The customer care team just went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with my screen. I am absolutely stunned!! 5 star!

The build quality and accessories are very good. Running the display at 1280 x 720 with a HDMI 1080 x 1920 input produces the best resolution / detail. But the display has issues and these all relate to cooling when using a Rpi 4. The built-in 12v fan is too noisy, but this can be improved by powering it from the 5v GPI pins on the Rpi, the drop in fan speed at 5v still moves enough cooling air and the noise level becomes significantly lower. The larger problem is the heat generated by the Rpi 4, my solution is to use whole of board finned heatsink, it still gets hot at a max 50C but stops the Rpi 4 from throttling. The back cover then does not fit the case as the heatsink extends too far.
So in conclusion, a good display/case for a Rpi 3. But you will need to invest some time and fit the right heatsink to keep a Rpi 4 cool (under 55C) and then except the back of the case will be difficult to fit. For other none Rpi 4 allocations, there are much cheaper alternatives that will work as well for HDMI inputs and display video or a computer outputs.

This is a case with fan, PSU, IPS touchscreen and a pair of speakers for a Raspberry Pi 3 or Pi 4 (with fittings included for both), which makes it great value.

Assembly is easy, I’d advise you first to read through the section for your model of pi before you start, though, as the manual is not totally clear first time round. Assembly takes only a few minutes, and the touchscreen connects either via an internal soldered connection (only three wires, very clearly pictured in the manual) or a wire which comes out of the case and plugs into one of the Pi’s USB connectors.

    When first powered up:
    – the display was in 1920*1080 mode, rather than the native 1024*600, so the image was the wrong aspect ratio and text & icons too small to be of much use on a 7″ touchscreen
    – there was no sound from the loudspeakers
Display fix, add the following to /boot/config.txt:
    hdmi_cvt=1024 600 60 3 0 0 0
Sound fix: check sound to HDMI is enabled on the Pi desktop, then make sure /boot/config.txt includes the following two lines:
    hdmi_group=1
    hdmi_drive=2

The fan is quite loud, it can be turned off using the monitor’s menu – but when I did that, my Pi 3 overheated – installing a large heatsink fixed it, but I suspect with a Pi 4 you probably need the fan running.

    In use, the positives:
    – the screen is bright enough for everyday use, has a wide field of view and is sharp.
    – the touchscreen is accurate and responsive.
    – the audio is loud enough to be heard easily in normal environments (though it’s not hifi).
    – good access to USB ports and Ethernet connector.
    – WiFi and Bluetooth both work.

    The limitations:
    – no access to micro SD, camera connector, GPIO, DSI, second monitor out, 3.5mm audio out.

In conclusion, good value and a good piece of kit for a standalone Raspberry Pi (I’m using it to control other stuff via a web browser, it’s great for that). Benefits from a heatsink, and you might like to put the OS on a memory stick.

Put the SD card in before screwing Pi down. You can get SD card in/out when Pi is fitted to case, but fiddly.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat product except two niggles…

The HDMI and USB connectors from the Pi to the board of the unit were fiddly. I had nothing working, then no power, then no HDMI, lots of playing around till I got it working.

Also the length of the power lead is just too short, another 500mm would be great.

It does what it says, adds a nice tounchscreen to your PI.

Oh, also the wi-fi on the Piis completely blocked by the case! Either use an external wi-fi dongle, or a network cable.

06/01/22 – Wi-fi was just an update away 🙂 Also very good customer service has helped me resovle my iossues.

    Very easy to install.
Very good quality and works perfectly.
The only thing I don’t like is the fan which because of it’s speed makes a noise which annoys me. This is not a defect and the fan is not loud…it’s just the constant wind noise I don’t like.
I would highly recommend this product.

Golden Review Award: 41 From Our UsersThis is a great screen for an all in one raspberry pi. Wasn’t what I needed for my project so returned for the screen without the housing. If using for a pi tablet this would be perfect but I needed access to the second hdmi port that this didn’t offer, not manufacturers fault.

Golden Review Award: 39 From Our UsersAbsolutely love this monitor. Not only was it easy to connect a Pi4 internally, but I can also hook it up to my micro pc. Going to be very useful when it comes to travelling and being able to work from, and then playing some classic games in my downtime. Fantastic picture quality, and clear sound. Sat and watched a whole movie on it last night… Faultless!

Golden Review Award: 38 From Our UsersI purchased this model because I wanted a combined screen and housing for my Pi 4, and wanted the solution to be powered by just one source (the EVICIV case is powered by 12v supply, and drops this to 5v to power your Raspberry Pi – so no need for an separate power supply for your Pi). I also liked that the screen has a vertical resolution of 600 rows which is better than many other 7″ screens which have only 480 rows of pixels.

