Star Wars Battlefront 2 for the PS4 is an exceptional gaming experience that has taken me on an exhilarating journey through the Star Wars universe. As an elite special forces soldier, the game offers a compelling and emotionally gripping new campaign that bridges the events between Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, spanning over 30 years.

The game’s campaign immerses players in an epic adventure, where I found myself equally lethal on the ground and in space. The seamless transition between ground combat and thrilling space battles kept me on the edge of my seat. The opportunity to pilot legendary starfighters and take down massive capital ships in high-stakes dogfights with up to 24 players and 40 AI ships made each mission an adrenaline-pumping experience.

One of the standout features of Star Wars Battlefront 2 is the two-player offline split-screen play. Teaming up with a friend from the comfort of the couch enhanced the cooperative gameplay, providing countless hours of fun and excitement. The reward system and customization options for troopers and heroes further added depth to the game, allowing me to tailor my characters to my preferred playstyle.

The online multiplayer battleground offered a dynamic and challenging experience, where I could bring my well-earned upgrades and customized characters. The character progression system allowed me to master my craft and unlock unique abilities for each hero, trooper class, and starfighter. This sense of progression and personalization kept me invested in the game for hours on end.

Graphically, Star Wars Battlefront 2 is a masterpiece, capturing the iconic Star Wars universe with stunning detail and authenticity. From the asteroid fields to the Imperial Dock Yards, every location felt alive and true to the beloved franchise. The attention to detail in the design of starfighters, troopers, and heroes is commendable and contributed to the overall immersive experience.

Moreover, the game’s audio design deserves special mention, as it perfectly captures the iconic sound effects and musical themes from the Star Wars universe. The familiar hum of lightsabers, the roar of starfighters, and the epic soundtrack elevate the gaming experience to a whole new level of immersion.

In addition to the campaign and multiplayer modes, Star Wars Battlefront 2 offers a variety of exciting gameplay options, including arcade mode and various challenges. These provide a great opportunity for solo play, honing skills, and unlocking rewards.

The post-launch support for the game is worth applauding. The developers have consistently provided updates, introducing new content, characters, and maps, keeping the gaming experience fresh and engaging. The commitment to improving the game and listening to the community’s feedback is evident in these updates.

Furthermore, the ability to play as iconic heroes and villains from the Star Wars saga is a dream come true for any fan. The diverse roster includes characters like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Rey, Kylo Ren, and many more, each with their unique abilities and playstyles. These thrilling hero battles add another layer of excitement to the game.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is not just a game; it’s an experience that transports players to a galaxy far, far away. The attention to detail, captivating storytelling, and exceptional gameplay combine to create a truly immersive and unforgettable adventure for Star Wars fans and gamers alike.

In conclusion, Star Wars Battlefront 2 for the PS4 is an outstanding gaming masterpiece that any Star Wars fan or gaming enthusiast would thoroughly enjoy. With its emotionally gripping campaign, thrilling space battles, offline split-screen play, customizable character progression, and continuous post-launch support, it has exceeded my expectations in every way.

If you want to embark on an epic Star Wars adventure and become part of the galaxy far, far away, I wholeheartedly recommend Star Wars Battlefront 2. May the force be with you as you jump into the boots of an elite special forces soldier and experience the epic battles and emotional storytelling that await you. May your journey in the Star Wars universe be filled with excitement, camaraderie, and memorable moments that will stay with you long after you put down the controller.

his is one for the history books for sure .. it had one of the roughest launches in gaming history with EA’s lootbox scam dragging the star wars name through the dirt basically . but it’s honestly one of the best games out there now . graphics are stunning on a ps4 pro and the gameplay is awesome with some of the best multiplayer out there . if you don’t own this do yourself a favor and pick it up !

Great game, amazing graphics, the single player campaign is blowing me away. Multiplayer is fun, yes the loading times are long, yes you sometimes die fast, but I’m getting better with practice. After playing PS3 games and mobile games this is so refreshing. I don’t take the energy devs put in for granted as us gamers have super high expectations.

If they are happy playing then I’m happy.

