I am so impressed with the kettle and whilst a premium price, it is worth it for the features that you get. It is aesthetically pleasing, although same diameter at top and bottom would be better, but the features mean that it is extremely fast to boil, you can monitor how much water is in the kettle using the app, and having Alexa to do the switching on makes getting that next cuppa so much nicer.
You can set you own temperature, keep it at that temperature until you use it, and time it to be ready for your wake up drink in the morning.
This third generation gets it right!

Woke up this morning to a boiled kettle, that saves me waiting 4 minutes 30 seconds just in the morning waiting for my old one to boil, genius, that’s over 27 hours a year saving just for one boil of the kettle every day, in reality this will save me at least a couple of days a year waiting for a kettle to boil. I’ve never been so excited over a kettle. Well done Smarterps no dodgy taste in the water that you get from a new kettle either. Result.

Works with Alexa perfectly no connection issues and really convenient to use. The Kettle is quite large ( a bit larger than standard kettles) but not so much that would make it look out of place.

Great smart kettle, to start with it looks great on my kitchen counter. Wi-fi was easy to set up and the app is clear and neatly designed, you can tell a lot of work has gone into developing this.
The app is really clear and does not throw a lot at you. When you open the app the first screen shows the water level and the temp with a sliding scale you can drag along to pick any temperature you want. It also has 3 quick set buttons, one set at 85 degrees for tea, one at 95 degrees for coffee and one at 100 degrees for boiling water. I’ve recently come to learn that anything over those temps and you just end up burning your tea bag or coffee granules.
I’ve set it up to my alexa, again very easy, I did have a slight hiccup with this but after contacting the Smarter customer service team and realising I had skipped some of the set-up instructions it was all working fine.
It even has a formula mode which heats to 100 degrees then cools to your desired temperature, not that this is of any use to me but thought I’d point it out. I’ve yet to try some of the other modes it has like the wake up or home mode but will update this review once I’ve used the iKettle for a few more weeks.
So far a great smart kettle, I highly recommend it.

Easy set up through the App and once initial registration and link to Wifi you can start heating water remotely to 3 different temperatures. This kettle can also keep the water at the desired temp for a time specified by the user. The App also gives option to
– set an alarm which can simultaneously trigger an auto-boil function
– trigger the auto-boil function when you arrive at home
– boil and let cool to a certain temp for baby formula

Docked one star because there is no protection against boiling an empty kettle, otherwise, love it.
I had the earlier iKettle and while it was fun to be able to boil via the app, it wasn’t nearly as useful as the new generation that works with Alexa and Google Assistant. Now to be able to say “Turn on the Kettle” without looking for your phone and opening the app is great. And of course it still works fine as a conventional kettle!

The first one of these I had was broken, but thankfully it was replaced very quickly. The kettle is a breeze to set up… If you can see. Unfortunately I can’t, which meant I had to rely on someone else to hold my phone over the base in exactly the correct position. Hopefully the company will address this, as otherwise it’s a nicely accessible piece of kit. Once set up, ,we discovered that, due to its poor wireless pick up, we needed to install an extender in our kitchen. Not a problem as we had a spare, but a bit poor, as other gadgets down there were happily picking up the signal. That said, once it was installed, the kettle worked beautifully. I could change the temperature and start it boiling. Google and Alexa integration were perfect and easy to set up, and the kettle worked like a dream first time. Be aware that the outer skin does get hot if, like me, you’re someone who needs to touch the kettle before they pour. We solved this by sewing a neoprene cover for the jug and it’s worked fine for me ever since. I still use this kettle on a daily basis, and love it as much as the day I bought it. It might seem expensive, but for someone who finds it difficult to walk around, or for somebody who actually quite fancies having a hot kettle ready to go right when they get in from work, this is just perfect. My one tip? Remember to always fill it with water after you’ve finished! It doesn’t have a cut switch if it’s empty, so this is really, really important.

