s not crucial, and at a really reasonable price then this works well.

Easily fitted for coverage of the garden. Picture quality is very good especially the night vision. Amazingly captured an owl swooping into the garden, taking a mouse I assume in the early hours 2am when it was pitch black, impressed. Some false triggers in the heavy rain and wind, but adjusting the sensitivity appears to have sorted them. Still to try the Human only detection feature. Solid build and good quality. Welcome gift of 12 months subscription useful for 12 months of cloud storage (basic package). Overall very impressed so far.

This is a brillant cctv camera as we bought it too oversee the front of our property. The setup was very easy and straight forward! The night vision is excellent picture along with the normal day picture and the app is wonderful to use if out and about, you do get notifications straight away. Only issue I had was I couldnt scan qr code on setup but no issues though as i went manually with I’d which is at bottom of camera device.

I’ve now owned my Netvue camera for a couple of weeks. I’m very pleased with it. It was easy to set up, it seems very reliable, it works well with Alexa and the daylight picture quality is excellent. Night vision is surprisingly good too.

    A few tips:

The camera works with 2.4g WiFi, not 5g. It helps to switch your phone to 2.4g when setting it up. My WiFi signal is not strong where the camera is located, but even with a weak signal the camera seems very reliable. Play back either from the cloud or the sd card works well.

The leads attached to it are quite bulky. You only need the small power lead unless you want to hard wire the ethernet connection. I decided to drill just a 10mm hole for the power lead and put the rest of the fittings in a waterproof external junction box, located next to the camera. I pulled the power lead from inside and connected it up inside the junction box.

I took care to position the junction box so that it did not interfere with the adjustment of the camera angle.

In any case the leads are not very long coming out of the camera. To get all three through a cavity wall would be very tricky, and they might not be long enough anyway.

When drilling the hole in the wall , attach a bit of strong thread to the end of the drill bit before retracting it. You can then use the thread to pull though the lead from the power adapter. (very important if you have a cavity wall)

The WiFi antenna is slightly awkwardly positioned especially if you want to angle the camera to the left. I did quite a bit of experimentation with the camera angle before screwing it to the wall. Then I just made final fine adjustments. It was a bit fiddly but the end result was OK. I feel the positioning of the antenna on the camera could be improved.

Think about how high to position the camera. Too low and intruders could reach it and obscure or damage it. Too high and it will not capture faces. Again I experimented before settling on my final fitting location.

It is well worth putting a 128gb sd card in the camera to supplement any cloud recording. If you do this you will only need the cloud service as a backup. Fit the card in the camera BEFORE screwing the camera to the wall. The screws holding the access plate to the inside are a bit stiff and you will lose them if you try to unscrew them in situ.

Be aware that there are privacy laws affecting the use of cctv cameras. Check that you comply with these. At the very least you will need to display some warning signs that cctv is in use, and its purpose. I think netvue ought to include info about this and maybe a couple of yellow stickers.

I found it very easy to link the camera to Alexa and it is easy then to view the camera on an Alexa device including a fire TV stick by the command “Alexa, show Driveway”. (or whatever name you have given the camera)

I experimented a lot with the motion zones and sensitivity. In the end I left it on all zones and maximum sensitivity. This means every tiny movement including insects and rain triggers event recording. I then disabled notifications to my phone so that I did not get incessant notifications. I decided that I would not particularly want to deal with intruders in real time. I hope the camera will mostly act as a deterrent, but if someone is persistent I will at least have a record of their activity that hopefully will he useful to the police.

    ………..

Overall I am very pleased with the camera.

The only problem I had was that my WiFi failed and the camera lost connection. This was not a fault of the camera. It was resolved by switching off and restoring the power to the camera. It then reconnected to my (weak) WiFi signal without my intervention.

Netvue have given me a complimentary basic one year cloud subscription. This is nice to have, but only as a backup. Using an sd card provides a more instant access to full recording, rather than short bursts via the cloud. I will decide when this expires whether to pay for ongoing cloud access. I probably would not bother with any of the offered supplementary cloud services each of which comes at incremental cost.

Excellent camera - but read these tips before fitting

Brought this product to improve security at home.

Easy to install and set up initially, but plagued at first with alarms, particularly at night from passing headlights. Takes a while to find the appropriate settings to get a balance. One word of warning, rain will set off alarms (as is the case apparently with all such systems)

Overall happy, would be ideal for a location where passing traffic (particularly at night) doesn’t have an impact.

Having a couple of these especially the indoor cameras I thought it a great idea to get another for the drive.
    1. Easy setup
    2. Talk through it when it goes wing
    3. Once setup so so easy to install rather install then setup
    4. Picture quality is fantastic
    5. Night vision is a dream
    6. Nice to be about to store in SD card or online

So in summary this camera has a breeze to setup, then install just as easy, then the quality is fantastic both in daylight and at night using the infrared lighting.

Buy one their customer service is good too

Bought this as a black Friday deal and is truly amazing, Picture quality is so good I can read the registration numbers of cars passing in the street, given that we live in a close, no-one escapes my camera. Motion detection brilliant, night vision brilliant. Watching my front door from other locations via mobile, brilliant. Haven’t connected to Alexa yet but working on that one. It was difficult to set up I must admit, 12 attempts, but my perseverance paid off. seriously want another camera for the back of my house. Powerful microphone too, and two way conversations also brilliant. It could not be designed better. Using the micro SD card and is superb at rewinding events, cloud would not better this and it is free. At this price your home and neighbours security could not be better.

I have had this camera installed for 1 week now, I mounted it at the front of the house so that I had full view of my front door and side door. The installation was simple and the connection to my house Wifi and Alexa apps was relatively straight forward. I can now say “see front door” and the view from my camera is displayed on the TV (or it can be viewed easily within the app on my phone or tablet). The night vision is great and the motion detection seems to work well (the sensitivity can be adjusted). I know that there are cameras on the market that have a better picture quality but they are much more expensive. This one is of great quality for its price.

What isn’t reported is the audio quality is amazing, so yes the still & video images are also perfect, we just love streaming the audio from our holiday home in France, hearing distant buzzards, cows, owls at night etc. Motion detection only picks up things 3 or 4m at most, and even with mow motion sensitivity, insects are always triggering movement, but can’t be helped. Rare but occasional camera crashes have prompted me to invest in Smart Plugs for each, so I can remotely hard reset them for when it has crashed, and that has helped me to remotely recover a disconnected camera. I am actually blind, setting these cameras up for my sighted family, so credit to Netvue to make the app and set up so easy for me, all accessible with IOS VoiceOver. I hate the download method though for images or video clips and need sighted help for this. Otherwise, perhaps I’m the only blind person successfully managing 5 of these fantastic home security cameras. They have survived masive rain storms and winds, and just keep going, perfect.

I have bought a few Netvue indoor cameras and I have always been impressed with them. So, in need of an outdoor one, I purchased this unit.

Installation was quick and both the Netvue and Alexa apps found and registered the camera quickly.

Day time picture quality is great, really clear as you can see in the photo. However, in my case the proximity of the metal post meant that the infrared light was bouncing back, diminishing its night time use.
I will move the camera soon to see if it improves the quality.

As I wanted to fit the camera’s leads into a waterproof junction box, the size of the connectors was a pain. Surely, there should be a way to temporarily undo the cable from the camera, feed it through a gap or hole on a box etc. and then refit. Not sure how people feed the HUGE cable through a wall etc.

I know this issue isn’t unique to Netvue as I’ve seen it on other CCTV cameras. Maybe the waterproofing of the camera would be compromised by my idea.

Anyway, a great camera at a good price which has a vet useable app and great Alexa integration.

    Well worth the money!

Update – having moved the camera slightly, I am getting much better night vision now as the IR lights are not bouncing off the posts. A great product!

