Like this iron very much; a little heavy to pick up but great and smooth glide over clothes. works extremely well.
I’ve had Phillips Azur steam irons for well over 25 years. I used to replace them every couple or so when I had a holiday cottage (continuous ironing of bedding) but the current two must be quite old. One was a hasty replacement and was a lower wattage and never as good as the others. Went large for this when thermostat dial collapsed on one and am very pleased – don’t mind the extra weight and the power/steam delivery is excellent. Minuses, as noted by others: hard to see the water level in the dark container; no little jug; no cord clip. But the ease with which I get the ironing done points up how tired the old one(s) were.
No massive issues with the iron, its works well and can get creases out with ease. my only small issues are the calc filter can be a bit fiddly to get off sometimes and the water spray is a bit too spread out.
Replaced an old one of this make and model still like i
Smooth iron, a little heavy however the weight helps get the creases out. Can see the water level
Does exactly what it claims to do! Excellent! A little heavier than my previous iron but makes a wonderful job of the ironing. I’m very pleased
This iron glides across the material make it so much easier to get through a load of ironing. I have a 1600 spin on my washer so everything is heavily creased when it comes out but this make it easy to iron them out.
I always buy Philips irons and this is the best one ye
Bought as a present for daughter. She was impressed how easy it was to iron and she hates ironing. Must be good !!!
Having had my previous steam iron for over twenty years, i needed a new one and this Philips Azur iron seemed to be a good replacement. It has not disappointed with its versatility and excellent results but is not as ‘lightweight’ as my previous one which takes some getting used to!
Cord is long, Heats quickly. Quite heave but makes a great job of taking the creases out. I’m in my seventies and I find it fine to use.
Bought to replace my previous old Azur. This new version is lighter to handle but gives excellent results.
Nice, sleek black iron. Gets creases out with ease. Only downside is viewing the water in the water tank as it is also black. It’s not as light as I thought it was going to be.
Great iron just glides perfectly love using it( well my hubby does haha)
Bought for an army recruit who needed precision, speed and reliability.
This iron provided that. It’s heavy enough, easy to control, quick heat up, good steam delivery.
It’s a useful back up for daily use.
I wouldn’t attempt ironing sheets with it though ..
I have used similar iron for a long time. it losts long and works really well, super steamy
easy to use, heats up quickly and irons very well. Have not had it long enough to say more
This iron is slower in heating up than my last iron. That is not the fault of the iron. My last was also a Philips Azure but it was 2800w so therefore heated up faster. I have had Philips Azure irons for years and wouldn’t buy anything else. My last iron was over 10 years old so hoping this is the same
Great product, previously had a pro professional and wanted to keep to same brand. Similar in size and weight to my old iron – very happy
Lovely to iron with, but a bit heavier than I thought it would be (why only 3 stars) but it irons better than the lightweight ones as fewer ironing strokes to get rid of the creases.
I bought this for my wife after our current one started to play up, not bad for over 10 years use. She loves the new one, easy to use no problems.
Hubby says it’s very good. This iron, irons better than our old Tesco cheap iron that burnt my dress. You pay for what you get. This is quality so it’s an Excellent buy.
At a great price , good quality it’s an Iron what more can i say , oh yes my wife thinks it’s the best she’s used in 38 years good enough for me.
At first thought bit heavy but it ironed perfectly so as it was easy didn’t notice the weight once I got used to it . Best iron I have ever had
I like the ergonomics of this ironing, not the lightest but irons quiet easily so major lifting to be done! I like this purchase very much!
After much reviewing on several websites.
One overall commitment was
Congratulations you’ve found the best steem iron available & after yousing it for the first time I 100% agree with everybody’s posative reviews.
Strongly recommend.
Would definitely buy another one.
Only one minor con.
The black iron water tank isn’t easy to see how much water you’ve used.
But don’t let that deter you from buying the best steem iron available.
Gets my vote.
Worth every penny.
We have to buy irons quite regularly as my husband is quite heavy handed and always ends up breaking of the lid to the water tank. So far so good, still in tact and this iron works well with lots of steam – good value for money.
This iron looks good and functions well (so far-only had it about 6 months but not used often), and i love the longer cord it comes with.
