After watching a few YouTube reviews of this NAS I bought this to replace my Synology 114play. I was a little worried it wouldn’t be as good, I was pleased this wasn’t the case. Setup was easy and it was up and running in no time. Apps are good and in some cases better! I’m using PLEX which runs really smooth and very quick. Well pleased.
Klasse Gert. Genial da sich darauf auch eigene Storage-Lsungen und sogar andere PC-basierende Betriebssysteme installieren lassen. Bei der ersten Inbetriebnahme wird aber schon ein brauchbares System installiert was fr den Zweck vllig ausreichend ist. Einen Hdmi-Ausgang besitzt das Gert auch. Negativ ist eigentlich nur der kleine Speicher von 2GB. Dieser lsst sich aber nachtrglich aufrsten.
Somo molto contento dell’acquisto. Seguendo le istruzioni, pur senza essere un esperto, ho montato due dischi senza difficolt in configurazione Raid 1. E’ bastato seguire le istruzioni. Lo consiglio caldamente anche per un uso non professionale. Non occorre essere degli esperti.
Godd budget NAS. Has lots of interesting functionalities. Not intuitive though and a bit of a pain to map the drive on Windows (hence the 4 stars) but linux had no problem finding it. Overall a good choice if you are in abudget.
Economico, interfaccia web semplice con guida in linea. Ho sostituito un freeNAS, questo molto pi semplice. Una latenza di circa 20 secondi dopo che non lo si usato per ore, dovuta al fatto che spegne i dischi (forse si pu disabilitare). Case ben fatto ma plasticona.
Very easy to setup, originally purchased so i could backup my drives and connect my security cameras. Drive backups are simple and straight forward, but i could not connect my Eufy cameras it is DOES NOT SUPPORT RSTP. Still a good NAS but hopefully they will update to support RSTP or I will need to change it.
achdem mein WD Laufwerk nicht mehr funktioniert und man hierzu keine Hilfe bekommt habe ich mir den Terra Master gekauft. Er ist von der Inbetriebnahme bis hin zur Verwendung sehr gut zu bedienen. Habe bis jetzt nur gute Erfahrung gemacht und wrde es mir immer wieder kaufen. Auch kann man zweierlei Festplatten 3,5 Zoll sowie 2,5 Zoll verbauen.
This NAS was easy to set up and was cheaper that all comparable makes. I purchased this to set up my PLEX server for all of my DVDs and it’s only a day old and I’m very please. I will write a further review should there be any long term problems.
A couple of minor concerns though, the first is that when you check out all the online tutorials it turns up in a posh blue box, my one was a brown one, the online one had a HDMI socket mine does not? Is this an older model? Was it sold cheaper? Not major issues but a bit of a worry.
Sono molto soddisfatto dell’acquisto. Installazione e software molto facili da utilizzare e comprensibili. Ha subito letto e masterizzato i miei dischi HDD. Ho inserito 2 dischi per raid e 2 dischi per condividere archivi musicali e fotografici. Ho anche utilizzato uno scomparto per inserire un SSD con funzione cache che ha velocizzato sensibilmente l’accesso al sistema. Credo che il prodotto non abbia nulla da invidiare ai pi blasonati e costosi prodotti Synology e Qnap.
I bought the F5-221 to use as a vanilla NAS storage device. Installed 2 x WD 6TB purple drives (RAID1), along with the TOS system. It was running fine for 10 months. However, when I upgraded the OS to version 4.2.07, it started to beep and proceed to power off at random times.
Made a post on the TerraMaster forums about it, and emailed them. The forum mods were prompt in replying, and the CS person was prompt in answering my emails. After a couple of messages, they asked me to return the unit to a UK address (I paid for the shipping, about 7), and shipped a new unit to me via Amazon Logistics.
The new unit is on OS version 4.2.08-2101111540, and has been running for the past 14 days with no issues. The only blip is that this new unit seems to vibrate, relatively loudly, intermittently. Could probably be solved by inserting some padding around the case.
Ho avuto modo di acquistare pi sistemi Nas, dai Netgear ai WD EX2ultra. TerraMaster F221 e ‘ quello che si addice pi alle mie necessit. Robusto, ben fatto e molto veloce, configurato in RAID 1 (mirroring) con dischi IRONWOLF NAS da 4TB. Estesa immediatamente la RAM a 6 Gbytes, il sistema anche sotto stress test risulta silenzioso (sento solo il rumore dei dischi).
Se devono fare un confronto con Il WD EX2ULTRA Terramaster pi professionale, adatto sicuramente ad ambienti IT strutturati. La possibilit di bilanciare il carico delle richieste (throughput ) mettendo a disposizione due schede di rete non un dettaglio da poco.
Con molti accessi simultanei e richieste di upstream e downstream impegnative, mentre i concorrenti Nas si frizzano, l ‘F221 in bilanciamento non produce lag e server in maniera fluida le richieste.
Ho gradito molto la dotazione di applicazioni server attivabili. Ora si tratta di verificarne l’affidabilit nel tempo e la cadenza degli aggiornamenti del firmware.
La configurazione e la messa in esercizio, stata semplice, adatta anche a meno esperti.
Soluzione ideale. Valuter sicuramente nel futuro la possibilit di approdare a modelli superiori prezzo permettendo.
Metto 4 stelle perch opero in ambienti “Enterprise” e sono abituato a dispositivi molto pi complessi ma dai prezzi decisamente non accessibili.
Ottimo prodotto e buone aspettative. Do 4 stelle perch tramite plex il 4k arranca fuori casa. Per farlo funzionare devi farti l’abbonamento. Invece nella propia rete di casa funziona tutto alla perfezione. Facile installazione e procedura di configurazione.
Come sistema operativo purtroppo ha poche applicazioni ma per il prezzo va pi che bene per un uso domestico. Consigliatissimo.

Importante mettere dischi nuovi oppure fare installazione senza dischi inseriti se gi usati su altri apparecchi ed inserirli quando il programma di installazione gli richiede in un secondo momento
La verdad es que no conoca sta marca y tena algunas reticencias a la hora de comprarlo, pero ahora no me arrepiento, tampoco es que haya probado ningn otro dispositivo como ste.
El nivel de ruido es muy bajo, si no es que est el disco duro en “accin” no notas que est encedido, el software que trae instalado es bastante completo y se puede configurar diferentes usuarios y diferentes sistemas de acceso.
Yo lo compr para hacer backups de un servidor que tengo, las hago a travs de SFTP y no he tenido problemas en configurarlo.

habe die Terra Master F2-221 nun ein Jahr, die Ansteuerung durch die Netzwerkbndelung ist echt super, man Klikt auf den Netzwerkordner und dieser geht zeitgleich auf – fantastisch. Ich habe eine Raid eins gemacht mit 4Trrabyte und diese in vier Volumen unterteilt um so diese fr jeden in der Familie nutzbar zu machen mit deinem eigenen Netzlaufwerk und Kontingent. Eine super Sache. Ich habe leider das Dateiformat btrfs benutzt, dadurch wird die Konfiguration etwas fr Fortgeschrittene. Werde mich reinarbeiten, ansonsten ist das echt klasse. Die App heruntergeladen und von Unterwegs aus alle wichtigen Daten zugreifen ist schon ein interresantes Gefhl. Natrlich nicht das Passwort scpeichern in der App – zwecks Sicherheit!
Kann ich empfehlen das Teil.

