Easy to use, love asking my smart speaker to boil the kettle, had three kettle before this all with a horrible plastic taste can safely say this one is perfect. my one little gripe is i wish the water level was on the first screen so you could see at a glance.

After previously owning an AppKettle (gone bust). I got very used to having Alexa turn my kettle on. After shopping around I went for the iKettle. I love the look of this kettle. It comes in a good variety of colours. Very quick and easy to set up. Recently had one small glitch where it Alexa couldn’t find it/turn it on. Engineers fixed it (at their end) within 24 hours. The app looks nice and works very well. Very happy with my purchase.

My Appkettle failed to work with Alexa recently and as no support at all was available from the manufacturers, I decided to look for a different device.
I settled on the IKettleafter reading some reviews and I have to say I’m very pleased with it.
It is a lot quicker to respond than the Appkettle both by phone and Alexa. It was almost instant when I connected to it in the UK from Saudi Arabia. Within a second of clicking to start boiling, it responded saying that it was boiling.
The only thing I don’t like is that water level display. The Appkettle had a nice graphic display showing how full the kettle was, whereas the IKETTLE only shows low, half and full or number of cups (3 to 5) or ml (810-1299) which isn’t as easy to visualise.
The other downside to the IKETTLE is that to set a schedule to boil you must also have an alarm set. This to me is crazy. Each workday morning I want the kettle to boil at particular timebut I don’t need an alarm to wake me up as I’m already awake! Maybe you can auto mute the alarm or have a “do not disturb” set up to ignore the alarm bit but allow the kettle to boil. The alarm should be an option not mandatory.
Some people have said it’s difficult to set up. I didn’t find it a problem at all. The instructions are good and it can be done in a few minutes
Anyway to sum up, there’s not a great choice of wifi kettles but this is a decent one for the market. Pricey, yes but inedible convenient. Would recommend (in spite of the downsides).

I have always wanted to have smart home where everything is automated controlled by voice or app . This magic kettle is one of them , it facilitates life when I am heading to work early in the morning I would like my cup of tea or coffee to be ready while I am having my shower or get dressed . Save me time to boil the kettle and wait for it and so on , also it is handy when I am coming home in cold days or when I am up in my bedroom . Amazing stuff , welcome to the future of smart homes ! The kettle quality is great , very well designed , nothing to fault .

Honestly if connecting the kettle hadn’t have been so difficult this would be a five star review. The kettle spent 3 days where it wouldn’t connect but finally we got 1 or 2 phones working and have left it as is. Love it but cannot be bothered risk trying to connect the second IPhone. We just use the one for the kettle.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our Userswe have had a dispensing Kettle for years as we liked pushing a button with cups in place and walking away
only to return 5 mins later with tea brewed and ready.
The problem with this type of kettle was we always felt it never quite got hot enough and our tea was only just hot enough.

So when it finally failed we could not find another we liked so we saw this on the Gadget Show, we were a bit sceptical after reading a few reviews ( one said it had failed due to water getting into the base and they would not replace as this was the customers fault) God forbid water would get into the workings of a kettle….I have been ready for a fight if this happened since we bought it.

Anyway six months on no problems, the app can be a bit clunky and its not always obvious if you have set it up correctly as there is multiple settings and you can think you have achieved what you need from it only to find it was another setting all-together….

One thing i recommend is setting it to reach below 100c as it boils on for to long after, we have ours set to something like 95c, this way it’s turns off as it starts to bubble away, not for another 15 seconds trying to escape its base.

We thought having a dispensing kettle was the height of connivence but using Alexa to turn on a kettle is great, when i get out of bed i simple say “alexa Kettle” and buy the time i reach the kitchen it’s boiled.

also it’sa bit to useful as my better half has an office in the garden and when i’m in the house i hear the kettle beep as she has turned it on from her office signalling she wants a cup of tea….she does this a lot…….i think she need to put it in her office… and cut out the middle man..

