Wanted to go back to a bagged hoover and this one does not disappoint. Great suction and it has the look of the older upright hoovers back in the day … a look that I absolutely love. My first sebo, I usually have shark but this is one I will definately stick with 🙂

Only had it a short time but so far so good. Nicely made with enough suction to do the job. I like the fact that it has disposable bags, much cleaner to use than those plastic cylinders. Yes it’s expensive but hopefully it will live up to the feedback but we shall see. I’m trying hard to purchase stuff made in either UK or EU so this fits the bill and does not have the dreaded “Made in PRC.” stamped on the bottom.

Had Dyson forever but Dyson just suck the thick carpet up to much and it becomes a workout. This does the job with ease glides around the carpet and pick up so much

The X7 replaced my old 25 year old X1 which still worked but had developed some faults. The X7 is just as good as the old one but with some tweaks that make it better. It’s quieter. Handle connection to the body is more secure. Better filtration.
I wanted a bag vacuum not one of the modern type that need emptying after each use and then release dust everywhere when you do empty them.
Compared to other bag vacuum cleaners this is by far the best available.

Arrived on time, easily assembled (handle). Okay wasn’t sure at first but over the moon I bought this upright vacuum cleaner. Lightweight with auto floor leveling which makes moving from hard floors to piled carpets a no fuss action. No more bending down…. twisting knobs to set your floor height. Never thought I would ever buy a upright bagged vacuum but so glad I did. Well done SEBO definitely recommend.

Powerful and straight forward to use with lots of attachments. A touch on the heavy side, but it’ll last and last.

Having had a bagless vacuum cleaner for years, this is much better. I don’t need to use another vacuum to properly clean it! It adjusts the height automatically so quicker to do the vacuuming, from carpet to hard flooring. Love it.

This is the best cleaner I have ever bought. The suction is strong and my carpets look great. It is heavy to carry about but this is outweighed by how clean it makes carpet and all floor types. My stairs have not been cleaner. Very pleased with this.

I love Sebo. I have had 2 over the years. Very powerful vacuum,
However I was disappointed to discover the newer model doesn’t have the half tilt facility like my previous ones. I find it easier to vacuum rugs with the half tilt position. I could vacuum off the end and tilt it then repeat so it doesnt suck the rug up.

More expensive than some but these have a good pedigree in hotels etc. One of the reasons I bought it was that it was not made in China. You can get a Chinese Vacuum cheaper.

Lovely vaccum cleaner with good suction, and was very easy to assemble. Only drawback it is fairly heavy and liable to tip when using attachments. The added tube brilliant for stairs. Beautifully made.

OK, SEBO vacuum cleaners are somewhat more expensive than others (though there are more expensive brands!) but having to replace our previous SEBO it was a no brainer to get another one – principally because the old one was actually nearly 20 years old and so probably didn’t owe us very much. The new one is a bit more auto-everything electronic, which is a bit of a concern, but it seems to work even more efficiently than I remember the old one doing at the height of its powers, and the new one is definitely much quieter in operation. It has to deal with hard floors and carpets (adjusts completely automatically), dog hair and general dust and detritus – all of which it does extremely smoothly. Hopefully this one will last as long as the previous model!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersMy old Dyson reached its last days. I still use it for the car and dirty jobs. I saw a review of this product on You tube and was impressed. The reviewer said that if you wanted a corded vacuum for the house the Sebo was the best. So I bought one. I have not been sorry. It is easy to use, suction is good and with the extension it does the stairs really well.
I bought a conversion kit so I can still use the Dyson attachments, especially the small rotating head for the stairs.
Its a few months down the line now and I am yet to change the bag.
I can fully recommend this appliance.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersWhere do I start?

I have owned a henry, I’ve owned multiple Shark vacuums, used countless of others over the years – I have never experienced anything like a sebo. After doing extensive research into what vacuum is the best, I was torn between Miele and Sebo – having learnt that Shark/Dyson are just marketting jargon that won’t last!

In the end I went with the Sebo, automatically adjusts for the floor type – meaning I just need to turn it on and get on with it!

