Looks good and easy to install also works well, both my dog and cats can use with no problems. My only criticism would be is it is not very wind resistant and does flap about in the wind, also it could do with some spacers when installing in a larger gap i.e. walls. Would definately recommend.

This is by far the best dog flap I’ve had put in my back door. My friend fitted it. And said it was so easy to install. My dogs have chewed previous flaps off and made a hole but with this one because the flap is so easy it doesn’t bother them at all. Lovely and big for my 3 large huskies to get through. The cover that goes over to close is is very sturdy and clips in with a dead bolt on the top so it’s very secure. I am pleased as I have had this fitted about 2 months now and it’s still sturdy and very easy to wipe clean. 5 stars as I won’t be needing to buy a new dog flap every couple of months now. Great buy A*****

Good product, dog loves it. Down side – if its windy the flap does not always close alowing draft through

The plasitc screws that come with it are useless, had to buy repalcements

Very good product. Had cat flaps in the past that have been disappointing, but not this one. Only let down is the plastic bolts, that I swapped for metal ones..

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe Best thing I have ever bought, I’m a German shepherd owner so If you own one I definitely recommend, all gsd owners know sometimes dog gets the runs and with this door installed I have had clean house in a morning, excellent worth every penny! Other half fitted it for me and not to many sware words. Had this door for over 18months and still as good as it was when new, easy to wipe down, Perfect for 40kg extremely large German shepherd to run in and out as she wishes. Can’t recommend this door enough!

The only point I would like to make is that the flap is not “transparent” – it is opaque. Not a problem for my dogs, but was not appreciated by the cat, who also uses it! Has taken her about 3 weeks to use it.

This is a good product, our puppy is a chewer but thanks to the snap back magnet, the plastic flap is safe.
As pointed out by other reviews major flaw is the PLASTIC screws definate no no! Not fit for purpose not strong enough and again easily chewed! We immediately went to our local hardware store and bought relevant screws and bolts! All in all excellent value, and a godsend dogs should not have to hold their bladder’s all day, gives them freedom. Recommend but buy your own screws.

I’ve had the original older pet door for 6 years – it worked so well that I order 2 more to coincide with replacement doors refurb at home. My two extra large Golden Retrievers love them. The magnetic strip on the newer model is great.

Friend put in, took an hour, he took door off for me.

It’s big, think could of got smaller one.

    But all good.

IMHO not good for outside door, as anyone can crawl into your home at any time. Plastic cover IMHO is not enough, believe someone could break thigh it easy enough.

But we like it, it’s what we wanted. If there is a chip device, we’d like that too.

At first instalment it fits close to the panel unlike other flaps. Haveving just installed it I would recommend taking the pvc panel out of the door first
It’s an easy op ration that way
The panel fits back in with ease
Metal is stronger than plastic especially with big dogs like shepards

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis has changed my life. My large 3 year old 40kg dog runs through it no problem and my puppy also manages to let himself in and out. It’s on a upvc door so the pattern makes it too wide to meet in the middle but that’s no big deal, I’ll improvise something. It doesn’t seal at the edges as well as it could but only moves in strong wind. Can’t recommend this enough though!

I would have given this 5* but it is just too big and it would allow a child easy access to the house.
I have fitted a steel bar across the top fixed to our door , making the flap around 5 inches shorter and now much more secure.
The dog does have to slightly crouch to get in but has no problem. (about the size of a tall lab)
Very nicely made , good quality , almost draft proof , well worth the money ****

I didn’t do such a brilliant job fitting it. I used the template provided but I was so worried I wouldn’t make the hole big enough that I cut a little outside the line – didn’t need to do that so made life difficult for myself. Best advice here is mark it up and offer up the bit that fits thru the door to your marks to check you are going to cut it large enough to give some wriggle room but not to be too loose, then cut the hole. Once the hole was cut I invited the dogs through a few times – no problem they thought it was fun. It was easy to install and works really well, so much better than a constantly open door. We have three dogs and it didn’t take long for them to get the hang of using it so they now dive thru with confidence. Having the slide-in locking panel is great and so easy to use too but I found finding somewhere to put it where the dogs couldn’t destroy it a problem so made a hanging strap from a section of soap powder box plastic strap as you can see in the photo so I could leave it handy. Thoroughly recommend.