Initialisation du NAS assez facile en suivant les tapes, logiciel a tlcharger qui va scanner l’adresse IP du NAS puis install l’OS sur le NAS.
C’est ma premire exprience d’installer un NAS de A Z, plutt facile.
Il n’y a pas beaucoup d’applications par rapport d’autres marques mais pour mon utilisation a devrait pour l’instant me suffire.
Client Bittorent dispo pour tlcharger sans laisser son PC allum, bien pratique, serveur FTP que j’ai paramtr pour utilis en sauvegarde des enregistrements vido et photo de mes camras IP (les enregistrements dclenchs sur dtections sont donc envoy en FTP sur mon NAS) vu que ce NAS n’a pas la possibilit d’utilis une application type NVR ou CMS, j’ai trouv cette solution simple pour sauver les enregistrements
La cration des comptes utilisateurs, groupe, partage de fichier est facile
Pour l’instant mon regret est la version Android ou Ipad que je ne trouve pas du tout la hauteur de ce que fait la concurrence, c’est dommage, mais ergonomie de l’appli date d’un autre Age, je n’ai pas trouv (peut tre possible ?) comment ajouter un torrent distance.
Pour l’instant l’accs au NAS depuis l’extrieur via l’appli Android ne fonctionne pas, j’ai pourtant mis une IP Fixe et effectu un NAT sur ma BOX, il faut que je peaufine la doc en ligne et forum pour vrifier mes paramtres, mais y’a pas de raison que a ne fonctionne pas.
J’ai test la copie d’une clef USB sur un des 2 ports USB3 sur les disques du NAS, c’tait plutt lent pourtant avec une clef Scandisk USB3 de 32Go (Dbit entre 7 et 11Mo/s)
Pour le transfert sur le rseau pas encore test car pour l’instant mon MAC et PC sont en WIFI pour atteindre le NAS
J’espre que l’application Android va s’amliorer prochaineme

Voil un NAS qui fait trs srieux, que ce soit sur la fiche technique ou la construction, on n’est pas loin d’tre parfaits :
– silencieux
– facile installer
– facile utiliser
– bourr de fonctionnalits surtout pour le prix
Je lui ai install 2 paires de disques et un ssd, j’ai pu jouer avec l’interface et je n’ai pas rencontr de problmes majeurs, pour ce qu’on lui demande de faire dans mon cas (stocker des donnes en SMB) c’est relativement facile utiliser.
A noter que je me refuse d’installer des applications pour installer mon matriel, donc j’ai fait l’installation en dtectant son adresse ip en dhcp auprs de mon routeur et ceci depuis un navigateur.
J’ai galement procd aux tests d’usage : retrait d’un disque en plein fonctionnement (ralentissements sans interruption de service), rinsrer le disque et reconstruire le raid… Rien d’inquitant, tout fonctionne.
Pour les points ngatifs :
– ce n’est pas vraiment document, mais le systme stocke sa configuration sur le premier volume cr sur le premier pool de stockage (Crant de fait plusieurs “dossiers partags”). Vous ne pouvez pas finir la configuration sans crer ce pool, et ce volume. Donc faites le, jouez avec le matriel, et une fois que vous avez dcid o vous mettrez la config, le volume cible de votre choix dans le pool de votre choix (pfiou) et allez dans “Dossier Partags > Avanc > Restaurer les dossiers partags” et l vous pouvez dplacer les rpertoires… (pas grand monde suivra mais celui qui suit comprendra ;))
– bips, l’allumage, la panne du raid… il faut aller dans l’interface web pour acquitter et supprimer les avertissements sonores, je vais probablement regarder dans le dtail ce que fait cette interface et faire un outil pour supprimer tous bips
– redimensionnements (quels qu’ils soient) qui ne fonctionnent pas, si vous changez la taille, l’interface forcera l’espace maximum disponible…. trs trange, je ne vais pas rentrer dans le dtail mais faites votre configuration cible AVANT d’utiliser le nas au quotidien.
– le linux de base install certes dispose des applications de base (et mme plus ! il y a docker et virtualbox tout de mme !) mais il n’est pas trs configurable et n’a pas de gestionnaire de paquets standard disponibles
Usages avancs :
– Derrire le cache en plastique avec la silhouette d’un port hdmi, sur mon modle il y a effectivement un vrai port hdmi
– Un emplacement est disponible pour une extension mmoire (ddr3 si je ne m’abuse vrifier trs fortement)
– Apparemment, il y a une cl usb branche l’intrieur du boitier bien planque, la retirer permet en combinaison de l’utilisation de l’hdmi et d’un clavier usb d’installer le systme d’exploitation de son choix.
En rsum, on va voir s’il est fiable (il a l’air) et j’en suis trs content.

C’est pratique, tentant de vouloir administrer/utiliser son matriel depuis internet mais je dconseille fortement aux particuliers d’ouvrir des ports sur leur box pour ce botier sans connatre les risques.
Ce matriel permet de faire normment de choses et comme tout matriel complexe peut tre expos des failles de scurit. Certains en ont fait les frais et se sont retrouver miner des cryptomonnaies pour des tiers sur ce mme modle (donc appareil ralenti, risque de se faire voler des donnes etc etc).
Si vous ne savez pas comment scuriser/maintenir ce genre de matriel, n’ouvrez pas de ports sur la box, c’est simple.
Si vous vous enttez le faire, mettez le jour trs rgulirement (vrifier toutes les semaines), surveillez les journaux applicatifs de prs…
This was a very pleasant surprise. Too often these embedded products just utterly fail on the software experience either being too arcane and taking ages to set up right or being too limited where it simply can not do what you need. This is in the sweet middle point – the basics of a NAS are really easy to get working and to get working right. You get your RAID selection and SMART monitoring going, it prompts you to create users that will be able to connect to the NAS over the network and enabling TImeMachine backups was not too hard either. But then you can dive deeper and unlock the true power of this machine:
* you can have a bunch of users and each can have different access rights to different file shares you can have
* install a Plex plugin and you can now stream any video files to your TV or phone
* Install a Google Drive (or any other cloud storage provider) plugin and sync a folder from your NAS with the cloud drive, so you get double the safety and convinient remote access or sharing
* Install qTorrent plugin and … you can share the distribution of your favourite Linux variant 🙂
* And here is the real bomb – install Docker plugin and you can run *any* Docker container on this thing – web servers, databases, mail servers, git servers, your own custom servers, … everything becomes possible.
Just make sure you get NAS quality drives for this. It keeps them alive almost the whole time. Not an issue for NAS drives, but consumer drives can dislike that kind of treatment for years.
Artikel ist mir bei meiner Recherche aufgefallen, gute Hardware zum erschwinglichen Preis und die Mglichkeit, ein alternatives Betriebssystem zu installieren. HDMI-Ausgang fr BOOT-Vorgang etc. vorhanden, vorhandener Speicher kann gnstig aufgerstet werden. Auch ein 4GB Riegel (somit insgesamt 6GB Arbeitsspeicher) wird ohne Murren anerkannt! Nachdem ich mir mein Original-TOS “zerschossen” hatte, habe ich OpenMediaVault installiert (externe SSD mit USB-Adapter). Dieses luft einwandfrei und bietet noch mehr Mglichkeiten als das Orignal-Betriebssystem.
Das Gert ist gut verarbeitet und auch der Einschaltknopf funktioniert einwandfrei.
Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Kauf und kann das Gert ebenfalls weiter empfehlen.

Ya existen varias descripciones sobre el producto, as que no las comentar.
Es mi primera experiencia con un NAS y, pese a haberme informado con el tema, hasta que no te pones a ello, no aprendes.
La instalacin es sencilla. La reinstalacin tambin. Ms complejo ha sido revertir el servidor de Plex porque se destroz, pero al final tambin se soluciono. Lo ir llenando de contenido poco a poco. La indexacin de Plex agot al procesador y no haba manera de funcionar con Plex. El resto funcionaba sin problemas.
En mi caso con discos no NAS, el ruido se produce cuando se escribe sobre el HDD. Sin actividad es inapreciable.
Me ha llamado la atencin la velocidad de escritura. Es muy rpido.

