My husband and are big fans of STARWARS. Here we are on our wedding day with this helmet and it really gave us some hilarious photos. The helmet comes in 3 pieces which is hard to put together on your own and take off. You can adjust the strap inside to fit your head so it doesn’t wobble and feel so heavy. The only thing I would love is for there to be a voice changer but it does have sound effects!

For us it was a great purchase and looks great with our collection!

    We really love it!

I was 9 in 1977 and saw Star Wars…I was awestruck
Saw this on Amazon and on a whim brought it….it’s everything I wanted and I didn’t it would as detailed as it was.No idea what I’ll do with it now but the quality is superb.

    Excellent quality.

The Darth Vader helmet itself is great, a bit small for adults. When the package arrived, it ‘just’ came in the box, no other packaging, so when my husband took in the parcel, he instantly knew what he was getting for Christmas. So not overly impressed with that side of things. Also, the box has all the delivery stickers o

Dealing with pesky rebels, completing the Jedi purge or simply forcing the empire’s might and power across the galaxy is a tough job. It involves numerous skirmishes and frequent though fights and duels. Even if one has the power of the dark side, one’s helmet does not always come through unscathed. So it is great that replacement helmets are now available on Amazon.

This is an excellent 3-part helmet that every Star Wars fan will appreciate provided they have the space to display it. It is appropriately very large, certainly compared to the other helmets in our collection. It requires a couple of AA batteries to operate the electronics and hear the Dark lord’s heavy breathing. It is a bit of shame that that it can only be activated by pressing a small button on the chin, that makes it look as mighty Vader has an itchy spot on his chin all the time.

But the more annoying thing is the plastic clip system to secure the collar piece/helmet base. The top helmet cover is more cleverly secured by magnet.
It is just a large black helmet on the outside, as it should be. But it does have the right level of detail. Moreover, the inside is his quite accurate if you compare it with the reference guides. I’m now considering tho buy some Vader-gloves as well. And maybe take some growth hormone, I need to add about 2 feet in length as the helmet looks disproportionally large when I wear it.

Also I should say that the postage label was simply stuck on the original box and it was sent in that manny. Quite a travesty for such an expensive collectable. And very poor judgement from the seller. Fortunately all the pieces are accounted for and the box was little damaged but this could have easily turned out differently. This was not the manufacturer’s error but the supplier. Be aware of this when ordering.

Excellent but I'm no David Drowse

Now I’m not usually seen in rebel attire, but this is an incredible piece from Hasbro.

I own Poe Dameron and now Luke Skywalker. And I’d like to compare the two of them.

In regards to Luke, the helmet is much larger and much more comfortable for someone of my head, unlike Poe’s, which is significantly smaller.

The surround sound has resurfaced, and is just as stunning as when I first discovered it in Poe’s helmet. This time you get the X Wing check in, Tie fighters, R2D2, plus the snow speeder mode. A massive jump since Poe Dameron, and I’m blown away by it.

Unlike Poe, the visor is static and stays in one fixed position. While this is minor, I would have liked a moveable visor. However this is compensated by the helmet’s immersion, as occasionally, red and green lights will flicker, simulating blaster fire.

If you’re a Star Wars fan or cosplayer, you HAVE to get this!

The ultimate Star Wars collector piece!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI bought a previously returned version so the box had been opened and isn’t in great nick. I’m not the kind of collector who cares about that in most cases so I preferred a discount to a pristine box which, let’s face it, is going in the loft, anyway.
The helmet will look fine on the shelf I had planned at at a glance and for non-obsessive fans looks really accurate. It’s not, though.
My main issues with it are these:
    1. It’s not full size. It’s close but I don’t believe that they made them this tight for an adult. I was thinking of building my Lenovo lightsabre game into this but there’s no way. My ears hurt like hell after a few minutes and my specs won’t fit inside it so there’s no chance of getting the Lenovo headset in there. (This was my main plan for this so now I’m annoyed with myself for wasting the money) I wouldn’t even be able to use this as a Hallowe’en piece it’s so tight.
    2. It looks plastic. Yes, I know they were and the ones in the film look plastic, but this looks like a cheaper plastic and more toy-like as a result.
    3. The paint-job is poor. The weathering is really poorly done, mainly in that it looks painted badly rather than weathered. Especially true of some of the longer lines which just look sloppily painted rather than as though the edges have been rubbed away. The edges of the weathering are perfectly sharp rather than blended in.