    Great camera

I have 6 of these cameras. For the price, I think that they are hard to beat. I’ve had one or two issues along the way BUT they have really good support. Online chat available 24 hours a day and very knowledgeable. Most recently, I contacted support, they have an issue, they know about it, they know how to work around it and they are working on a firmware fix. When you consider that many mainstream companies can’t even be contacted, this level of support is excellent.

I ordered this to replace a cheap camera that kept loosing its settings and so far this camera has worked really well.
Setup was very simple using the app’ after which it updated its firmware and was ready to use within an hour of opening the box, including setting it up with Alexa, which also works really well on this camera. The only downside is that you can’t view this on the web, only via the app’ and Alexa, so you won’t be able to stream it live online, however you can post your recordings if thats what you want it for. I have also noticed that heavy rain can trigger the motion capture even when set to human only but to be fair this setting is a beta test so will likely get better in time.
I installed a 128gb SD card which looks like it will give me a several days of HD recording, if you want to save space on the card then you also have the option of it recoding only when motion is detected. I have also setup cloud storage for when motion occurs and that is very cheap compared to some other makers costing less then $20 for the year.
The camera is well built and adjustable on two axis when fitting to get the angle correct, I have it coving my drive and front garden, so I needed it angled slightly downwards which is a very easy adjustment using the supplied hex key.
From start to finish this has been the easiest camera to install and setup that I have ever tried and the picture quality in daytime and at night is very good, sharp and clear, giving me piece of mind now for our security.
I am now thinking of getting another one for my back garden, then both cameras can be viewed from the same app’.
Very good quality and great value,
    Recommended.

We ordered a second camera based on our experience of the first one. I was really happy to find that EVERYTHING you need for installation is in the box including screws and a drill.
The setup is really easy and now BOTH cameras are in the app so new can view these anywhere.
Also do the wi-if pairing right next to your home router BEFORE you install it on the outside of your house.
The GREAT thing for me is that it also works with ALEXA show so I can say “Alexa show me the gate cam” or “Alexa show me the back door cam” and it does! The picture quality is great and with the addition of a storage account or adding a memory card you can see recorded events and ALSO down load them to your phone or computer.
5 STAR product or 6 if I could!

This was so easy to unbox and setup I had it running within 20 mins using no more nails tape rather than drilling.
I hate setting up tech normally and somehow I felt cheated by the ease that the camera set up in. Scan the barcode with the app and all the work is done for you even identifying the right network for the camera was automatic.
The picture is crisp and clear the night picture the same. I cannot comment on motion detection just yet as nothing really happens
Around my way and its normally vandals when it does so I got the camera to see who they are.
    Superb bit of kit.

These have excellent image quality for the price range, night vision is clear, audio has good range. My only gripe is the software is lacking in options, customisation and certain features that could be useful. A PC version of software would be very helpful too.

Apart from the above I’m happy with the quality of the actual product and image quality.

Work really well day and night! Motion detection settings can be adjusted with regards to sensitivity and area they detect. Would definitely buy again! Software is super easy once you have the app (which is free) just follow the instructions and you’re ready to go. Cable that comes with it is about 3m but you can buy 10m extensions for like 5! Comes with screws and raw plugs.

Purchased a Netvue Security Camera, had a little problem with formatting my memory card however sorted it by formatting the SD card fully on my computer, then reformatted it again on the Netvue app.
    Then all worked great.
Fantastic picture in the day and at night time, in fact I’m amazed at the great quality of the night shots.
The fact you can add a SD card is a real bonus too.
I already own a camera by another company which was far more expensive and it’s no better than the Netvue.
At the moment I would most definitely recommend this camera for quality, and value for the money.

Easy to set up. The app has videos to talk you through the process. I used the QR codes to get connected to my WiFi which was fairly simple. I had to go into the router settings to disable my 5G and then once the cameras were connected I just switched the 5G back on. You do need to drill quite a big hole through the wall to allow for the wires to fit through: 20mm drill bit. The micro SD is not included so make sure to buy at the same time. Reasonable price compared to other similar cameras with similar functions. Good budget buy.

Great device, delivery was ahead of schedule and very prompt, installation was easy and adding the device to the app was simple.

I am very pleased with the camera and would give 5 stars only for the picture loses a little bit of focus at approx 10-15 yards. If this could be improved then 5 stars no doubt. But for the price still a great product with easy to use app.

This camera is very clear in the day, not so at night, it’s full colour in the day, at night it’s black and white, which is fine, but the picture is not very clear, to be able to see the person/persons as in the day time, at the same place and distance, Iv checked there’s nothing blocking the view on the lens and wiped the lens, just in case there was something blocking vision, but I’m very happy with it so far, price is good to, boxed and presented well with clear instruction and good fittings. Colour blends well with where it’s positioned to, we have two white ones now front/back, so no intruder will escape unseen if there were to be one, we also have it connected Alexa to, great product thank you

Having installed a similar camera some years ago and having it finally fail due to the ravages of the UK weather, I bought this as a replacement. Wonderful! The App seems to be well built and easy to use. The camera itself was a breeze to connect the wifi (in contrast to the camera it replaced!) and gives a great picture. The box even contained the drill bit to drill the holes to mount the camera on the wall. Fantastic. What’s not to like? Highly recommended!

The netvue app is very intuitive and easy to use and is a great way of monitoring both my driveway and garden.

Here are the great features of this camera

    – Build quality, instructions and ease of use
    – Excellent 1080p video picture quality
    – So impressed it supports up to 64Gb SD Card!
    – The two-way audio – great for when someone is at the door
    – Wide Field of view
    – I can see my cameras on my alexa echo show
    – Excellent night vision

Installed this last week and really happy so far. Bear in mind that you do need to have an account to store images on their cloud server – the other option is to use a mini SD card in the camera although I do wonder how secure/reliable that is in the case that a thief or trespasser targets the camera itself. But once you figure that out the picture quality is good, the night vision is excellent and I enjoy getting notifications when motion has been detected. I use it to keep an eye on the entrance and I would recommend.

This was so easy to setup! I plugged in the Ethernet and powered it up. I then configured the WiFi settings and disconnected the Ethernet and rebooted it. All working fine.

I installed it in the porch and the picture is really clear. I like the way you can configure the detection area so can exclude things like bushes that move in the wind.

I found out that a bat visits the porch most evenings but have reduced the detection sensitivity so that it doesn’t trigger an alert in the early hours.

A great camera for the money. I can’t recommend it enough!

We can’t see who is coming to our front door when we are at the back of the house so I bought this camera just to have on my tablet when I am in the kitchen and it saves me keep running around to the front at every sound. I haven’t had time to work out the recording side of it yet because it’s not really what I wanted it for but I will when i get time to play with it. I have put an 128GB SanDisk Elite Ultra in it and formatted it so I guess it’s working. I found it easy to set up as I have another camera of a different make but it was similar to connect up. I am please with it. I think its about 55 for a years subscription to the cloud which I think is reasonable. ( ps they do offer a free 64 SD card when you email a copy of your review but I don’t think its on condition that you write a good one I think it is any review.)

Good clear picture day and nigh

After hearing of several house break-ins and cars being stolen or damaged in the local area, I decided it was time to up my security. This was recommended by a neighbour so I thought, why not. It’s a good price, has good night vision and easy to set up.
One slight grumble is the length of the connector leads . Unless you are willing to drill a hole through your wall, the connector leads will remain outside the house – which means easy to disconnect.

I did have a bit of an issue connecting to wifi – but that may be my wifi rather than the camera. However, the aftersales care team were very helpful and tried various things to resolve the issue. I have unfortunately, ended up with a LAN connection to my router – but as I said earlier, this may be my internet supplier issues.

What I love is the fact I can check in using my mobile – as there is a netview app, I can see what the camera is seeing and also speak through the camera.
    Definitely worth the money.