Take your time fitting and it'll be perfec

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersJust fitted this and was very satisfied until I tried to slide in the locking door. You slide it in from the top. It is made of rigid plastic. The panel in the PVC door in which I fitted the pet door is recessed, making it almost impossible to slide in the locking door. I actually had to shave the edges of the locking door to get it to slide in and in so doing cracked it. It’s still a fiddle to get it in and out. I’m now contemplating buying a replacement locking door or buying a more flexible piece of plastic which will more easily manoeuvre into position. The other alternative is to remove the pet door and fit some kind of spacer to bring it further our so the locking door can more easily slide in. This won’t look so neat and of course I will need new plastic screws as I’ve cut the other ones to size. I’m amazed the manufacturers don’t warn you of this. Many doors have recessed panels like ours. If you not a dab hand at DIY like me, you probably wouldn’t think of this when buying and fitting. Archie, my Springer is going back and forwards. I had to entice him with treats. I can see he will soon be bounding through.

This is a high quality product. The large size is bigger than you think – mine was bought for access for my Cocker Spaniels, but the 50kg Rottweiler passes through it as well. It is a pity it only comes in white. I spray painted mine to match the rest of my decor.

Great product. The only thing that I didn’t like about it was the security cover, which was solid plastic, and when we came to fit it into the door, the flap would not lift out because it hit the central bar of the door. It would be better if it was more flexible and had some movement.

Golden Review Award: 32 From Our UsersUsed to have a PetMate door with a solid plastic flap, which broke before our dog was a year old, so bought this when we moved to a new house. We got the large size for our 25kg labradoodle and it seems about right.
The door has a metal frame and flexible plastic flap which feels like it will last much longer. It’s also much quieter when she goes in and out and closes better to keep out the elements. The removable panel to shut the door off also feels very solid and secure.
However, after 7 months the plastic bolts suddenly broke when the dog came in, leaving her wearing the inside of the door around her middle! I repaired it with some metal M4 bolts and it’s now better than new. I understand that the bolts need to be cut to length according to the width of the door, and plastic makes it easier to install, but it would have been better if it was supplied with metal bolts. Considering that a person can easily fit through the large door it would also feel more secure when closed off, as the plastic bolts could be very easily broken from the outside.

Bought large size opening for an Alsation. Very good quality. Great for when you are out. Saves getting up and down all evening for a dog that loves to lay in the garden. The only issues I had was that the outside step was short before it dropped away so the dog scraped her belly going through, this was fixed with a couple of patio slabs outside. Also if fitting it to a wooden panelled door that is quite thin, you may need some strips of battening to fit to the inside bevel to tighten the frame against.

This is brilliant bought the large which works for my male German shepherd and female Rottweiler. Two problems with it though, one: the plastic screws break off too easily (can easily be sorted by fitting metal ones) two: if you have a panelled door like mine you probably won’t be able to slide the cover on, I made a modification to the cover though which has sorted this out.

Perfect size for my airedale, good quality and price, really helpful with constant access to the rear garden. I had to change the plastic screws for more resistant metal ones after my dog force the closed door and went through but really happy about the frame and and quality in general. Great quality, very sturdy construction and well thought out plans, which makes the installation very easy. Note that the “bolts” to tight both sides are made of plastic and are extremely easy to snap, I replace them with proper bolts which only costed me a few cents, no idea why they put those plastic ones but not a big deal either.

Dog loves his freedom and definitely it’s a piece of mind knowing he can go in/out as he wishes while we’re not at home. I would extremely recommend it.

I purchased this product for two dogs, a Beagle and Lab X Rottie, both fit through the flap with no issues. really good sturdy design. only issue is with the lock to close the flap. the lock is a piece of hard plastic that needs to slide down from top to bottom, my door is a UPVC door with glass at the top and UPVC panel at the bottom with a divide in the middle. its hard to fit the lock on due to the middle of the door sticking out, I imagine a lot of doors will have this issue, I can fault the actual product but cant see the lock last more than a year.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a good quality dog flap. However, please note that the thickness of your door is crucial, otherwise you will have to build a frame inside your door!!! I had to do this and had to build an internail frame 2cm thick which added considerable time to the fitting of the flap. Also the plastic screws can snap so make sure you are reallly careful when you are tightening them – I made this mistake and snapped one! I then had to search in my tool box for a substitute!! It was all fun and games but i got there in the end and my dog had taken to it like a duck to water, with the help of a few treats!!