My only complaint is that the extra steam shot button is in such position under the handle that it is easy to catch (and i DO catch it often) accidentally, using water unnecessarily and making the room steamy and hot.
I generally recommend this iron.
Excellent iron; great steam and heat. Makes you want to iron all those linen clothes.
Ideal for my sewing. It’s thin soleplate is ideal to press seams when I am constructing garments, cuts off when left idle and switched on but reheats quickly and has plenty of steam. Nice long lead and not too heavy, like some.
I was a little sceptical with this purchase having read some reviews stating that it wasn’t worth the RRP, so when given the opportunity to purchase for a third of that, I took the plunge.
Functions very well, the best iron I’ve used. Arrived with no additional packaging from amazon, just the product box itself, which is great to see. I was expecting marks and signs of use, none of which were present.
Overall, great experience with amazon warehouse, and solid iron for a great price!
Weight is good
Steams well but leaks droplets of water occasionally
It’s a great iron and makes short work of the ironing pile. I feel though that I must mention that it is longer than most regular irons. This makes a difference when ironing as it may not sit properly or at all in the Ironing Board rest well. It certainly will not stay in a wall / door Iron holder when you put it away.
I dropped and broke it’s predecessor (exactly the same model!) but this replacement is a superior product.
It steams better and the setting dials and levers work much more smoothly.
Was happy with the previous one and am delighted with this new one!!
This has to be the best iron I’ve used. I thought I’d spend a bit more and see what it’s like. Makes ironing easier. It is a little heavy but no more so than normal. Easy to use and has a good cord length
By far the best iron I have ever owned. Got it when it was on offer so even happier! Can be quite heavy when filled to max with water. Needs filling often but worth it as it cuts down the actual time spent ironing. Highly recommend
Exactly what I needed, I’ve used Phillips irons for over 2 decades, in between I’ve tried other brands and I was very disappointed because I’m used to quality and durability. The cord is long enough to move the iron around, it moves smoothly and it’s very light in weight, the temperature control is accurate and you can change the temperature for different materials, I’ve never burnt anything with Phillips iron brand, worth the money it makes ironing easier, which I hate by the way because it’s not an easy job for me and I’ll definitely continue to use this brand.
Gave it 4 stars as the heat control is a little too tight below the handle and it’s easy to alter the temperature — however, it doesn’t really matter as a slight ‘nudge’ doesn’t alter the temperature.
Glad I bought it and recommend it as it irons easily, fills easily, you can see the amount of water in it clearly, it’s a good weight, and it empties easily!
I love this range but realised it wasn’t the same as my last one. This model is very heavy in comparison to the azure performance model which I had before. Still does a good job at ironing.
Better then previous Philips I got. Seams to use more steam and its heavier so it flats out any wrinkles no problem. Mostly use for my shirts but used it on curtains and it was a quick ironing.
Excellent iron, with a bit of weight to it and good cord length. Goes through water quite quickly on steam setting and difficult to read water level.
Otherwise, satisfactory.
Super functions, glides beautifully – but rather on the heavy side for Mrs.
This is my third Philips azure iron , to me they are the best iron on the market. The first one I had for a long time, this one was the best at getting rid of the line scale, it was brilliant, the second one I still have as a spare and I have just bought the latest one. I like ironing to me it’s relaxing, this is only since I started using the azure, magic iron, Fabulous amount of steam, and the new one has a great long lead which is very helpful if you only have a certain area you can iron in.
The box was delivered and left on my doorstep… just the iron box, opened, no Amazon box, no return label, I think it may have been second hand. It’s quite heavy, and no better than any other iron we have owned.. but no worse… so as an iron, it does its job.
I’m a big believer in letting the iron do the work rather than pressing down constantly on the clothes. This is exactly what I was after, it’s heavier than most irons and has a large surface area. Cord length is good at 2.5mtrs and the iron itself looks very smart.
I was recommended this by my uncle who has swore by this for years and it did not disappoint!! I gave up ironing duvet covers years ago as it took too long now it’s ironed and put away within 20 mins and that’s for king size . It’s fantastic and I’d recommend this iron 100% better then any iron I’ve had before .