    The good:
    – Best vacuum suction I’ve ever witnessed
    – Good cord length
    – Easy enough to put together and swap over bags etc
    – Will pull in dirt before getting to it (won’t spray dirt around like my old Shark did with it’s rollers)

The bad (when I say bad, it’s more me being picky – there seems a lot, but it’s just what I’ve found)
    – It doesn’t swivel, so can be more difficult to manoeuvre on the spot (thinking like the dyson ball or similar)
    – It won’t work on door mats, will simply suck them up unless they are seriously stuck down to the floor
    – When using the hose, be careful – it tends to pull the machine over if you extend too far
    – The extension hose, it doesn’t replace the standard hose, it simply extends the standard hose, this means you need to store it somewhere when you don’t need to extend the hose which isn’t a huge problem but confused me slightly.
    – It is heavy, so if you suffer with back problems or anything like that, I couldn’t recommend this, you would need a stick vacuum especially if you need to take it upstairs etc.

Would I buy it again knowing what I know now?
For me personally, yes I would – the performance of it is top notch, we have a dog and have hairs everywhere and it has absolutely no problem with them at all, the hoover makes carpets plump and brand new again, it is seriously good for suction and adjusts it’s height accordingly – even worked with my rugs which are very high pile!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAfter 30 years our Sebo X1 finally died. In that time, apart from bags or filters, the only spares needed were one replacement belt after 25 years. The X7 is the latest edition, but not hugely different. Old-fashioned looking it may be, but it cleans brilliantly, adapts to different floors automatically and with the extension hose and attachments covers all our needs. I don’t think we will be buying another, though- this one will surely outlive us

Like the power and cleanliness and design of machine. It might be more of problem for the less robust physically due to it’s weight and lack of swivel.

I don’t give 5 stars unless a product is unexpectedly far more than I imagined it woud be. I was surprised to pay so much and have to assemble the product, but it went togethether really easily and well. It is light enough for me to carry it upstairs with one hand while carrying a full cup of tea in the other. It doesn’t always pick absolutely everything up that I ask it to – but I do test it quite stiffly most times I use it (Pine neefles, pins, old staples, etc). It does make marks on the carpet that suggest the automatic setting for carpet pile depth works. I find the small extension hose quite difficult to get back into the housing, I like the audible click when you know it is properly seated. I like the solid “gun” element of the extension hose. Like all uprights it suffers from a tendency to fall over if you try and stretch the hose too far. This can be overcome by using the separate longer supplied hose – but if you are like me you never remember to get it out and it is too far away to be bothered to use. One downside is how it lets the bag overflow before the check bag light goes on. It may be my just my vacuum of course. I didn’t realise and it was only after reseating three or four times that I checked the hose. It took several goes to get all the debris out of the hose, iit was quite awkward to clean because of the angles. Like very single manufacturer the price of new bags is very high – but for me this one lasted over 5 months.
A good solid machine, with its own foibles as with any other manufacturer.

This Sebo is the best hover I have ever used, the suction is brilliant, I have a dog and the hair that comes off him is horrendous, the Sebo as no problem picking them up. I have had a Sebo before, I do have a Shark but would recommend that, I keep it upstairs but no It NO comparison To Sebo. Would highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAfter years of buying just good enough to get us through stuff we have hit a point where we can maybe spend a little more on white goods and home products. We learnt this the hard way by replacing tumble dryers and vacuums etc every couple of years (usually just after the warrantee had run out). Any way our Hoover broke recently (2 years old!) and the search was on for something decent this time. I usually start by going on John Lewis website and doing a high to low price search. Whilst not as expensive as a top end Dyson the Sebo is definitely not cheap. Then I read the reviews, on the JL website and then Amazon. The reviews looked good. I liked the fact it’s bagged, as fed up of emptying and cleaning out dust filters after 20 minutes use as the suction suffers. Anyway stumped for the Sebo with extra length of hose. Nervous about spending 200+ on a vacuum but needn’t have been. The Sebo works great. Very powerful, visibly can see the pile stand up on carpet. The auto height adjust takes a bit of getting used to. Transition from carpet to wood floor you need to allow a few seconds for the height to change, but that’s no biggy. Extra hose is a must for cleaning stairs, the standard hose is very short. Not changed bags yet in over a month without any loss of suction. Oh and the air freshener capsules smell nice. Bought from Amazon as the price was good and JL were out of stock. Very pleased so far. It feels strong and well made.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersSince having new fairly deep pile carpets fitted we have struggled to find a vacuum to clean them. First we tried a Dyson which was completely useless, it stalled the rotating brush and clamped down on the carpet making it impossible to move. After some googling we went for the Miele C3, much better than the Dyson but still very hard work. A bit more googling and we found a lot of recommendations for the Sebo on this type of carpet. It arrived today and was unpacked and put together in ten minutes. What a revelation, it is superb, easy to use and cleans beautifully. It seems to be very well built and designed with the user in mind rather that just looking funky like the Dysons.
Although we have only just got it, I can’t recommend it more highly, particularly if you have deep carpets.

