Perfectly good basic toaster. Curiously overpriced for one that has neither music nor lights.
Fancy price right now for what seems a good but basic toaster to me.
I don’t score it down on price as that could change, but it does have minor shortcomings.

It takes pretty fat slices and so accommodates thick items like scones.
And it has a ‘bagel’ setting to only toast using the inside panels, to preserve a cold bottom.

But with small diameter scones, it doesn’t lift high up enough to remove them and I use wooden implements to fish them out (no, not a metal fork). My mum turns it upside down and shakes it.
It would obvs be better if it lifted your items up higher for removal.

The numbers on the dial are difficult to see.
It has a defrost setting which I’ve never used on any toaster.
It has no warming rack which would be nice -to take the edge off your vegan sossidge rolls etc.
Has the standard slide-out crumb tray, nothing groundbreaking.

Some of the purchase price must go on the daft packaging.. it comes with a travel-type drawstring sack PLUS an inner bag. Just the box would be enough.
Despite the over-packaging, mine arrived with both the cages popped out of their guides. Got them back in OK but curious.

See my pics of the toasting results.. tea cake came out nice with gentle banding.
For more research, I thought I’d do the aforementioned scones. Passed the butter melting test. Yummy.

Perfectly usable toaster once you’ve released it from all the packaging.
But not really safe for small items like scones as getting them out breaks all the safety rules.

yes a very well made and finished toaster. on full power,it takes about 3 minutes. smells a bit at first,
then its ok. take it outside first to burn it in. its over priced, its the name your paying for…. but its well
pleasing to look at, so buy one, and you will like it too.

    Exquisite
Honestly no toaster I ever owned compares to this Rangemaster toaster. I got it for free as an Amazon Vine reviewer but for the quality of this toaster, the price is worth it. I get the same evenly toasted bread every time. Without fault. It looks amazing and is very well build. Easy to clean as well. If you have the money I would recommend you invest jn this toaster. Comes with 2 years warranty as well.

As I bought this as part of a Christmas present for our daughter, I can say that she loves it and was amazed that it came with its own dust bag so she was really impressed so thank you to all concerned.

    Evenly toasted bread
I fell for the design of this toaster initially, and then read the reviews, which were very good. I like the fact that it is a British make, so replacement parts are available. It comes with a 2 year guarantee which we extended to 3 by registering the purchase with Rangemaster.

Most important, it is very simple to use and produces evenly browned toast. So all round, it has been a success in our house.

    Quick Reviews!
We all know you can pick up any old toaster for a fraction of the price of this thing, but maybe you don’t want any old toaster; maybe you want the only one which fits with the exact dcor of your kitchen, one which will look sleek alongside all of the other utensils you use to make the neighbours jealous when you invite them over for a candlelight supper. The Rangemaster may be for you – after all, it is the master of its range.

To be fair, this is built considerably more solidly than most toasters I’ve used, and it does look beautiful. It’s smooth to the touch and remains cool during and after the breakfast run. I have become used to a four way toaster, so if you’re in a rush you might want to look for something different as this only allows the traditional double slice. There are plenty of heat and speed settings, including a defrost option and one specific for bagels. If you’re brave enough to cram a bagel in there (they do fit once sliced), you should know that it does come with an easily removable crumb tray. I’ve had crumb trays which are too flimsy or get stuck when you try to pull them out, causing said crumbs to fall all over the worktop, but I’ve had no issues on that front with the Rangemaster. It’s a great toaster if you have deep enough pockets.

All Toasters Are NOT Created Equal
Quit fussing about the price and buy it. Built like a tank, with beautiful lines and finishes like a sports car. Toasts beautifully with all the functions needed and not a bunch of nonsense you don’t need. Fits long and wide slices of various breads. Best toaster I’ve ever owned.

The most Serious Toaster I have ever owned!
At 149.99 this is NOT your cheap 20, 2 slice toaster. Having got a Rangemaster Oven, and Hood I wanted to complete the set, and this is a very serious toaster. It’s NOT for those looking for a basic toaster, instead those that want to toast in Style!

