We have started using the bread maker and we are very impressed. We can set it to work during the night when we are on cheaper electric, so saving money, and we wake up to the gorgeous smell of fresh bread. A brilliant machine!
I am disabled and have food delivered, I researched and got a Panasonic, am really impressed, although there are a ton of programs I do not understand yet and very likely never use.
I bought this as a replacement and it has not disappointed. This only negative for me is that the instructions are not very clear; crust and loaf sizes. I am sure with more use I will get better.
bought this after a previous machine (different make) was faulty and changed to this Panasonic after much research – love it, the bread pan is well made and sturdy. so far have made bread every day, made Jam and baked a cake, its versatile and well made, love it. like the bread mix program, and like the machine overall
This is so easy to use and have always had great results. Definitely worth buying the one with the seed/nut dispenser. We don’t buy bread anymore and I have adapted the recipes to reduce the salt by at least half every time and no one has noticed. The timer is great if you want to have fresh bread in a morning. Great for making pizza dough too.
I’ve only had it a short while. I had moderate success with bread mixes, but the first attempt at normal white bread produced the best tasting bread I’ve had in a long time. I used Allinson’s bread flour and I’ll stick to that now. Lots more experiments to come but I’m quite impressed.
I have already made over a dozen loaves of the bread, from ciabatta to seed loaf. Each time, the bread / dough came out of perfectly! One tiny criticism is that the mixing “blade” leaves a small hole in each loaf. Apart from this, I would recommend this product to any one who appreciates fresh bread!
There wasn’t any instructions as to how to take the bed pan out. After maneuvering about I finally got it out. It is easy to do and the bed does comes out lovely, lovely texture. I am quite happy with it.
Hadn’t quite appreciated the footprint this needs on the kitchen worktop. Oops. Very large machine. Using it twice a week and the loaves are always excellent. Wouldn’t likely use it for cake making or jam making – but for the range of loaves it is great and the quality of the bread is superb.
I bought this bread maker a month ago after seeing its recommendarion by WHICH magazine. Have used a handful of times now and really happy with how easy it is to operate. The nut/seed dispenser works well (it was a bit temperamental on my last machine) and the delay function is very easy to set. Would defo recommend this machine.
Great machine and now using nearly everyday. Only downside is the rather small display on the top of the machine may be difficult to see when placed on a kitchen worktop unless you are quite tall
After buying a second hand ‘other’ make on a well known auction site, that died on arrival, we went for a trustworthy make.
This is very quiet, easy to program (simple buttons to press) and it makes excellent bread, first loaf lasted less than a day, I’d say costs are pretty good about 70p Inc energy for a big load.
Panasonic are well known and this is well made and fits the worktop well
I love it. I love the different settings and options. My kids never liked bread before, now they request for bread to be made. Purchasing this was the best decision i ever made.
I made my first loaf yesterday. I used the Basic Rapid recipe using 400 g Waitrose Seeded Wholemeal Bread Flour with yeast 1 teaspoon, butter 15g, sugar 1 TEASPOON and salt 1/2 teaspoon. These are quantities in the recipe with my old Panasonic SD-2501 which I had for many years until it stopped working a few days ago. The bread is great. The crust is better than with my SD-2501. I have given it four stars because it has to be widthways on my worktop, taking up twice as much space as the SD-2501.
Replacement from previous Panasonic beadmaker which we had worn out . No trouble changing to the new system . Very satisfied all round
Bought this make as a friend already had one. After using a bought bread mix which was a disaster, i have had no problems using raw ingredients. No shop bought bread ever agai
I bought this because I felt it would be good to cut down on my gluten, not because I am coeliac. I used a variation of a recipe on Dove’s gluten free flour and found it makes a quick gluten free loaf (no proving time). There is an option for a darker crust, which is great. Once the loaf is cooled, I slice and freeze, so I can use it for lunch snacks like egg on toast. The recipe booklet included is very basic but gives information needed. I found with research that the liquid should go in first for GF bread and do that, which is opposite to the booklet’s advice but it works.
My first loaf looks and tastes exactly as it should. I have had three cheaper bread makers over many years and the only decent ones have been the Panasonic models. I only changed because my previous Panasonic’s pan and paddle has lost their non stick coating – after 15 or more years.
My first loaf with my updated machine is lovely. Great machine, early days but….can’t see why it won’t do another 15+ years…less than 10 a month. Good value.
I made the French loaf and the seeded loaf, so pleased, they are perfect and have made them a couple of times, will be making them all the time now, no idea how this machine can make bread this perfect, it just does, i di use the exact ingredients as shown, to the gram etc as guerssing probably could ruin the loaf, very pleased and certainly well worth buying.
I am using the bread maker few times a week, children love the bread.
Overall I am happy with the product.
The disappointment was that if I choose setting 2, rapid , the bread is not baked properly, especially the top part. Option 2 was the main reason for which I have opted to by this specific bread maker .