I’ve had a Netvue indoors camera for a couple of years now, and after the cars being damaged a few times decided to get an outdoor camera.
Setup was easy and the Netvue App is easy to use. Night mode is clear and can see what’s going on really well.
It has the function to talk though the app, which has come in handy when I’ve had deliveries arrive and not been in.
Recommended this camera to a friend who also had his car vandalised and he brought 2 after seeing his good they were.
Also set up to my Alexa show which was easy

    This review is for the:

    NETVUE
Netvue Outdoor Security Camera 1080P Waterproof Wireless WiFi Bullet Camera IR Night Vision Survinence System Works with Alexa, Two Way Audio, AI. Human Detection, Support up to 128G SD Card.

I purchased this device as I wanted some extra security as my car was keyed along both sides of the car.

After spending a great deal of time looking a various different device’s, from the most expensive “named” device, which were all well above my budget. I then looked on Amazon, searching by reviews followed by price. The Netvue came up near the top of the review list, and I can see why!

In addition to the PIR function you also have infrared lights, enabling you to see perfectly clearly in the dark. In addition it connects to my Amazon Echo Show 5. Therefore if an alerts is triggered at night, I simply say “Alexa show me my Netvue camera , the image is immediately displayed on screen.

It also has a two way speaker built in, so you can not only hear what is going on, but you could use the microphone function to tell anyone, “Smile, you’re on candid Camera “.

I had the camera professionally installed, not because it is difficult to install, more that I am disabled!

Coupled with my Video Doorbell, I now have complete coverage of the front of my house. You will need to spend a little time adjusting the sensors to best suit your own needs. But should you have any problems, Netvue offer a 24/7 live chat support facility.

It should be noted however, that this camera does not come with an SD card. It can take upto a 128gb card. But I would suggest that you buy a high Endurance U3 class 10 card. I was advised that these are the best cards for CCTV, Dashcams etc and can record upto 4K.

My neighbour saw the camera being installed and obviously keeping his distance (social distancing) viewed the display on my phone . He immediately asked me to send him the link. For the price, you get a high quality device, 24/7 support and the piece of mind that your property is covered.

WARNING . CCTV Cameras do come under the Data Protection Act. You should therefore ensure that only your property is covered.

I am a little surprised that the camera comes with a 3m power supply, but also has 3X 6 inch cables coming out of the back. These are for power, LAN connection to a router and a master reset button. As I had mine professionally installed, they also installed a waterproof box to secure these cables. I would have thought it would be much better to have these cables sealed together, otherwise you may have a few problems with the 2 (in my case), unused cables.

In addition, you can share the camera display and alert with upto 6 people. Handy if your going away.

However, for the price and due to the fact it is Alexa compatible, this device is excellent value for money. You can, if you so wish subscribe to extra functionality, such as cloud storage and human detection via the Netvue website, but these are charged at a monthly rate. On the website all prices are shown in $, and need a credit card to bill against. I have asked the question if they can charge in s and use PayPal but I am still awaiting a reply.

In summary, an excellent CCTV camera with Alexa functionality for only 39.99. I really don’t think you can go wrong. Obviously you will need to buy an appropriate SD card, but if you type High Endurance U3 SD card on Amazon you can get a good quality one (128gb) for about 15. Would of warning dont go for the cheaper option available on other sights as most are fake and will either fail or potentially damage the camera.
A solid 5 not only for the camera, but also the free 24/7 support, which I’ve already used.

I hope you found this review useful

    Excellent CCTV camera, amazing Price

This is my second outdoor camera. The first one I bought because it was cheap and wanted to see how much we would use it. I always thought I would replace it with a more expensive system if we liked having a cam.

Not only did we like it but it was so good that I have deciddd to stick with Netvue and buy a second camera. They are easy to set up and adding the second camera was simple too. Beware though you do need to buy SD cards to run them unless you pay for the cloud storage. Bear this in mind when comparing with other systems. For me I decided that this was still a cost effective option. I have fitted cctv specific 64gb cards and had no issues with them.

The unit itself I sturdy and feels a quality item, although the power lead could with being a bit longer. The idea is to drill a hole in you wall big enough to fit the various plugs through but I didn’t bother with that. I have just run the power lead through a window and left the plugs outside wrapped in a sandwich bag and it has been fine so far.
I would say the picture is very good and you get a really good wide view which helps to give good coverage. Night time image is also nice and clear.

The netvue app also seems to be simple to use and I have had no connection issues with the WiFi. It has plenty of options to fine tune the cameras to do what you want, when you want them too.
The microphone thing works well although I do t use it.
The only problem I have had is with the sensitivity. I have found it really hard to get a setting that picks up humans but doesn’t pick up every little bug that flies past. I started at max and kept turning it down until it stopped picking up people and then turned it back up a notch. Perfect in the day but in night vision mode it’s a bit over sensitive.

Overall though, considering this is a 50 cam (by the time you add the SD) it offers great value for money. High quality unit and a high quality app to run it plus it sends notifications and an image to my watch. If your looking for your first camera on a budget you should seriously consider one of these!

I now have 3 Vigil cameras outside & 2 Homecams indoors. They can be individually viewed through the app on my phone with adequate clarity both day & night (monochrome) Motion detection is a bit unreliable I’ve found & can miss the moment. They are all either very easy to set up or not able at all. My only comparison is a Ring doorbell which was almost plug’n’play. There are some improvements to be made but overall for the money they are good.

This is my second purchase of a Netvue camera. The image quality, particularly when considering the price, is very good. The sound quality is also good. I purchased this over other products due to the previous positive reviews and the ability to record using an SD card rather than having to pay a subscription fee. If you intend to use an SD card, enter this in to the camera slot before fitting – it can be tricky to do this at a later date, once fitted.

The only negative would be the motion detection – it is difficult to set at the correct sensitivity so that it detects people, but not rain etc.

My car recently had a visitor in the night, so wanted install a security camera on my driveway to keep an eye on it. I had searched for hundreds of cameras and found this one and I am very pleased with my purchase.
This security camera is compact, and was relatively easy to install and set up, the performance of this camera is great during both night and day, just what I needed! The motion sensor function will also trigger a notification on the Netvue application if anyone walks in front of it. There is also a speaking capability to tell any potential unwanted visitors to “Clear off”

I bought this camera to compliment my professionally installed CCTV system. As I required a camera to monitor the path of my property leading upto my gate, I thought this would be ideal and not very obtrusive. The movement detection is very good and I get alerts on my phone whilst I am out or away from the property and I am able to use the two way talk facility to either converse with the intruder or issue a warning.

Night vision is very good, the only draw back is if using indoors to look out, the night LEDS can not be turned of, even though I force the camera to use day mode only. This would be a good feature to have as IR bounces of the glass and the ones used are visible, making a fully covert installation more difficult. Would be nice to be able to turn the LEDS off if in permanent day mode. This is more a personal thing and does not detract from the operation of the camera as intended, so not dropping the score.

The positives are easy setup, quick link to app and camera tells you when things are not right during the setup procedure. Not had any problems running the camera and has worked tirelessly now for a lengthy period.

However, very happy and feel the bang for buck is outstanding and the app is very good to.

I purchased this Netvue Vigil camera after a spate of van break-ins in our area. It was very easy to install in the position I wanted it. I had to install a Wi-Fi range extender as it was a fair distance from the router. The HD (or SD,) pic is very clear. The two way mic and speaker is pretty clear. The alert became annoying at night by picking up all sorts of things like foxes and even moths or bats but I reduced the sensitivity and that stopped but still picks up human movement. I’m going to buy a second one for the front as well now. Very happy with it.

Bought this as my first security camera and was pleasantly suprised. it’s a lot sturdier that I was expecting for the price. The picture quality is really sharp and pics up audio fantastically. I was apprehensive about the set up as I’m not very technically minded however there isn’t really a lot of setting up to do. The only draw back I found was the app wasn’t compatible with my Amazon fire tablet but I can use it with ease on my fire tv with Alexa. The kids have had great fun asking to see the garden so worth the money for the entertainment. Would definitely buy another!