We bought this model hoping that he would not be able to do the same with aluminium and yes! He is unable to bite it as the frame is almost flash to the door!
The only cons for us, the medium size of plastic and aluminium doors are different so make sure you take measurements!

Warmer, old one rattled in the wind and let cold in, this one closes quietly and firmly so no more draughts. My heavy handed son broke the head on one of the screw/bolts whilst fitting. Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGreat for bigger boisterous dogs, the flexible flap doesn’t break when you dog charges through, we’ve had a few of these flaps over the last ten or eleven years and they survive well, the older rigid plastic type used to snap very quickly. Our cat and dog use this freely and seem happier to use this as it’s slightly transparent and makes little noise when opening / closing. It keeps draughts out as has a rubber seal. Great bit of kit and bought specifically for my three dogs, one labradoodle at 21 inch and two greyhounds at about 29 inch to the shoulder. The labradoodle understood the door immediately but the greyhounds took a couple of days. Easy to install

Easy to fit, takes up the whole bottom panel of a upvc door height ways. About 4 inches left either side width ways.

This is a good flap let down by the plastic screws. I know screws don’t cost much but should be provided. Straight forward to install but couldn’t make head nor tail out of the template provided. As other reviewers have said it’s hard to get the locking cover in if you haven’t got a flush door but all these things were expected when ordering. Thanks to other reviewers.

Good strong product but the cover is really hard to install if you have a UVPVC door as the cross bar on the door makes getting it in and out very difficul

Fantastic, quality pet door. This one is super large and my Collie/Husky loves it. He used to get angry with our old pet door as it was too small and the plastic was chewable. This one is mainly aluminium and because the flap is made of heavy duty rubber, He goes in and out really happily. He hasn’t tried to chew it once yet. Oh yes, the door is super rigid which means my dog can’t chew his way through that either! We went for months with just a hole in the back door!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHaving had a plastic framed pet door previously that fell apart over several years of high volume pet traffic, I decided to go for this metal frame model. Upon opening up the box, I could tell that the build quality was far superior to the door I’d had previously. It is sturdy and fits together easily and well. Once installed, the door really does look pleasing and it matches in well with our upvc door. It maintains a good seal to minimise draughts. It is relatively quiet when being used by our dogs/cats (whereas the plastic version we had was very noisy). The dimensions of it are also really good for our larger dog as it has a generous depth dimension; ideal for the build of our dog as she used to struggle with the squarer proportions of our old pet door. Overall; delighted with the door.

I had had several of the plastic versions of this make and they are rubbish. This is totally different. Quality construction and finish. Eventually the plastic door part failed after a year or two but you can buy a replacement. It also comes with a steel insert to block the door for when you are away etc. Not sure how secure in reality that would be but it will definitely stop unwanted animals coming in.

I’ve had one of these for 3 years and our old rescue English Bull terrier had it sussed within a couple of hours, she loves it!! We then decided to have a Miniature English Bull terrier puppy, she also got it and was therefore house trained within 2 months. The problem was she decided to chew the flap off so I got in touch with the manufacturer and got a replacement flap delivered for 15, she again attempted to chew this!! I have now had to cut some thin sheet metal and bolt it onto both sides of the flap and so far so good!!!
Great product, works well, as long as your pup doesn’t decide to rip it off!!

It was easy to fit and my 4 dogs used it straight away . I have a 30 kilo collie (the largest of the pack) and she goes in and out no problem.
I am delighted with this Pet door and highly recommend to any one in need.
No more open doors letting in the cold…..would never be without one of these now.