This bread maker is really useful, love amount of program to choose from.
Its plenty anough of options and really wouldnt pay another 100 only to get 2 more programs since u can get great baking with what it offer.
I made bread, cakes and keto bread to perfections
What a great machine! I never thought that we’d be able to have fresh bread baked at home but this machine makes it not only possible but simple to achieve.
We’ve had it about a month now and we’ve made simple white bread and wholemeal loaves as well as sourdough (using a bought mix) and multi grain bread. And it really couldn’t be simpler. Our first effort was a nervy affair but it turned out great and it’s been plain sailing ever since.
I’ve marked it down a star because of the instruction/recipe booklet. The instruction are clear enough but the recipes are rather limited and we ended up buying a bread making book to help us expand our range.
So glad we bought it.
I’ve only used this breadmaker for a few months, and so far it has been excellent. I’ve made wholewheat bread and wholewheat/white bread. They taste SO GOOD, I haven’t even tried any of the other recipes that are in the manual.
Excellent break maker, it’s quiet enough, very sturdy and selection of programs is more than enough. It’s not smallest one, but it does impressive job. If recipes from attached booklet are followed, result will be perfect every time regardless of what you are making in it. I was a bit concerned about not having a window on top but there is literally zero need for it, trust me.
If nothing else, lack of window makes a bread making experience even more interesting!
Only bad thing about whole purchase is the manual, it’s 15 pages long and that’s with recipes included, paper quality is not good and print will be worn out with time but this detail should not be a deal breaker as same maual can be found online anyway.
If you see one on sale, do NOT hesitate to buy it, you won’t be disappointed.
I’ve never been able to make a 100% wholemeal loaf with a breadmaker or by hand – I always had to use 50% wholemeal and 50% strong white. However, this Panasonic breadmaker produces practically perfect loaves whatever flour is used.
The photos show a 100% wholemeal loaf made overnight. Total time in the breadmaker was 9 hours, 4 hours delay and 5 hours for the bread program. I used the Wholemeal recipe provided in the manual but I did modify the instructions since there was no mention of anything to account for the delay. The instructions tell you to add the yeast first, but this would mean that it would be in the water from the start and potentially start fermenting before the start of the bread program. So I proceeded as follows:
Put the butter, water, salt and sugar into the breadpan. Add the flour and make a small well in the top of it. Put the yeast into the well to keep it out of the water. Put the pan into the breadmaker and set the delay time (total time before you want the bread to be ready).
The more expensive versions of this breadmaker have a separate yeast compartment that obviates the need for the above procedure, but it’s a lot extra for a very minor advantage.
The programs are much longer than those of my previous machine (Goodmans) but the wait is well worth it!
You do have to read the manual quite thoroughly to understand how to operate the machine – for example, the white bread programs have crust options but the wholemeal recipes don’t – the crust option button does nothing on wholemeal settings and initially makes you think that something has gone wrong.
Overall this is a first class breadmaker.
bought this as panasonic very good. but first attempt was a disaster and was very close to sending back.
instruction manual very poor. i had all ingredients in but couldnt work out how to set up.
At last managed to do it and was a success. Has some one else has said item on work surface and cant read screen think this a very poor desig
Have used almost daily for the past fortnight, it produces excellent results every time. My only gripe is trying to set the controls. I’m 5’4″ and it’s impossible to see the control panel when the bread maker is on my kitchen worktop. If my husband, daughter or son are about (all over 5’10”) they will set the program, if not I have to stand on a stool to be able to read and set the controls. This model replaced my 15 year old machine and I never had this issue then.
I had access to a Panasonic 10 years ago which I loved. Then I moved and bought cheaper versions which for me never reached the same quality. I am very pleased to have returned to the only make that I have ever found to work properly. My new SD-B2510 arrived without a user manual, but there are lots of recipes on line and the format is quite user-friendly. I’ve had it 2 weeks and I already love it, and the wonderful smells it generates.
I’ve been without a bread maker for 10 years, before that I always bought Panasonic. This bread maker is very good for the price. Bread recipients work well and the loaf has a reasonable eating life. I’ve had Panasonic before so found the instructions easy. However it is difficult to see the screen when choosing size and crust colour, this could be helped by making the options bolder. I shine a light on them. You need to move the bread maker close to you to operate the choices. A drawback of being a flat top.
I would recommend the machine..it makes excellent bread.
Highly recommended
I purchased the black, I found a spot on a shelving system in my kitchen as it does take up a lot of space, did not want it on any worktops. It is expensive but it a very good quality product. I used it for the wrights’ bread mix, it was 5, months out of date and the bread still came out excellent and tasted okay, as it was the first time, I had used both. Purchasing bread mix is a quick alternative, as to having flour skimmed milk and yeast, I never add any fats to recipes even if it is on there.