Great item for any Star Wars fan, and unlike most of the other black series helmets this one is actually comfortable to wear! The sound effects play inside the helmet to give you a real life experience and you can switch from 2 different ‘battles’ which is pretty cool. The inside padding comes separate and needs attaching, this is pretty easy to do and makes it really comfortable to wear. The only downside I can see is the paint job seems to have a cartoon look to it rather then ‘real life’ but still nicely done with.nice weathering effects. Maybe not as impressive as the other helmets in the black series but definitely looks cool no matter where you put it.

Golden Review Award: 122 From Our UsersMy nephew, who lives with us, has a silly ambition to become a pilot. He keeps asking permission to join the flight academy. Several of his friends have already done so.
For various reasons I will have to try everything in my power to keep him from it. If anything, I simply need some hands on our farm here as well.

Anyway, my wife through it a nice idea to get him a fighter pilot helmet for Life Day this year. I ordered one as he can at least use it while flying his Skyhopper though the canyon. The helmet arrived quite swiftly through the intergalactic mailing system. It is nicely padded, filled with electronics and fits well it seems.
It wasn’t cheap, in particular since we need the credits to purchase some more droids, but it makes a really nice gift.

Really cool product for Star Wars collectors, box came with a bit of ruff and tear, which isn’t ideal because this is a collectors item, however the product itself is really cool and works really easy once you get the hang of it plus the attention to detail is really admirable. Would recommend

Really cool product for Star Wars fans!

Absolutely AMAZING! I was utterly speechless, with everything! I’m only about 5ft 7 and have an athletic build and it’s fairly big on me but that will balance out when I get my costume sorted so I’ve no complaints whatsoever! If it has one “downside”, it would be that the eyes fog up pretty quick but even then visibility is still grand.

This is a very good helmet for display, looks ok straigth from thw box but it is very very uncomfortable to wear. In the end I padded it myself with home made pads and now it is ok to wear. Also it looks a lot better distressed so I watched some youtube videos and aged/distressed it myself and now its looks great.

Wow it’s awesome. Looks great, sound effects are great too. The helmet is a smidge smaller than I thought and would have liked a bit more of a gloss finish with the battle scars, BUT I’m still giving it a 9/10. Take some time to fit and change the inner padding for best effect. Love it. Delivered in an outer box Well packed box undamaged

What can I say….these are the things we dreamed of as children and now the Black Series delivers. As a piece of art, it’s fantastic. I’m not looking for screen accuracy, I’m not looking for slight alterations between Episode IV and episode VI, I just want a Darth Vader mask. It delivers on aesthetics with the completed mask. For this they get 5 stars.

Wearing this is another matter. I will just say if you’re a big guy or gal with claustrophobia…this has not been made for you to wear. Whereas the build is study enough to clip things on and off, this thing is kinda tight. No only that with the inner mask being made of hard plastic it loses large amounts in the comfort department. Also if you happen to have a beard you better be damn careful you don’t trap it as the helmet shuts right on your jaw line. I do happen to have a beard and have to say when I tried this on it felt like a shard of plastic was actually tearing into my face. Thankfully it was just trying to pluck my beard one jawline at a time. Just be careful.

It’s a shame really. Had they made this inner mask of something more appropriate like fabric or faux leather it would have removed this problem altogether. As a solution I’d suggest wearing a snood to protect yourself if you intend to wear it. Yeah it fogs. But who cares. Just make it a little more comfortable.

I got this for under 80. And while that isn’t cheap for a ‘piece of plastic’ the look and the inclusion of the timeless ventilator breathing (the fact this changes depending on whether the helmet is attached is absolutely genius) makes it worth every penny.

Well done Hasbro….now make the damn thing comfortable and you’ve nailed it!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAmazing detail, only problem is the chin strap is a bit loose for display on a shelf, so have not attached it. Looks great next to Darth Vader and soon boba fett helmets.