Adepte de Synology depuis longtemps, j’ai craqu pour une vente flash de ce Terramaster 5 baies (ce qui l’a amen moiti prix d’un quivalent QNAP ou Synology), et je ne regrette pas ! Charg pour l’instant avec 3 WD Red de 12TB monts en raid 5, les dbits de 110-120 MB/s en lecture/criture annoncs par le constructeur sont respects. Utilis sur mon rseau local via SMB depuis ma NVIDIA Shield TV pro, aucun problme pour visualiser mes films HD ou 4K. Le logiciel TOS est simple prendre en main, on retrouve toutes les fonctions habituelles d’un NAS. L’application mobile TNAS fait aussi le boulot (basique). Reste voir la fiabilit sur le long terme, mais franchement je suis trs agrablement surpris par ce NAS, recommand pour son rapport qualit-prix imbattable.
Buenos materiales de construccin y buen software.
Llevo aos usando varios nas, de hecho varios porque siempre se me quedaban cortos, tanto en potencia como en capacidad.
Tena claro que el prximo tendras que ser de un mnimo de 4 bahas, tambin tenia claro que eso sera caro ya que al ser de ms bahas ya es ms caro y tambin porque has de llenarlo con discos( al menos tres discos).
Buscando alternativas ms asequibles a las marcas ms conocidas y por tanto ms caras, encontr TERRAMASTER. Segn reviews as como artculos relacionados tuve conocimiento de esta marca que pisaba fuerte ya que tena unos buenos materiales de construccin y diseos sencillos y accesibles. En alguna comparativa se menciona que el software es algo en lo que cojea pero segn mi experiencia NO ES CIERTO. Tiene un software manejable, intuitivo y rpido. Ya sea por su buena cpu o simplemente porque el software es ms simple y directo. Es cierto que algunos sistemas pueden ser ms completos pero en si lo que usamos ms son software pasivos y TOS hace lo necesario para que todo funcione bien. Esos sistemas ms completos a menudo no suelen ser usados y lo que hacen es aadir menos eficiencia al sistema y por tanto a tu experiencia en la interaccin con el acceso a datos del nas.
En definitiva Terramaster con este F5-221 me ha ganado como cliente. Cumple con el bonito, barato y bueno, adems es muy eficiente.
Esperando a que aadan ms apps para smartphones como para escritorio para cerrar el circulo!!

This product is going to be a valuable asset for me to store my data. Although it is easy enough to store many things online, when it comes to storing photos in .raw format of which I do plenty, having a flexible option when I can upgrade the drives as an when and need it.
I have had NAS storage solutions previously, but they have had two drive slots. The issue with this relates to how you ensure that if a drive fails, you can still recover data. When I RAIDED in these Storage solutions, is because very difficult if there was a drive failure. Hopefully, moving forward, this will solve that issue.
My only concern is the drive carriage is plastic. When I saw this, the first thing I thought was “what if this breaks?” but I hope that it wont be an issue.
Fantasic NAS for home & advanced users, I’ve used Docker to install NextCloud which is accessible outside our home network with my domain. This NAS has totally replaced my paid Dropbox subscription at a much more reasonable price than similar solutions.
Delivery was very fast, good packaging. Easy instructions, mounted my 4 HDD from a previous dismissed Nas, initialised and ready to start in less than a hour. The TNAs OS it’s easy to use and intuitive; bit slow with only 2GB of ram, planning to add am SSD on the 5th tray for caching. Until now really happy for the purchase

Although this is my first NAS i’ve read up on them a lot the past few years so purchasing this NAS was sort of a gamble to me as it’s not a well known brand. But I couldn’t be happier. My main usage is just backing up my computer/files locally and it works flawlessly to me. I’ve also been using PLEX to store movies & shows that I can watch remotely and it also works very well.
Honestly so far I don’t see a reason why I would spend more money on a well known NAS just to get equal or even worse performance. I will update this review if I run into any issues with my NAS or find something lacking.
Ho fatto questo acquisto dopo aver studiato e meditato tanto, finalmente mi sono deciso e al primo sconto interessante ho proceduto.
Sono molto soddisfatto, facile installazione guidata i tutti i suoi passi, il sistema operativo TOS, ha una piacevole interfaccia ed molto intuitivo, anche per chi come me non un grande esperto, se si hanno dubbi c’ un buona guida online.
Non scalda e non fa rumore, la ventola sta sempre al minimo, anche avendo fatto prove ad istallare applicazioni (docker) che richiedono risorse al NAS. Per il momento sono estremamente soddisfatto e curioso di studiare le migliori ottimizzazioni che si possono raggiungere grazie a questo strumento non indispensabile, ma di grande aiuto e sicurezza in un ambiente domestico.
Nachdem meine “Thecusse” in die Jahre gekommen sind und einige Apps nicht mehr gepflegt werden musste Ersatz her,das nicht zu teuer,wurde bei Terramaster fndig und entschied mich fr den F5-221,ausgepackt ans Netzwerk angeschlossen und die heruntergeladene Software installiert ,Update eingespielt und eingerichtet.Sogar Linkaggrgation liess sich ohne grossartiges gefummle einrichten.Kopiergeschwindigkeit vom PC zum NAS liegt so bei ca 100MB/s .Bin mehr als zufriede