It has 6 variable browning levels that can be set separately on either side (2 slices per side) so you can make 2 sets of differently browned toast at the same time. As well as a handy defrost setting. Several people have already commented on this beauty, as it is not your average toaster.

    Toasting in style! 🙂

    Expensive toaster. Hope it lasts.
We have had a Dualit toaster that is now 37 years old. This has displaced it. It now sits in the toaster position in the kitchen where it has been serving up toast for over a month. It works brilliantly. It takes some toaster to displace the former, but this has the advantages. It’s reasonably quick, it takes four slices, it accommodates different thicknesses and different types of things to toast. It pops up when done.
As with most premium products, it arrives in secure packaging and is presented beautifully. First there’s a black bag, then a white and finally you get to the toaster. (See pics 1-3).
The toaster itself is a cream colour in this case. It has a slightly odd curved fascia at the top which contrives to give it a vague retro look. Controls are shiny metal items on the whole. There’s a selection of buttons for different functions and the two knobs for controlling the temperature.
From cold, on setting four and taking around three minutes, the toast in pic five was created. Had we wanted to, we could have pressed the temperature button and interrupted the toasting process. You might want to keep an eye on the toaster as it’s quicker when you’ve done a few slices. Compared to other four slice toasters I have had, this is much quicker.
The top gets very hot. You’ll burn your fingers if you touch it right after. This means that if you are toasting smaller items (Crumpets for example) you will need to use the lifting mechanism to gain a bit more height and be very careful. The top heating was almost enough to drop a star.
Toasting is fairly uniform unless something is very close to the top, and uniform across all four stations.
The older toaster had the advantage that it was (and is) still repairable; I wonder if this will be the same? For 150 I’d hope that we would be together for some time. The build quality is good but not super heavy duty and it remains to be seen how daily use affects the finish. Whether or not it’s worth the “Rangemaster” logo and the price tag I’ll leave to you. I thought it was good.

    Great Purchase
Superb quality – as to be expected from any Rangemaster product! I love their new kitchen range and both kettle and toaster look great in my new kitchen. Very happy to find this product on Amazon to save me buying from the aga cook shop saving on delivery time and cost.

    Toaste
Love this toaster, always gives great results getting my toast exactly how I like it. Bagel mode is excellent, cooking one side and warming the other. It can also be lifted mid cycle to check toast without cancelling the cycle. Easy to use.

    Expensive but well made toaste
First thing to be clear about is that you don’t have to pay this much for a toaster. However, if you like kitchen equipment with a touch of luxury and pride of ownership then this is very good. Made from nice materials and well finished it has a premium feel. This is a toaster, it’s the sort of product that should just work, and this does just that. Gives a good, even toasted slice of bread. Overall it’s the sort of product you will buy because you want it, if you do want it then you’re unlikely to be disappointed.

May not be ideal for breadmaker bread, but otherwise excelle
This is a very good toaster indeed – in my opinion, favourably comparable to my faithful Dualit toaster. I have two toasters, one for gluten-free bread, but I have been using the Rangemaster with “normal” bread. The results have been excellent.

Firstly, there are a few things to be aware of. The lettering on the browning control, which is black on silver, is hard to read. The bread trays are not very tall, so you need to put tall slices in sideways (which works fine); however, if you get square slices from your breadmaker, they won’t really fit in this toaster. If you toast slices of a relatively flat loaf, such as a Waitrose Grand Pain, you need to put two in each slot so they stand vertically: if you put just one slice in a slot, it’s quite hard to get them out without turning off the electricity and poking a wooden spoon handle into the tray. And it’s not as quick at toasting as the Dualit toaster: I find myself waiting for the toast to pop when my tea is ready.