Great addition to my helmet collectio

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersLet’s face it, there are movie baddie’s, and there are movie baddie’s, but Darth Vader takes it to a whole new level. Since his original appearance in Episode 4 he has been the ultimate movie bad guy, uncompromising and relentless, and as badass as it gets in the closing scenes of Rogue One, this is an excellent version of Darth Vader’s headgear. Detail wise, the three piece helmet is second to none, it’s slightly claustrophobic and the first time you put it on on you can almost feel Vader’s pain and anguish at being encased it for ever more. It’s a tad uncomfortable for wearing for an extended period of time but coupled with a reasonably cheap costume the overal effect was very good, the kids (and some adults) absolutely loved it, highly recommended if your looking to be an imposing Vader on a budget. Delivery service from Amazon was first class, the item and packaging is actually quite big, but was well packaged in an outer box.

    Very good representatio

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe helmet is great, some slight differences to the screen helmet but as long as you’re not trying to get it cleared by a costuming club (501st, GK, EG etc) who cares !!! With all the padding its a tadge tight on my size 59 noggin but looks great on the shelf. Audio options are for X Wing pilot (A New Hope) or Snowspeeder Pilot (Empire Strikes Back). Paintwork is excellent and bright, with slight weathering. Visor is fixed but the mic is on a flexible arm. I forsee many young pilots running round over Christmas trying to hit that Death Star exhaust port.

As others have said, this arrived without any outer ‘Amazon’ packaging so had the address label on the ‘Hasbro’ box. I guess I should have indicated it was a gift and then it would have come in a grey plastic bag !!!

    I LOVE THIS!

Ever since I was a small child and first saw Return of the Jedi and the scene where look stripped back Vader’s helmet/mask, I literally dreamed of being able to own one of these.

Over the years there have been several fan made/custom builds but these were never anything close to being affordable.

    And then Hasbro release this!

This is what dreams are made of.

It’s made of high quality plastic, the mould of the mask looks accurate (although it’s huge…which just makes the Vader visage seem all the more imposing)

Because it’s a mass produced product and not a prop it may not be quite movie accurate, but it’s pretty damn close.

I imagine for those that are going for real accuracy, this would make an excellent base for them to add customised paintwork and detailing, but otherwise for less ‘fussy’ fans, this should tick all of the boxes between accuracy and affordability.

This sits pride and place on display in my man cave, and every now and then it’s cool to put on – lift off the helmet, peel off the face plate and expose the neck collar just like in the movie.

This really is the stuff that geek dreams are made of and I’d buy this all over again if I could.

    Pure joy.

Came well packaged in an outer Amazon box.

I managed to get it at a heavily reduced price (I had paid 100 for a Stormtrooper Ep4-6 helmet previously) but it would have been value for money paying the full price. It is in three segments just like in Ep6 when Vader reveals himself to Luke. The neck piece fits well even though I’m a 17.5in collar. It can be fiddly dropping the face piece onto this but after a few goes it fits easily with a satisfying ‘sucking’ noise on contact (and similar noise on disconnecting). The contact is done by fairly powerful magnets.

The helmet again drops into place easily after a few goes and is connected by magnets. There’s a handy little piece of black plastic in the box (don’t throw it away!) that keeps it upright on a shelf for display purposes.

It looks fantastic next to the Stormtrooper helmet in my man cave!

Golden Review Award: 59 From Our UsersMy son was very keen to spend his saved up pocket money on this item. He had seen several unpacking reviews on YouTube and it appears to be highly regarded, I was however sceptical having seen it’s price and not wanting this to become a “dust collector” once he is bored with it after a few days.

We looked at the other reviews on Amazon together with regards to the packaging, what it can and cannot do, all of which was confirmed via the YouTube videos we watched also. He was still very keen and we ordered it.

The item arrived in a large Amazon box, surrounded by packaging paper, with the main product box insider, we had seen a previous review which stated it arrived in the product box with a sticker stuck to it but that wasn’t out experience. In addition, the product box was wrapped up, very well I have to add, with bubble wrap, it appeared to be wrapped with the same consideration you would perhaps apply when wrapping a gift for a loved one.

My son unwrapped and opened it all carefully and the contents of the box were equally well packaged and secure. We removed two small paper-ties and removed some of the plastic bags which surrounded the main components of the helmet. Within a few minute my son had it assembled and on his head.

