Whilst not a premium brand I find Ryobi are a good balance of cost ans functionality for a home DIYer like myself. The circular saw makes quick progress of a fencing project probably saving me a few hours in this one job alone.
The interchangeable battery doesn’t come with this unit but are quick to charge and again suit DIY projects rather than professional usage.
One battery does it all
Great wee tool and has helped out with cutting the decking boards long ways that the chopping saw can’t do.
easy to put together and with the laser guide you cant go wrong, another great Ryobi tool added to my collectio
Great tool for price
Great tool easy to use. Maybe need a couple of battery’s as found I have used it for small jobs and battery has ran out.
What an ace bit of kit...Great while it lasted
OK< so I have had this eleven months and then today, smoke, noise, - dead I come on here to make a comment and would you adam and eve it. Tim - Just below me has had the same problem. Off to get mine replaced. Until it died, a great little unit.
Fantastic bit of ki
This is the best circular saw i have ever used its lightweight, comfortable and lasts a long time on a single charge i have never had a circular saw that worked so well.
I highly recommend this saw the laser guide is a very nice touch too if you want the best without a large price tag this is the one.
Stunning performance for a cordless
This ripped through 40mm worktop like it was butter, and as a pro kitchen installer I like to think I know about these things. It is light and so easy to set. I’m not sure about battery life yet but if the other tools I have then it should be great. I’ve only had it for a short time so I cant comment on blade life yet, but what I will say is – if you need a cordless circ for, maybe, more than occasional use, then this is the one
Perfec
Great circular saw lazer line when u touch the trigger and it’s cuts nice too all round good tool
Great value
This is such great value for money
I had a Makita that cost considerably more which broke after 18months
I’ve had 2 years, about 15 blades later, 2 kitchens, 3 bathrooms, 4 sheds, fences, decking etc etc
Id say better than a diy tool
Great ryobi tool
Bought as a gift for my hubby he does love his ryobi tools looks tiny but it does a great job and plenty of run time on a full charge
Easy to use
Light and ease to use. Gets stuck on ocassion but may be due to not using original ryobi battery
This cuts a dream
My old one was good, this works just as well if not better and has a laser line marker to make keeping on line even easier. Not having a cable makes such a difference so this is my go to circular saw.
works well
it is very good tool that’s why I got another one
Would recommend.
Great tool; light powerful and accurate. I swapped the blade for a Makita one for a cleaner cut.
Diy
Battery life not very good, soon lacks power ok for light diy
Sega circolare a batteria
Sheets only
Great little saw. Not up to cutting huge pieces of wood but good for sheet work
mobile saw
My son was over the moon with this he is very hands on and does wonderful capentry
A very good tool
The saw does exactly what is required and with a 4 or 5 Ah battery copes well with 22mm plywood.
another great tool
Another great tool from Ryobi. Bought as a Christmas present for partner as is building up a set of Ryobi tools and he is very happy with it. loves the laser guide light. For see many hours of use .
Use a good battery
Ideal saw needs a good battery, don’t push the saw, just feed it slowly and it will do what its supposed to do and gives a good straight clean cut, lazer beam guidance. Recommended
Brilliant Value
Does what it says and it is really a very handy saw and very pleased with i
This product has been a godsend! Having recladded my barn with 19mm larch (9″ wide hardwood boards and up to 3.8m long) this portable 18v saw has been excellent! The previous reviews were mixed but from my own experience, cutting through 9″ planks, down 19mm hard wood boards up to 3.8m long, this saw, when used correctly did the job. Depending on timber being cut (dry, knotted, or not fully seasoned) your technique has to change. Moving the saw forward then releasing it slightly backwards, stopped the blade clogging and sometimes jamming. The battery times varied but lasted over a couple of hours before recharging. The blade has kept its sharpness after fitting 56m2 of cutting and fitting hardwood cladding. Highly recommend
Good purchase
Good DIY cordless saw. Note, to install blade there is a light gray release button on battery side of blade housing. I have a similar Ryobi saw purchased in the US that doesn’t have this feature and button was a little difficult to depress, so I was little baffled to start off, but all good now.