I got this for Christmas and it is fantastic. It works loads better than I hoped it would. Set up was a simple enough, although it was a bit strange holding a flashing mobile screen to the underside of the kettle base (I’ve never seen this before), but it worked well enough. Once done, use IFTTT to set it up with Google Home. I’ve used “boil the kettle” as our key phrase and it is as simple as saying those words and she boils away. I also use the alarm clock function, so it’s waiting for me piping hot every morning when I get up. No more stood in the cold waiting for the kettle to boil.
The only way I could improve this is if the App would alert you in the evening if the kettle water volume was below a certain level, e.g. 2 cups worth, so you remember to fill it up, or introduced a widget for my Android home screen to show it without going into the App. Minor suggestions that will hopefully come with future App releases.
Well worth buying.
After a Philips HD4761 kettle and 4 free replacements that kept limescaling frequently and leaking after a year, I thought time for a change. IKettle looks lovely, connected to WiFi straightaway and works every time, even on 4G miles away from house. Alexa doesn’t work (would say this is Amazon’s fault) but who cares, just use phone App. After 3 months no sign of limescale. Only gripe is no water level viewing window on kettle but this may cause limescale/leaks!

This is a top product and is extremely easy to setup and get started with..I find the app easy and works brilliant with Alexa..having the ability to boil your water just before you come down in the morning is brill..only thing you have to do is makesure the water level is topped up…if you been thinking of getting ibe of these I would highly recommend
This smart kettle is excellent, it can be a bit fiddly to setup the app on your phone but once it’s done it works well. Notifies you when it’s completed boiling and will keep the water at the temperature you’ve set for a period of your choosing. It’s not the quietest kettle when boiling but we wouldn’t be without it. Highly recommended

Brilliant kettle, love the ability to control via app, Alexa and IFTTT. When my alarm goes off via echo spot the kettle boils ready for me to have a quick cuppa before I go to work!
Was not very impressed at first as I had a nightmare setting it up following the instructions. I had two other people try who also had the same issue so I knew it wasn’t me. Tried it again the next day and it set up strait away. Now it’s working i find it is great so much better than the first model and better build. It’s not cheap but to have the kettle boiled when I walk in the door is worth it. I only put four stars due to the setup issue.
We absolutely love this kettle. We use it 99% of the time via Alexa and being to shout “Alexa put the kettle on” and then head to the kitchen two minutes later knowing its boiled is just brilliant and makes the tea making chore much faster and more fun. We no longer have to stand in the cold kitchen while the kettle boils. Love it. Would not go back.

Love having the ability to start my water (to my desired temperature) whilst laying in bed a little longer. The kettle itself is excellent, holds a good amount of water, and heats to the correct temperatures.
Downgrading to 4 stars for 2 reasons: 1) The app itself is hit or miss. Sometimes I have to shut it down and re-open it for it to send the signal to the kettle. 2) The deciding factor for my purchase was its Google Assistant connectivity. However, neither my husband nor myself have managed to get the kettle to heat using Google Assistant or our Google Home.
Fantastic Kettle! every one laughed when they heard I’d spent this much on a kettle but it was a great gift for my hot drink loving batter half. He sets alarms for the kettle to switch on as he is getting up and we are able to boil the kettle as we park the car when we get home. We have also connected it to Alexa so can ask her to switch it on from another room. it is really easy to set uo with an app on your phone and simple to connect with Amazon as it is a recognised, compatible app- just remember to fill it up after you use it ready for next time!
So my new Smarter 3rd generation kettle arrived today and Smarter didn’t take long about getting it out to me I must say, 2 days from the UK and I’m based in Ireland.. I have been fortunate enough to have had the 1st and 2nd generation ikettle’s from Smarter and all I can say is that with every new edition comes more greatness from Smarter. This company really knows what they’re doing, sure there’s plenty of smart kettles out there, but it’s the quality and finish of the product; it’s both solid and slick. There’s nothing plasticity or flimbsey about this kettle. The software is straight and to the point, nothing complicated and it does exactly what it should ,except now with the new generation 3.0 if you have an Amazon echo or echo dot you can now activate the kettle via Alexa by enabling it through the Alexa skills app . So far it gets the 5 stars from me. Keep up the good work. Might try there fridge cam next…keep an eye out..