We saw some reviews which mentioned about the neck component being a bit snug, perhaps for an adult this may be more of an issue, for my son there seemed to be plenty of space (he has a 15″ neck). He didn’t seem to have any issues clipping the main neck component together, although the mid-section part of the helmet, which does fasten with magnets also has two small plastic dowels which need to align with corresponding holes, with assistance this is very easy, with a bit of practice it becomes second nature. The final part of the helmet simply sat on top and the magnets (clever idea) do there work.

The magnets seem strong enough and they didn’t separate with a bit of head wobbling. My son mentioned that there was a bit of “misting” on the inside as he was breathing, but he didn’t feel it was a significant problem.

The compartment for the batteries is cleverly positioned so as to not be visible when wearing the helmet and was easy to open (one small screw) and close. Batteries were not included (as stated) and it requires 2xAAA.

The sound effects were very good, the button is responsive and really brought this product to life for my son.

As sceptical as I was, being a parent, I do have to admit that this does look to be very well made, it has a high quality and high levels of detail. It is expensive, but, if you are a Star Wars fan, or if you are shopping for one, I don’t think anyone would be disappointed with this product.

I am unable to find anything negative really to state about this product. As a minor word of warning however, if you think you will need to ever place it back in the product box it comes in – pay close attention to how the individual cardboard packaging components are placed *BEFORE* you take it all out – we have still yet to work out how to get it all back in “as it was”, but this is fairly trivial and will be resolved with some patience/time.

One very happy teenager and thus, one very happy dad 🙂

his first and foremost a toy and a very good one at that. it is not and is not sold as a true film replica or prop.

for most people they see a vader helmet, if thats what you see and need want, then buy it you fool. however if you want a replica of ANH,ESB OR ROTJ darth helmet this is not for you.

i got this to cosplay with a rubies vader costume, and its great, a snug fit, lots of visability and good clearance on the neck

To say Hasbro have outdone themselves with this product would be doing them a major disservice. I think the only item that could possibly outdo this would be Lenovos movie accurate wearable helmet.
Looks amazing as a display piece, looks amazing as a cosplay accessory.
One small point, however. I have cosplayed as Vader on several occasions and gone through several different iterations of the mask. In comparison to most, this one is very snug. Not to the point of being uncomfortable and in fact the field of vision this gives you is much better than most. In fact, the close fit of the mask is probably more of an advantage as it stops it from moving around on your head. I just feel that the collar piece could’ve been a little looser or you could just leave the back piece of the collar off altogether. Perhaps Hasbro could come up with adjustable clips or some kind of extender.
In conclusion, this is an absolute must have for any Star Wars fan and Vader fans especially. It’s just a bit on the snug side when you’re 6’8″ and have an eighteen and a half inch neck.

First off right out of the box this is a fantastic collectors piece. The helmet is huge and comes in three pieces. The neck plate complete with exquisite detail. A press of the activation button on the side plays an authentic laboured breathing Vader sound effect. Then the face plate which locks in place with magnets and is adjusted with elasticated head straps. This stage can be a little tricky to lock in place and again to separate when removing. Another press of the same activation button plays a familiar Vader sound. Then comes the hood section which locks In place with the aid of magnets. All in all a fantastic collectors piece with great attention to detail

Golden Review Award: 66 From Our UsersThis is a great helmet for star wars fans at a reasonable price. It comes in 3 pieces and the only negative I would say is it does get hot while wearing it but I wouldnt drop a star for that. Its not strictly a voice changer as the button is used to make the Darth Vader breathing sound which I am fine with as most voice changers are not that great. It also comes with a nifty display stand (i say stand but its a piece of hard plastic) which goes under the helmet so you can place it on a shelf or cabinet. What more can I say – the wife hates it, I love it – the force is balanced

WOW!!! I think this Darth Vader helmet is definitely the best one ever. There are other Darth Vader helmets available but none I’ve seen come in three parts like this one. You get the collar/neck brace, the mask (both with amazing detail) and obviously the helmet. All three fasten together with pretty strong magnets. The superb detail on the collar and mask isn’t completely movie accurate but it’s very, very close. What is movie accurate are the awesome sound effects. There’s the iconic breathing, air pressure release and ‘injured Vader’ breathing sounds. I’m so glad I bought this helmet especially at such a good price and it only took two days to arrive in perfect condition. Amazing.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI won’t go over the same details as other reviewers because they’ve said it all & they are 100% accurate in their reviews. My only gripe which another reviewer mentioned was that the product in it’s box was put in a secondary box which protected the product box from being damaged by labels being stuck on it & damage from the delivery process. So if these ever become a collector’s piece, the value would be enhanced. However, amazon didn’t do the secondary box for me & just slapped the delivery labels onto the product box resulting in a shabby looking affair when it arrived thus only the 4 stars (nothing to do with the item). Cheers amazon.