Realmente til para crear almacenamiento en nube propio, almacenaje y acceso de archivos de todo tipo desde todos los dispositivos del hogar, as como centro multimedia gracias a PLEX.
El sistema operativo es intuitivo y funciona bien.
Velocidad de lecto-escritura fiel a la informacin dada, y estable.
Relacin calidad/precio adecuada.
Totalmente satisfecho con la compra.
J’ai configur le TerraMaster F2 -221 avec pour l’instant un seul disque dur pour NAS Thoshiba N300 de 8 Terra. Le bruit semble surtout venir du disque dur en plein fonctionnement (transferts de fichiers lourds), on l’entend fort “gratter”… Le botier, bien qu’il soit trs rigide (il est en aluminium, un trs bon point), amplifie ce phnomne. Cela n’est pas particulirement gnant pour mon propre usage (le NAS tant plac dans l’entre de mon logement). Mais si vous dsirez le placer dans une chambre, le salon, ou une pice o vous dsirez du silence, je dconseille fortement de le faire. Il faut bien avoir en tte, que mme si le NAS “n’est pas utilis”, son systme d’exploitation fonctionne quant lui 24h/24h ! C’est d’ailleurs pour a qu’il est fait ! Vrifier l’intgrit et la prennit des donnes. Le disque dur va donc continuer faire du bruit pour diverses raisons…
Je regrette aussi que le fabricant ait opt pour des tiroirs pour disques durs en plastique, certes rigide, mais d’autres marques font l’effort de mettre galement de l’aluminium ou du mtal. C’est d’autant plus incomprhensible tant la qualit extrieure perue est de haut niveau.
Ceci est peut-tre en rapport avec le prix trs accessible de ce NAS qui a des performances trs honorables ! Il est redoutable d’efficacit et de simplicit ! Son interface est trs facile grer et comprendre, l’on installe que les apps et services dont on a besoin, pas de fouillis incomprhensible, on est en confiance et on est assist ds le dpart si on a jamais configur/utilis de NAS…
Autre point remarquable, il possde une double carte rseau et un port USB-C ! C’est rare ce prix !
Voil pourquoi je ne suis pas trop svre au niveau de la note: j’enlve une demi toile pour le bruit, et une autre demi toile pour l’usage de plastique dur pour les 2 tiroirs. C’est donc un bon 4 toiles !
We have found this to be a good new NAS for our home-office environment – and as a family media server. It is well made with a heavy-duty aluminium case that looks pretty good too.
We use 2 x Toshiba N300 4TB ‘NAS’ drives and they are notoriously noisy — however, the casing does a good job of deadening the sound. The fan is also very quiet. Indeed, our previous Zyxel NAS326 made much more of a racket! Physical installation is very straightforward. However, I did opt for an additional 2GB of device memory and installing that was tricky — I have reviewed that separately. It’s also rather expensive.
The installation of the software and initial device set up is less fun. Oddly, one needs to install a PC Windows APP (TNAS) and then use it to load the NAS’s TOS operating system. All rather tedious. The NAS is then setup using the TOS desktop. That is rather clunky but, once mastered, easy enough. I set up the 2 x 4TB Toshiba drives in a RAID-1 (4TB) configuration. We use both of the gigabit LAN ports (to 2 different switches). This gives quicker data transfers, network redundancy and allows us to back up the device to a separate NAS on our network (and vice versa). Setting up and scheduling the Antivirus App was straightforward. Surprisingly, we did find setting up shared drives on all of our PCs to be a tad tricky. We use the Android TNAS APP on our mobiles (home and away) and that’s fine.
The installation guides themselves are less than intuitive but we got there without having to disturb the slumbers of Terra-Master support agents!
Fortunately, set up is a ‘one-off’ event. Once that’s done, the NAS works very well and we normally see local network data transfers of 120+MB/s. The “Multimedia Server” App on the NAS is appreciated by the kids and is a doddle to configure. We also access the music on the NAS using Amazon Alexa (using the ‘OurJukebox’ skill). It works very well. Indeed, I am rather impressed.
The device is very reasonably priced (apart from the extortionate memory upgrade). Now time will tell if we made the right choice but, in the meantime, I am quite chuffed.

Hatte das Gert als reinen Datenspeicher angedacht. Eigentlich auch ein solides Gert, dass die Netzwerkschnittstellen bestmglich auslastet. An der Transferraten gibt es nichts zu meckern.
In Kombination mit WD80EZAZ wird es aber unangenehm, denn der ganze Schreibtisch schwingt gut fhlbar mit. Geht fr mich gar nicht. Das Schwingen lassen kann im brigen das Synology DS220J noch etwas besser. Selbst ein betagtes Zyxel NSA325v2 oder NAS326 entkoppeln diese Festplatten besser. Am Ende ist es aber ein Synology DS218+ geworden. Da klappt die Entkopplung auch deutlich besser.
Es fcil de instalar y permite crear fcilmente una red domstica.
Donde lo coloque hacia bastante ruido pero lo solucion colocando una base de goma tipo alfombrilla.
As I’m new to the Nas scene I wanted something straight forward not to difficult to setup..
And this little machine provided that..Attaching the Hard drives very easy, Setting up the server straight forward.. My main purpose was to use Plex and Emby easy as pie just install the apps sign-in happy days..I even upgraded the memory not difficult at all..I Have to say I’m very happy with the system and highly recommend.. Faultless good job Terra Master!!
Fantastico Nas dall’aspetto ben curato: il case di alluminio ben rifinito e l’accesso ai drive estremamante semplice. La configurazione durata pochi minutil. L’ho collegato alla rete ed stato immediatamente visto da tutte le periferiche incluso un vecchio smart tv samsung. L’applicazione TOS intuitiva e ben fatta.
Really good easy to use Nas, I use it to run bit torrent along with multiple dockers. Streams 4k no problem over a lan network. Set up was easy. It’s slightly noisy but that’s because of the mixture of harddrives I have in it.
After looking long and hard at the market for a SOHO NAS, I finally settled for the Terramaster F2-221. The unit arrived promptly from Amazon, so did the 2x4TB Ironwolf drives I had ordered. Installation of the drives as RAID 1 (mirroring) was straightforward and the network quickly picked out the NAS. The unit is almost completely silent in operation. Tucked under my desk, I can hardly hear the whirring of the drives.
As a Linux user, I was rather disappointed initially by the fact that TNAS PC client software was available for only Mac and Windows platforms. But it soon became obvious that I could log in by a browser using the IP address of the NAS. But it would be nice if a Linux version was also available. I was pleasantly surprised by the plethora of APPs available, and installing those I wanted went without a hitch. Most users will find their needs covered. Configuring it as a remote server was surprisingly easy. You just give it a name and, presto, it’s done! Remote access speed is reasonable, but is limited not by the NAS but by the upload speed of your broadband. Unfortunately, fibre-to-fibre broadband is still not available to most users outside city centres in the UK (sigh).
I’ve read reviews of slow copying speeds to the NAS, which is puzzling, because I have not encountered the problem. With mine connected to my PC through a TP-LINK gigabit switch, copying is almost as fast as to my local drives. I have been transferring my ripped CD collection to it, and no complaints. Make sure your switch is up to it if you use one. As a DLNA server, the F2-221 works a dream with my smart TV which managed to pick out and sort the different types of media. Since Flickr started to monetise its services (how many more cloud will remain free?), I have been uneasy with saving things to such services. Google has been deleting stuff which you don’t use too often. And what would happen to your files if you defaulted in paying up? You are effectively chained to them. For a modest outlay, I’d rather be in full control of my data. And if you’re thinking the same, you should get one of this too.
Since this will sit on my desk I was a little concerned that I’d have a noisy and intrusive device disrupting my concentration. You can see however that compared to the size of a box of matches that it is very compact. And importantly for me, it is almost silent even when it is fully active.
It was also comparatively easy to set up even for me — and I’m no IT expert. It’s been running for about a month now and we’ve had no problems whatsoever. We use it for transferring video files but it can also be helpful as an extra drive for holding archived material.
It’s silent and looks great. And does the job just fine.
Easy enough to install.
Not so easy in the instructions side of things unless you are already aware of the technology and expertise required to run one of these properly.
Comes with more than a few nice free Apps that can be quite useful.

Come gi scritto anche per me bisogna migliorare il file manager interno ma si spostano tranquillamente i file direttamente in rete e la velocit trasferimento dati varia da 60 / 100 Mb/s anche se sulle caratteristiche da 200 in lettura e 190 in scrittura
In conclusione lo consiglio ne sono rimasto entusiasta anche per il buon rapporto qualit prezzo
Purchased the F5-221 for the 5 bays that it provides as this will allow me to add additional drives at a later date. Installed two Toshiba N300 8TB drives configured as RAID 1 and found it a breeze to install the Plex app on it, along with an external hard drive via USB while transferring my existing media collection over. No issues with the CPU or memory usage while simultaneously streaming 2 different films to TVs on my home network. As another reviewer pointed out, you can hear the disks when they are in use but I don’t consider it excessive and I’ve yet to move the NAS to a more permanent location inside the house where I’ll hear it less. It has a good range of other apps available e.g. Apache Tomcat, Docker, Go and I’m tempted to purchase a smaller Terramaster NAS at some point for another home project.

