It’s well worth the extra cost. This is my second Panasonic bread maker and I have yet to have a failed loaf.

Used an older version for almost 16 years until the heating element gave up.
So far incredibly pleased with this replacement.
Extremely easy instructions to follow, and that is the main thing with these bread makers, you must follow the instructions precisely or it will not work well at all.
Looking forward to many years of freshly made bread again.

Replaced a really old bread machine with this one. Noted first off, unlike the previous machine from Panasonic very little documentation – but if you’re a millennial it does have a sheet with a QR Code to an Instagram page. Not tried the nut dispenser function, but also a notable lack of ‘water well’ that the previous version had. That said much quieter when mixing than the old model.

This is an excellent, quality machine that makes lovely bread. Have tried most recipes, white basic, quick white, brioche, raisin and wholewheat rapid. Tried the French bread recipe (6hrs) but found that the same recipe using rapid white (2hrs) came out just as well. All came out really well but for me the tastiest is the rapid wholewheat using granary flour. Thanks Panasonic.

Sadly our previous Panasonic bread maker only lasted just over 13 years.
I read one comment from a reviewer that said they needed a new toaster as the slices came out very large. We invested in an oven with a grill so that we can toast the new large slices. Don’t let that put you off. The machine is brilliant.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is my second Panasonic. My previous one had given me good service for over twelve years, but was beginning to give rather less than perfect results, so I decided it was time to replace it. I chose this model because it seemed like a good middle of the range option, with the ability to be flexible with the timings if required. I have given it five stars because it does exactly what it says on the tin. Produces beautifully baked bread with an evenly risen crust (no lopsided loaves), and tasting wonderful. However, I do have one or two minor quibbles, but they are not enough to really influence my score. Firstly, the machine is taller than I expected, and as I am quite short, I either have to stand on tiptoes or use a folding step to actually allow me to read the tiny display which is sited on the top of the machine, rather than to the front. Secondly, it would be nice to have an obvious reminder that the bread is cooked if you don’t hear the beep at the end. My old one had an easily seen light which flashed on and off and reminded you to remove the bread if you forgot. This one has a tiny little flashing icon set into the display which you can’t readily see. I didn’t actually find the instruction manual confusing as some people have, but do wish there were more recipes. I was quite disappointed not to find a program for my favourite soft sandwich bread which I frequently baked in my old machine, but then found that the method they give you for Milk Bread is quite a good substitute. These are minor niggles which won’t bother everyone, and the machine bakes such gorgeous bread that I can forgive them.

Very well made. I am told that functionality and features are very good. But four loafs made and results not perfect. Practice is required and based on this experience, ensure that all ingredients are within date and that weighing scales are accurate, repeatable and ingredient measures are followed exactly. Reserved recommendations at the moment – only due to the baker skill and not I feel the machine.

Wife moaned and moaned for a bread maker because she is the laziest person in the world. Since the purchase this bread machine is used twice a week. i would advise NOT to use the recipe book because the recipes are more miss than hit.

The machine is extremely large so you will need a place to store it when not in use. The mixing and timer is spot on. Once the bread is ready it will beep. Removing the bread is extremely simple, oven gloves on remove the container. the bread will slide out of the container (we have made over 40 of them and the bread EVERY TIME slides out).

Cleaning it is extremely easy, all I do is use a piece of kitchen towel and just wipe the inside. The container is so clean its unreal apart from a few crumbs. if you plan to not use it frequently you can always use a sponge some washing up liquid and clean, very easy and there are no parts making it hard to clean.

We purchased the one with the nut dispenser and it works a treat, as well as adding fruit to the mix.

Apart from the size this machine is a+, i would ONLY advise in purchasing this if you plan to use it on a regular basis. if you dont it will be yet another appliance that sits gathering dust. The idea behind this was to stop the wife moaning and to produce our own bread without all the added extras you find with supermarket bread.

Repalced an earlier Panasonic bread maker that lasted over 10 years. While, like all Panasonic breadmakers, it has a long rest period at the start, the bread that’s made is brilliant. The long delay timer allows you to set it up in the evening ready for fresh bread in the morning. The nut/seed/rasin dispenser is handy to add things without having to be at the machine. One of the more expensive bread makers but if it keeps producing good loafs it will quickly pay for itself.

Seems well made, sofar it works ok but as a first time user the instructions are not the easiest to understand, but I managed and it made bread, I think I did right going for a more expensive bread maker time will tell if it lasts. I am single and not a huge bread eater so I wanted something that would make small loaves, the 500g one is ideal for fresh bread Saturday and toast Sunday. Finger crossed it lasts for longer than the guarantee.