Extremely easy setup via wifi and easy installation onto the wall.
The quality of this camera doesn’t match the price, I would expect to pay a lot more for one that has all these features and such a good picture quality both day and night.
Setup the motion detection and tested it a couple of times and it’s a very useful feature. It sends a notification straight to my phone if it detects movement in the areas I’ve selected.
No hard drive or box needed like traditional CCTV which makes it easy to add other Netvue products to your setup.
Highly recommend this product if you want wireless CCTV with amazing quality pictures without it breaking the bank!

For the money this is a wonderful bit of kit. Easy to install and clear instructions. Great picture resolution day and night. App works like a dream. Its a shame they don’t do a solar version since I would buy three or four more.
The only draw backs I found was that its powered on a transformer plug meaning its not just a simple mains cable connector on your house wall – you need to draw the power cable in to connect a plug to a mains socket. This is not practical in so many locations. Would recommend for where its practical to install although if you can afford it the netvue motor based unit which rotates makes more sense for those wanting more practicality.

I bought two of those camera for my newly bought house for both front and rear. I have only managed to connect the one for the front, and I must say I am pretty impressed. The picture quality in day is pretty good. Even the nighttime photos in dark are clear. The only minor niggle is to retrieve the footage from the sd card as the app is a bit limited for free user.

We are very happy with our purchase! It was so very easy to install and set up. It connected to our WiFi on first try. Would definitely recommend. This is our first experience of installing and setting up our own outdoor camera and it couldn’t have been any easier. It also connects to our Amazon Echo Show and you can share your video feed with others by simply downloading the app and creating a free account.

A fantastic purchase. 100% happy. The image is very clear and we are looking forward to seeing the night vision view when it gets dark later.

I’ve been using Netvue cameras for about 6 months now. Slowly adding more and more to the property. I love the app and the optional cloud services at affordable prices. Installation is also fast and easy with the app.

I did have a fee issues with the cameras along the way. I did have one fail on me recently, after 6 months. Netvue without hesitation has replaced it after attempting a fee trouble shooting techniques. And some cameras do lose connection sometimes. Not cool, but it also happened with other brands over the past two years. Overall I am extremely happy, hence I buy more.

I like the value for money. Good video and audio, two way audio, flexible and easy to use app plus additional services. Hope this review helps.

The package arrived promptly and was well packed. The quick start guide is in excellent English and supported by clear videos to guide you through the setup. (NB: this camera will only work with 2.4gHz routers.) Setup for the first camera took about 15 mins, second one about half of that. Screws and plugs are provided as well as a drilling template. Cable connections are only about 500mm long so an external junction box may be required, the Ethernet (optional) connector is quite bulky so you’ll need to drill a large hole if you want to bring it indoors. Power cable is about 4m so most folks are going to need an extension cable. Camera construction is mostly cast alloy with a polymer sunshade so long term durability should be good. Picture quality by day and night is good considering the price, microphones are sensitive and the speaker is audible, but not bullhorn like. The app works well, though I haven’t got an Alexa to try it out on, but ideal to find out what the noise in the garden is without getting out of bed.

Updates are done at 3am in the morning, so it doesn’t disupt anything, although you can change the time to update. I am very pleased with this camera and would recommend it to anyone.
Advice: Play with the motion sensor sensitivity settings, as if too high, it picks up flys, so test it before you go to sleep lol or it will wake you up all night lol

Like the look and feel of this camera. Easy to set up and get fitted. Slight issue with the large network cable, as I had to drill a very large hole to get this mounted to the wall so that no cables were showing. I’m using the wifi mode, so it would have been nice if that cable could have just been removed, rather than having to buy a huge masonry drill.

I’d like to connect this to my own NAS drive or EyeSpy software, but IP address access is not allowed.
The quality of the image in great until it gets fully dark. We have a couple of quite bright street lights near our driveway so not sure why the midnight images appear so dark.

Either way though. Good product for the price.

Great product but the iOS app needs a few updates to really make it outstanding.

The camera was very easy to set up, I did have some difficulty getting it to connect to the netvue server but overcame this by using the QR code option. I needed to mount the camera a long way from the modem and as well live in an old house with thick walls I was quite surprised that it still worked with wifi, I did however use a TP link with cat 5 cable to ensure good connection. I also like the fact that I can link to my phone.

The only down side was running the camera cables which meant I had to drill a 1 inch hole in my shed wall to run the cables in side. I would like to mount one of these cameras looking down the front of our property but this would mean drilling a similar hole through an 18 inch thick wall which I won’t be able to do so may have to look for a product with just a power cable. This is the reason I’ve only given 4 stars overall.

When received this product and opened the package, i was immediately impressed with the build quality of the camera, installation instructions could have been a little clearer but nonetheless I managed to install and commission relatively easy for a techno dinosaur. Constructive observation on this product is that it needs to have a wind muffling sheild or something; when the wind is blowing the distortion on the otherwise clear sound frustrating. The sensitivity function on the movement detection is great, once you disciver your optimum setting to avoid flies and the like activating the camera.

So easy to set up and get connected, step by step simple instructions, took all of about 10 mins. Picture quality is good both day and night. Good conectivity as my camerat is about 60ft away from my router mounted on my garage, no issues so far ! Only let down is the motion detection, it doesn’t pick my 6ft frame up but does trigger with flies. Have tried adjusting the sensitivity but can’t get it to work properly but for a camera of this price I can’t complain too much. The app is good and easily navigated and used. So all in all I am pleased with my purchase and would recommend just as long as you nare not totally dependent on the Motion Detection facility. 1 year free Motion Video Cloud Storage offer sounds good too.

This camera arrived within 2 days of being ordered and its certainly worth it’s very low price tag. You can record for weeks depending on the memory card that you insert on the card! The picture quality is also very good and I have yet to have any issues with the easy to use app. Sometimes it does log you out and you simply need to log pack into your account but if anything I like this feature as it ensures that I don’t forget the password for the app! You can also save recordings on your phone if you need to use them at a later date as the memory card writes over it’s old memory which means you do not have to touch the camera once it’s set up.

Timely arrival and well packed, everything you could require during fitting is inside the box, including an Allen key and Masonary bit, I only needed a 25mm speed bit and screwdriver to fix the camera to our eaves. I had some difficulty in pairing the camera initially but then we are in a notoriously bad area for Wi-Fi signal, but with a little help from the live chat line and a bit of patience in retrying the setting up process, it was successful, (you will need your Wi-Fi password to hand). Once set up the camera initiates immediately when reattached to the power supply, pretty useful when you are stuck up a ladder during installation. Getting the required view was easy enough, I fitted the camera with the adjusting screw loose, called up the viewing page on my mobile and then moved the camera to suit before retightening the adjustment screw. I was delighted with the daytime clarity of the image and amazed by the night view, the sound quality was also excellent. The best part of the whole process was in the ability to be able to talk through the camera to people passing, I had our neighbour looking for me under the car, we were in stitches for hours playing it back, ( this might not be recommended practise as our neighbour has a great sense of humour, not all neighbours do). Great product at a good price, we are delighted and a little amazed with this piece of kit.

I had issues setting up WiFi connection but it turned out to be user error my end. Having said that the set up using noises needs to be more clearer to the user. Anyways the support I received from NetVue was second to none. I work in IT services and this was what companies should aspire to.

First, I must say that this is the first CCTV camera I have ever had so cannot compare to any other. I received the camera a few days ago and finally I managed to install it today. The whole process took approximately 40 minutes so it was quite straight forward. The connection to the internet (wireless) is quite simple however I had to try a few times, but once connected the signal was pretty good. I tried the motion detection and speakers and everything works really well.