Rhiobi 1+ system brillia
Part of the ryobi 1+ system,I found the circular saw very good.must is the bigger battery with it.Will this seller again.
I have not been able t try it out yet but I am happy with i
Received my Ryobi One+ saw, I have not been able t try it out yet but I am happy with it.
Great DIY tool.
Fit for purchase, great DIY tool, probably not man enough for commercial use.
Used this for cutting sheet MDF, decking and decking posts as I am rebuilding our decking. Seems to have plenty of power and slices through most things, even trimming 80mm posts by cutting half way, flipping then cutting the other half. A little dab of silicon dry lubricant helps things slide along !
It doesn’t like the blade binding. So need to keep the saw flat and vertical if the sole isn’t fully supported and sheet has to be supported both sides of the cut.
I have a mixture of 1.3ah and 4.0ah batteries. The 1.3ah being the bottom end battery Ryobi now supplies in kits. While the 1.3ah is fine in drills it cannot supply the amperage this saw needs. So they overheat and the safety circuit trips. The saw will start again in a few seconds, but the same happens. No problem with the 4.0ah, it powers on regardless. So if the saw keeps cutting could be the battery not man enough.
I would like to get a blade with a finer cut, but very happy with the saw and Ryobi’s one+ range in general. .
Great Saw!
Wanted one of these for a while, considering its hand held it works just as well as a mains powered saw. Excellent saw!
Lightweight, blessedly free of a trailing power cord but with plenty of power for timber and MDF / chipboard. I used mine with a 4Ah battery and it’ll cut for hours. The cutting speed is excellent; the thin 1.5mm blade slices 22mm MDF as fast as you can move the saw. It would be nice to have a blade with closer, smaller TCT teeth to make it easier to get a fine edge but with masking tape to protect the cut edges while cutting and the very fast rotational speed of the blade, it does a very creditable job. I need to investigate whether non-Ryobi 150mm dia x 10mm bore blades will fit OK; theory says yes, but…….
The laser guide is excellent too; clear and easily seen in daylight.
Grea
Does exactly what I need it to do. Great produc
Meets all my expectations.
A remarkably robust tool yet easy to handle over a sustained period. Tackles demanding tasks with ease. The laser light helps to achieve a near perfect cut and the ‘balance’ gives a sense of confidence. Its portability makes it ideal for site work.
Great saw with a powerful laser that makes getting a straight cut a doddle. It;s not very powerful but fine for 18mm board. Don’t bother with the smaller batteries, get the 4.0 or 5.0AH versions with this saw.
It’s great being cordless and light. Would buy again.
1 year in, used constantly.
I have 5 of the plus one tools & this one is far & away the best, the blade is ultra thin & as long as you hold the saw & push it in a straight line it`ll surprise you just how long it`ll last (with 4 amp batteries). it juuuuust about cuts through 45mm in depth, 3-4 cuts to get through a w`top mind you, (give it a fighting chance guys!) I recently cut 36 18mm MDF boards, one cut straight through each time mind, 8ft long & was astonished at how well this wee saw performed, best money I`ve spent in years. must be used in a straight line mind you, wander off just a smidge- it`ll simply stop!
I use mine professionally & I`m still using the original blade!!
As I say in my other reviews about Ryobi ONE+ tools, if you are looking to do heavy duty work then its all about having the right battery. Using a 4.0Ah battery I used this as my main tool in building a 12 x 8ft animal shelter. It was able to rip through 12mm ply and treated timber. Really performed far better than I thought it would. In order to keep going at max pace I bought tow of the batteries I reference above, having one on charge while using the other. The only downside id the 4.0Ah batteries aren’t cheap!