I have been a Star Wars fan since I was three and from age six when I got my first proper set I wanted to play a Star Wars video game. I was nine when my friend introduced me to the game and at first the controls were pretty confusing so when you start out and you’re confused with controls don’t let that get in your way of playing it. Then in January this year (2020) I got Star Wars battlefront ii and have been playing for around 7 months now and it is great!
Though to get the best out of the game you have to get a ps plus membership (for ps4 players only though) which costs for one month around 6.99 but I do not know the process for Xbox players though (sorry).

If you aren’t allowed to get a ps plus membership you can just do the single player things which are: Instant action (the best mode because it has all the multiplayer maps), Arcade (which gets boring after a while because it’s mostly just inside maps and they aren’t that big as Instant action’s), Tutorial (which you do to hone your skills), Battle scenario (which gives you different things to do the whole time) and finally Campaign (which is great if you want to do lots of different levels in a big story and is real fun). If you are allowed to get a ps plus membership you can get so many different things in battlefront ii, including Ewok hunt which is great fun when you play with a friend.

Best game ever and I hope you enjoyed my review!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersAs someone who adores Star Wars, and the original Battlefronts, I was fuming to see the 2015 EA version chopped up into DLCs and poor base game content with no story or deep battlefield like gameplay. Was a husk of the originals.

When EA released this in 2017, I was digusted to see the monetization and predatory microtranstions in a paid for, full RRP game. So I and others boycotted, we voted with our wallets.

Gamers stood up and we refused to buy, and governments started sueing for lootbox controversy. This sparked the Disney CEO to sort EA out, and before you know it, the microtransactions impacting gameplay and lootboxes are gone. With regular free updates and a huge community growing in 2019 for the Celebration Edition.

So in 2019, happy with the revisited reviews and positive scores, I bought the Celebration Edition.

With that out the way: this game is bloody fantastic. If you enjoy shooters alone: tactical or strategic gameplay, teamwork or communication, this game is excellent. If you like Star Wars on top of that? Then this game is a DREAM come TRUE, the ultimate collab between the Star Wars IP and great multiplayer game design. So many good modes encompassing all eras, excellent sound design but a short and somewhat predictable story (if you want a solo singleplayer Star Wars story, play Fallen Order, this is more multiplayer orientated hence why I can brush it off and ignore)

Buy used and upgrade to Celebration Edition for all comestic skins (PS Store)

I’ll happily boycott EA for bad practices, but I’ll happy support them if they do it right. Apex Legends, Jedi Fallen Order and now this, I’ve bought into all 3 this year. Vote with your wallet.

I’m glad to say the original Battlefronts have a worthy successor.

This game is the greatest comeback of this generation.

Having loved the original Star Wars Battlefront 2 on the Playstation 2, I was really disappointed to hear that the game launched poorly and decided against purchasing it until roughly 2 years after its release. Now I can confidently say it is the best Star Wars multiplayer game ever released on console and for just 16 is a must have. The single player story line is okay, nothing overly special, but the multiplayer especially the big 20 v 20 maps is exactly what the first Star Wars Battlefront brought to PS4 should have been. A great selection of jedi and villains, a great selection of maps and a number of really good and interesting game modes.

This game took a lot of flak upon release (quite rightly so regarding the ‘loot crate’ scandal). Taking the game itself in isolation, it is actually quite fun. It looks and sounds incredible (especially on ps4 pro), I completed the single-player campaign and enjoyed it whilst spending a smaller amount of time on multiplayer. At this stage given the deep discounts it is definitely worth a look.

Was blown away with the space battles in this game. Feels like you are in a movie straight after The Return of the Jedi. Graphics and frame rate are very good. The physics are also very fluid and responsive from flying behind an x wing or firing a laser blaster on a rebel cruiser. The AI is good which enemies trying to flank you. If you enjoyed the original Star Wars films this is a must buy.

New large-scale game mode that feels like the old Battlefront 2, new heroes, new maps (Geonosis and Naboo), improved gunplay, Droidekas, a Felucia map coming later this year… honestly cannot recommend this game enough with the updates they’ve made, especially for SW fans.

This is a fun Star Wars game in my opinion better than the first. Plenty of heroes and a ton of maps from all eras make it an enjoyable game to play online. Plenty of game modes as well including the most recent capital supremacy which is a lot of fun. The graphics and sound are great and has a campaign as well. Although the campaign isn’t great and it’s short but still worth a play through. The game does have Plenty of bugs and glitches so can be frustrating to play sometimes. But overall a fun game worth checking out and dice are still adding content. Forget anything you’ve heard about this game in terms of it being pay to win it’s not anymore and If you like Star Wars and haven’t played this yet you need to get i

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThis game got significant bad press before and after its release – and rightly so. Micro-transactions facilitated a pay to win system, which meant that to really progress you had to invest more real money in a game that already cost 50-60. I’ve been playing since day 1, I never invested more money into the game but nevertheless enjoyed the gameplay itself.