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI love all things connected, alexafied, whatever you want to call it, and I’ve wanted one of these smarter kettles since before they were even invented . When our 2ish year old kettle was about to give up the ghost, I found this 3rd gen version, which includes “formula mode”. We recently became grandparents, so this was a great way to justify the spend!
It arrived on next day delivery, and within ten minutes, I had it up and running to the point of saying echo/Alexa “put the kettle on”. We have all got the app so that we can get alerts as to when the kettle is boiled, and then when it’s cooled to 70 degrees to make a bottle for the wee man. If you have Alexa you don’t need ifttt, you can set a routine…when your alarm goes off in the morning, the kettle will boil, or whatever works best for you. I’ve not tried geofencing yet, but I’ve boiled the kettle from the top of the street on my way home . It boils really quickly and is a lot quieter than my old one, which is a massive bonus. Loving it, definitely one of my best purchases recently – although I did get a connected vacuum cleaner yesterday., which I’ll review in a couple of days . If you have any questions, I’m always happy to help, or if you found my review helpful please hit the helpful button! Thank you

    Amazing connected kettle!

Pretty easy to set up. Like the temperature adjustment and keep warm facility. Pointless “baby feature” for right temperature bottles (for us), but I guess if you’ve a newborn baby – this could come in handy. Doesn’t spew out masses of steam when boiled which is a great feature.

Got this for Christmas and use it all the time. Perfect for brewing a cuppa first thing in the morning and while at my desk working from home. The only reason it’s not 5 stars was because the app mentioned in the instructions and it was very fiddly pairing to the wifi. Put a 2D barcode to the right app in the instructions and perhaps think about a better way to pair to wifi and it would be 5 stars. Otherwise love it!

Great smart kettle and a decent size, with easy Google Assistant integration. It has a useful ‘keep warm’ function and a nicely laid out smartphone app. It would be nice if it had a clear strip to see how much water is in it, but you can get an estimate of current volume via the app. Be prepared for some water marks on the metallic finish.

Loved the functionality of the kettle, setting the temperature, having a return home facility (it boils the kettle within x distance of you returning), the WiFi is easily set up, my only gripe is the kettle isn’t cool wall it’s got to touch after boiling I’d have expected (as cool wall (cool to touch) kettles) have been around for years for this to be a similar however it isn’t and even worse it’s not mentioned in the kettle description hence the three stars functionality of the kettle I love I do not like it’s hot touch.

This kettle is good. It is working well with Alexa. The app shows you water level and you can set how long you want it to be kept warm for once boiled. It can be operated manually or by App or Alexa. I love being able to ask Alexa to make a brew! The small downside was it was difficult to set up. I created an account with the smart app. It found the kettle and calibrated it. Then I enabled the skill in Alexa and linked it my a point, but for some reason Alexa could not find the kettle. It just didn’t work. I had to create a new account with my husbands email address and then set up the kettle again and link the Alexa skill to his account. It worked first time and found the Kettle. I didn’t do anything differently than I did the first time with my own account so I can’t explain why my email address didn’t work but my husbands did. It’s fully set up now and is working perfectly.

First off I had an issue with the app not finding my router but after an email to the smarter support team who responded super quick I had updated my app to the latest release and boom I was boiling the kettle in minutes from various rooms in the house to my wife’s amusement. I hav even utilised Google assistant on my TV which is handy. You might think “why do I need to boil the kettle from my phone?” But this is so much more than that if you use it right. I particularly enjoy the alarm function which has the kettle boiled for when I wake and detecting when I pull up on my drive ready for me to pour my afternoon brew. Looks nice and is well built a little pricey for a kettle but when you consider it’s functions and the fact it’s a home gadget, a piece of tech then it makes a bit more sense.

Decent looking kettle, little bit on the heavy side but to be honest gives it a quality feel. Out of all the smart tech out there, if your an office worker or someone who works from home i’d strongly recommend this product. Literally boil your kettle whilst getting ready for your meetings. But having connected it to everything possible, and finding that I can put the kettle on before arising from my bed or getting out of my comfy chair by asking Alexa or using the app, it has proved to be something I will be thankful for receiving. Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersFirst off… can I say the customer service is awesome – 5 stars! Had an issue with my kettle and it was replaced within 2 days, Aaron was very helpful!

Now the kettle (the working one), it was very quick and easy to set up to my network, looks good on the counter top and boils water fairly quickly. The features are good such as wake up alarm (with a slight noise problem – see below) and the coming home feature is very useful. It also has a baby formula feature, which I haven’t tried but does seem a good idea.