Great buy, I bought this with a 128gb SD card (integral 4k high speed) also from Amazon. Both arrived next day. The camera was basically plug and play and very easy to set up via the free Netvue app, two small screws gets you access to the SD card cover. Initially the SD card didn’t load but after an internal format it was found and works as it should. The picture and sound is perfect and Alexa now gives me movement notifications, I can also view it on my Amazon show and TV via my fire stick, although there is a slight delay with that. I didn’t plan on getting the cloud account for backup as you can just rely on the SD card to record and remotely download from that, however the yearly cloud cover is very reasonably priced so I’ll probably get that as well. Very pleased with it, I’m now considering getting an additional one. Bargain.

I was looking for an external camera to cover the rear of my property.
There was a raft of different types of camera out there. Many of which, seemed to be let down by expensive subscriptions, and buggy apps.

I went for the Netvue, as you can access the recordings (if you fit a micro SD card) without a subscription.

So I fitted a 64gig micro SD and all seems to be well so far.

That said, the Netvue app does seem to working OK (currently on the free trial) and the ongoing subscription costs do not seem to be too excessive.

I should note that setup and installation was a breeze. I connected via Wifi (prior to fitting) and the app took me through each step of the process with ease.

Although not being PoE is a bit of a pain on an outdoor camera, this is an excellent piece of gear and Fantastic value. The motion detection is just incredible, better than any of the other cameras I bought to try out. I have not yet installed one outdoors but appreciate that they included tools, template and plugs to so this.

If this was PoE it would be the most incredible camera ever. I don’t really understand why it has ethernet without using it for power. The WiFi signal on it is great on it.

Very easy to install and set up. Ordered three and first two were to replace two analog cameras at the front of the house. WiFi set up was easy and straight forward.

Motion sense alerts work well. The set up allows excluding parts of the image, so I don’t get alerts from someone in the view only passing by on the sidewalk. I’m still playing with the settings since I get alerts when the porch light is turned on or off.

the third was installed as a front-facing view from the back of our yard. It uses a wired connection and it was as easy as the WiFi set up for the first two.

I will definitely be purchasing this company’s products again.

This camera is exceptional for the price. We have 2 and must say they are really good! The picture is crystal clear and we invest a little more (approx 5 per month) to perfect the motion detector. It is the AI function which you need to pay for separately however it works without it too but withkut it you get notifications for rain drops and flys which quickly gets annoying. The sound function is not great on our ones it could just be the Wi-Fi signal on our way up but both cameras only pick up some of what we say through the app when holding the button. For the price we were not really to upset by this. We were not expecting much but we’re very happily surprised by the amazing return for investment. We feel much more secure.

I needed a camera so I could see who is approaching my front door on my phone, this one does that brilliantly and so much more. It came with everything, even a masonry drill bit. I can have a two-way conversation with a visitor, day or night in full 1080P HD video and everything is recorded to the internal Micro SD card, there’s also a cloud storage solution. The camera can be configured for outdoor motion detection with an advanced algorithm which eliminates false alarms and it’s tough, this is a solid, well built piece of equipment that can handle the elements. Oh, and it plays with Alexa

    Used as security camera.
Nice neat cameras. Easy to set up. Easy to use. Good resolution on playback. Easy retrieval of clips. Records when it hears something as well as sees something. There is a slight delay on recording though.
Vision and sound very good – much better than the fish eye lens effects of the doorbell cameras – and yes you can talk through this camera (if you want to)
Great night vision. Be careful to try to shelter it a bit or it will record rain flashing past the lens.
Its even easy to get it to not acknowledge the bit of view that always has the tree waving about in the way too.
I like these cameras & would definitely recommend them. I would get another if I could get my wifi to reach as far as I need it to.

I got this to keep an eye on my front door and driveway.
What an excellent piece of kit. I was a little apprehensive when I found I had to download an app to set it up as quite often the apps are rubbish, fail to connect and generally a pain to use. Not so with the Netvue. It could not have been easier. It connected to the server/camera in about 15 seconds and I could see the image clearly straight away. There is about a 1.5 seconds lag between real life and the image you see on the mobile. I manually ran a Firmware update and this worked flawlessly as well.
I have mounted this on the soffit of my house looking down at the driveway. My only gripe (and this is not a fault of the product) is that you have to drill quite a big hole to fit the Ethernet connector through. The alternative would be to mount a small waterproof box on the wall and then terminate the cables in that, but to be honest it’s not the end of the world.
The microphone is very sensitive and the audio quality is pretty good. We have a street light close by and this means I haven’t checked how good the night vision is in complete darkness, but with the street light on you can see everything.
For the amount this costs, I am very surprised how good it is and so simple to setup and configure.
The only thing I haven’t mentioned, the built quality, mainly metal. It’s quite heavy and looks like it is built to last…. time will tell.

Bought the Netvue camera after looking at lots of others and loads of reviews. It is dead easy to install and worked first time following the clear instructions. Upgraded the firmware, which is pretty automatic.
The camera shows very clear wide angle images by day in full colour and equally clear images at night in black and white. There is a time delay when watching on my phone but that is to be expected with all devices of this type. It was equally easy to pair it with Alexa but the results are less satisfactory. Pretty sure this is down to less than perfect wifi to the Alexa Show though. I may add a repeater to see if that improves matters.
I’m not using motion detection yet because I wanted this primarily to be able to see who is at the front door, so I cannot comment on that.
In summary, this is a great camera for the money and I may well buy more in future.

I bought the Netvue Outdoor Security Camera 1080P Waterproof Wireless WiFi Bullet Camera on the 23rd February 2020. It is a very robust camera, easy to install and very quick to set up using the app. The picture and sound are excellent, also the motion detection feature is is accurate. Altogether this is a great camera. The only problem I had was that I had to position the camera very close to the router as the camera kept dropping out even though the WiFi signal showed 57% and that this was a good signal.

I bought 3 of these with intention to add into an existing DVR system, utilising the wifi as one camera will be on a remote building and a second at the door, where I cant get cable to return to the system.

Delivery was quick, 3 items within a large box with bubble wrap to secure to contents.

I’ve trialed one camera using the intended phone app. Easy to set up with QR code in the instructions to get the app, then QR code used to connect the camera to the wifi network.
The camera is quite sturdy and robust, with easy instructions to help with installation, and set up was done in a short time.
Installation to its location was easy, and I only needed to use a small drill hole to feed the supplied power cable into an outdoor cable box where the power connection together with wifi and ethernet cable (not being used in wifi set up), and the camera was easily fitted into location, a template was provided but I didn’t use this.

I bought these camera’s while at a lower price, and at time of writing review the price has increased but I still think it a worthy buy at the new price.

I have purchased quite a few types of camera through out the years but these are the best.

Everything that you need to fit the cameras and make the power connections safe.
Very easy to install the Micro SD card.
Easy to setup within Android, Alexa, Windows PC, Just need to setup within Android TV.

Some individuals have complained about the software but everyone wants something different especially if you have used software from another camera.

Software has allot of support and help details when left tab.
Cameras can be setup individually with in Motion Detention & General settings.
    Sleep Mode, Sleep Mode Schedule.
Motion Alert is fantastic. Received through Alexa Show units, Android phones both wifi and mobile data.
    There allot more.

The zoom in is great, we can identify types of birds at the bottom of the garden and you can take snapshot through live viewing or recordings from both notifications and manual recordings.

The sound is also very good and when you want to speak all you need to do is press and hold the microphone icon.

Motion Detections has area on and off options, sensitivity and finally scheduling when you want it on and off.

Collective setup is that good we are looking to change our current internal camera’s and doorbell to Netvue.

Great surveillance camera. It blew away all of my expectations. For the price you can’t find something better.

I have the habit of leaving my shoes in front of the door and even if i live in a good neighbourhood my favourite Timberlands got stolen. After that I realised that there were some other pairs of shoes I don’t remember seeing lately so i had decided to buy this camera.

It is aluminium with a plastic coating, feels really sturdy.