At it’s core, Battlefront 2 is a brilliantly fun game, with great variety in content and gamemodes – not to mention the singleplayer campaign that is a nice little addition. Since launch, DICE spent months reworking the fundamental aspects of the game – completely removing the pay-to-win mechanics and introducing a more typical progression system that is similar to their Battlefield franchise. The more you play, the more experience you gain, which in turn allows you to unlock better gear for your troopers, heroes, villains or starfighters. Furthermore, the content has been significantly increased since launch. DICE have introduced Obi-Wan, General Grevious, Count Dooku and Anakin Skywalker into the game as playable heroes, whilst creating some brand new gamemodes such as Captial Supremacy (a conquest style, command post capturing sandbox), Ewok Hunt (a night-time stint at Ewoks vs. Stormtroopers – a thrillingly spooky rendition of Return of the Jedi), and Extraction.
More planets and maps have been added and are being added, as are new hero/villain/clone trooper appearances. In fact, apart from most of the original content from launch, you’d be forgiven for thinking that this was an entirely different game from the controversial Battlefront 2 of 2017. This is a live-service game that EA have recently pledged more support for, certainly for the remainder of 2019 and probably 2020. Developers seem excited rather than despondent about the game’s future, and the community are increasingly loving it.

This game is not the game that inspired government to introduce laws banning micro-transactions (as a sort of gambling) in gaming. It is a beautiful shooter that encapsulates the world and sound of Star Wars, but most of all is an exceptionally fun game to play. At the price it is these days buying this is an absolute bargain, as I would happily pay full price for a game that is constantly evolving thanks to increased support from the developers.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersFeels greatly improved from the first ‘current-gen’ instalment. The single player was enjoyable even though the missions felt fairly similar just held in different environments.

The multiplayer action is where the game excels, since launch there has been vasts amounts of changes to how the updates and content are released which is good to see given how poorly things started. Big maps, lots of players and plenty of customisation available to players though lower ranked players new to the game may struggle against higher ranked players who have unlocked more abilities.

I’d like better focus on the Galactic Republic and Trade Federation mainly because the films from that era were probably the least valued…

…but overall it’s a good game regardless of whether you are a die hard fan of the Star Wars universe.

The campaign is not bad, nothing enthralling and rather short but atleast it has one now. The multiplayer is extremely fun, I am not one for competitive PVP games but I am really getting into this, I imagine it’s a lot better with a large group of friends though rather than just random people. The graphics are exceptional and the voice and sound work is fantastic too. If you are a Star Wars fan there is nothing not to love about this game.

I like this game. It gets a bad rep and rightly so for the loot boxes and if I had known before I ordered the game then I would of had second thoughts. But, that aside, the game is fun. The campaign is crap but probably gets you used to the gameplay for online play which is what I just use it for. I like the air fighting better than the ground but both have there good points. Just wish I waited a bit longer to get it as it is cheap to buy now.
But if people are wondering if it is worth buying, well, if you enjoy online play then get it but if it is just for the poo campaign then wait till it comes down in price for a fiver as you will be wasting your money.

Fast forward to this title and it’s much better. The campaign is slick and I personally bought into the characters and the plot line. If I was in a Galaxy far, far away a long time ago, then I would of visited the Imperial Careers day and applied to join Inferno Squad.

The DLC is being released slowly BUT it’s FREE. We’ve just had some new story missions which were great and another map for multiplayer.

The whole ‘pay to win’ and ‘loot boxes’ saga is not really apparent. Whilst you can buy them for in game credit or real money, they aren’t really shoving it in my face. The things that they offer aren’t really much of a game changer. I have spent zero on them and I am not disadvantaged and I am also having a great time.

Multiplayer is a little slow to load but once in, it’s great. Stunning to look at and very engrossing.

Why only 4 stars? There is no social space, additional quests for weapons or hero’s to unlock cool things like modern titles are starting to do. Once you have completed the story you only have arcade and multiplayer to play.