The instructions and very clear and well written, and the accessories provided are excellent quality. I think the screen quality is good too. Happy with my purchase.

Golden Review Award: 27 From Our UsersI’ve been using mine to play games in bed, I rest it on my chest. I have had no problems, you need to remember to turn the little switch on the mainboard to the right setting when setting it all up.

Fan is not loud, but not quiet either. It keeps my pi 4 8gb cool enough under fair load. You can turn it on and off at any time. You have enough clearance for a very low profile heatsink and maybe fan on the pi itself, I’d say 2cm, maybe a fraction less to be safe. The inbuilt fan provides sufficient airflow though.

The screen itself does get some very temporary burn in if you leave stuff in the same place for a long time. I don’t consider it an issue though.

Touchscreen feels responsive and nice. Screen colours are very good, contrast is good, feels like using a high end tablet.

I would certainly recommend this for a simple, robust, highly functional, effective solution.

Golden Review Award: 33 From Our UsersTIP: this has a plastic screen protector that you need to remove.
TIP: it is compatible with all versions of pi, just change the supplied components to your board.

I bought this as part of an upgrade to my raspberry pi jukebox machine.

It is directly connected to my music system yet to use it I needed to turn my large tv on, which is energy wasteful when I just want to listen to music.

Id seen the small screens before but I just didn’t want an additional item cluttering my entertainment centre.

I found this and it’s perfect.

Benefits:. The case and screen are all in one compact unit which you can then place on your music system. When it is powered on, it’s looks pretty cool and if you have a wireless system like me, it’s portable, so great for parties.

It’s easy to setup, just install your raspberry pi inside, no additional setting up, if your pi is already good to go.

The screen is very crisp and bright and the responsiveness is great.

    I’m really pleased.

Perfect for home jukebox, automation systems

Golden Review Award: 48 From Our UsersThis raspberry Pi monitor adapted PCAP touch screen diplay with 10 point touch screen takes it to different level than standard monitors. Screen resolution 1024 x 600 and has wide viewing angle.
It has build in twin speakers which quite good quality, however can be replaced if with to have your own.
Came with extra signal inlet adapters , can be changed if needed depending from project or purpose of purchase. It came with pre build HDMI and type C connectors.
Overall considering it came with extra adapters and build in speakers it great value for quality provided.
Have a look my pictures of interior of monitor , hope this will be helpful to decide if it’s suitable for personal needs or not.

    Raspberry Pi 4 and 3b+

Golden Review Award: 25 From Our UsersA few things to note… you will need to provide a Raspberry Pi 3B+ or Raspberry Pi 4 as these aren’t provided. Also, you will need a micro SD card with Raspberry Pi OS loaded onto it – this is easy enough to do. Google it and you will find the option to download the image installer which will load it straight onto there.

Provided with the monitor are a power adapter, some cables, screws, a screwdriver and importantly, a 3-pin touch cable, which you will need if you plan on using the screen as a touch screen. I had some fun with this(!!) but thankfully the provided instructions are clear to follow. There are two ways to install the touch cable – one way is to simply plug it into the RPi’s USB port and the other part into the monitor board but this then means that a USB port on the Pi is used up and the cable shows – and I have a particular OCD about messy cables so I went with option two, which was to use a soldering iron and solder the wire to the board directly. It was easy.

Once this is done you are ready to use the monitor. It should turn on and boot in seconds. Add it to your WiFi network and then any updates on it can download and run. In the provided video I show that the touch screen works well. I do recommend a stylus though for anybody that has big fingers, like I do. Also, you might notice that the fans sound loud in the video but this is due to me not putting the case back together as I wanted to make sure that the RPi worked inside it – it does run a lot quieter.

Currently, I am just using it as a standalone RPi with built-in screen but via the supplied cables it can be connected up to laptops and smartphones (Android or iPhone). Overall, I highly recommend this. The picture is beautiful and the buttons around the monitor all serve a purpose and are easy to use. Just be prepared to have to put a bit of work in first.

    Great quality monito

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersGot it tto get pi4 in it to control various things around my house but I have few ideas in my head. To monitor 3D printer wirelessly including camera and temp sensor. My pi coming soon but the screen itself is very good quality, very well done piece of technology, everything looks well fit and well designed. I can’t wait to install my pi4. Screen angles are good as well. I’ll update the review soon after getting pi4 installed.