    What I like:
    – microsd card means you can record and watch directly;
    – has a speaker and a microphone and the sound quality is good;
    – motion sensor works brilliantly and sends a notification on your phone instantly;
    – app works like a charm.

All in all I regret not buying more but will definitely pay attention to further deals on this camera and other netvue cameras.

After a neighbour had a break-in we decided to put in CCTV. I didn’t want the hassle of a DVR setup with wires everywhere and opted for these based on camera resolution, features and other reviews. We also bought two indoor NEOS cameras. These outdoor ones are brilliant, super clear pictures, you can zoom in on the app and it continously records to SD card and you can play back footage on the app, the NEOs ones (not sure if same company but packaging suspiciously similiar and arrived in same amazon box?) are equally good in many ways but don’t record continously. I would give 5 stars but for 2 reasons, 1 they should offer an indoor option as I would use instead of Neos and secondly the cable could be longer for power and I am not sure what we are supposed to do with the white cables? I know what they are for but they dangle once installed and are too short to do anything with, they will sit outside the property, are they weather proof we don’t know but have taped them up using duct tape and wrapped them in plastic to the eaves of the house, this feels like it could be improved without much effort. Oh and the red lights at night time are fab – I want potential burglars to see the CCTV and they would! Would definitely buy again!

I have since purchased another of these cameras as I was truly pleased with the quality and relative ease of set up.
I had an existing camera which was useless and kept dropping off the network. It also didn’t have a SD Card slot so I’m really glad I got rid of it.
In terms of set up, I would say that itwas really easy ( but I do work in IT!). Quite honestly, the app walks you through it all step by step and the written instructions were good too. Only hiccup I had was getting the SD card to mount after formatting. It just took a bit longer than I expected so I was probably just being impatient. No problems with over-sensitivity although I have turned it down and the fact that you can choose exclusion zones is really helpful. I hope it continues to work as well in the long term!

What I really liked about this Camera was the ease of the set up. I am not IT savy at all but the instructions are clear and within moments it was connected to the wifi and the motion detection working through the app I had down loaded . Usually things like this go wrong for me but this was simple . It still works too (there has been real rain here )showing very clear pictures in the day in colour and excellent clarity at night . It’s a impressive piece of kit when you see it , properly made by the looks. I bought mind to watch the wild life by patio door , particularly the foxes in the night that come for left over dog food. When your away from the house it alerts you of motion and you can view from wherever you are. My 21 year old had a fright when having a cigarette, as I could speak to him through the microphone and I was miles away ! He jumped , we did laugh. Lots of choices in settings I haven’t explored yet. Well worth the money too . We love it .

Fantastic camera it really is it’s very easy to set up once set up with the app you can then manage everything on the app the video is very clear for the daytime and just as clear for the nighttime you will not b disappointed with this it will do all you want you can view your house or whatever you r recording from anywhere so you allways keep an eye on what’s going on . It arrived the next day and never took much time to put up , I would recommend you get the male to female lead if the camera is going to b situated sum way away from a power point . Al in all a great little camera for the money.

I have decided to try it indoors before using outside. Been fun watching what my cute little kitty gets upto when I’m not in the room. With patience it took a while to connect to WiFi. Suggest you keep still as it will connect quicker. Next thing is position and angles quite easy to do as you are provided with a little key. Make sure you lock into place. I tried out the speaker it’s really good and I took a couple of screenshot day and night vision. Picture is really clear and focused. Will update once I put outside but I think it will be fine
Only issue I had was finding the correct app but I had a live chat with support and they sent me the link. Excellent service. I’m going to order another one for the back of the house.

    Perfect picture and great sound

Product was easy to install. A long length of wire from plugtop power supply to plug to fit into socket on camera trailing lead made it especially easy. The camera trailing leads were also reasonably long. Be aware if wishing to put wires through wall before connecting that a reasonably large hole (approx. 16mm) required to get the ethernet connector through – but that’s a feature of the standard connector not the fault of the camera. The ability to scroll through recorded video also seems good as one can select the ‘granularity’ of the scroll period between 1 min and 2 hrs on the App, allowing a quick view. On that note, the app seems well designed too, with no adverts either 🙂 The motion detection seems a little too ready to pick up rain blowing past the lens with the IR night vision on – but I think that would be an issue with any motion detection other than full AI (which I believe is offered if one pays for the online storage rather than local SD).
The value of the whole product cannot be faulted.

    PROS:

Easy to install and set-up. I took the wired LAN route to reduce any potential network issues that can arise with wireless devices.

Night mode works very well. Nice and clear.

Alert feature is great. I like the ability to control which camera zones can be excluded from alerts.

Camera is well made and looks like it’ll last through the seasonal weather changes. Time will tell, of course.

Instructions are well written and easy to follow.

    CONS:

My main gripe is the camera isn’t yet compatible with Google Assistant. The Netvue service does link to Google Home, but Netvue have yet to add functionality to allow voice control streaming over Google Home devices such as Chromecast – it would be great to stream a camera feed to my TV or other Google displays I own. I have many smart devices of different manufacturers linked to my Google Home and they all work brilliantly with Google’s Assistant, so not sure why Netvue have concentrated solely on Amazon’s assistant. Especially since Google have a collosal and ever-growing user-base.

Other minor gripe is the frame rate when streaming appears to be low. Despite having excellent network conditions and a good 1080p image stream, the video stream is not smooth. I couldn’t find mention in the documentation of the actual frame rate, but my guess is it’s around 20fps. Like I say, it’s only a minor gripe, as I remind myself the camera is one of the cheapest on the market.

This is an incredible piece of kit for the price.
I was very surprised at how good the quality was, the build of the camera itself the, instructions and the accessories. Having been initially a little confused by the various connections and tech speak, I was pleasantly surprised at how straightforward the process of fitting and set up turned out to be.

Included in the box are not only the camera and cables but a mounting template, screws and plugs, masonry drill and Allen key for adjustment. At first, I was confused as to what the power cable consisted of and how this would be routed to the camera. Turns out that this is the easiest part. Power is supplied by a 3m long low voltage bell wire style cable which can be easily routed through small hole or through a window. (mine simply passes through the window)
I guess that, like most people, Wi-Fi is the preferred connection method. In this case there’s no need to drill a large hole for the ethernet cable and it is only the small low voltage power cable that you will need to provide access for.

I was almost dreading the setup but it turns out again that this was surprisingly simple. Everything is done via the app which quickly takes you through the set up procedure intuitively.

The app connects itself to the camera, you simply need to follow the online instructions. From there onwards everything is done via the app which again is excellent quality and includes online help.

As you will have seen from other reviews, the video quality is excellent and certainly more than enough for a home security camera.

Setting up to view on Amazon Echo Show was again very simple and worked first time. Having the ability to view the camera on Echo Show is an added bonus.

My only real criticism would be the description on Amazon doesn’t really make it clear this can be used simply as a Wi-Fi device and doesn’t need the Ethernet cable.

Smart Home Camera with Two Way Audio & Alex Show Compatible

I bought this camera for home security but it was immediately co-opted by the boss for her lambing cam.
She is now looking at her phone every 2 hours through the night instead of stomping out in nightdress and wellies. She uses the voice call to bother the sheep and make them look around so she can see they haven’t dropped dead (favorite sheep pastime). I have now inadvertently promoted this camera to many ‘Ladies that Lamb’ who also don’t like wondering around at 4 am to check on their beloved flocks
Mine is connected by Ethernet almost 100mtr on Cat 6 and it is a shame that POE is not supported as it would have made for a tidier/easier install.
The IR is excellent and we had a clear monochrome view of the sheep pen despite it being pitch black in the barn. The audio is good enough that we could converse when she was in the barn albeit with a second or two delay. The mount is solid and even comes with an allen key to adjust which is a nice touch as it the weather proof cover for your ethernet cable (which you can only add if you make your own cables)

The camera struggles to show a colour image even during the day in the dimly lit barn but the mono image is sharp and in bright light the image is good. You can zoom into the image on te phone app but the resolution falls off pretty fast as this is only 1080.
I successfully got the image to work with Alexa on my TV firestick but a bit of a faff to launch the skill then view the camera so not of great interest to me . I was disappointed that there is no option to view on a pc or to embed on a web page, only via the app (although a web app is promised). The android app i used is pretty good however and it is all very easy to set up and use. No instructions with the camera AT ALL but good website and it appears they have good customer service but I haven’t needed it yet! I would like to try a PTZ version if they produce one.
I have now got two more of them to guard the farmyard as they are currently just under 24 which is a bargain so I will try out the motion detection and update my review. I have an SD card for it now so will try and share some images.