A very happy doggie owner lifes so much easier for me and the dogs :0 )

Excellent product we have a rather crazy husky who managed to destroy the plastic door on my last dog flap. But the rubberised door on this gives enough flexibility that when she gallops through it moves with her. Although I am sure she will attempt to chew the rubber door off at some point but at least I can buy a replacement door. Also the aluminium frame allows it to get a closer fit to the door when installing. The draft is also very minimal with this product. I am very impressed with this item.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersThis is the best dog door I’ve ever bought (we’ve had a couple of others previously – they were ok, but not as good as this one]. Why? This one was was slightly cheaper than the last one I bought a few years ago; it looks tidy and I think it will stay that way for a long time, because the frame is painted aluminium – not plastic – and it’s robust and well-made, and the bits and pieces inside are completely covered with the frame; the flap is flexible, quiet and appears to have a good, strong magnet to keep it closed [although it may blow open slightly if the weather was very windy…but not so far; it’s easy to clean and comes up a treat each time; the cover is strong and includes a ‘locking’ nut, to keep it closed [has to be pulled out from the inside to allow you to slide the cover off]; inevitably, a few hairs collect on the draught-proofing fluffy strip down each side of the opening, but they’re very easy to remove. I don’t know how easy it was to fit, as it was done by the chap who fitted our new, double glazed door, and he didn’t comment, but did it pretty quickly.

he pet door has improved the dogs life as he is free to come in and out as he wants. The door is really quiet and reasonably easy to fit BUT there is always a draft as the flexible door doesn’t fit tightly and you have to be careful if you have a centre bar on the house door that the locking plate will slide in. We have a bar on our door which prevents it from sliding up and down.

This pet door is sturdy, and it makes no noise when the dog is going through it. The closing system is great as it keeps it shut so the heat doesn’t escape through it. The only thing is that I would have liked to have an option to buy such a pet door that would be appropriate for a very thin aluminium door, which is our case. We couldn’t have it installed properly because of this problema, and had to adjust it.
For other regular doors, this is a perfect option, I do recommend it.

wow, having invested in one of these a few years ago, I can honestly say that they have improved a great deal. Now the hole is nowhere near as wide, so intruders would find it quite hard to enter. The casing in aluminium is strong, the flap stays put, so there isnt a draught. The drop down cover is easy to drop in…. and what a doddle to fit. It probably took me a couple of hours but then I am a lady pensioner.

pretty good not that easy to fit, have not put the door flap on we just open or close the sliding door as needed, we have a 6 month old akita who is just over 5 stone and is still growing fast, it will be big enough for him though. fixed 2 window locks on the sliding door so it can be locked, there is no way of locking it other wise.

I’m very happy with this product.
It’s manufactured well and easy to install.
Some people comment about the flap blowing open but it’s not a problem for me.
Obviously its a balance with the magnet strength in the flap versus the wind. If the flap is in a door that can vent through the house easily then I can see how it could blow open in a very strong gust.
Mine is fitted in the laundry door that has another door before going into the house, so it works really well.
I would certainly buy this again.
My dog has just chewed the corner of the flap so I’m off to buy a new flap. This is not a fault with the flap and my dog would chew anything right now it seems!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHi, I’m ‘Bootie’…..I’m an American bulldog, I’m huge compared to my room-mate ‘Jake’, who’s a Jack Russell.
When I took up residence here….he had his own door, but it was much too small for me….I could only get my snout out of it!
Thankfully, the humans are caring and got me this super-dooper door – it’s grrrreat, I love it. At first, I kept going in and out ….just for the sheer fun of it…now….well….I use it as it’s meant to be used, but, it’s still grrrreat!

From the human side…it was easy to install and it’s easy to keep clean. It also keeps out any draughts. It also means I don’t have to get up every time the dogs want out into the garden.

This bigger version replaced the one we installed in the 80’s for our cats, then used by our Jack Russells – as this is the same make…hoping it will last as long.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought the dog flap for my 6 month old English Setter pup who enjoys being in the garden one minute but then wants to see what your up to the next….so voices herself loudly at the back door. We installed the frame…it did not fit originally because my UPVC door has a raised pattern in it, so we built a wooden frame into the dod frame to enable the security panel to slide down..Success!
Luna loves it and she has not had a single accident in the house since we got it…Success No2
No more barking at the back door to be in or out…Success No3
My 4 score and not 5 is for the flap itself, its is very quiet and indeed fairly draft proof but she has chewed it at the bottom where the magnets attach, it has not taken away the purpose and she can still use it more than adequately, but I just wish it had been that little bit stronger! 14 replacement every time will work out costly, touch wood since she took her first few nipples she seems to of left it alone!
    Overall a good buy.

