Ok
This has transformed our indoors this summer, we’ve even named him Coolio Best thing we ever bought as our flat gets overheated and stuffy but this has changed all of that! 100% advise buying 1 for yourself, he’s quiet and hardworking and no need to feed him, just plug him in and Boosh, cool air We love him.
Very happy
Cools my small 1 bedroom flat lovely, I have only tried cold water atm will try with ice when it gets hotter in august. 10x better than any fan! I think it’s relatively quiet compared to similar products I’ve seen in the past, early days but very happy!
Perfect for bedroom at nigh
While not quite as good as an air-con unit, it is much better than a fan! We really notice a difference and have slept much better on the hot and sticky nights thanks to this. Would recommend.
Has really helped in the hea
Not an air conditioner but so much better than a fan. Probably a little too loud to have on all night and sleep with, but it has been wonderful in the heat during the day to cool the room and the family.
Was looking for a cheaper alternative to installing an air con unit. Wasn’t too sure at first and read reviews and considered alternatives. Decided on this one and do not regret it. Use it in the bedroom and carry downstairs when needed. On all night and keeps the room cool all night. Wife moaned at first when it got delivered but now will not sleep without it!! If your considering air cooling units then this is the one to buy.
We have an elderly dog with a thick coat. Hot weather is potentially fatal so we bought one of these! Perfect in every way and great value. Compact size and on wheels for moving anywhere. Incredibly efficient and adding ice packs makes a difference so I bought more for a constant supply. We have an energy meter and noticed no change in usage, in fact on all day. We have a chilled room for all to enjoy. So good I bought my Daughter and her Cat one.
Total life saver during the heat waves in our flat as aircon wasn’t possible. Works really well and requires new water every day.
Needs a clean and can be a bit smelly but I think I wouldve died without this in our room during the summer so I’d buy a new one every year if necessary whilst living in this flat.
Effective in a small area
I bought this as a refurb unit. It arrived before the expected date (which was great). It looked to me as brand new. Works perfectly and very easy to use. Not yet used the remote control to a point I feel I could comment on it but seems to work fine. My daughter can now get to sleep in these hot evenings. It doesn’t chill the water you put in, but 2 small ice packs come supplied that do the job. I have also used ice in the container which work well too.
The dog loves it.
Love this portable air conditioning unit.
Its been a godsend with the heat in the UK.
Only down side is that its quite noisy if you have it on during the night.
Life save
This air cooler really saved me during the heatwave where it got to 40c a few weeks ago.
I bought it a week before and it was perfect. It wasn’t too noisy, nor was it too difficult to set up and get working!
One issue was that after having it on all day it made the room very humid & if you aren’t directly within the air flow coming out then it won’t cool the room.
It’s a big fan with that actually shoots out cold air. If you want an air con this isn’t what you’re looking for. But it will keep you cool if you are next to it!
A decent fan, don’t expect air con levels of cooling
Bought this just over a month ago in preparation for a possible hot summer and I wanted something more than a bog standard fan but without spending a fortune on AC. This turned out to be a reasonable half way house.
I first tried it out on a couple of warm nights, the fan is powerful and not as noisy as my old one, and I loved the remote control function. The addition of water and ice/ice packs makes a subtle difference that I didn’t immediately notice but after an hour or so I did feel cooler.
As others have noted, removing the drawer to fill it with water is fiddly and detaching the pump is not immediately straightforward. I did have to study the instructions (one diagram!) and have a few practice goes before trying it with water in. More detailed instructions would help with this. But once I figured it out it was quite straightforward.
The real test for the unit came with the heat wave earlier this week. All I can say is, it did it’s best! The addition of water meant that it wasn’t just blowing around hot air like a traditional fan but it wasn’t cold air either. I’ve definitely had worse nights but it was still uncomfortable.
Overall, better than a regular fan and I am pleased with my purchase – it’s a reasonable halfway house between a standard fan and an AC. If you are thinking of buying one set your expectations appropriately and you’ll be fine.
Powerful fa
I didn’t have high expectations having bought a similar fan last year but this one is great. It’s powerful, easy to move about and not too noisy. In the current heatwave (Uk) the room it was in was the coolest even with fans in other rooms. The ice blocks don’t seem to make any difference to the cool air but it still does blow cool air around with water in. All of the pets congregated in front of it yesterday – hottest day on record. Would definitely recommend.