It’s a fabulous title. Don’t let the haters put you off with stories of loot boxes and pay to win.

Much better than the last title.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFar better than the first. This isn’t just a good game, it’s a great game…probably the best Star Wars game ever made (yes, even better than Super Star Wars or X Wing)
It’s just such a shame that EA’s greed (which thankfully resulted in such a backlash that they removed the pay-to-win farce) had to tarnish the reputation of such a well-made game.
Also, the progression system isn’t a real problem now that you can’t buy your way to success.. If anything, this system makes the game more interesting. I often lose interest in a game once I’ve unlocked everything, but because there’s a degree of chance to progression (you never know what cards you’ll get in the next crate) it keeps you interested, and just slightly addicted. That said, the other side of the system is that if you’re not lucky enough to get the cards you want, you can save up crafting parts, which you receive in every crate, and use them to make the card/upgrade you’ve been aiming for.
It’s a very good system that supplies the excitement of chance, without limiting your options if you dont get lucky. Nothing is unobtainable.
As a former professional reviewer for magazines, I’ve come across the pay-to-win monster all too often, but this time the consumer won, and we got a genuinely great game without having to pay for map packs (they will all be free), or cynically-injected microtransactions.
This game now needs support from the playerbase. As it stands, we’ve finally got a good deal, and we need to show EA that this is what we expect, by now getting out our wallets, and showing them that we’ll pay out when the deal is right.

Not sure why there are so many bad reviews, I think the developers must have updated the game as it doesn’t cost that many credits anymore to buy the Heroes, credits that you earn plenty of in the game as I haven’t spent any of my own money for buying credits. Campaign mode is also very good and connects nicely into the new saga of Star Wars! I would recommend this game.

Battlefront 2 gives us the campaign which was missing from Battlefront 1. For those who think the campaign is short, they obviously haven’t played it all the way to the end! Plus there’s the ongoing free campaign DLC including ‘Resurrection’ where you play an older Iden Versio with elements of The Last Jedi. People who give this game 1 star obviously don’t enjoy Star Wars or video games and think that being a contrarian makes them edgy and cool.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI got this for christmas and I loved the PS2 ones which were fantastic. The first one on the PS4 was a let down and this is what the first one should have been. The game looks and feels great.

Campaign is a bit short and the main focus is on online play. Which is fair but for a balanced player who enjoys both single and multiplayer a bigger campaign would have been a bonus. The story is great and it kept me entertained for a few days whilst mixing it up with online play.
I personally enjoy the starfighter online games so those are fantastic.
You earn currency to buy packs and then upgrade your perks etc.

I enjoy this and see myself spending quiet a bit of time on this online.

Would be fantastic if there could be an update to add a bit more to single player.

Other than that a fantastic game that has the potential to be better.

The games are now really enjoyable, especially heroes vs villains, the lag has decreased hugely, all the classes have become more balanced, and the addition of the Last Jedi season has given me a new challenge, and an easy way to rank up. Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI sort of glad of the bad reviews as I got this game at the reduced price and have been very pleasantly surprised

This game is literally a star wars fan’s wet dream.

Considering the hate the campaign mode has received I was expecting a tacked on string of multiplayer maps with terrible Ai bots. What you really get it a thoughtful and engaging ( if not quite believable) story about a defecting special forces stormtrooper. It does not feel tacked on. Its really well done with superb battles. And I love the interludes with the other heroes and the stunningly fleshed out sets from the films.

The seemless transfer from shooting on the ground to epic space battles. Omg.

seriously guys what do you want these days?

imo this is a million times better than Destiny 2 and many more of the AAA games I’ve baught this year. The gunfights are epic the scenery is epic. Many of the maps I just had to stop and stare at the awesomeness of it all. Im playing in pro so don’t know if it is different on a normal. The main initial campaign is far more than the 4 hours others have claimed more like 6. And it has a well defined and utterly epic ending that ties in nicely with the films. In fact the story was as good as any of the recent films.