Having had staywll flaps before, decided to opt for the premium model, having replaced our back door.
Very pleased with the overall flap, not ‘easy’ to fit, but ok, if you’re presistent & accurate.
The heavy-duty plastic flap is VERY quiet, barely makes any noise at all when dogs enter/exit. However, unless you are VERY accurate with the measurements, the flap does not fit snggly. The draft proofing either side does help, but in a strong wind, the plastic flaps bends & therefore lets a howling gale through.
    Quality is very good.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this flap as my whippet didn’t really like the hard plastic door on our previous flap, this does blow open with the slightest of winds and is not very good for a door that has two separate panels with a plastic centre piece for support and dividing the main panels as you have to bend the metal shut off door panel that comes with the flap and try to hold the locking pin out at the same time which can be quite awkward but we do things like this for our pets. The only other issue we’ve had is the little screws holding the flap keep coming loose so we are going to try putting some washers on as someone else mentioned in their review, all in all it is still a good dog flap and I would buy it again especially as the price is also very good.

We ordered the XL dog door although we have 2 medium to large Boxers. But now that we have it, i’m glad we didn’t order one any smaller. It’s perfect for them to go in & out when they like but we can keep the door shut to save cold draughts & wind & rain blowing in. It took a couple of days for them to get used to using it (but one of them is a complete wuss!). But now it’s great. I love that it’s sturdy, well made aluminium frame doesn’t rattle everytime they use it & the flap being soft & rubbery again prevents the off-putting rattling that the plastic ones do. It’s easy to keep clean & was relatively easy to install. Our door is multi-panelled & we were worried that it wouldn’t fit well but it’s fine & still sturdy.
My only criticism is that both bottom corner frames were bent outwards creating a dangerously sharp metal point. We have had to hammer them back flat before the dogs cut themselves (or us as it’s where the locking panel slides down to the bottom). This was a quality issue on ours i believe as opposed to a design issue on the product.
Generally, really pleased with the product & it’s an excellent solution for our dogs!

This is a very robust dog flap. Big enough for Labs & large Springer Spaniel, but also light enough for Jack Russell. It is not entirely draught-proof, but only flaps around when the wind is in a particular direction and very strong. The closing slide in security panel is made of thick plastic, I would have prefered it to be metal like in the bigger size of dog flap, but it seems strong enough. Overall pleased and much better than the plastic-framed dog flaps that my dogs destroy.

I wish I bought this years ago, I have always had a dog flap that my dogs and cats use.I used to have the old plastic dog flap that let in the cold and rain and if it was windy the draft was terrible but this magnetic dog flap is brilliant. It is easy to use for the animals and very quiet which is good if your animal is a bit sound sensitive or frightened to use it at first. The magnetic tabs keep the flap shut when not used and it keeps out the rain and wind.Brilliant product.
My 1year old springer uses it as does my 8week old puppy and 12 year old cat no problems.

I bought this together with the standard plastic one. Our dog uses this one but not the plastic one as the plastic flap has a ‘double’ frame that flaps independently which puts the dog off. My advice is to only buy the aluminium flaps – more expensive but at least your dog will use it!

This is a brilliant dog door. This company does a cheaper one made of plastic that I owned originally and this one is 100% better. It is made of metal which is infinatly more sensible than plastic as the dogs find it much more difficult to destroy and obviously it is much stronger. This one also has a small brush rim around the inside which means that it makes very little noise when it opens and closes. WOuld definitly recommend this one to anyone. Be warned though I have bought the lrge door and I can actually fit through this thing myself so only put it in a door which is highly secure from everyone else.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersA very good and long lasting {hopefully) dog door. It is a replacement item for the same company’s plastic door – am just confused as to why the dimensions are different to the original plastic item.