However, on the credit side, the toaster gives really good, evenly browned slices of toast. You can sometimes make out the five bars of the elements, but it’s a marginal effect. You can lift the handle half-way through toasting to check on progress, and you can also use this to lift the toast to make it easier to reach when the toasting is done. The “pop” when the cycle is complete is gentle: there’s no risk of the toast flying out. The cancel button is (like the Dualit) on the end of the browning knob, but it benefits from being illuminated. There are selectors for defrost, reheat and bagels. Defrost (and I must admit, I hadn’t realised this before) will defrost and toast the slices for you, and do it extremely well with this toaster. Reheat gives a short pulse of heat to the toast – it is quite gentle (warming waffles takes two “reheat” cycles). Bagels toasts on one side, a common feature on toasters. You can toast quite thick hunks of bread.

The top of the toaster very sensibly has no crevices for crumbs to get caught in, and the crumb tray, though narrow (and a little hard to remove) seems to catch all the falling crumbs, which are deflected into it by sloping steel surfaces inside the toaster. It’s a good idea to empty it at least once per week, before the crumbs get crispy and stick to the plate. There’s a very sensible cable-tidy under the toaster, which allows the cable to be shortened – although if you want to use the strain-relief hook, there are really only two options for cable length. The choice of available colours is pleasantly muted, and has an Edwardian feel to it.

The toaster is made under license from the people who own the Rangemaster brand, and forms part of a range of small kitchen appliances. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it.

    Great Toaste
Fancied this to go in our new kitchen to go with our new Rangemaster cooker, initially thought it very expensive for a toaster, however bit the bullet when the price dropped saving 50. To be honest it’s the best toaster I have ever used, consistently giving great results the exact colour I like slice after slice and looks great to!

    Stunning!
I’m in awe of this toaster – it’s stunning! Wow! I didn’t think I’d ever say something like that about a kitchen appliance, but here it is.
This is one good looking toaster, from now on I’ll be buying cream appliances to go with the toaster – up until now I’ve overlooked cream but it looks so good. It’s got a much classier look.
Back to the toaster and the important bits – does it toast? The answer to that is YES, it makes lovely toast that’s evenly browned on both sides. Too often one side of bread gets more toasting than the other but not with the Rangemaster – a perfect slice of toast pops up. There’s timers at the front of the toaster to select your perfect browning. There’s corresponding controls for both the left side and right side so you can either toast 2 or 4 slices at a time and get the same perfect results. The 4 slice is brilliant for family use especially in the mornings when everyone is rushing to get to school and work.
There is also a push button to widen for bagels but it also works great toasting buns.
The cable tidy underneath the toaster stops cable looking untidy on the worktop, it neatly winds underneath the toaster so only the cable you need to reach the socket can be seen.
I love the look and overall quality of this toaster, the added chrome on the switches is a nice feature. It’s an expensive toaster but I can’t deny that it does look special.
There’s a 2 year manufacturers guarantee as standard but you can have an extra year if you register within 28 days of purchase giving you a total of 3 years guarantee for free. All details and information can be found in the packaging with the toaster.

It’s hard to get excited about looking for, buying, using or reviewing a toaster. After all it’s a pretty basic device.

It’s quite expensive as far as toasters go, but it looks great and works well, hopefully it will last!

    Very consistent.
EDIT – one week later and the toaster is only toasting on one side. Made sure bagel setting isn’t on so think it must be broken. Will be contacting manufacturers for advice.

Original Review – The toaster is ideal for doing two slices at a time, and toasts them evenly. It takes some experimenting to get the right setting for different kinds of bread, but once you have set it , the results are consistent.
The Matt black finish is very smart, and fits into my kitchen well.

    Has a sturdy desig
Vertical type with a truly captivating vintage design. The colour is gray and the style of the product is elegant and will fit best in kitchens with a sober taste.
The maximum power stands at the value of 1000 Watts.
The instrument has 6 browning levels, which can be selected using the side knob.
It will be possible to toast, reheat and defrost the slices of bread.
It is equipped with 2 slots for the simultaneous insertion of slices of bread. There is also an automatic ejection function at the end of roasting.
The removable crumb tray ensures easy cleaning and the lower cable compartment allows you to store it in small spaces.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Usersokay but no special feature requiring the high price bracke
Dont get me wrong , this is a lovely, quality toaster, well built and solid, and very attractive and screams reliability.. but my toast still came out, the same as it does with all other toasters, some in the cheapest price range, not toasted on one side!..