Very pleased with new Philips Azur iron. Have been using this brand / model for years and they last a long time. This one seems a bit lighter than my old one but has some handy extras for draining the water and cleaning out scale. It seems to iron really well, even on the eco setting but does go through a lot of water.
For some reason the grey one I bought is approx 15 cheaper than the black version. If you don’t care about the colour, go for the grey.
These irons are the best but unfortunately this one is a little more heavier than the one that just stopped working after yrs of ironing. The weight does not bother me as it’s a good iron.
Ideal.
Automatically turns off if not used for a few moments. Steam control very good.
Been in dire need of a new steam iron for a while now, and after consulting a few reviews I was pointed in the direction of this. Aesthetically it is a charming piece of kit. The construction is lightweight but sturdy, and the handle is very ergonomic. The multiple temperature settings work a treat and it heats up in very little time. The water reservoir is large enough to deal with most medium washes and the auto-off feature stops any wastage. Very pleased and would reccomend to any professional who needs their ironing to be swift and fuss free!
Really good iron
I have had a steak iron for years but this is much better and more storage space
The only thing i can fault is the weight of the iron. It is quite heavy
We liked everything about this iron. We liked the colour he weight, all the features including the permanent steam processor the anti-talc system which is so easy to empty, in fact WE LIKE EVERYTHING ABOUT THE IRON.
This is our second Azur in 15 years, these are great irons, lightweight, easy to use, gives great amount of steam, this iron is quicker to iron than the previous model, good cord length. Would recommend this iron. The only negatives I found was that it didn’t come with a filling jug, or cord grip, which were supplied with the previous model, but I just took the cord grip from the old model and put on the new one, so not a bad issue.
This glided through my ironing, I thought my last one which I had for a long time was good, but this one has such a smooth plate on it, it takes less effort. It doesn’t sit very well in my iron holder on the wall as the bottom is not at 90 degrees to the plate, but as long as I don’t knock it doesn’t fall out.
Philips Azur Steam Iron With 250g Steam Boost – Brilliant Iron. This is the best iron I have ever used. A bit pricey but well worth it. It’s labour saving as even the hardest creases are removed with ease, I would definitely recommend i
I have used Phillips Azur irons for years and have found them to be very good and very reliable. Bought this model when on offer at almost half price. It is a bit bigger and a little more heavier than my previous iron but not overly so. Easy to iron with and glides over materials. Would definitely recommend this iron.
A bit bulky, but handles well just like our last iron which was also an Azur, it’s just that the thermostat packed in on y old one after 13 yrs! Good product, thoroughly recommended
I hate ironing at the best of times, but this iron at least takes the edge of! It’s lightweight, reaches the desirable temperature fast, easy to use and irons well.
Bought 2-3 weeks ago and very happy so far. Quite a big iron, some people might think too big, but we like it. Previous iron was a similar priced Rowenta, but that packed up after 3-4 years….as always seems to happen, however good you think they are.
I bought this to replace mine which is full of limescale. It appeared to be the same model but this one doesn’t have any grip on the handle so it slips around in my hand which is annoying. My old one has a rubbery covering on the handle which was better. It does the job though.
She says that it produces by far the best results she has known and with less effort. This seems to be a winning combination to me. As the one responsible for replacing the previous broken iron with this one I can also claim to be very pleased with the purchase! (In my defence I can claim to have done many years of ironing from childhood to, less frequently, nowadays!)
An iron that can deliver pleasure painlessly for the user must be a winner!
It’s good and easy to use ,, good temperature control and I recommend i
I got this for my wife who took forever to decide on what iron to get and what was the best iron to get, she done a lot of research on the best iron on the market so chose this one.
This iron is actually fantastic! Highly recommend! It glides along the cloths and makes ironing so much quicker, the point of the iron also makes it really easy to get into little corners of the clothing like the cuffs of shirts.
Really recommend and well worth the money for such a good quality product. We also live the little compartment for the limescale…. fantastic idea!
Having been in the military for 25 years, I do know a thing or two about ironing. This is one of the best irons I have ever used, the smooth plate glides easy, it heats up and maintains temperature very well. The steam is consistent and powerful.
Living in a very hard water area I tend to go through irons and kettles very quickly. I have been impressed with the calc filter on this iron and how easy it is to empty.
I would recommend this and buy it again.
