This sharpener has made me realise how rubbish my previous sharpener was. Knife now slices through tomato so easily. Wish I’d bought this sooner. Used it on garden tools too. Great.
Bought a new kindling stick knife/axe and a Roughneck 1 1/2 lb axe. I generally file the edge down to a fairly useful edge and the use stones ( from 400 up to 3600) to straighten and sharpen the edge to the keenness I want.
This sharpener took a whole lot of time and effort away from the filing and after a couple of minutes on each item…they were both easily ready to use. They have now the ideal edge I’m wanting…

Perfect. Works perfectly on all of my gardening equipment; shears, secateurs etc. Thought I was going to have to replace my favourite secateurs that had become blunt with use. This gadget sharpened them up beautifully and saved the replacement cost – which would have been more than twice as much as the Sharpal. Also works well on knives and scissors – but then I expected that.
A really good idea to read the instructions BEFORE you start sharpening everything you can think of! Different devices are sharpened with different places on it. Another wee helping tip is to watch the video on the Amazon website as it clears up some of the mysteries! Good!
My axe had been completely blunted through mis-use and I was skeptical that this would be able to bring it back to life as i thought it would need to go ona grinder.
However, after 5 minutes this tool had got it sharp again and its was so easy to use. Would definitely recommend.
Very handy sharpener that so far has sharpener sissors, garden shears,grass mower blade,knives, even a pizza cutter with care, branch lopper, use the correct sharpening blades and it’s perfect.
I was abit cautious about buying this , but I had several gardening items that needed sharpening as well as scissors and knives in the kitchen also . Bought it and as soon as delivered I was trying it out. Garden shears , no problem, secateurs no problem , small axe was great , it actually did the job , now for kitchen gadgets. Single bladed scissors , brilliant , knives even better. Really glad I purchased these.
So simple to use following clear and easy instructions. Last week my hedge shears couldn’t cut through snow but now they’re as good as new. Same with 3 pair of scissors and a cooks knife.

I use a lot of old tools at the allotment, as well as cooking knives and other knives at home. I already own lots of random sharpening tools, none of which are really any good, so I wanted to replace them all with a single all-in-one that actually worked.
These kind of fits the bill, but it’s not the miracle-worker that I was hoping it would be. There’s a definite technique required for getting the best out of some of the tools, whilst some of them work instantly without any effort.
The bevelled sharpener for secateurs etc is brilliant, really brilliant. A couple of swipes and they’re good and sharp.
The wide sharpener for axes etc is pretty good, but sadly can’t cope very well with curved blades like billhooks and sickles due to the geometry of the handle. Shame, but I guess that’s not what it’s designed for.
The handle is brilliant, and makes securing the sharpener on a worktop very simple, without need for silly suction cups (which never work properly).
The draw-through knife sharpener is..okay. Just okay. It does a reasonable job, with practice, but doesn’t give the effortless razor edge I was hoping for.
The tungsten carbide bar is pretty good, and a good thing to fall back on when the draw-through knife sharpener does nothing to a blade.
The white fine honing strip seems to be some kind of bluntener, and will strip the sharp edge off any tool in seconds. Seriously – that’s all it does. Whatever angle or stroke you use to apply it, it just removes any sharp edge from the blade instantly. I guess that could be handy in some situations, but it certainly doesn’t do what the instructions say that it does.
Overall, a pretty handy thing to have in your bag or tool box if you just want a single tool for lots of jobs, but I’m not sure it was worth the money when only around half of the sharpening tools are truly useful.
A bit confused when I first opened it, as the instructions on which blade sharpens which tool were not very clear. Once I got going though, it was quite straight forward. I removed every tool from the shed that could be sharpened and started sharpening! It did work and it made a difference to my secateurs, garden shears etc and kitchen knives and scissors. I’ll sharpen the tools again at the end of the summer so they are ready to go next year. A good useful tool.
What a great little tool was a bit unsure at first after trying so many knife sharpness and not good at all, But this is a litte gem done all my knifes, hedge trimmers, mower blade, all with 100% BEST KNIFE SHARPNER EVER.
I have purchased many a sharpener with varying success. Very hit and miss when it comes to finding a sharpener that actually sharpens. This one has been very good at sharpening my knives and garden tools to very good cutting standard. Recommended.
A very practical tool. I have started by sharpening my penknife and secateurs which have been blunt for ages. The result was a huge difference. Kitchen knifes next. Easy to use and value for money. Recommend it to anyone who needs sharp blades. Many thanks

Keeps my kitchen knives in tiptop shape, which is safer than a blunted knife. I had been using the small round sharpener, which was fine for knives, this one is useful for lots more tools.

Early days but it looks promising after watching the video.I gave a 1star review prior to watching the video then realised that I was using the wrong part.Subsequently I now give 4 stars.
As described. Lightweight, easy to use. It is strongly recommended to wear protective gloves when using this, as when I used it, I slipped and the blade of what I was sharpening, sliced into my finger with a very deep cut. The blade of the item was so blunt before that it wouldn’t cut paper! This product works very well!

It sharpens things so sharp they are dangerous. I love it so much I’ve sharpened everything, even things that aren’t meant to be sharp. My house and garden are a death trap. My wife has gotten tired of me saying “be careful with that, it’s sharp”.