Amazing! The 3rd generation ikettle works perfect with Google assistant. All I say is ‘put the kettle on’, and it works perfect. The app is very informative, it even uses Geo location and can be set up to boil when you return home without having to tell Google/Alexa etc… I definitely recommend. The only downfall is that (I may just need to figure it out) Google doesn’t tell you how many cups are left or how much water is left, you need to access the app. It is early days though for me as I’ve only had it a day but so far, I’m impressed.

The coffee maker is elegant and easy to use. I love being able to control with my phone and Google Home Assistant. The color plates are a nice touch. My only negative about this coffee maker is the post-brew warming time maximum is 40 minutes. I’m used to a standard 2 hours but when I contacted the company this doesn’t seem to be something they plan to update as it’s apparently a “health and safety regulation” (maybe in europe since the machine is european?) You cant even manually push the button to restart warmer, it will just tell you there’s not enough water and will not turn on.
Additionally, you have to remove the carafe to access the filter. Which isn’t a big deal but a learning curve in process from other machines I’ve owned.
I absolutely love this kettle! Works well with Alexa and didn’t have too much trouble setting up. I love the home mode which has the kettle boiling as soon as I drive into my street!
Will just have to get into the habit of making sure it’s always filled.

This kettle is well made, has a large volume, can handle only a small amount of water if that is what you want, sets up easily as long as you use the Smarter app, and integrates well with Alexa. Only citicism is that it takes a long time to automatically turn off after it has started boiling. I am tempted to keep it full at 90 centigrade all the time and then boil it when needed. Not sure whether this will save electicity or use more compared to boiling from cold.

Now I have the Smarter account linked to IFTT, Smartthings and Amazon Alexa and all play nicely together.
Alexa works by saying “Alexa, Put the Kettle on” and on it goes.
Smartthings integration with motion sensors works well so in the morning when I get out of bed and walk down stairs the kitchen lights turn on and the Kettle starts to boil.

I love these kettles I had the 1st generation, and now have the 3rd they are fantastic nothing wrong with my 1st generation just liked the look of the 3 rd
I bought the original iKettle, but after 3 years the lid broke (actually the 2nd time,the first they fixed under warranty), so bought this one in a black friday sale. This new one is more secure in the way it pairs and it’s connection to the local network, but has a downside that if your network is down (like if your ISP is broken) then you can’t use the app to boil the kettle. With the v1 and v2 kettle you didn’t need a working internet connection, but with the v3 you do. Also if Smarter ever decide to turn off their cloud servers (i.e. if they closed down) the kettle won’t work remotely via the app anymore. Of course, you can still go and push the button on the front.
Compared to v1 it boils a lot faster (higher kw?), and having a display of both temperature and water level is awesome. But the app has some downsides as it requires a few extra button presses from startup to get to push the boil button, and it seems to run continuously in the background as when I’m away I still get notifications whenever my wife boils the kettle.
Simple to connect although it did take two goes. I think the problem is camera/light related as i see others having the same problem. with good light the second time it worked fine.

smart kettle`s easy to use only down load software smart 3.00 from play store, if you have more than one use, you must have invite users in the control manual on the top left, in my samsung galaxy note 8.