The toast in the pic was regular white bread cooked on a 5 setting, i now use a 4 because i dont like even the slightest burnt taste to my toast , but my mum loved burnt toast so i guess its personal choice lol.
This toaster does look like it will last for years and so i suppose the price could relate to that, i can only hope that one day somebody somwhere will create a toaster that toasts the WHOLE piece of bread!.. lol.

    Would recommend on build

    Quality and nice size toaste
    Good large size toaster.

This is perfect for our family for 4 as we all eat toast in the morning.

The toaster is for 4 slices at once so we can all have one before making more.

Nice design toaster from a good brand.

The toasts comes out tanned just the way I like it.

An excellent toaster with lots of space for tall and wide bread. Would have given 5 stars but over one hundred pounds for a toaster is a bit steep. Then again, i would buy again.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSuper quick to heat up and well buil
This is a very well presented and built toaster as would be expected for both the price and make. The toaster comes bagged and boxed and has a really nice matt black and chrome finish. The dial and buttons are plastic and push down lever metal. I have a Dualit toaster and this Rangemaster is pretty much instant to heat up compared with my older toaster that takes about 10 seconds for the elements to fully glow on both sides. The video attached shows just how quickly it gets hot from the lever being pushed down. It is a super toaster with a good even browning and quick, so you get a nice crisp outer and soft inner on toasted thick bread.

It has all the important features, such as lift to check, bagel, defrost, cancel and the additional reheat not often included. The power cord to UK plug is 1m long if you exist the cable from the rear of the toaster. It does have slots for the flex to run from the sides as well but this will reduce the length, as well as clips to wrap the flex to shorten it. No beeps or sounds just a simple click dial to set the different time setting. A slide out crumb tray as usual. The slot sizes are 15cm wide, 2.8cm thickness and about 12cm of depth up to the top of the heating elements (obviously toast any height can be put in but you would need to flip it to toast the part sticking out). My only slight criticism is the chrome top sits slightly indented on the top so cleaning any crumbs off the top is not as easy as it would be if the rim around the top wasn’t there.

With a 2 year warranty (option to add a 3rd year free by registering), I would expect at this price point for it to last a lot longer. I have only dropped a star as at the time of writing this review the 2 slice toaster is 130, which if you compare to the Rangemaster 4 slice at 150 the 2 slice seems high as only 20 less, so if you have the space and often toast more than 2 slices the four slice is better value.

    Very high quality well-made toaste
The price tag is chunky but, in return, you get a beautifully made toaster that looks lovely, is easy to use and works quickly and efficiently. The dials make it easy to adjust the timings (3 out of 6 is more than enough for toasting standard bread); the only word of caution is that it’s a fairly big device, so check the dimensions carefully to make sure it will fit nicely on your kitchen work surface.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe best toaster i've used
This toaster is quite expensive at first glance but if I pay a lot for something I’ll expect great things. This toaster meets that requirement for me. It’s incredibly well-built, the solid design feels really durable.

All the leavers are made from some kind of metal unlike most other plastic ones found elsewhere.
It’s also fully loaded with features from the “lift and look” to all the other essential ones like defrost, crumb trays, cancel and browning levels.

Now as for the most important part of the toaster, it makes it very well and tastes great.
It’s honestly one of the best toasters i’ve used. Would absolutely recommend.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersA real case of 'you get what you pay for'...
and you pay a lot, relative to many other toasters, but this is basically a tank, the Mercedes of toasters to be honest – it is built to last and when I say built, I mean really built.
All of the buttons and levers and the rest of it that look like metal are very solid actual metal and not plasticky, and they move with a clear action and no messing around, and the rest of it feels like it might be the only thing still standing if my house exploded.
There are lots of useful features in it, as you’d expect for the money, but the main thing is that it does make great toast (and it defrosts and re-heats really well, and has a very handy removable crumb tray).
If you want a toaster that will probably outlive you, whatever your age, then this is it.
