Improve the tread surface for wet conditions.
This folding ramp has proved effective for our 30Kg Dog gaining access in & out of our car rear. However..I had to glue pieces of industrial carpet on the tread areas as his damp feet slipped, it’s now very effective.

Really sturdy. Had tried a recommended telescopic ramp but it was heavy and hopeless to manage. This is simple and effective. My dogs are 80lbs each and this does the job.

Simple to use, robust and secure.
It is perhaps a bit heavy and our dog slips a bit on the surface, so I am going to stick on carpet tiles.

I got this for my 40kg bulldog as he has arthritis in his shoulder and it’s absolutely brilliant. He took to using it straight away after a couple of mins practice in the garden. Yes it’s bulky but it does the job perfectly

    Easy to use.
I bought this for my 10 year old German Shepherd who suffered a Cruciate Ligament injury. He could no longer jump into our Fiat Doblo. The ramp is quite light and easy to get into place. It seems quite sturdy but I think if a large dog ran rather than walked up the ramp it may be quite bouncy. Our dog did not like the feel of the non slip surface. We resolved this by laying some fabric over it and he walks up now quite happily. The ramp definitely meets our requirements.

our dog has arthritis and cannot jump into the car. She learned very quickly to use the ramp. Being a lab it needs to be sturdy and long enough to create a gentle gradie

Special aid for an elderly hound
For our elderly basset hound, getting into the car was becoming difficult. I was concerned that a ramp would not be sturdy enough but this is very strong, nicely finished with paw friendly anti slip surface, and she loves it. It takes her 36 Kilo frame with virtually no deflection and is extremely secure.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersReally good ramp for the price
I have an old, 35 kg dog who is now unable to get in and out of my boot. I looked at more expensive ramps than this, but I wasn’t at all sure that he would use ANY ramp and in addition they were all much heavier than this one And I would not be able to lift them, let alone manipulate them. I was surprised at how sturdy this ramp was for the price. I can’t say that my dog likes it, exactly, and we’ve had a couple of times when he has an “misstepped”, but first I trained him on the flat, then on the front doorstep to my house and now he is much better with it. I recommend holding your dogs collar and steadying him with a hand on his backside! It has saved my life though, as my dog can’t be left.

It took a few days to get the dog used to this, but when he’s really tired this is really helpful in getting him out.
Good for preventing any impact from him jumping down.
He’s 55kg and the ramp is fine with this weight.

    It's lightweight but sturdy
Only had this a few weeks. After getting our half-blind Labrador (28kg) used to its smell we tempted her across it, on the flat, a few times with a new treat. She was a little nervous the first few times she used it “for real” but the new treats helped. She now readily walks up without a treat in front of her nose but expects one when she reaches the top! So far, so good.

    Problem solved
This is substantial so suitable for big dogs. Mine didn’t like the sandpaper style grip so replaced it with carpet tile, cheap fix now resolved the issue of the dogs slipping . One dog uses it reluctantly but much better than lifting or asking them to jump. Does the job.

On the first roadside use, we almost left with a rubber stop left on the roadside. I like the ramp, and so shall the dog–and the advice to guard each side with a person is useful–but I mark down for the lack of suitable washers to secure the rubber stops–the screws don’t give the stops adequate solidity. I’ll probably be heading to B&Q for four suitable washers (about 1/2″ diameter), which should really be bundled with the unit as standard.

Excellent, really impressed with how sturdy it is. Purchased for a Rottweiler, Rottweiler x and Labrador and all of them are perfectly happy with it and I have no worries about it supporting them. Good, gritty non-slip surface. Quite wide, so it’s not like them ‘walking the plank’. Sits well over the bumper of my van and folds up tidily with a clip to fasten shut.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersGood piece of ki
I’ve been using this for a couple of months or so now and I have to say I’m really pleased with it. Made from rigid and hard wearing plastic, the hinge has a metal insert all the way through it so it’s unlikely to break. Our two middle aged Springers got used to using it really quickly and its so much kinder on their leg joints instead of jumping in and out of the back of the car.
The only slight niggle is that the non-slip tread is glued on and VERY thin. The glue is fine but because of their claws, small tears appeared through the tread very quickly – I can imagine over time this will degrade the non-slip properties but for now at least, it’s absolutely fine. Would recommend
UPDATE – 31/07/17 – unfortunately last week the product broke BUT after contacting the seller they were BRILLIANT. They immediately offered a replacement or refund – and because I have been very happy with the ramp I asked for a replacement. I was expecting them to send it by the cheapest (and slowest) way possible so I was amazed when the replacement turned up the next day. Excellent customer service! Thank you.

Great ramp for our 9 year old chocolate labrador recovering from surgery. Good grip and reassuring sides. Did a couple of practice runs on the flat and onto the sofa before using it to access the dog crate in the back of our VW Sharan (25cm height). She walks up it more calmly now and we wouldn’t be without it. Looks smart and hinge easily folds once to tuck ramp in the car boot. Weatherproof too. The fast delivery was appreciated.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersGreat buy!
I was looking for a ramp for my alsation to side load through the rear door onto the back seats. This product is brilliant, you can unfold and fold using only one hand leaving your other hand free to hold the dog if necessary. It is lightweight and fits either in the space behind the front seats or in the boot (I have a Renault Megane). It only sticks out about a foot after the car door is fully open but you’ll need to park by a pavement, not in a multi-storey car park inbetween 2 cars! The dog didn’t like it at first but soon got the hang of it. (Using treats helped!). We all think it’s great and far less stressful than trying to pick her up! Would definately recommend it.