I had a Smarter iKettle 2.0 which developed connectivity issues. The lovely support people at Smarter asked me to send the base in for analysis, which I did. My Smarterlessness household were not happy, I can tell you.
However, Smarter were speedy: within a day of receiving the faulty base they emailed to say they’d be sending me a 3rd Generation base. No fuss. No quibbles. Just like that. And, oh, let me tell you: it’s a thing of beauty. The new app is vastly improved, the connectivity is so much simpler, everything works like a dream, I am a happy customer and light has returned to our lives.
It’s not just the product you buy with Smarter, but the service, ongoing support and slightly more human teenagers to live with. Is this worth the money? Damn right it is.
We had an old Smarter kettle and had trouble with connectivity. I emailed the Customer Services team and the response was AMAZING- second to none. To cut a long story short, we now have a Generation 3 as a replacement and it is absolutely amazing. No problem with connecting this one! Very impressed indeed and would highly recommend- especially bearing in mind the security of the excellent support team.
Brilliant gadget the setup instructions are not very good but got it going eventually have been very impressed by how easy it is to use and setting aside the smart features it is a very good kettle in its own right and for the money very good value especially since I bought another well known make of kettle 3 weeks earlier and it fused for which I paid 50 so an extra 26 for this quality of product is grea
does what it says on the tin, very happy with it. some minor issues when app upgraded but sorted quickly. connect to wifi easily and always works well – only issue is keep forgetting to refill it which makes the remote use an issue but that’s a user problem
Love the iKettle, lets me know how many cups are left, and also I can set it as a timer to come on when I’m due home from work. It also works perfectly off Alexa (if u know what your doing) for anyone unsure what to do, you’ve got to add it in as a single group on Alexa and name it.. Hope that helps!
Had an initial problem with a sticky button on the base. We received the new base today and the kettle is working well.
We have connected it to our Amazon Echo and Echo dots and it works seamlessly!
Smarter provided excellent support when solving our issue, customer service as it should be!
ikettle is a smart kettle that turns a kettle into a device connected to the internet. I especially liked it as I hate having to wait for the kettle to boil when I get up in the morning before work. It has an app with apple watch that works great.
It works as intended however it loses a point for not having a physical indicator on the kettle to give water level which is useful if you start kettle manually. For it to give accurate measurements it has to be on hard surface – on my microwave it gives false low amount of water reading
Also notifications go to all users connected to kettle and not just the person who turned on the kettle.
I would have also liked it if it connected to logitech harmony, apple homekit and for there to be a widget on ios.
And it took me 30 minutes to setup, as mentioned must choose smarter 3.0.

After already owning the 2nd Gen iKettle I was looking forward to the integration of Alexa and Google Home.
First of all the new 3rd Gen is AMAZING. You’d never think that being able to just say, “Alexa, turn on the kettle” or Hey Google, turn on the kettle, would make much of a difference but it does and it’s brilliant. It works each and every time and the temperature of the water is bang on. I would and have recommended this 3rd Gen iKettle to all. I have the limited edition white one and it’s gorgeous.
Reasonably easy to set up. Works very well. It useful to be able to turn the kettle on from the bedroom when getting up, or a couple of minutes before the end of a TV programme, so that it’s boiled ready to make a pot of tea.
Right, don’t know where to start with this one, yes works with Alexa which is great! but I also wanted it to work with Samsung Smartthings and the automated home. The Smarter Kettle was always a brilliant idea and my previous Ikettle was good, but now the company have introduced IFTTTT which is a major step forward, so I went to work on integrating it in my home with things like, ” if time is between 05:00 and 05:30 and motion is detected in kitchen then switch kettle on, and managed to get it to work with my Netatmo face recognition camera, so for instance when I return from work and I am seen on the camera then boil the kettle. I have only had it a couple of days so I haven’t had chance to go to town yet. OK so about the Kettle, its sleek, doesn’t melt your cupboards with steam when boiled, has lots of functions like “keep warm”, “Geofencing” so when you arrive close to home “boil”, Change temperature for tea types, control with phone if you like!, anyway I love it “well done Smarter, can I have auto fill in Version 4 please! I would be quite happy to tap it into the cw feed, anyway its a must for the current and future home and the support is great so get one!
Oh! last thing yes using a virtual switch it will work with Smartthings so the possibilities are endless as far as integration.
I have had this ikettle for several weeks now and have found it very convienent and useful in every day life! The fact I can wake up or arrive home after a busy day of work and my ikettle is already boiled saves time and effort especially for those who have a busy lifestyle!
The smarter app itself was easy to download and setup within a few minutes, and now my phone is connected automatically to it all the time through my Wi-Fi network!
I highly recommend this smart kettle to anyone! It’s a great little gadget that I would be lost without now!!
We’ve had this for over a week now and absolutely love it. Unpacking and set up was easy. Although the instructions for downloading the app say to search for ‘ikettle’ but it’s actually called ‘smarter’. We use it via the app and it works great. Can set it to boil on a morning while getting dressed etc. Also has a baby formula setting which you can custom set the desired temp for your baby’s bottle. Can use it as a conventional kettle too if needed. Overall I think it’s great and looks the part in our kitchen. Can’t wait to get the coffee machine too!
Amazing product. Really easy to set up (less than 5 minutes). Love how i can set which temperature i want the water to boil, specially having 2 toddlers at home. No longer have to wait 5-10 minutes until my cup of coffee is drinkable. Best feature water is nice and hot as soon as i arrive home!! 5 stars!!
This is a great addition to any Smart home. As a gadget mad bloke I love the ability to boil this kettle by asking Alexa. The built in Geo fence in the app is great and I even have IFTTT send me a text once its boiled. If you too are gadget mad then get one. Don’t waste time waiting for a watched kettle to boil. I have already got the coffee maker and cant wait to play with it.
This is a fantastic product. It’s looks great, it performs great and it cost was well worth it. We will not go back. Being able to work the product on my way home is great.
Received my new toy on Friday so we had a whole weekend to play with it before reviewing. Setting up took a bit of time due to user error (typical bloke not reading instructions correctly) app loaded up on IOS and Android and is very easy to use. iKettle is connected to Alexa so when I have company I can just ask her to boil it. While many may see this as a lazy persons toy, I see it as an opportunity to get 2 extra minutes in bed!
It is also a great topic of conversation at work, as the app will still switch on the kettle! All I need is to set up the camera so I can show my colleagues.
Great product. Great quality and style. Very easy to use and setup for the first time. Got all the functions you would expect a smart kettle to have. Looking forward to the next smarter product for my home. Easy to setup on 2 phones. App is easy to use and very functional. No more waiting in a cold kitchen I’m the morning for the boil. Set from bed and wait till done then brave the cold for my morning brew.
Superb product, easy to setup, simple to use, the app is quick and works brilliantly. Love the fact as I near my home my kettle boils! . The auto boil at preset times is also perfect, saves 3 minutes looking at the rain every morning… Life changing!!