I do not like having soya in the bread that is shop bought, and difficult to find bread without i
I have this bread maker for more than 5 years and I use it all the time. It’s so great for making bread and dough (pizza yum yum)
I’m a dyed in the wool Panasonic fan and this new machine doesn’t disappoint. Didn’t quite get my recipe correct with my first loaf but the second one was a triumph. Light, well risen and not too dense. Nut dispenser works well and the whole thing is very easy but you have to stick to the order as written when adding the ingredients. The pan and the paddle are coated so nothing sticks badly. The size of the machine is bigger and a bit bulky and there are programmes I’ll never use but I wanted the nut dispenser so had to purchase this model. It’s a good buy overall.
Have had a Panasonic bread maker before so went for one again. The display panel is on the top of the maker and also towards the back. Very difficult to see unless you are tall. Such a shame as the bread maker is good in all other respects.
Great bread maker, easy to use. If you are not going to add seeds/nuts or fruit then get the model without the seed dispenser.
Panasonic breadmakers make great bread. We’ve been using them for 20 years and always happy with the results.
This is the second Panasonic bread maker we have purchased, it makes delicious bread and we would highly recommend it to everyone.
Best bread maker I’ve had, does everything it says and makes perfect bread.
Only down side is setting panel not light and hard to see settings I use small torch to check its righ
Does as expected, but I will need to make A LOT of bread to make it pay for itself. Currently working through the various recipes supplied in the manual and some are better than others.
Our first Panasonic breadmaker lasted at least ten years without problems although it is worth pointing out that we never use these machines for anything other than making dough and then on average every three days for the past fifteen years. The second one stopped mixing after just under two years but we bought another Panasonic because of the dough programs, the simplicity of operation and they used to be inexpensive!! This third one lasted ten months and Amazon were brilliant in organising a payout under the twelve month warranty.
We decided to stay with Panasonic despite these recent failings and the much higher prices of white goods because when the machines work, they are the excellent.
Two batches already (one of wholemeal and one of white) and it has done all that I required without fuss.
Criticisms include the smaller display on this machine (2510) compared with our last two (both 2500), the less useful orientation of the machine that has the same footprint but is side-on rather than end-on meaning it takes up a greater length on the counter. It is definitely noisier and the bucket seems awkward to fit into its holder. None of this is a big deal but reduces my ratings accordingly.
I hope – I really do hope – that this one lasts a good few years because it was not cheap and the bread consumption in our small household has been homemade only for fifteen years and I don’t want that to change!
This bread maker is so easy to use, it takes less than 5 mins to put the ingredients together, set the program and leave it to do it’s thing.
It really is delicious bread.
Highly recommended!
Took a couple of times to get used to it but it is easy to use
Bought this as a replacement for our old Panasonic bread maker
Would not buy any other brand as it always gives great results
Timer facility is excelle
The title says it all. This is a simple to use bread maker that makes very tasty bread. Comes with a range of programmes and simple to follow recipe instructions. Even I can follow them and very good results. Good value for money too.
So easy to use. Great variation on programmes and produces excellent bread.
Fantastic buy and great value for money.

Every bake has been successful. I purchased to replace a cheaper machine purchased about 3 months ago, the difference is amazing.
Perfect for all your bread making needs. Takes time to learn how to use but once i got a few loaves under my belt i was creating tasty GF bread. Tip – liquid FIRST, then dry powder.
I have had 4 bread makers and it seems you really do get what you pay for. This is as least w-3 times more than I have paid for a machine before, but the results are 10 times better. The basic white loaf alone is light and fluffy, compared to the s9 much denser loaves I have had in the past. You also get a fruit/nut dispenser which I have never had before. Highly recommended
Fantastic ! Easy peasy to use . Tastes yummy . Even using a bread mix from Tesco ( 85p ) it is excellent ! Just put ingredients in , press required buttons and leave , then eat !

Bought as a replacement for our 20 year Old Panasonic bread maker after it finally died – wider and has more features and is making excellent bread and dough. Excellent product v satisfied
Love this it’s my second bread maker great waking up to the smell of the bread baking and the bread stays fresher for longer than shop bought ones easy to use clear instructions highly recommend
Superb bread, once I figured out how the instructions were set out. Now I have, it’s easy to use and makes absolutely terrific bread. Absolutely made up with it TIP: don’t measure the volume of your water as it’s too fiddly. Weigh it along with the rest of your ingredients. 1mL of water=1g of weight so if a small loaf needs 280mL, just weigh out 280g. Much easier and much more accurate.
I love this bread maker, so easy to use. Bread tastes gorgeous and rises beautifully. Recommend this machine.

Bought for my husband, I chose this one as it can make up to a 3lb loaf in the tin provided, obviously can make a larger loaf such as one you would buy in supermarket, if you prepare dough in machine and then put in the oven, you literally put ingredients into it turn on and it does everything, takes a few hours from start to finish, can also set timer so bread can be ready for the morning, and every loaf we have had, has been very nice, obviously once you have the recipe you want. Great machine, value for money
