Great customer service and I love my kettle. Thank you so much wouldn’t be without this kettle!

First the negative part. All negatives are relative, however.

The first time I tried to set up, I couldn’t get it to connect using the Smarter app. I was about to send it back. I tried again, and realised it was operator error, coupled with slightly ‘incomplete’ instructions. It might have been just me.

Once sorted, I quickly got Siri and Alexa (in my case ‘Computer’) on side, and I was set.

You can boil the iKettle using the app, by telling Alexa to, or Siri to do it. Or, by touching the button on the iKettle (easy to do old ‘skool’). The Smarter app enables notifications to let you know: the water level, the temperature, etc. It also sends notifications to your device to tell you it’s done.

The water level indicator (through the app, as there’s no physical water indicator on the kettle) is so useful. If I want to ask the app, Siri or Alexa to boil the kettle, I can check there’s enough water on the app beforehand. Of course, if I’m by it, I can open the lid and look, and just press the button.

The water heats nice and quickly, and you can set different temperatures for different drinks. Boiling for tea, lower for instant coffee, green tea, etc. You can set the right temp for them all and it’ll do it.

I have loads of smart gadgets and lights at home, and was a bit dubious about a simple kettle. But, I’m so pleased I got it and love it as it does so much more than simply turning on and off.

OK, I’m a bit of a nerd, but I’d recommend this to anyone who likes a gadget that’s practical and adaptable.

I will also vouch for the after-sales service. Good advice through the app and really helpful.

I want to try more of the Smarter products.

Love this kettle. Makes working life with a toddler much easier. Daughter has had one for 4 years.

Woke up this morning to a boiled kettle, that saves me waiting 4 minutes 30 seconds just in the morning waiting for my old one to boil, genius, that’s over 27 hours a year saving just for one boil of the kettle every day, in reality this will save me at least a couple of days a year waiting for a kettle to boil. I’ve never been so excited over a kettle. Well done Smarterps no dodgy taste in the water that you get from a new kettle either. Result.

Works with Alexa perfectly no connection issues and really convenient to use. The Kettle is quite large ( a bit larger than standard kettles) but not so much that would make it look out of place.
Keep warm functions and boiling work fine. I would recommend.

iKettle 3 helps boil water to the preferred temperature for every individual family member to pour straight out for tea, coffee and a hot or look-warm drink, based on requirements and are spot on, avoiding diluting guesswork.
The manual touch to boil button on base looks very nice, instead of many buttons. It auto boils for your preset time and with home mode activated, will boil kettle by the time you get home, saving that precious waiting time.

It was a breeze to setup once instructions followed and Siri Shortcuts added.
The only sticking point was when WiFi router was changed and needed hard reset and support team have done a great work and been very helpful.

Smarter products, in my view, are the Teslas of the Kitchen and the interest will get bigger once more people become aware of the possibilities especially with Siri shortcuts for tea, coffee or manual preset so Smarter, keep up the great work.

Great product unit it stopped working with Alex after a1 and a half years

I had the earlier iKettle and while it was fun to be able to boil via the app, it wasn’t nearly as useful as the new generation that works with Alexa and Google Assistant. Now to be able to say “Turn on the Kettle” without looking for your phone and opening the app is great. And of course it still works fine as a conventional kettle!

I love having a WiFi kettle for reasons I can’t really explain. I like being able to boil the kettle and then get up when it’s ready rather than staying at it and waiting.
Only one niggle for me, sometimes the geofencing feature can be a bit hit and miss, but I live close to work so I think that is the reason for this on occasion. I like that I can set the kettle to boil on specific time schedules which helps with my morning routine, especially when I’m getting up at silly o’clock.

The first one of these I had was broken, but thankfully it was replaced very quickly. The kettle is a breeze to set up… If you can see. Unfortunately I can’t, which meant I had to rely on someone else to hold my phone over the base in exactly the correct position. Hopefully the company will address this, as otherwise it’s a nicely accessible piece of kit. Once set up, ,we discovered that, due to its poor wireless pick up, we needed to install an extender in our kitchen. Not a problem as we had a spare, but a bit poor, as other gadgets down there were happily picking up the signal. That said, once it was installed, the kettle worked beautifully. I could change the temperature and start it boiling. Google and Alexa integration were perfect and easy to set up, and the kettle worked like a dream first time. Be aware that the outer skin does get hot if, like me, you’re someone who needs to touch the kettle before they pour. We solved this by sewing a neoprene cover for the jug and it’s worked fine for me ever since. I still use this kettle on a daily basis, and love it as much as the day I bought it. It might seem expensive, but for someone who finds it difficult to walk around, or for somebody who actually quite fancies having a hot kettle ready to go right when they get in from work, this is just perfect. My one tip? Remember to always fill it with water after you’ve finished! It doesn’t have a cut switch if it’s empty, so this is really, really important.