What can I say love it goes great with my alexa
The iKettle idea is great, and I love it. I was unlucky and my kettlebase was faulty. It can boil, but the app. shows wrong waterlevel. The waterlevel is important so you can tell if there is enough water in the iKettle before you ask it to boil your water. Smarters customers service tried to help me, but was not succesfull. I was sorry to find out, that I have to bare the expenses to send it back to the company. (I live in Denmark) The issue was straight out of the box, so good service would have been to send me a new base, and a return label for the faulty one. That is what a great company would do, and that would easy have earned them 5 stars. Now I can’t use my iKettle before the base has been returned to Smarter and they have fixed and returned it to me. (If you live in the UK Smarter will email you a return label)
Works well. In box instructions advise the the 2nd gen app which is wrong, which made set up tedious. App is a little clunky as it seems to be designed for someone with multiple smarter.am devices at multiple locations. Lastly the IFTTT applet has to keep original name otherwise it seems the iKettle wont talk to it. Once I had it all working, I am very happy with it.
A good kettle, and works really well once it is set up. Has a number of useful modes (baby formula, keep warm, turn the kettle on when your phone gets home). The problem I had was that the instructions tell you to search for the ikettle app on Google play, but the app you actually need is called “smarter 3.0”. A search for ikettle brings up two older apps (that can’t be used to manage the version 3 ikettle) but not the one you need.
Finally IFTTT integration! Just a shame I had to spend another 99 less than a year after I bought the Smarter kettle. I can understand if they made design changes but I put the kettles side by side and apart from a logo change there is no difference. Feel the leap from 2.0 to 3 could have been achieved with a software update. The Blinkup technology works well which should eliminate the previous setup problems users had. The new app is more streamlined and user friendly. With IFTTT and Alexa integration this is everything the Smarter Kettle should have been.
This is a wicked product if you like automation 🙂 little bug with syncing to IFTTT but got round it with the help of their great help desk. Simply remove your google sign in to IFTTT and then use your email for your account. Works brilliantly, check out the video!