Bref du bonheur 100 moins cher minimum que SYNOLOGY ou QNAP et qui fait bien le job

Le catalogue d’application est limit ( j’ai quand mme install l’antivirus ClamAV – gratuit et OneDrive Snyc pour synchroniser mes dossiers ) mais ce n’est pas se qu’on cherche avec cette appareil.Je le laisse faire son boulot de base : sauvegarder mes fichiers et y accder rapidement partir de mes PC
As a small business owner who was looking to ensure I had a resilient NAS configuration (RAID1) with an easy install, easy setup and easy backup utility for all my business digital assets the TerraMaster F5-221 has been brilliant (see my digital image). The TerraMaster F5-221 sits easily next to my Laptop, makes almost no noise at all. Quiet device packed with functionality.
I have 5 bays in case my business NAS storage needs grows, currently 2 x 4TBs. The TerraMaster applications for managing my NAS have enable me to achieve the business objectives and there are applications which I have not yet used but will certainly use as my business develops.
Does the TerraMaster F5-221 provide great value for the money spent? Yes. My score is 5 out of 5.
I bought this box to store my considerable music collection on. I was getting fed up with keeping multiple backup copies of music on an ever growing number of external disks.
Setting up the F5-221 was a breeze. I populated it with 3 x 4TB Seagate Iron wolf drives. Set up a raid 5 array configuration giving me around 8Tb for my music. I also have two bays free for other stuff. Copying over my music took some time. I didn’t use the web based interface at all. Just mapped the box as an external drive to my computer and copied my files over directly. A minor niggle was that the CPU maxed out a few times during the copying process. A multi threaded processor might cure that. But as I said it was only a minor niggle as I don’t copy massive file very often. Buying this NAS boxt has set my mind at rest. With the raid 5 If a drive fails it’s a simple matter to hot swap another drive. The system will then rebuild itself with no loss of data.
I’ve been thinking about a NAS box for some time and eventually plunged in and got one. I even got a hefty discount from Amazon. Best thing I’ve bought since I got my first Amstrad in the 80s. Anybody thinking about getting a NAS box, go for it. I’m happy with my Terramaster F5-221.

Ottimo NAS, appena acceso riconosciuto sia da Mac che da Windows, la configurazione abbastanza semplice, basta seguire la guida fornita.
Per quanto riguarda la capacit ho installato 2 hdd ironwolf da 4tb in RAID1 e posso ritenermi soddisfatto, ho anche aumentato la ram a 4gb senza alcun problema, in quanto a consumi e rumorosit non posso lamentarmi. Ottimo come NAS casalingo.
Unica “pecca” ancora non ho avuto tempo di collegarlo all’UPS della vultech (provato e mi dava problemi da investigare)
Ottimo Nas domestico. Ho installato 2 dischi da 2 T che soddisfano le mie esigenze. Sono molto soddisfatto come server multimediale casalingo, in LAN funziona a meraviglia. Da remoto ho difficolt ad aprire i file con l’app TNAS (vanno prima scaricati) mentre con PLEX si vedono alla perfezione. Ottimo x avere un HD disponibile da remoto. Altre prove Nn ne ho fatte perch tutto scritto in inglese, forse l’unico lato negativo ma se si ha dimestichezza con i Nas un ottimo prodotto.
Despus de unos meses de uso, tengo que decir que este NAS me ha resultado mejor de lo que esperaba. No es solo un almacn de tus documentos digitales, al estilo de un disco duro externo, sino que te permite acceder a el de manera remota desde cualquier sitio o dispositivo.
Nada de ruido, muy configurable y fcil de intercambiar discos, incluso en caliente.
No le he puesto las cinco estrellas porque dentro de todas las aplicaciones que puedes descargarte para el, hay muy pocas para el usuario domstico y poqusimas en espaol.

A la hora de elegir cambiar mi WD Cloud Home a un NAS mas potente, opte por comprar el Terra Master F2-221. Al final el uso que le doy es mas bien el poder usar PLEX con total libertad y con excelente calidad. Ha estado funcionando de manera increible, con una velocidad que pareceria corro la pelicula directamente desde un disco; la calidad 4K es real.
Si bien es cierto que es mucho mas practico la manera que WD se integra con el ordenador, el sistema operativo de Terra Master tiene muchas mas opciones y mas libertad para configurar las aplicaciones que nos provee.
Muy contento con la compra!
La disponibilit di Emby (da prendere con subscription per sfruttare l’accelerazione hw del NAS) un eccellente plus, ma gi il TOS (Terrramaster OS) facile da usare e molto potente. Manca solo un client emule, per il resto la dotazione di sw installabile molto ricca. Per amule si pu ovviare installando un’immagine docker (nel docker integrato, davvero una feature eccellente !!!!).

I have had this box running for the last 12 hours and was up and running within a couple of minutes. I have configured it to run multiple volumes within an 8tb storage pool for a variety of applications such as Plex (this works really well with Plex, iTunes, Hyper-V (iSCSI Storage) and a pi hole (oddly to act as my dhcp server).
What I like about the product is that although it has a limited feature set (yet excellent value hardware specification) it does an excellent job and is stable and relatively intuitive. What I would like to see is some of the more advance features that their rivals do well, however, I believe this would increase the cost in the device.
The case does feel cheap when docking the hard disks or connecting cables – but as the device sits out of sight there is not much to be concerned about.
The only negative I have is that the user documentation is not that great for novice users and they would struggle getting this device up and running.
Overall? Fantastic product and well worth the purchase. I am to purchase another for remote site backup (my mothers house on the south coast of England 🙂 ) at some point.
Super easy to set up. Installed 4 x tosh n300 6tb running raid 10 to use as a server. Not worked out what to do with the 5th slot!. Plex works well. I have a separate dedicated 8tb backup drive as using raid in this is not technically a back up solution. .certain raid configs give you some redundancy. I am just being over cautios i gues as i nearly lost a lifetime of photos.
May not be as refind as some, but it is a very well made item and does the job well. Easy to set up although I did need some assistance from Terra techies to clarify rather than setup itself. This was only via email, but they did get back to me quickly. Fan is a bit noisy at times and I did expand the memory. Over all a good product.
I’ve had this product running 24/7 for a few months now and it’s been fantastic. I use it as a music server with Plex, a video and photo server and as a game server. It can run a game and stream music to multiple devices at the same time without breaking a sweat.
It is a little on the noisy side which whilst it isn’t an issue for me as I have a dedicated network cupboard it could be if it was placed in an occupied room.
It isn’t the easiest to set up but there’s plenty of help online. I have it loaded with two 3TB Western Digital red drives and it’s configured in RAID 1