Great camera for the price and easy to set up following the app instructions. Only fault I have with the camera is at night when the infra red lights are used, if it rains or snows any drops falling close to the camera activates the motion alert. When viewing the alert it comes up as a long white streak across the picture. It’s because the infra red lights are next to the lens. I was going to buy a separate infra red light and mount it away from the camera to stop the false motion alerts. But I found that when you switch off the camera lights the camera cannot pick up infra red light from another source. So unless you mount the camera under an overhang which shelters the camera from rain or snow, then you are going to get a lot of false alerts. Netvue said they now have an update that differentiates human movement from animals or weather etc. This system is only available if you subscribe to their cloud recording service. Also if you find the live view you see at night is cloudy as if the lens had fog on it, it means the camera is too close to a surface which is reflecting light from the infra red lights back onto the lens. You will have to tilt or move the camera. Great camera though and I bought a second one for my drive.
WARNING – since my first review Netvue have started to promote their cloud subscription service by stopping access to SD card motion alerts, stopping you checking what caused the alert as you try to go back in time to check what was recorded. They are doing this every few months by inserting a promotional screen about their cloud service when you try to go to the screen which allows you to go back in time and view events. At the top of the screen there is an option to just go to the sd card as normal, but when you tap this, another screen pops up telling you the memory card needs formatted ( which it doesn’t). If you try to format the card which will delete all video saved on it, it then comes up that the card mount failed.
I just power down the camera and leave it 24 hours. Sometimes it clears the promotional screen and goes back to normal working – sometimes it doesn’t and I power it down again. So if your house is broken into or property damaged etc you will not be able to go back the cameras recordings to see what happened or view the burglars.
This is not acceptable to me from Netvue. If I want to subscribe to the cloud service I would, but I do not like being bullied by having my camera made incapable of checking sd card recordings because they want to promote and try to force you into taking out a subscription. What’s the point of buying these products if they are rendered useless by the company. Will they pay for any loss or damage to my property because they switched off the capability to record to my sd card ?
Customer services just keep telling people that their sd card is faulty and needs replaced – lies. After I got my camera working again by powering it down several times over 48 hrs, the card worked fine. I have two cameras which go down at the same time so this is not an sd card issue. It’s Netvue bullying you into taking out a monthly subscription. I will not be buying any more of their products and I am looking to other camera manufacturers to replace my Netvue cameras. Shocking way to treat customers. You have been warned.

For the price this is a superb camera. The primary use for it is to go innthe garage. Granted, I currently have nothing to protect only bins and a ton of chippings but maybe one day it will protect something of value lol

We have power in the garage so I used Ethernet mini connectors and hooked it up directly to the home hub. I was unsure if this would work but it connected within seconds of scanning the QR Code. Apparently if the power in the garage works off the same circuit board this will work.

I will purchase a cheap SD card and install it this weekend. I’m led to believe if you have an SD card in it will loop video which is fine for me as I already pay a subscription for RING. Delivery was fast from Amazon. Had it a few weeks now but only now installed. For the price, well worth purchasing.

I have attached a picture of the garage on night vision for you to see the quality. Apologies for the mess in there LOL

EDIT :- It’s been a few months now since I bought the first camera, I was so impressed with the quality that I bought a second camera for outside the garage, using the WiFi. It does lag a bit but is capturing all the images it should, when it’s windy the microphone can get noisy but for 29.99 with a voucher on offer on amazon these are a bargain. If you need a cheap option just for piece of mind that works with Alexa, on your phone and has a memory card slot. These are the cameras for you. Will deffo purchase more from Netvue in the future.

Good quality, so good I bought a second one!

Bought 2 of these to provide video coverage of the back of my house. I was really impressed with the setup, to pair each camera took about 10 mins in all. The mounting and adjusting to a while longer but that was more to do with running a power supply outside. What i did find good that the camera came with all screws, wall plugs, a masonry drill bit and a hex key to adjust the direction of the camera. Adjusting was easy so as to get the perfect angle and rotation. What has impressed me the most though is the picture quality., it is really clear, with good audio and even when a long way from my broadband router the wifi connection is always there. The Alexa connection is super simple to set up so i can now see footage on my Echo show via voice command. One area of improvement needs to be on the motion detection, it was way too sensitive and i keep getting mobile phone alerts when there is no real movement. But overall I have to say a great purchase, and highly recommended.

Literally set my two cameras up today.
They are inside looking out the window until I can get them fixed to the wall outside.

    Picture is great!
Night vision looks good only right now I am having glare issues due to them being inside looking out through the window.

Motion detector is picking up on everything!

Had a few difficulties when setting up the first camera but the customer support on the live chat were very good and got me sorted within minutes.

Hoping this camera continues to live up to its very good first impressions.

After researching I went for this Netvue CCTV Wifi Camera. Quite impressed – Easy to up-set to connect to Wifi using the IOS App and the barcode on the Camera. Pictures are good and the motion detection works well. Good Night Vision over our driveway.

Following the success of setting this one up, I immediately purchased a 2nd Camera for the rear of our property both now working good. Still working my way around all the various settings possible including Motion Detection Sensitivity, and Motion areas … all seem easy & simple. The Camera, also, unbelievably comes with Allen Key, Mounting Template, Mounting Screws, Masonry Drill, and Rawlplugs… everything one needs – very unusual and makes life much simpler to use ‘from box’ – thanks Netvue – will purchase an internal Camera soo

Super thrilled with this camera. Purchased two of them, one for the front door and one in the back garden. It was super easy to set up and install. As I am often away because of work I thought this would come in very handy. Specially in the back garden where the motion detector reacts immediately and pops up on my phone.
The night vision is also really clear as I don’t have the light on in the back garden but can still see clear.
Makes me feel more relaxed knowing the house is save when I am away for business.
Also what I think is great is that you can talk over the camera. Saw the postman delivering a package as the motion alerted me, was able to tell him to please drop it off at the neighbours.
Can definitely recommend this and looking at purchasing one for inside the house.
    Great investment.

Great camera for the price. Difficult to setup as it only works with 2.4ghz wifi. This means if you have s 5.0ghz WiFi you will need to change the setting on your router. The motion detection is poor and you will not receive alerts as stated in description. The cloud subscription is too expensive, so you best buy an SD card. Make sure you insert the SD card before installing the camera. I also recommend setting up the app before installing the camera on the wall as the app reauires scanning the barcode which is located underneath the actual unit. Otherwise the picture quality is fantastic and the night vision works really well.

This camera is great value. The app works just fine and does what it needs to and there is the ability to add other users. I’ve only put it down at 4 stars as I connection with Alexa to stream the video on my Show 5 was difficult (but working fine now) and the initial connection setup with the app was a bit iffy (had to repeat it a few times). However, for the money, I cannot really complain and picture quality is great. I’ve added a 128gb SD card so I don’t have to sign up to the cloud service. Video downloads are easy.