For the price, this really is an awesome display piece. I really would like to see it side by side with one of the alternatives costing 3 or 4 times the price so I can see just what improvements there might be. To me, there is no need to pay more. The breathing sound effect is cool, but unnecessary really as I just have this on display in my home cinema. I purchased also from Amazon a Swan paper towel holder in black and chrome which I use as a stand. It ties in perfectly and looks like a really expensive accessory.

This mask is very impressive considering the price. I really love the 3-piece design which is very true to the original movie prop yet easy to put on and off with the help of magnets. Of course it’s not completely screen accurate, but it’s not too bad either. The mask also has some cool sound effects of Vader’s breath, both wounded and normal and some adding sounds when you put the mask together. I am actually pleasantly surprised with the mask because I thought it might have been a lot worse. My only gripe is that it easily gets warm inside it. That said: it is an unusually warm summer.

I have always wanted a Darth Vader helmet, being the most iconic thing in the entire Star wars universe you would normally need to spend several hundred for anything remotely similar. this helmet is beautiful, its imposing in its blackness and imposing in its size, the small display stand supplied is perfect for putting it on display. what makes this different from prop models or other cosplay helmets is the level of detail inside and outside. if you are a fan of classic star wars then pick this up before it becomes rare and you end up paying over the odds.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersHasbro have done an amazing job with the latest in the Black Series line!
Whilst there will be many arguments on the level of ‘screen accuracy’ there is no arguing that this is a fantastic representation of Vader’s helmet. The sound effects are a nice touch, especially how they change depending on if the helmet is all together or disassembled.
For the price you will struggle to find a better Darth Vader helmet!

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersGreat to see that Amazon have listened to past reviews about stuff like this being delivered in a separate box rather than simply having shipping labels stuck on the product packaging. These things are *collectible* and the packaging is just as important as the product inside it. Top marks for Amazon for delivering this product well protected 🙂

So what can I say about this new Darth Vader helmet other than WOW! This really is the Darth Vader helmet we’ve been waiting for. Whilst it’s not entirely screen accurate, it’s as close as you’re gonna get for 100. What will strike you most about it is the shear size of the helmet – this thing is a monster! It comes supplied as three bits but breaks down still further should you wish to wear it – personally I bought mine just for display. The helmet is separate from the mask and Hasbro also supply a somewhat simplistic plastic mount that can be used to lift up the back of the helmet to tip it forward when put on display. It’s very, very basic but does the job, to be fair. Assembling the helmet for display is very straight forward. You literally put the helmet on top of the mask and it then sits in place thanks to some strategically placed magnets.

As others have stated, this thing is a fingerprint and dust magnet so be prepared to give it a wipe over on a fairly regular basis – just try to avoid touching the helmet as much as you can a those finger prints really do show! Like anything, it looks its best when left as a display piece therefore reducing the amount of contact you have to make with any of the surfaces. Mine has now taken pride of place in my home cinema. It’s a real talking about and has already attracted more than its fair share of admiring glances from visitors – just be prepared to stop them from picking it up!

I had seen the reviews of this product, but actually having it in hand it is even more amazing than I thought it would be. This is obviously not going to be a 100% “screen accurate” prop replica, you will pay 5 times the price for that, but it does a damned good job. I was lucky enough to se the Return Of The Jedi “reveal” helmet that this is based on at the London Star Wars Identities exhibition last summer, and I think this is very very close. The level of detail on this helmet is phenomenal, their is so much of it both inside and out. The sound effects are for me an added bonus, but once again Hasbro have done a great job of replicating what we hear in the movies and especially at this price point. Often the sound “features” on these helmets can be a bit of a gimmick, but here they enhance and add to the overall product.
If you are thinking of buying one of these, then stop thinking and just order it!