Das Gert ist fr den Preis perfekt, es ist zu hren aber nun… Die Installation ist jetzt sicher nicht ganz trivial, aber so eine NAS kauft man sich nicht als Anfnger.
Trs simple installer avec 3 disques 12To pour commencer en Raid5 ajout d une RAM 8go phs il existe un tuto pour pouvoir monter la RAM et le site terramaster est bien fait. Impressionnant d’intgration. Marche super bien avec Time Machine.
Tengo que editar de nuevo mi valoracin inicial porque es justo dar al Csar lo que es del Csar.
Tras devolver la unidad adquirida (como siempre sin problemas, bien por Amazon), el servicio Tcnico de Terramaster insisti en enviarme otra unidad para que intentara reproducir las incidencias encontradas con la primera. Tras hacer pruebas exhaustivas con ella, la conclusin es que esa segunda unidad s funciona como se esperaba. Cero problemas, instalacin rpida y sin interrupciones, funcionamiento estable sin perder en ningn momento la conexin con el NAS.
Dejo mis comentarios anteriores por si alguien se encuentra los mismos problemas y pueden servirle de ayuda, pero repito, son debidos a una unidad defectuosa, NO DEBEN SER CONSIDERADOS PROBLEMAS GENERALES DE ESTE PRODUCTO.
En esto de la electrnica, hay veces en que uno se encuentra sorpresas. Pero para m este producto ha sido la mayor sorpresa (desagradable) de los ltimos aos.
Lo compr porque prcticamente todas las crticas aqu y en Internet son muy buenas. Adems, es cierto que el hardware es de lo mejor y ms teniendo en cuenta el precio. Pero mi impresin es que el software que mueve ese hardware est en un estado muy precario, al menos en lo que respecta a la compatibilidad y gestin de los discos duros.
Mi calvario empez hace unos das, cuando desempaquet el NAS y empec a instalarlo. Por cierto, todo lo que aparece en las pruebas y anlisis es verdad, viene muy bien empaquetado y con todo lo necesario, y es fcil de seguir las instrucciones para ponerlo en marcha (a pesar de que no se incluye manual en papel; todo est en la web de TerraMaster).
Para ver si todo iba correctamente, us dos discos duros que tena por casa, un WD de 2,5″ y 1TB y un Seagate de 3,5″ y 500GB. Con ninguno de los dos pude terminar la instalacin (al instalar el o los discos duros, el sistema operativo del NAS, llamado TOS, debe ser instalado en los HDD para la siguiente vez arrancar desde ah).
La instalacin se par en diferentes momentos, 60%, 90% con un mensaje del tipo “se ha producido un error, reinicie el NAS y vuelva a intentarlo”. Ninguna otra indicacin con ms detalle de lo que podra pasar.
Tras intentar esto infinitas veces, se me ocurri inicializar uno de los discos escribiendo ceros en el mismo y creando de nuevo la tabla de particiones (en este caso GPT) para intentar que el disco quedara igual que cuando sali de fbrica (dado que hay una indicacin en el manual de instalacin sobre que los discos usados en otros equipos pueden dar problemas. En este caso, s consegu terminar la instalacin (y la verdad es que fue rpida, aunque con un reinicio entre medias tras un error, pero al reiniciar el proceso continu bien).
Pens que haba solucionado mis problemas, pero nada ms lejos de la realidad. Ya con TOS instalado en el HDD, el NAS arrancaba correctamente, pero a los 5-10 min dejaba de responder a ping, el programa existente para acceder al NAS (TNAS PC) dejaba de encontrarlo y la homepage era inaccesible. Es ms, no haba ms forma de apagar el NAS que a la fuerza (presionando durante ms de 4 segundos el botn de encendido).
He vuelto a inicializar ambos HDD (proceso completo, unas 2-3 horas), repetir la instalacin, etc., sin xito (no he llegado ni a terminar la instalacin, a pesar de preparar los discos igual que la vez que s pude instalar el sistema). O tienes el NAS sin discos o con discos (igual uno que otro que los dos) termina quedndose colgado, normalmente antes de terminar la instalacin.
En resumen, tengo un bonito pisapapeles de 200 y pico euros en casa, al que le voy a dar una ltima oportunidad (acabo de enviar un email a Soporte de TerraMaster a ver qu me dicen). Si no me proporcionan una solucin adecuada, el artculo ir de vuelta a Amazon, sintindolo en el alma porque la verdad es que prometa y adems me queda la duda de qu tengo yo de especial si a todo el mundo le funciona tan bien.
Anexo a continuacin la transcripcin del email enviado a TerraMaster, donde hay algo ms de detalle sobre las pruebas que he ido haciendo, por si a alguien puede ayudarle.

EDITO TRAS HABLAR CON EL SERVICIO TCNICO
Segn Postventa de Terramaster, mis dos discos duros estn defectuosos (curioso, porque los he estado usando sin problemas, uno en un PC y otro como unidad externa, los mltiples formateos de alto y bajo nivel que he hecho estos das y los sanity check no han dado error en ningn momento; incluso en la instalacin de TOS se marcan como Good).
Soporte Tcnico me ha proporcionado una respuesta algo menos “estndar”. Segn ellos, HDD diferentes a los WD Red o Seagate IronWolf (y resto de la lista de recomendados) pueden presentar problemas de velocidad (?). En cualquier caso, ayer compr un Seagate IronWolf 2TB para ver si por fin solucionaba el problema.
He de decir que la instalacin ha ido bastante mejor que con mis anteriores HDD’s (aunque he tenido que reiniciar con botonazo), pero 5 minutos despus de arrancar con la nueva instalacin, el sistema se ha colgado de nuevo.
Conclusin: otro poco dinero gastado para nada, y por supuesto el problema no es de los discos duros (vamos, si los tres estn mal me hago monje de clausura).
Ya estoy tramitando la devolucin de este dispositivo. No tengo ms remedio que RECOMENDAR ENCARECIDAMENTE NO COMPRARLO, AL MENOS ESTE MODELO.

El servicio tcnico me ha ofrecido conectarse a mi PC por TeamViewer para intentar dar con el problema.

This item is shipped without HDD’s, as you probably know.
Once received, I tried to setup the system using a pair of HDD’s I had at home, concretely:
– Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 SATA3 500 GB (ST3500418AS), Firmware CC38
– WD Blue 5.400RPM SATA3 1TB (WD10JPCX), Firmware 01.01A01
First, I used only the Seagate unit. With this HDD installed in the slot 1, I switch on the system but TNAS PC couldn’t find the NAS. Ok, HDD out of the NAS and switch on again. Then, the NAS was found without any problem, so I installed the HDD (hot swap) and started the installation through the homepage. However, the installation failed at 60%. I tried this process many times, getting similar errors at different % of the process, mainly at 60% and 90%.
After this, I changed the HDD, repeating the attempts with the WD. But results were similar to those got before.
Third idea was to initialize the HDD before installing in the NAS, using WD Data LifeGuard Diagnostics. So, I wrote 0’s in the beginning and end of the HDD, and then initialized the unit using the disk manager in Windows 10 (GPT partition type). Once the HDD was ready again, new try similar to the ones I had done before, but this time I was able to install TOS 4.1.18 (online install; I had tried before online and offline installations). Good!!!
Once TOS was installed, I initiated the NAS and accessed it with admin user. Everything seemed to work properly, but suddenly, the NAS stop responding. The homepage froze, ping to the assigned IP provided by DHCP failed and there was no way to get it working again. Lights in the unit are on (network one blinking, indeed, but connection is totally lost).
I’ve not been able to get the NAS working during properly during more than 5 minutes. After lots of testing and tries, I’ve concluded these facts:
– NAS works properly if no HDD’s are installed:
– It initiates and in a while, it is visible for TOS PC, and homepage can be opened
– NAS can be switched off by pressing briefly the power button
– Switching on with an HDD installed
– NAS initiates but it is not visible for TOS PC and homepage is not accesible
– NAS CANNOT be switched off by pressing briefly the power button; it is neccessary to pressing it for more than 4 seconds or so
– Switching on without HDD installed and then push the HDD into the unit (hot swap)
– It initiates and in a while, it is visible for TOS PC, and homepage can be opened
– I can log in and start managing, configuring, etc., the NAS
– After 5 minutes or so, connection is lost, what means no NAS is detected by TOS PC neither homepage is available
– At this point the only option is switch off the NAS by long pressing of the power button (removing the HDD doesn’t give back responsiveness to the system)
Today, I’ve been initializing both HDD’s again (complete writing with 0’s this time in both units). But it’s been impossible for me to finish TOS installation again.
Unidad recibida defectuosa, muy bien con una nueva unidad
I purchased this to use between a couple of PC’s and it is excellent, I increased the RAM from 2gb to 4gb with an easy fit TERRAMASTER 2GB DDR3 RAM module. Fantastic packaging, solid construction and super simple to get up and running. I fitted 2 x Toshiba N300 8TB and 2 x Seagate 4 TB IronWolf drives and set them up both as RAID 1 plus I stuck in a 4tb Samsung SSD in the 5th bay. I will say that mine can be pretty noisy when the drives are chirpping away which the do even with no PC accessing them 80% of the time but the great thing with Ethernet is you can place it anywhere so it doesn’t have to be right next to you, you can even add a wireless usb stick and access it over wi-fi. It’s much faster than any 3.1 USB hard drive I have attached directly to my PC and easily streams 4k 60 fps on both machines. I love it and will buy more.