Multiplayer wise it is battlefield with deliberately bad aiming mechanics for the lower classses. It has limited appeal to me as it is not skill based and The aiming overall feels really sloppy. You are basically cannon fodder for the better classes when you start off. So you will get killed, a lot, and very unfairly, especially at the beginning of games. untill you can upgrade your classes with good cards. And get enough kills to get the better classes. It is grind within grind within grind. With the very outer Grind recently being stopped by ea (for now). It will still feel very unfair as a noob and I’m sure many get put off by the constant deaths and grind before they get to a decent level. Of course once you get decent perks and decent level and access to the op heroes you get exponentially more points and credits etc you can become godlike player. So as I said, it’s not based on skill. You could be the best FPS player in the world but you won’t win many fights unti you have unlocked or acquired the better weapons cards heros Etc.

So it is essentially a grind to win or pay to win multiplayer game. And I despise this in games as it encourages very bad practices in players and developers that can only lead to the dark side.

you may get some enjoyment from multiplayer some battles can be epic but ultimately i found them tiresome. the mp space battles suffer the same issues, you are always unfairly outgunned by those who have grinded or payed for loot boxes to get better perks.

this is why i love overwatch, and yes it has its issues, but barring actual skill and time spent in game and internet connection issues, which should all be normally handled by matchmaking you always know that you are on a level footing with your enemies

Overall . As I said this is star wars fan’s wet dream. just being able to walk through the sets from the film is worth the entry price alone. (and the aiming feels much better in the campaign btw)

MP is for the grinders , payers, and people with a lot of patience so not for me,

but overall this is a far better game than all the hate reviews make it out to be.

Graphically, this game is great, recreating locations, characters, weapons, ships and even the visual fx associated with the Star Wars franchise with such accuracy it transports you to that galaxy far far away.

There is as much attention to detail in the audio with iconic Star Wars themes, the snap of lasers and the crackle of Lightsabers lovingly recreated. The voice acting is a little off but only in that they’re impersonations of the 1977 cast and so create a little disconnect to a nerd like me. The delivery is not a problem.

The campaign tells a good story but I got a distinct feeling that locations for multiplayer came first and then the Campaign was designed as a way to showcase these locations. Some of the missions give you a glimpse at something interesting, such as Luke’s path after the destruction of the Death Star but doesn’t flesh those out, which is disappointing but understandable given that Disney no doubt have plans for telling those stories that even EA need to be mindful of)

The multiplayer is fun, with the 4 classes, reinforcements and heroes offering a nice variety to those who want it. My personal favourite is the Starfighter portion of the multiplayer. More than any other aspect of the game, THIS feels like Star Wars. The cream of tie fighters, the chatter of pilots, the chirp of an astromech, it just feels so right. The ship handling has had a massive overhaul since the first game and now barrel rolling the Millennium Falcon between two asteroids is straightforward manoeuvre that brings a smile to this scruffy nerf herders face every time.

Obviously, you can’t review Star Wars Battlefront 2 without mentioning those microtransactions…. The current state of play is that the “Pay to Win” aspect of the game has been turned off (albeit temporarily). So my review will not go into the payment aspect. However, I would say that even as a pay to win mechanic, the progression in this game was broken because it’s completely random.

You play matches you earn currency,
    Currency Buys you Crates
Crates give you random card drops
Cards level up the Classes, Reinforcements, Heroes and Ships.
The currency must also be used to “unlock” Heroes so you’re given a choice, either improve the few characters, ships and heroes you have by buying crates, or unlock more heroes (inc Luke and Vader)

I opted for the latter because I don’t care about being “The Best” I just want the full Star Wars experience but it’s not hard to see that this progression/unlock system is broken and will never be fixed. Which is a real shame as what’s getting overlooked is how great the game is.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI will admit, I was a little cautious about buying this game and avoided buying it for over a month. The loot boxes was a massive concern, key word WAS, since the rightful public backlash of what was a blatent pay2win scheme deployed by EA games, EA have removed the crystal currency which allowed you to do this, now you earn everything through progression. They have also made the acquiring of cards and items more easier to obtain, and those complaining saying its “painful”, are likely the same people who dont want to work for anything in life and just expect things to be handed to them. Its not that bad, Ive pumped a good few days into it now and acquired quite a bit.

As for the game itself, its amazing, Im playing on the PC and maxed out on Ultra playing 4K. Its beautiful and the game play is fun, and from the people Ive played with a nice community. In essence its a Battlefield with a Star Wars skin. Id recommend people that are into online multiplayer to give this another chance and ignore the bandwagon haters.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Usersit comes up short in terms of story mode length and depth, but the multiplayer and gameplay polish itself is very well done. They learned a lot from so many iterations of FPS games I think.
The engine is so good it’s a shame that they don’t have a greater number of story-like missions to make up for the fact it is NOT an open-world game like so many new titles are now.