Lightweight and durable, dog took to it after a little coaxing, there is a raised edge to the ramp which is good but this isn’t enough to prevent the dog from falling off so care needs to be taken walking them both up and down the ramp. Utterly brilliant – this ramp has transformed my elderly collie’s life. He is almost totally blind, and going down stairs has become really hard. If I position him at the top of this ramp however, he trots down it very confidently – going up took a bit longer to crack, but he’s fine now. The non-slip surface is excellent, even in the rain. At 18 he needs to get down the steps to the back garden quite often, and this makes it possible.

Seems good and fit for purpose. Two of the four rubber stops weren’t attached but they were in the box and so were the screws. Cocker took to it immediately. Elderly Springer (reason for buying) is considering it at the french door at the moment. Seems strong enough. I would have paid a little more if a zip up bag had been provided. In muddy conditions or after a beach visit it needs storing in the car, not the boot with the dogs, so the inevitable black bag will have to do.

Great piece of kit. This ramp fits on the back of my Landrover Freelander (approx 2 1/2 foot) & allows my Labrador in & out of the rear of the vehicle without the risk of him damaging himself by jumping. The ramp also fits my partners Suzuki Alto this is only a little car. We did have to train my Labrador to use the ramp, we this by putting it laying up against the sofa in the living room & using treats to get him to walk up down it. We then moved it onto the vehicle, using treats he quickly grasped what the ramp was for & we now use it all the time.

Sadly my poor lab died before she could use it, but the ramp was great. I would really recommend it.

    Excellent product!
Excellent product and very good value for money. I have two elderly German Shepherd dogs whom I would normally have to lift their back end into the tailgate of the car. They very quickly learned that the ramp makes it easy for them and now they go up and down happily.

I have two Basset Hounds and with their tiny legs and massive bodies I was tired of having to lift them into the 4×4 especially after they had gone on a muddy walk. This gives them plenty of width to walk up and they have never slipped on the surface. Fits in fairly well inside the boot. well worth the investment, even for larger dogs.

After much searching and getting a thorough headache I was delighted with this product. Perfectly robust for my Setter and she got used to it very quickly. This stows very neatly behind the passenger seat and is not too heavy for me to handle on a daily basis.
    Highly recommended.

    Excelle
A very sturdy ramp, does not bend or wobble. folds up neatly in boot and light enough to get in and out. Took some training to get dog used to it but now he is vary happy to go on it and is certainly saving his joints from impact of jumping in and out.

Good for the money. Dog took some persuading but food bribes helped. The ramp is light enough for me to lift easily and strong enough to take the weight of a golden retriever. Not enough room to store in the back of my VW Golf when the dog’s there too. Scratchy surface doesn’t seem to bother dog. Could do with an easy strap or cover to keep tidy.

I am an old lady buying a ramp for my elderly dog. I was looking for something light, easily portable that could be opened up, closed, and put in the back of the car with ease. This ramp is brilliant. The dog is happier going down than going up, but she is happy to use it and it means we can continue to get out and about and visit the grandchildren. Also, the Amazon price is excellent.

Golden Review Award: 35 From Our UsersProblem solved - the sides sold i
I spent all afternoon reviewing dog ramps and after three hours and reading the review made by another customer came to the conclusion that what counts is weight, ease of use, depth of incline, anti-slip surface, width if your dog is medium to large size and sides to give a sense of security especially for elderly dogs.

The ramp arrived three days ago. It seems with some persuasion my dogs (collies aged 15 and 12 respectively) can be taught new tricks. Much more inclined to mount than descend the ramp but they seem to have caught on already. The sides are really important for old dogs. So far the only criticism is that the anti slip surface does not have quite as much grip as I might have hoped but as the dogs are closely monitored and held anyway it is ok. The ramp is quite bulky and only just fits in my ford focus boot along with the dog crate.

Thus far, I believe I made the right decision.

I bought this dog ramp after doing a lot of research on the internet. I am very happy with it and feel I bought just the right one. I found a link to Easy Animal which said they have an advice service and when I rang them I was asked a few questions about my dog and my vehicle and they suggested this Solvit Ultralite. I ordered it that morning and it arrived the next day. It is easy to use, very light weight, strong, wide enough for my border collie to totter a little on the way up and also there are sides which make her more safe. It folds in two and can easily be stowed away in the van. The surface is like a sandpaper effect which gives her a good grip. It was slightly more expensive than the other ones I had seen – 56ish- but worth every penny and I am totally satisfied.
When looking at lists of dog ramps this one doesn’t come up in the first ten or so but actually I think it is probably one of the best.
Now my dog is using it without any biscuit rewards and she is so much more relaxed now that she doesn’t have to jump in and out onto arthritic legs. We are travelling to Spain soon so the ramp will have a lot of use.