This used product had all the parts as advertised and works as described. I have used it on numerous occasions and it has not let me down. The cut is very good and is very well balanced when in use. Easy to use and not too noisy.
fantastic piece of kit, athough its on battery it spins FAST (be warned)and last long despite the battery being 1.5AH
I use this all the time a brilliant bit of ki
I am so pleased with this circular saw. My main reason for buying was to cut thought 18mm osb for various jobs but it has also had to cut other materials as well, including stud work. I use it with a 4ah battery and it lasts plenty, in fact I’ve used it on and off for a day and there’s still some battery left. I can see it using up the battery quicker with heavy use but I’ve got other batteries. (The ryobi website gives you an idea of how long the different power batteries will last in different tools).
It is solidly built, not too heavy but a nice weight for solid, straight cuts. The laser line is a good inclusion and works well, it’s also adjustable if you find it’s out slightly. The tool come with a guide for long straight cuts and is adjustable on 2 planes (up/down for differing depths and left/right for angled cuts). Also comes with an allen key tucked away in the side of body for blade changes. There’s a safety switch that also activates the laser line before you can use the trigger but helpfully the button for this is on both sides of the handle.
I haven’t found a job that makes this tool struggle yet and with it being battery powered it’s so easy to move it between the garage and where I’m working in the house. This is a very well built saw, I’d say top end diy/low end professional. I don’t hesitate in recommending it.
Have plenty of spare batteries available.
Surprisingly powerful but chews through the standard battery very quickly when I tried it on 1.5″ hardwood.
Light but powerful. Was expecting a slow cutting heavy item that would only be good for the occasional job. I was wrong have not got my mains power circular saw out since i have had it! One of my better buys
I lve this tool
Looks quality piece of kit not used yet but can tell I will not be disappointed build quality and looks the pa
Four Stars
This is surprisingly powerful. If using the standard battery it doesn’t last that long though
Five Stars
Needs BIG batteries if you want to use it all day
Excellent tool
Should have bought one of these years ago. The laser is a brilliant idea. I’m working in a roof space cutting old flat roof boards out ready for insulation so its a HUGE help. Good cutting ability and the battery doesn’t run down too quickly on 1″ boards.
Buy one even if you never use it :):)
Seriously impressed
I was given a couple of large batteries and a drill for Christmas and whilst I had used it a lot I was beginning to wonder if anything would run them down. I then had a project to build the shuttering for a concrete base for a feed silo so I purchased this to cut up the shuttering ply.
Cutting two sheets of 3/4in shuttering plywood is just beyond the capability of this saw – in terms of depth only! It sliced through the top sheet and almost though the one underneath with great ease – although it did give the batteries a bit of a hard time and for the first time I found you could find something to drain them – after about 25 meters of cutting at full depth.
Best tool I own, bar none! Will rip through wood and plastic without skipping a beat. Bought mine to lay a deck in the garden (36sq metres) and it handled it beautifully. If you’re doing a lot of work you may want to invest in one of the 4ah batteries, the 1.3ah ones will last a couple of hours though.
dose as it should.
once again thank you for speedy service ,I am disabled and need as much help as I can get with the little diy that I can still manage
as am very restricted these days never the less I do what I can and this tool helps very well.

Just what my husband needed to do all the little jobs I nag him abouf as well as his own prrojects
hi, I wasn’t expecting much from this circular saw but have been pleasantly surprised.
With the old ni cad batts it’s not great they slow down too quick.
I’ve been using it with the 1.4 ion batts and am really happy with the performance. I was cutting loads of 4×2 with it the other day. It cuts to 45mm i think so not all the way through a 2″ timber but i just turned it over and cut again, I used the fantastic lazer to line it up with the old cut and it made easy work of it all. You need to go slower than a power saw or the blade will just stop, so no ham fisted ramming it through the timber but it’s not a snails pace either. I am really impressed with it. This price seems ok too.
It has a nice feel to it as well. Regards Mark