I recently bought this model as a replacement for my old Panasonic breadmaker. This one is considerably wider than the old model but the overriding bad point about this model is the tiny screen where you input size of loaf, colour etc. Your choices are made by identifying the minute symbols on this tiny screen – and the screen itself is so badly illuminated that it is virtually unreadable. I use a torch to read it! The breadmaker itself functions well, as one would expect from Panasonic, but why put such a tiny screen on a machine that is considerably bigger than previous models??

What a brilliant machine! I’m so glad I chose this machine, it’s so easy to use. Just measure out the ingredients, add them to the bread pan, set the programme and you have wonderful fresh bread. I tend to make mine in the evening and set the timer so the bread is ready to get out of the machine in the morning. It also has a dough programme so the machine does all the kneading and rising then you take out the dough and shape it how you want (cottage loaf, rolls, etc) leave it to rise again and then bake in the oven. There is a wide variety of recipes to choose from in the instruction book so you could spend a very long time experimenting with those and there are plenty of books to find extra inspiration. I haven’t tried any of the cake or jam recipes yet but I might get round to them eventually!

    Perfect loaves every time!

When I was buying this, I deliberately searched for a bread machine without a viewing window or a nut dispenser. My previous machine had these features but never really browned the bread on top, so the results were always a bit unsatisfactory. This Panasonic machine however dispenses with these unnecessary gimmicks in favour of a solid top that does not let out all the heat. Therefore, the bread is evenly browned all over, like it would be in a normal oven.

Just love having fresh bread. Tried making my own without a bread maker and was never very successful. So far with this bread maker success every time. Overall very easy to use. Timer means can have fresh bread for when you get up. One thing I would say is that you have to take out the bread as soon as timer beeps. I’ve left it a few minutes but timer keeps going off until programme stopped or machine is unplugged. A little annoying but not enough for me to be dissatisfied.

Wow a retail price of 179.00 for a bread maker – you could buy 179 loafs of bread for that price, was a little bit confused on the retail price comparing to other bread makers ! !

I have never owed a bread maker before so can’t really compare it to any thing which is a little bit annoying as I’m not sure the retail price is actually a good price or not?

I tend not to eat to much bread due to IBS but having children in the house who likes eating beans on toast, I thought this would come in handy.

The first issue I had was trying to find somewhere for it to live as it’s quite big and heavy- to be fair it’s not going to get used a lot and can see it being put at the back of the cupboard and forgotten about.

There are many programmes that can be used (to many in my mind), has a delayed cook which is pretty good for hot bread for breakfast if you wanted to cook over night, the machine is very quiet while in use, easy to clean and I must admit makes the house smell lovely when you are cooking fresh bread.

I found that the bread came out really easy from the tin but you need to following cooking instructions and make sure you have all the ingredients in.

I think I would just prefer to pop to the local bakery and pick up a loaf as this will save time, mess and money.

If you want to add a few minutes or subtract a few or make your own program then why not? It takes 45 mins to make dough or 2 hours to make white dough? And 4 hours to cook it?

Truthfully – I have had a Panasonic bread maker before and found it extremely good, but eventually after many many many good years parted with it. Then I went back to baking my own bread for about 12 years which I do very well with all my loaves. But the time again arrived when I wanted to return to the good old bread maker and new that Panasonic was once again up in the top machine category. So decided on this machine, after about four weeks I can say that this is a truly very good machine and consistently turns out a lovely loaf of bread with very little effort on my part. My son who has been a top chef in his time and didn’t experience my first bread maker, has been very impressed indeed. Ok, the news is all good and I would most certainly be buying this machine again. I do however, have one grumble and others have mentioned this as well, the LCD screen which does work perfectly can be, in certain lights, hard to see. For instance my machine is in our utility room in a corner and is shielded from natural light, so I literally a keep a torch handy for those few seconds while I press the buttons – would I change this machine because of it, ABSOLUTELY NOT! Enjoy it, it’s amazing. This is a totally independent review HONESTLY!

I bought this to replace my 10 yr old Panasonic bread maker which had started to produce inferior loaves. The new version of my old model was rather expensive so I went for this one. My old one had a yeast dispenser, but this one hasn’t. You put the dried yeast in the pan.before adding any other ingredients, keeping the granules away from the kneading blade. It was a bit awkward trying to spread them evenly so with the second loaf I made, I put a fine layer of the flour in first and sprinkled the granules evenly before adding the rest of the flour and the other ingredients. No difference in the quality of the finished loaf, it was just as good as the first one. I have not tried any of the other breads, cakes or dough yet, but I have no doubt they will all turn out fine. I have to say I bought mine at John Lewis for a massive 50 pounds cheaper, at 129. They also give 2 years guarantee as standard instead of one. No extra charge.