So, with a mountain of linen to iron and a post-lock down hairdo to protect (the steam iron isn’t kind to hair or glasses-wearers!) I borrowed a cheap, ordinary iron and was surprised by its performance – so much easier and far less noisy.
I bit the bullet and splashed out on this little beauty and ironing has become a lot less frustrating.
The iron is not a lightweight, but it’s easy to fill, easy to empty and glides through creases with ease.
I have not had it for long, so cannot comment on its longevity, but would recommend its performance.
No problems, enjoyable to use (well, depends on wether you like ironing or not!). Seems like good value. I had a Bosch before this — fine except that it dropped off the ironing board and that was that. Hopefully I won’t drop this one or, if I do, it will still work.
This iron does a great job and you can get through a pile of ironing with little effort. The temperature setting is clear and easily changed through the ironing session to accommodate all different materials. The shape of the sole plate makes getting into awkward corners easy and it is a really efficient iron.
The iron is a tiny bit on the heavy side especially for a lady, picking the iron up and placing it on its end becomes tiring to the wrist after a mornings ironing.
It is a nice product, just hope it lasts.
Thank you.
I’m very pleased with this iron. There are so many different kinds of iron these days, so I just chose the simple one with “Amazon’s choice”. I’m so glad to have bought this one. It’s very quick to be ready to be used, nicely slides on materials, it doesn’t make much calc, and easy to clean. It’s easy to control the temperature, which is quickly adjusted. These are all said in the product details, but I’m still impressed to find these details make me happy when I use it. Thank you Philips.
I bought this iron after looking at reviews in WHICH Magazine. It is a great iron, however, it is heavier to lift and use than I thought it would be. I am getting used to it!
However, on the positive side, it is relatively light for a premium iron (it cost about 76, so not cheap!); the soleplate does glide more easily over fabrics than the previous model; the water spray button is better positioned than the previous model and therefore far easier to use; the steam control switch, in particular, is better positioned and less likely (than on the previous model) to be switched off or into eco mode accidentally, and this iron has a removable calc-clean filter.
On the negative side, I find that the shot of steam feature is a bit hit and miss, i.e. it doesn’t always seem to work consistently.
However as always with these types of appliance, reliability and longevity are key, and therefore only time will tell whether this was a good purchase. Before buying my last Philips iron, I had a Bosch, which although wasn’t perfect in some respects, did last over 7 years before failing.
EDIT: Despite my initial hopes.and enthusiam, this iron failed after less than 2 years. It developed what I believe to have been an internal short circuit. This meant that each time I used it, the circuit breaker for the ground floor power sockets in my house tripped, thus killing the power to everything plugged in to that circuit, which was both irritating and disappointing. As this is the 2nd Philips Iron I have had to return within 2 years of purchase, I won’t be purchasing any more Philips irons. After returing the Philips to Amazon I replaced it with a Tefal iron, so fingers crossed for a better outcome this time!
I bought this Philips steam iron to replace a similar, more expensive model that failed after only 5 months’ use, so I’m warey of giving this one a 5 star review after only having used it for a month or so.

Now I am a fussy ironer and this is brilliant – it is not the highest out there but it can iron and it is such a great price. the steam function is consistent and you really do not need much pressure for the clothes to become wrinkle free – well worth the money
I’m basically a tech nerd and want the best of things so why not go for the best iron with lots of tech in it as it were. The removable piece at the bottom to get out the limescale is a very nice feature if you live in a hard water area. Its all very complicated iron but its does what it does and very well indeed. Recommended for sure as my work shirts looked very crisp afterwards
This is a great iron by Philips and works extremely well on all its settings. I would say that the reservoir is a good size and it doesn’t take long at all to warm up. It has a calc collector to keep residue off of clothes and keeps the iron functioning as it should. I would say that it was worth the money and feels well made, it certainly makes the dreaded ironing a little more tolerable that’s for sure.
Very happy with the iron; it was bought at a sale price otherwise very expensive. It’s heavy so be warned but adds to the efficiency of the ironing process. Definitely would recommend.