Es muy estable en velocidad de transferencia de datos, no he tenido ningn corte.
El HDMI que incluye no es para usarlo como reproductor, solo es un monitor de la interfaz.
Lo he puesto como servidor PLEX y estoy encantado.
NAS Terramaster F5-221. Lo uso para almacenar de todo: videos, msica, fotos, documentos… junto a 2 discos WD Red 4TB, en RAID 1.

Acabado metlico, muy bien rematado. Es realmente compacto para alojar 5 discos duros.
Es muy silencioso, pensaba que sonara ms. Me falta probarlo a transcodificar 4k, que puede ser lo ms exigente que haga. Pero por ahora, no se oye gran cosa.
Muy fcil de poner en marcha, en 15 miuntos mximo lo tienes configurado. En mi caso, una configuracin RAID 1, con dos discos de 4Tb.
La conexin por VPN funciona muy bien, tanto desde la app como desde el cliente de escritorio.

El sistema operativo (TOS) es bastante espartano, un poco lioso de manejar al principio.

COMPRA RECOMENDADA. Me encanta este NAS. Vale la mitad que su homolog de marcas ms prestigiosas, como Synology o QNAP. El nico punto flaco, su sistema operativo. Aun as, su funcionamiento es perfecto, ha cumplido las expectativas por ahora.
Tras leer las crticas negativas sobre la facilidad de uso, aplicaciones, etc., me he llevado una agradable sorpresa, teniendo en cuenta que soy un novato y es mi primer NAS: No he tenido ningn problema ni en la instalacin ni en el funcionamiento. De hecho ya puedo distribuir mis videos de viajes y fotos a mis familiares y amigos. Una pega, por ignorancia, que tuve, fue resuelta al da siguiente, por el Equipo de Soporte de Terramaster, muy amables, claros y concisos. Tambin desde Amazn me respondieron a esa duda. De momento, estoy muy satisfecho. Las aplicaciones de TOS que he utilizado, hasta ahora, sin ningn problema. Tanto TOS como la aplicacin TNAS en Androide son muy intuitivas.
I’ve used Terramaster before, F2-220 and F4-220, and was satisfied with the products and ease of use.
I’ve just purchased an F5-221 to replace my ageing QNAP NAS because it no longer gets PLEX updates and therefore cannot provide the service I require.
I had an issue with the new F5-221 just purchased. I logged onto this machine and File Manager did not respond.
I was using the default Internet Explorer V11.
I contacted Terramaster support via email and they responded in 13 hours (Time zones factor I guess). They requested certain information, which I supplied, and they recommended that I use Google Chrome or FireFox. I used Google Chrome and that worked successfully. I simply never thought that the browser might be the problem. DOH!
Anyway, I am VERY satisfied with the response and help that Terramaster Support provided and I recommend them.
Ich hatte vor knapp 2 Jahren den Vorgnger (F2-220) und lange berlegt, ob ich mir das Gert hier hole. Warum ich da etwas berlegt habe, liegt daran, dass man damals die Lfter mit einem alternativen System nicht steuern konnte, einen VGA Adapter bentigte und die HDD LED’s immer rot leuchten.
Aktuell sieht es so aus, dass man ein HDMI Anschluss vorhanden ist und man auch die Lfter via fancontrol steuern kann. Leider gibt es immer noch keine Mglichkeit die HDD LED’s anzupassen.
Wer kein alternatives System verwenden mchte, der ist mit dem TOS bestimmt gut bedient. Der erste Eindruck war sehr flssig.
Ich wrde das Gert immer wieder weiterempfehlen, aufgrund der Tatsache, dass man ein alternatives OS verwenden kann.
So verwende ich das Gert mit Openmediavault und das Gert macht das, was es soll.
Sehr gute Cloud. Einfache Einrichtung, praktische Android-App, einfache Freigabe von Ordnern fr viele Benutzer, flotte Geschwindigkeiten, sehr gut als Downloadstation geeignet, zur Video-Konvertierung (x264 1080p in x265 1080p) aber leider ungeeignet (ca. 1fps), was am Prozessor liegt (dieses Feature ist natrlich keine Kernfunktion der Cloud), Plex Media Player luft SUPER!
Wer Docker-Container oder andere aufwndigere Funktionen nutzen will sollte den RAM upgraden (8GB kosten ca. 40 Euro, dann hat man 12Gb; der Einbau ist etwas fummelig).
I love this nas drive. The interface is nice and slick and easy to navigate. The system is quick and handles everything I throw at it. I had slight issue with app store after an upgrade and tech support were just amazing. They have kept me informed throughout the fix. Terramaster are the best don’t pay more for no gain.
Este NAS no solo me ha soprendido gratamente…sino que ahora no dejo de recomendarlo entre mis conocidos. No conoca la marca pero lo ped por los buenos comentarios de un amigo, adems de que tena un precio mas que razonable. El envo fue muy rpido, el empaquetado correcto y el proceso de instalacin muy simple. Ahora mismo est funcionando 24 horas dando servicio con Plex Servidor que era lo que necesitaba. Tengo 15 usuarios que se conectan de forma remota y el NAS responde perfectamente. Las actualizaciones y soporte por parte de TerraMaster es de 10, adems de que te puedes comunicar con ellos en castellano. Me han resuelto varias dudas tcnicas de forma rpida y eficiente…vamos que no puedo estar mas contento. Tengo 2 discos duros de 6 tb + 1 de 3tb conectado por usb 3.0 y todo funciona como un reloj. Las aplicaciones habituales que se encuentran en un NAS estn ah, adems con Docker las posibilidades son ilimitadas. Recientemente le han aadido un servidor vpn que me viene de perlas. 10/10!
Todo ok, El Terramaster cumple con mis expectativas, la transcodificacin funciona perfecto y las dudas que he tenido me las han resuelto via email rpidamente.
The F2-221 NAS 2bay Cloud Storage Intel Dual-Core bought couples of months ago is still rocking as if it was purchased today. It is an absolute good value for money and ideal for family cloud storage. Its a must-have for all the tech geeks out there. Highly recommended!
Dieses NAS-Gert kommt standartmig mit 2GB RAM und einen stromsparenden Processor. Die Festplatten-Caddies sind sowohl fr 3.5″, als auch fr 2.5″ HDDs/SSDs geeignet. Was ich aber besonders attraktiv finde, sind aber die 64-bit Intel CPU, der erweiterbare Speicher und die internen USB Ports. Die 2 externen USB 3.0 Ports und der HDMI Ausgang machen die installation eines alternativen Betriebssystems mglich und zwar ganz einfach. Man kann das Ding sogar als einen kompakten PC benutzen.
Das Terra-Master OS sieht gut aus und bietet die Basisfunktionalitt (auch iSCSI) an, aber ich wollte mehr – mir fehlten Virtualisierung und Nextcloud 🙂
Drauf lassen sich sowohl FreeNAS, als auch OpenMediaVault installieren (auf ein USB Laufwerk, das man an den internen USB Port anschliet). Auf FreeNAS habe ich schnell verzichtet, da die F2-221 keinen ECC-Speicher hat. OpenMediaVault funktioniert soweit einwandfrei (die HDD LEDs leuchten aber konstant rot).
Laut Intels Spezifikationen untersttzt die J3355 CPU nur bis 8GB RAM. Die 2 GB sind auf dem Mainboard verltet und es gibt nur einen Speichersteckplatz (SO-DIMM). Theoretisch knnte man also nur 4GB (keine 6GB Module) reinstecken, aber mit 8 GB hat es auch funktioniert – das Betriebssystem sieht ca. 9GB Speicher.
P.S. Als ich die Schreib- und Lesegeschwindigkeiten gemessen habe, war eine SSD im NAS.
zuerst juli 2019: sehr rgerlich – auch nach vielen versuchen ist die initialisierung der festplatten nicht mglich gewesen. weder mit mac os noch mit win10. bin erfahrener user, habe firewall abgedreht und sicher keine fehler gemacht. bei der initialisierung meldete die software einen “programmfehler”. support von terra-master meldete sich entgegen des versprechens (24h) bislang nicht (36h) —> produkt geht retour an amazon.