The bits I don’t like and am hoping they fix on future app updates is you cannot ask Alexa how much water is in it and as there’s no visual way to see on the kettle, instead you have to open up the app and navigat3 a few screens to it or the kettle lid so a bit cumbersome. You can however ask Alexa the current water temperature and also turn it on and off. Knowing the water level is critical to me so this improvement needs adding urgently. Also within routines of Alexa I can set it to boil at a certain time but I’d also like the option to keep water warm like you get within its own app, and it would be handy to be able to voice control this keep warm feature adhoc. And the last point, in its own app when you do set a wake up alarm, there is no option to turn off the actual alarm noise so instead I’ve had to turn sound off in notifications setting of my phone otherwise I’d have a multitude of alarms going off in my bedroom the downside of this “fix” is I now get no sound when boiling is complete on a normal boil.

All in all I am very happy with my kettle and a few small improvements and it could do everything I want!

    …OK, beep…..boil….done!

This is a need, must get the item. It is amazing! But but but it’s just a kettle? No! It’s a kettle you can turn on from bed, on your way home from work, or soon as you walk through the door. Hey, you can set the alarm so it boils when you wake up too

I bought this on the 1st Jan 2018 and at the end of May 2020 a bracket broke on the lid (remember this is 2 years of usage, and we all know how much use a kettle gets, it’s a lot!) the customer service was so helpful and a pleasure to deal with, they replaced the kettle with a new one!

The app is nice and simple, quick to set-up. The kettle and app link to the wifi and Alexa with ease

I don’t know how I lived without it! Stumbled across it incidentally while looking for a replacement for my old kettle. My only requirement was the variable temperature function – but now that I gave it a run, I will never go back to a standard kettle! Set up was simple (even for a woman at the wrong side of middle age… I managed to set it up without the help of teenage children!) and the IFTTT and Alexa integration are a delight. How perfect to get up to a ready boiled kettle! I would recommend the ‘formula’ function, which boils and then cools the water to 70 degrees, so it’s safe to drink but will jot ruin your coffee! In brief I am over the moon. I will see how long it lasts, as I have seen some comments that it loses connectivity at times, so will update the feedback.

I absolutely love this kettle I’ve had a few different kettles and I would say this is one of the best,
I have used some of the most expensive brands and some of the cheapest brands as I like to change things quite often,
The phone app is brilliant I fill the kettle before I go to bed,
When I wake up I boil the kettle through my app amazing by the time I get downstairs the kettle is boiled ready to go!!!
My husband moans about most things that I buy but has said he will definitely stick to this kettle,
it also makes an extremely hot cup of tea which is absolutely perfect for us but you can also change the temperature for when others who don’t like it so hot! my children also drink a cup of tea or hot chocolate you don’t have to wait for it to cool down,

EDIT: After a few days use, I’ve updated from 4 stars to 5 stars as this truly is an excellent product. I originally deducted 1 star because of the hidden wifi network issue, but that will not be an issue for 99% of people who use this, and it’s an easy problem to workaround

Set up was slightly weird, but fairly straight forward. Instructions are pretty much non existent, and just point you towards the app.
There seemed to be a choice of 3 apps to install, but I think I got the right one!
The only gripe I have is that it didn’t seem possible to connect the Kettle to a network with a hidden SSID as you can only select from the available list of WiFi networks, and not manually add one.
Not a major issue (and certainly not something that will affect many people), but slightly annoying for me.

Once on the network, Alexa integration was nice and easy, and it works well.
Using the app is also straightforward, and is quite feature rich.

Personally, I would have also liked to see a fill window on the kettle, but that’s not the end of the world as you can monitor the level from the app.

All told – I’m really pleased with it, and would definitely recommend it.
I have also tried the AppKettle which unfortunately had to go back as it had network issues, and was very unreliable. The iKettle wins easily!

I love the fact that I can boil the kettle on my way home from work, and it will keep it warm until I arrive! I had the 2nd gen & it never worked properly. However, it was replaced with a 3rd gen version, and I’ve had no problems whatsoever!

I like my Smarter kettle, it’s a nice gadget to have. I have read that quite a few people have had issues with this kettle not switching off. I also had this issue for a while. If you leave the boiling point set at 100 degs C it will continue to boil away for quite some time. Lower the boiling point to say 90-95 degs C and it works just fine.

This is a well priced good quality kettle. Easy to install with nice app. Integrated first time with google home. Alexa wats that? It is not an essential item but very handy and sometimes a rite giggle. Price, quality and connectivity all good.