The iron came quickly, ordered on Sunday in locker by Monday. The iron is well made and nothing like the new lightweight models on the market. Beware though if you have issues with your wrists it may not suit you. The iron performed well although I thought steam could be better( perhaps that’s because I’ve used a steam generator iron for a while now). The only slight niggle was the cord it kind of got in the way. Overall ironing performance was good.
I usually write detailed reviews but really nothing to write about here. It’s a Philips Azure and it’s brilliant as usual. My 14 years old Azure died lately not of old age but due to repetitive air carrier abuse. I learned my lesson and bought a much cheaper low range Azure to take on my flights. Wife can’t be happier as well, and for 37 it’s a real steal.
Just a little mad the sole plate came slightly scratched, but I won’t take stars for that. Would definitely recommend.
We had a Philips Azur iron before and this one is the same high quality. Plenty of steam and glides on the clothes easy. Not too heavy or too light. It did not include a filling mug any more though hence lucky we still have the old one. It also does not have the cleaning mode like the last one. Still happy with it though.
I think this is the best Phillips iron I’ve had and I’ve had a few over the years! The last one I had was a cheaper Phillips which had the ceramic sole plate that from day one was dreadful, it would burn and stick and was impossible to clean, I kept moaning about it but thought I would wait for it to go wrong which they normally do after a couple of years at the most, but it didn’t! In the end because this one was in the Black Friday sale I decided enough was enough, wish I’d changed it sooner, it’s sooo much better! Only slight negative is that it’s quite heavy but otherwise it’s very smooth, doesn’t stick or burn and irons well.
I brought this for a change to see how good it is against my Bosch iron. Its lighter but not so good on steam. But all the same a lovely iron. Not too heavy to use.
What a pleasure to use. Gets creases out of shirts with ease thanks to the high volume of steam.
Simply the best iron I have ever owned or used! – no setting to worry about, fantastic steam pressure, good weight and size – Ironing has suddenly become less of a chore!
I found this iron heavier than the previous azure iron I had. Even with a shot of steam ironing creases out of cotton shirts does not give a great finish. Difficult to see water levels when filling and no jug included with the product. I will stick with it and see if I can get a better finish with trying different ways of ironing those shirts. Maybe do them first when iron seems hotter.
3 in total
Great water resivior, with regard the steam you really do have to press quite hard on the button to activate additional steam, on the unit I received there is a certain amount of surplus water that does come from the steam trigger button..
An excellent iron, easy to use and gives very good ironing results. Our previous Azur iron enabled us to remove calcium and other deposits by holding down a button and shaking the iron. This operation has been discontinued which is a pity because although awkward to use it was very successful in removing large amounts of debris left in the iron after use in our hard water area. The actual calcium collector was of little use. Subsequently I don’t expect this iron to last as long as our previous iron.
Heats up quickly, loads of steam, very stylish.
Only 2 issues are, it is expensive and needs filling up a lot.
Still the best iron I’ve ever had.
The 2600W packs a powerful action and that steam really does make your ironing faster and easier.
Let me explain.
Many people, especially on a budget, tend to go for cheaper irons. That is understandable BUT you are far better off spending a little more and getting firstly a steam iron and one with some power,
Why it simply means you don’t have to constantly iron and re-iron the same spot twice or sometimes three times to get the same effect that iron delivers first time.
Talking of spots where this iron really gets top marks is it’s anti-calc properties.
We, like half the country live in a hard water area.
Hard water means limescale. Lots of irons I have used in the past have deposit spots of limescale on my fresh ironing.
This device has a simple mechanism that takes just 15 seconds to operate to dispose of the collected limescale.
(In saying that a tip is to use the water recovered from a dehumidifier if you have one- the water is free from limescale or even use the ice from your fridge or freezer the later is a faff I admit)
The plate is one of those really smooth actions that allows you to sail through your ironing in a third of the time.
Now I noticed that my fellow reviewers were so impressed that they bought an identical model BUT only paid 56 and not the current 73 at the time of writing.
Why the massive price Hike? I have no idea. 56 would be a fairer price to my mind.
Why should you get this more expensive iron?
If you do quite a bit of ironing it will lesson the time and make it easier.
The steam action allows you to smooth harder to iron clothes easier and with less effort.
The iron has a lot of power.
I hope this helps you make a decision on which iron to buy.
This is a good iron with plenty of power.