It is heavy but it has an extra long stair attatchment so no trying to hold it while doing the stairs, and the automatic height adjustment is brilliant, it has done an amazing job of my shag carpet. This vacuum is worth every penny.

This model is a pleasure to use, it has plenty of suction on all surfaces and weighs only 7.5 kg unlike our previous VAX, which at 11kg was a real chore to carry upstairs. The bag is still half empty despite regular use. We had been considering a cordless stick type cleaner but after much research there really is no contest.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersHaving had a Dyson Animal for about 20 years we decided it was getting a little ‘tired’ and that the cost of services was getting towards the price of a new one.
We shopped around the various outlets and were not overly happy with what was on offer so we took ourselves off to our normal repairer and asked them what they would recommend.. eventually they recommended the Sebo range.
Having looked at the ones available we chose the Sebo Automatic X7 as we felt that the model met our needs.
As the dealer couldn’t match Amazon’s price we bought one from Amazon.
It was delivered very quickly [but later than advised and with damaged packaging — thank you delivery company!] it came in the form of a ‘construction kit’ but was easy to assemble [just a small screwdriver did the job].
On trying it out first time we found the machine hard to push [suction is strong] and the tools are rather flimsy compared with the Dyson.
The machine uses a bag to collect the dust which so far [2 months] hasn’t needed emptying [despite having a hairy dog knocking about!] which is good.
Compared to the Dyson it is much more noisy but you can live with that [providing you don’t vacuum late at night].
The tools are fixed to the body by [flimsy] clips too much pressure and pretty sure they will break.
To vacuum the stairs needs an extension hose [provided].
The machine seems heavier than the Dyson nut not a major problem.
All in all a reasonable vacuum cleaner possibly better than the equivalent ‘mainstream’ models found at Currys etc..

Golden Review Award: 34 From Our UsersMy last SEBO upright gave me almost 20 years service. It was brilliant. Never any trouble until it’s motor began to labour. I’m pleased to say that this new one is just as good ! I’m really pleased with it. It’s even the same colour! It is slightly lighter in weight but just as strong; the suction power is just as good. Some reviewers seem to worry that the wattage is lower on the new models, but I think this is made up for by newer technology – it performs just as well – better in fact due to new rollers! The longer cable is really useful if a little cumbersome to keep out of the way while using. The service kit etc is the same so I was able to use up my old bags having just bought a new box. I would never buy anything other than a SEBO. They are the best.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersVery pleased with hoover. It is very sturdy and well made. The motor is quite quiet too and much quieter than my G-Tech cordless which it replaced due to the G-Tech constantly throwing the bits back on the floor when going backwards and forwards. Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI’ve just spent well over 300 for a new Sebo and Im not sure Im entitely happy with it. My last upright Sebo was 12 years old with no faults until the motor started to smell and we deemed it unusable. That cleaner swept house rubble, cleaned up after 3 teenagers and 3 dogs. When I first used it the suction on the carpet was phenomenal. Perhaps I’m harshly comparing to a machine of 12 years ago, the plastic was thicker and the tools fitted better. Nothing is as good as it was.

I am perplexed with the hoovering. Yes it’s picking bits up but it feels too light. It doesn’t feel like it’s doing a deep clean, only picking up off the surface. Maybe it’s misleading and doing a better job than it feels it is. Perhaps that’s the new technology. Anyway it’s early days and I’ve got to make the best of it, it’s probably a really good hoover. I dont expect anything less from Sebo.