Liked its suitability to sharpen a range of tools and whilst practice is necessary it’s easier to be successful than using some other sharpening equipment such as sharpening stones.
Although a bit fiddly initially, does what it says on the tin. Sharpened secateurs great alough will need to get my head around instuctions to sharpen axe head
This sharpening tool is definitely worth the money, I’ve used it with kitchen knives, garden tools such as loppers, edgers, pruners and shears and it has worked on them all, I was at the stage of replacing our very blunt tools with new ones until I purchased the sharpening tool, definitely money well spent.
This is a brilliant piece of kit. I’m an ex-soldier, offshore rigger & now professional gardener, so I know a thing or two about sharpening blades of all descriptions. And I can tell you this is by far the best & easiest tool to get a very decent edge on a multitude of blades without any experience at all.

I’ve never used a sharpener that does the job like this one does. It’s marvellous. I bought one and another member of my family wanted one. It sharpens secateurs easily without having to take them apart. Kitchen knives, shears are easy to sharpen. My shears will even cut 1 sheet of paper now, they’re so sharp. Excellent machine.
When used on unserrated blades and strictly according to instructions, this product works perfectly. The point is that normally very little metal needs to be removed to sharpen a blade that has not been abused, and this tool removes just that little that is needed. All my knives were sharpened with ten strokes at very moderate pressure; scissors similar and a few strokes with the honing bar finished the job. Twenty to twenty five strokes quickly sharpened the (slightly notched) bevelled blade of a pruning lopper. I did a machete in three sections corresponding to points of clamping, to keep the blade stiff; again twenty easy strokes were entirely sufficient. This is a beautifully designed and produced tool.
I don’t usually write product reviews as most products don’t live up to the hype, but this is brilliant! I’ve sharpened all tools pictured and what’s more had fun doing it. Have used various stones to sharpen my tools before and this is easily the best. Can’t see myself needing another until I inevitably lose it
I do like it when a product actually does what it is supposed to do and this sharpener resurrected some old and blunt kitchen knives very, very effectively. I’ve yet to try it on my garden tools but I’ve no reason to think that it will not perform equally well.
Used it to sharpen, knives, scissors and outside pruners, sheers, Brilliant! You can cut paper with the pruners after use and the inside knives are razer sharp.
I love love love my sharpal tool….it sharpens everything I need it too in one small unit…..even managed to sharpen part of my lawnmowers blade (only part of the blade because the blade was so corroded to the lawnmower that I couldn’t remove it to it properly) but the bit I did manage to sharpen has been life changing….it’s never been sharpened in 8 years and thanks to my sharpal it’s revived…

Excellent on sharpening kitchen knives. Slightly less good on secateurs, but that is largely because of the design of the secateurs, where it is often difficult to get at the blades. It is a nice, sturdy piece of equipment, which should last for years.
I got this after realising that several of my garden tools were unacceptably blunt. It is very easy to use and has restored good edges to all the tools I have used it on so far. Even my partner has been impressed…..possibly because it has stopped me asking him to sharpen the tools for me!

Everything that needed an edge has been sharpened to within an inch of its life in my household! Shears, scissors and garden pruners have had the treatment. The Sharpal has given them an excellent cutting edge. Well pleased.
Very impressed with this sharpener. I really hate cooking with blunt knives and have tried a few different sharpeners, which have made no difference at all. With this one I noticed the difference straight away! Lovely sharp knives, like they were when new. Have also used it to sharpen the garden shears, which made clipping the hedge much easier.
OK, let me be honest, I was a bit sceptical about this but the demo videos looked good and I thought I’d give it a go as it was on a special offer for 22.99 which was far less than the cost of some new garden sheers.
I started by sharpening my Swiss Army knife, and the result were super. Then onto the bread knife and another great result. It was then time to try it on the garden sheers which used a different sharpening function of the tool. The results were wonderful as they were on the blade of my mower.
I can recommend this tool without reservation. Check out the instructional videos for some guidance and quite honestly I can’t see how you can go wrong.
If you’ve got a badly pitted blade, I’d recommend that you use a file to even up the blade first and than use the sharpening tool as you’ll get much better and quicker results.

I had been looking for a good multi-purpose blade sharpener (mainly for garden shears…) for a while and I saw this great little tool on Amazon. I purchased the item based mainly on product reviews and the product website looked fairly good with lots of “how to use” videos. Anyway the item arrived and right away I tried it on my garden shears. It was easy to use and I could see the blade shining with sharpness when I’d finished. It did the job marvellously. I’ve since tried it on our kitchen knives which, again, it performs very well. In fact it’s given our knives a better finish than our old electric sharpener… I may even purchase another one from the Sharpal range just for knives so I can put my multi one back in my shed!

I sharpened a very dull edge on my well used wood splitting axe, it was razor sharp within a min or two, very easy to use.

Once you get the hang of it you can use it ok. The instructions could be better in larger print.

Produce a great edge on secateurs and loppers. Works extremely well on curved blades as well.

Not a lot more to say. It does what it says on the tin. Handy for sharpening things other than knives as well.

Only got it yesterday had a go with it today, put a nice edge on my secs & edgers , making sure you have it at the right angle is the key.
Most things easy to sharpen found it difficult to sharpen small secateurs! But good around product.