My own personal opinion is that these are relatively easy to set up and install, and easy to use via the app. A great camera for the price, and so far, hasn’t let me down, so I am very pleased with it.
Picture quality is pretty good, and excellent night vision, which for me is very important. I searched a LONG time for a camera that offered these features for the right price. Happy customer! 🙂

Up until now i’ve only used hardwired CCTV cameras with a DVR . This is my first Wifi camera, bought specifically to be able to shout “Alexa, show me the front door” to my Echo Show.
Very easy to set up, everything woked fine. Had to scan the camera QR code in order to connect, but other than that it all worked seamlessly.

Picture quality is great, both day and night.
App is simple to use. I installed a 128gb micro SD card to record rather than use the cloud service which you have to pay for.
Sound and 2 way talk works fine, although the volume on the camera is quite low (perhaps I just haven’t adjusted it) I’d like to be able to scare the postman.
Only negative I’ve got is the delay on connecting to the Echo show and then, when connected, the lag. The app is almost instant. I’m using Wifi, but may try hardwiring with an ethernet cable to see if that improves it. Also haven’t worked out how to get sound / 2 way talk on the Echo show. Probably something I’m doing wrong.

Overall would recommend. Great little camera for the price. Might buy another for the back door as well.

Purchased this camera as a replacement for a duff YCAM which cost over 3 times as much some years ago!
First impressions after playing with it for a day….
Setting up the WiFi connection was straightforward, and the NetVue app discovered the device without a problem. All of the features on the camera worked flawlessly including night vision, motion detection and SD card recording. I also hooked it up to ALEXA successfully, but don’t have a device to show the video on (Yet!)
The camera came with a set of screws and rawlplugs, plus an allen key to allow mounting and adjustment, as well as a cover for a prepared ethernet cable if used externally (I’m not, if used inside I assume I can just connect a normal ethernet cable).
The SD card was easy to install, but needs to be formatted while in the camera after installing. Netvue do not give any info on the format, but I guess it will be FAT32 or NTFS. However there is no way to stop recording except by pulling out the power plug, which seems a bit brutal, the app should provide for this to prevent file corruption (I did try disconnecting power, the SD card seemed OK and successfully re-mounted on restoring power.
All in all a very nice device at a low cost which so far has worked flawlessly and does what it says on the tin!

This is a really good camera. Bought one, then bought a second one.
Very good build- mostly metal casing. Fully adjustable for any angle/position (and image can be turned upside down too).
On screen set up instructions are very good- they take account of all the pitfalls when setting up- such as making sure you are logging on to a 2.4GHz wireless not a 5. Needed to be a little patient with the connection binding. Had to go through the process twice but it didn’t take long. Once the cameras linked to the wireless they stuck with it.
As per other reviews, you’ll need a 128gb card to cover two weeks away. The live playback on the phone app is very detailed. And the recorded footage playback is very quick and easy to use.
Probably best to format your card on a computer first. The camera will recognise it straight away.
While I’m writing this, the camera at the back of the house has switched to night vision and it’s good. You can also pan and zoom within the live picture. It’s covering a garden of approx 35m length very well.
Like other reviewers, I bought a waterproof junction box for the wire ends (the Ethernet socket, reset button and power socket are at the end of wires which run about 30cm out of the camera itself so they need tying up). You’ll need to set it up near to a three pin plug source- the wire from the plug to the camera is about 3m.
This is a great buy. Solid and very functional.

The camera was delivered quickly and I found the instructions easy to follow. I used a wired connection and downloaded the app from Google Play Store (scanning the QR code in the instructions did not work for some reason) and it found the camera straight away. The picture quality is excellent both in day and night and motion detection works really well. In fact too well and I had to shorten the detection area. Response time was fair and possibly slightly faster than the ring doorbell which I have on wifi. The sound quality is good but it is easy to get feedback and you have to turn the volume down on the phone in order to correct this. My Camera is mounted quite high up and so talking to visitors is not that practical but my prime aim for buying the camera was to use for cctv. The fixing kit consists of a drill bit, rawl plugs and an allen key for tightening the camera positioning/angle. The camera does come with an SD slot but I have not used this yet but am just using the cloud storage free trial. Overall impressed with the product and happy with purchase.

The product was easy to set up and install. The step by step instructions were really simple and easy to follow. Once you set it up, decide on where you want to mount it. It’s helpful if there are two of you – one to position the camera and the other person to check if the image or angle is where you want it. The three shorter cables coming out of the back are a bit of an eyesore, but if you pop them in aa waterproof cover, it doesn’t look too bad. Both day and night images are really clear and the sound perfect. The motion detection is good – be careful you don’t mount the camera too close to plants that may set off the detection in the wind! However, you can get around this by deselecting certain areas in the motion detection zone.
A really great product that suits our needs perfectly – will definitely be buying another one!

I would recommend this camera to anyone wanting security indoors or out. The picture is so clear and it picks up any movement and alerts you straight away. If also has the speaker so if you have a delivery or if it’s late at night you can talk to them through this, its very reasonably priced and easy to install. I pay 1.55 per month for recordings and I think I that’s brilliant compared to the ones I was looking at purchasing. Quick delivery and like I said the booklet tells you exactly how to install so it’s very straightforward. I actually purchased 2 as i wanted one at the back of my house too. There is also a zoom in on it so you can get a closer look if need be. I can’t fault it in anyway and my brother has purchased the same one too!

After having this up a week I thought I’d give it a review.

For the camera to work reliably it needs a strong WiFi connection or wired (obviously). Before buying a powerline WiFi repeater, which I placed directly behind the wall, I was getting around 60% reception. Now I’m getting 97% and it’s working flawlessly. That means no lag starting the video when opening the app and no drop in connection.

Motion is so so. I’ve just woken up and have 19 notifications because of the rain. The software is supposed to ignore the ‘useless’ motion but clearly it needs some work.

The cloud motion video is pointless and a waste of money. Don’t opt for it. It has a good fallback whereby you can just store a still image. Underneath the image is a button to your 24/7 continuous video history.

I didn’t realise the camera recorded continuously so finding that out was a pleasant surprise. It means with a 128gb SD Card this is a very good camera without the need for cloud storage.

Fitting: I just rang the power cable through the wall. The cable arrangement isn’t the best. There are three wires all junctioned off of one another. The Enternet cable has a clumpy weatherproof shroud making it very difficult to put through a brick wall. The rawl plugs that come with it are garbage.

Night vision and picture quality are great.

Support: There is a Live Chat option which is great. There’s also a user forum too.

I would recommend this camera but just make sure it has a reliable connection.

Great camera, especially for the money. Despite what anyone says, it will not necessarily be easy to fit. I’ve seen quite a few of ‘installed in 5 minutes!’ comments and videos. Honestly, it took me a good hour to fit each one and I needed a drill, some other tools and cable clips to make it all tidy. I managed to avoid drilling through the walls of the house as we had power in our garden outhouse and garage, which luckily were well placed to cover our house well.
Quite how easy it is to fit will entirely depend on where you put it, so make sure to plan it well. Also make sure you fully set up the cameras and get them working before you install them.

Anyway, assuming once you’ve set it up and got it in place it is a decent camera, with decent wifi reception. The phone app is good, the camera picture looks very clear, especially in the day. Night vision is also very good, although slightly lower quality, as you’d expect.

Great that it’s got a MicroSD slot for recording without using the add-on cloud recording service, although you do risk someone stealing the camera with the card in it and losing your evidence, so make sure to fit it well and out of easy reach.

Overall very happy with the purchase. I’ve got theee of them now!

Excellent camera that’s perfect for the price and does the job amazingly.

The box comes with everything required to set yourself up with an adequate day/night vision security system that you can rely on to get the job done.
The app, is easy and intuitive and literally took me less than five minutes to get up and running.
Depending where you install the camera you may need to purchase a power extension lead…. I bought the one down in the comments section but didn’t need it in the end as what came in the box was long enough.

The camera is excellent design that will no doubt weather the elements and the instructions were easy to follow… Even for someone like me who is terrible at DIY.

Very pleased with the camera and will buy another one for the rear of my property as the app used can have multiple cameras operational.