While this seems to have upset the diehard gamers, as an occasional player i think it’s an overreaction.
Only been playing for a few days but the new maps, weapons and heroes are great. Just wish i lasted a little longer in multiplayer. That’s where all the best fun is to be had but, as ever, it’s tough competing against the few who spend their lives on the game.
I do wish they’d bring back Skirmish mode!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersCampaign:
For the most part, the campaign is very well done. As soon as you boot up the campaign, you will feel that distinct Star Wars cinematography that we all know and love. The story is well told, and the overarching narrative is an interesting one. However, the most interesting parts of the story are arguably the beginning and end; the middle section feels like a lot of the heroes had been shoehorned in to the story, with little or no benefit to the narrative. What the middle part of the story does extremely well is introduce players to the heroes available to play in multiplayer and arcade modes. In sum, for a shooter-campaign, this is a pretty good one, but nothing too special.

    Multiplayer:
For players who want good variety – in terms of game modes, maps, and eras – multiplayer is very good at launch. In galactic assault (the largest, 40 v 40 game mode), you will find yourself going from Starkiller Base marvelling at the First Order’s chilling base, to defending the Cantina amongst a beautifully detailed Mos Eisley, to holding the Clonetrooper’s genetic coding at Kamino. Every galactic assault has it’s own three- or four-stage assault which fits into the Star Wars narrative, making each game feel important. The same goes for Starfighter Assault, Strike, and Heroes vs Villains; I would particularly like to commend the Starfighter Assault mode for making flying great again! Blast also returns for a simpler, stripped back game mode.

In terms of the class system, I think it works very well. There are four classes: Assault, Heavy, Officer, and Specialist. Each class offers it’s own play style and progression system tied to unlocking and upgrading specific weapons and abilities.
Heroes work in a similar fashion: each has unique abilities which can be unlocked and upgraded as you go.

    Pay to win:
While I think this game has some problems with the progression system, and loot crates, I don’t think it is pay to win. You will gradually unlock crates associated with whatever class(es) and hero(es) you play as, whether you choose to unlock more crates or not. The problem I do have with the crates system is that it encourages gambling. The crates that you can unlock generate random rewards, which means that, theoretically, an immature person could buy multiple crates gambling that they will obtain a high-level reward. Let me remind you, this is not an 18+ or 21+ game, but a 16+ game, which is using tactics to encourage gambling. EA have removed the ability to buy credits with *real* money, and I sincerely hope it stays that way.

Guys, there not many good Star Wars games out there, and this one has a strong nostalgia factor (not only towards the Star Wars Universe but also as a homage to the gooall’ PC games of the 90s (X-wing, X-wing vs. Tie Fighter, Dark Forces and Jedi Knight, etc.). The space battles are absolutely unbelievable and the campaign fully immersive. Buy it and don’t think twice.

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersWell, despite all the negativity, I’m loving this game. I did have second thoughts on whether I should just return this based on the micro-transactions, but went for it anyway. Well, what can I say – it’s amazing. The game play is great, the environments are superb and varied…. spaceship junkyard is my favourite, beaches, jungles, Hoth, Tatooine and many more. All the maps are brilliantly detailed and are much more intricate that the COD maps with lots of different pathways on many different levels. The sound is superb. The variety of games is excellent. The larger maps actually offer different game play approaches, as opposed to COD where it’s a case too often of spawn/die/repeat.

Perhaps it’s because I play games to enjoy them, rather than wanted to progress and achieve everything instantly, that I like this game. After a fair amount of play, I’ve not had to pay any money, nor have I felt the need to pay any money. OK, so I don’t feel the burning desire to play as Vader in the first week, and I may not get there ever. But I don’t care. As long as have fun playing it, then that’s enough for me.

I’m sure a lot of these 1* reviews are from people who’ve not even bothered to play it. If you’re on the fence and want to play a fun game I’d say you should go for it, I very much doubt you’ll regret it.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersA lot of moaning going on about this game about in game purchases. Well what’s that different, every COD and battlefield game i have played, I have had to buy season passes or map packs for.