I got this for Christmas and it is fantastic. It works loads better than I hoped it would. Set up was a simple enough, although it was a bit strange holding a flashing mobile screen to the underside of the kettle base (I’ve never seen this before), but it worked well enough. Once done, use IFTTT to set it up with Google Home. I’ve used “boil the kettle” as our key phrase and it is as simple as saying those words and she boils away. I also use the alarm clock function, so it’s waiting for me piping hot every morning when I get up. No more stood in the cold waiting for the kettle to boil.

The only way I could improve this is if the App would alert you in the evening if the kettle water volume was below a certain level, e.g. 2 cups worth, so you remember to fill it up, or introduced a widget for my Android home screen to show it without going into the App. Minor suggestions that will hopefully come with future App releases.

Well worth buying.

Love using this – I’m a bit of a gadget guy and as soon as I wake in the morning I ask the ever willing Alexa with boil the kettle for me – just a shame she doesn’t bring it to bed for me 🙁

Good quality – pours well and lots of bits i don’t use on the app but will probably play with later. Very happy and no issues so far 1 month in to owning it 🙂

We absolutely love this kettle. We use it 99% of the time via Alexa and being to shout “Alexa put the kettle on” and then head to the kitchen two minutes later knowing its boiled is just brilliant and makes the tea making chore much faster and more fun. We no longer have to stand in the cold kitchen while the kettle boils. Love it. Would not go back.

I’ve buy ikettle 3.0 from Italy.
It’s a powerful kitchen iot device.
It can be started by app or by button in base.
You can choose temperature and timers everywhere.
Good work smarter.

Really good product, nice and simple to set up. There are two apps on the Android store you need version 3.0, I’d give it 5 star if it was quicker to boil.

Excellent, very pleased with it, can get Alexa to turn on from lounge and alerts via app when boiled, offers geo fencing to turn on when arriving home, also offers keep warm

Love the new version (3rd Gen) of this kettle its so much better than the original much quieter and the Lid fits nicely.
The App is very good and you can see the company has come along way in a short time.

I love these kettles I had the 1st generation, and now have the 3rd they are fantastic nothing wrong with my 1st generation just liked the look of the 3 rd

Great addition to my house. Simple to add to my phone and get access to the network.
Its a proper solid ketting. Sturdy. And not cheap feeling. Seems to boil quicker than my previous kettle.

Brilliant gadget the setup instructions are not very good but got it going eventually have been very impressed by how easy it is to use and setting aside the smart features it is a very good kettle in its own right and for the money very good value especially since I bought another well known make of kettle 3 weeks earlier and it fused for which I paid 50 so an extra 26 for this quality of product is grea

ikettle is a smart kettle that turns a kettle into a device connected to the internet. I especially liked it as I hate having to wait for the kettle to boil when I get up in the morning before work. It has an app with apple watch that works great.
It works as intended however it loses a point for not having a physical indicator on the kettle to give water level which is useful if you start kettle manually. For it to give accurate measurements it has to be on hard surface – on my microwave it gives false low amount of water reading
Also notifications go to all users connected to kettle and not just the person who turned on the kettle.
I would have also liked it if it connected to logitech harmony, apple homekit and for there to be a widget on ios.
And it took me 30 minutes to setup, as mentioned must choose smarter 3.0.

After already owning the 2nd Gen iKettle I was looking forward to the integration of Alexa and Google Home.
First of all the new 3rd Gen is AMAZING. You’d never think that being able to just say, “Alexa, turn on the kettle” or Hey Google, turn on the kettle, would make much of a difference but it does and it’s brilliant. It works each and every time and the temperature of the water is bang on. I would and have recommended this 3rd Gen iKettle to all. I have the limited edition white one and it’s gorgeous.