I agree with the argument that once you buy a game that should be it. Companies have sold map packs, skins, costumes, avatars and themes to squeeze more cash out of us!

Unfortunately though this is the state of play in the world of console games. Its come to the point that you either put up with it or stop playing these type of games. Fifa is another example of this and has been for a while. Even Minecraft for gods sake.

This however is a game I have enjoyed personally so far, a lot better than the first.

Graphics are very good particularly liked tattoine. I have not played the campaign yet, but I am not expecting miracles with that anyway.

I have played multiplayer and solo so far

The multi is decent although it gets pretty hectic sometimes, but its enjoyable. I much prefer this to COD ww2 which I hated.

I think there is room for improvement on multi but its decent enough and I am sure with patches, more maps and characters it will improve.

I like the fact you can play against AI opponents and have a decent game without the campers and cheaters. I liked that feature with some of the COD games.

People moaning that its turning their kids into gamblers! WTF don’t buy it for little Johnny then, He is probably too young to play it anyway. The bottom line is you don’t have to pay anything if you don’t want to.

The only people paying are the people who cannot be arsed to slog it out. I have had lots of progression so far and don’t understand what the issue is.

I remember the slog of getting to prestige on the COD games . This is nowhere near that ball breaking.

I have enjoyed playing the game so fat however its not as good as Battlefield 1

The micro transactions have now been removed anyway.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersLove it. The backlash about the microtransactions and more importantly the response from EA to slash in game prices and put the ability to purchase using real world cash on hold actually shows that they are listening. In the first couple of hours of play I had enough credits to buy one of the highest cost heroes which I think is perfectly reasonable. Anyway aside from all that noise, the gameplay is great – the new class systems really work well, and heroes seem a lot more balanced than the last game. Improving your chances of unlocking stuff in a match by working as a team makes me play in a different more team centric way which also improves the gameplay. Single player seems good so far, and the arcade challenges are also a nice sideline to the multiplayer.

I enjoy the game – I won’t be spending anything else on additional content but just play it and have fun to unlock stuff instead.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersThis game has exceptions graphics, it’s a beautiful game. The gameplay is fun and fast and really is very enjoyable. The multiplayer costs could maybe do with a little tweak but EA have already said they’re going to do that. The micro transactions being complained about no longer exist. The story is fun and fast paced, although short but then that what you tend to expect from a multiplier FPS shooter games single player. Arcade is very fun. Also there’s lots of planned free dlc for both single player and multiplayer which shows the longevity of this game. I don’t usually do reviews so I apologise if I could ave doe this better but I’m just sick of seeing countless reviews of a game that don’t take all aspects into account. Especially how half the reviews for this game are people moaning. Yes the microtransactions were a problem but the gameplay itself is very enjoyable! I’d say the price is quite steep at the moment but wait for it to drop down a bit and this will be a great purchase

  98. WildaCarty says:

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMicro transactions have been removed! A major source of irritation. Ignore the 1* reviews as they are no longer relevant.

Let’s start with single player campaign: it’s great. It’s the campaign i’ve always wanted. The story’s a little uneven in places, true, but this is video game so cut it some slack. It’s also great seeing a different perspective, namely the Empire’s, and also getting a bit of insight as to what happened between episodes 6 and 7, and there were some cameos I wasn’t expecting. It’s of reasonable length (8 hours maybe), and there’s some free DLC coming too.

I should also mention the design and look of the game, which as you might expect is fantastic. It’s super smooth and looks glorious (ps pro version tested). The sounds are great, and the weapons have weight and heft. Shooting storm troopers (like punching Nazis) never gets old, but it’s also never felt so good.

Which brings us back to the multiplayer. Putting aside the micro transactions issue (which has now been resolved), there are still annoyances. There are three (yes three) in game currencies for doing various things, and i’m still not sure what they’re all for. I feel like EA have added layers of complexity which doesn’t add much value, and detracts from a great experience. The in game currencies are (as of very recently) now only achievable through playing the actual game, not through purchases, it’s worth stressing. Although lacking in content (i.e levels and single player), the original game had a level of accessibility I find myself missing with its sequel.

Overall though, still a great game. Although the pay-to-win controversy attracted some negativity, this is no longer an issue, don’t let it put you off.