update 13.8.2019: hersteller hat sich einige tage spter gemeldet und kostenlos eine neues gert zum testen geschickt (geschenkt), obwohl ich beim ersten das geld erstattet bekommen habe. beeindruckend!
Premetto che non conoscevo il brand TerraMaster ed i loro prodotti fino a quando non ho visto una recensione sul canale Youtube “Craft Computing” proprio relativa al modello F2-221.
In fase di installazione ho incontrato uno scoglio non indifferente: il programma di configurazione iniziale non riusciva ad individuare il NAS! Il problema dipendeva dalla configurazione di rete del mio computer, configurato con degli switch virtuali di Hyper-V che non lasciavano passare i pacchetti necessari per il funzionamento del software di configurazione. Utilizzato un altro computer con una connessione ethernet “diretta” non ci sono stati problemi.
Il software TOS, che viene installato in fase di configurazione iniziale sui dischi rigidi installati nei due bay, da accesso a tantissime funzionalit di condivisione, sebbene le uniche che utilizzi siano SMB/CIFS e iSCSI, oltre che DLNA per la condivisione dei media.
Architetturalmente, TOS un sistema operativo basato su Linux la cui interfaccia principale un’applicazione web scritta in PHP con un frontend javascript molto ben curato. I sorgenti dovrebbero essere disponibili online.
Il file system utilizzato per i dischi interni Btrfs, di cui non sono un particolare fan (gli preferisco sicuramente ZFS), ma capisco e giustifico al 100% la decisione di utilizzare tale fs.
La velocit di trasferimento file con una singola porta ottima. Data la topologia della mia rete non ho effettuato prove di bonding delle due interfacce, avendo comunque un uplink ad un singolo Gbps dallo switch cui collegato il NAS verso il resto della rete.
Silenziosissimo, la ventola posteriore regola automaticamente la velocit in base alle temperature. Al minimo veramente inudibile (non tenendo conto del rumore dei dischi ovviamente).
possibile installare una serie di pacchetti per estendere le funzionalit del sistema operativo, quali Git, database come MariaDB, supporto a linguaggi di programmazione quali Ruby o Python o interi applicativi open source.
Presente il supporto a PLEX, sebbene non lo utilizzi: preferisco il minimalismo e l’autonomia consentitami dal protocollo DLNA.
Una nota per i pi tecnici: l’unit da 2GB dispone di uno slot per SODIMM (ma devo ancora appurare se DDR3L o DDR4) per cui dovrebbe essere possibile portare la RAM a 4GB senza particolari problemi.
Inoltre, l’avvio iniziale precedente l’installazione del sistema operativo avviene da una chiavetta USB, collegata internamente ad un comunissimo connettore USB A, sulla quale presente un GRUB 2: si tratta pur sempre di un computer x64 basato su UEFI.
Tutto ci apre le porte a scenari potenzialmente molto interessanti, nel caso si voglia sperimentare…
Ovviamente, avere solo due bay implica poter usare solo met del totale dello spazio di archiviazione installato una volta configurato il mirroring, pertanto nel caso servano maggiori capacit di archiviazione (oltre 4/6 TB) sar conveniente puntare sui modelli con 5 bay.
In conclusione, lo raccomando sicuramente soprattutto ad utenti di fascia intermedia… e anche qualcosina in pi.
Valuter sicuramente TerraMaster per acquisti futuri.

Overall Terramaster have created a very versatile and powerful home NAS. As they have updated their OS (from TOS 3 to TOS 4) I think it’s become even better!
I have been very happy with my F4-220 (purchased in April 2018) and as I wanted something a bit more powerful, I ended up getting the F4-421 and I haven’t looked back.
This device has the same specs as a Synology ds918+ but for a fraction of the price, it’s definitely worth considering if you’re in the market for a new NAS.
Ich bin durch einen Artikel in der Zeitschrift c’t auf die Marke TerraMaster aufmerksam geworden. Das besondere an diesen Gerten – im Gegensatz zu Synology oder QNAP – ist, dass die Gerte auf einer “ganz normalen” Intel x86-Plattform basieren. Das NAS ist also ein herkmmlicher PC ohne Einschrnkungen, somit lsst sich auch ein normales Linux, BSD oder sogar Windows 10 auf diesem Gert installieren und nutzen.
Im Gegensatz zu den Vorgngermodellen verfgt die aktuelle Generation (zu erkennen an einer 1 am Ende der Modelnummer, bspw. F4-421, F2-221, …) ber einen HDMI-Anschluss. Auf den Bildern des Herstellers ist der HDMI-Anschluss nicht abgebildet, das Gert verfgt aber ber einen. Damit kann man einfach einen Monitor anschlieen und beispielsweise in das BIOS/EFI gelangen oder eben ein anderes Betriebssystem installieren.
Verpackung
Die Verpackung ist nicht versiegelt, allerdings ist das Gert selbst nocheinmal in einer Plastikfolie mit einem TerraMaster-Siegel verschlossen.
Lieferumfang
Im Lieferumfang ist…
– das NAS selbst,
– eine Vielzahl an Schrauben zur Montage von HDDs und SSDs,
– ein Schraubendreher, der auch fr die Gehuseschrauben passt,
– Ersatzfe fr das Gehuse,
– ein Netzwerkkabel (Cat6, UTP),
– ein Netzteil mit EU- und UK-Netzstecker,
– Bedienungsanleitung und Garantiekarte,
– Set auf Aufklebern/Labels zur Beschriftung der Laufwerksschchte
Verarbeitung
Das Gert ist sehr gut verarbeitet, das Gehuse ist aus solidem Metall. Auch der auf den Bildern eher wackelig aussehende Einschaltknopf macht einen hochwertigen Eindruck. Die Laufwerkseinschbe sind allerdings aus Kunststoff. Ein Intel-Aufkleber, wie auf den Herstellerfotos, ist nicht auf dem Gehuse vorhanden. Der Werbeaufkleber an der Front lsst sich einfach abziehen.
Stromverbrauch
Der Stromverbrauch liegt bei etwas 11 Watt im Idle (ohne Festplatten) und zwischen 1 und 2 Watt im Standby.
Die CPU-Khlung erfolgt passiv, es ist aber auf dem Mainboard ein PWM-PIN-Header fr einen CPU-Lfter vorhanden, den man noch verbauen knnte (bspw. durch Austausch des Khlkrpers). Die CPU-Temperatur bewegt sich nach lngerer Laufzeit zwischen 45C und 55C. Die beiden oberen Netzwerkschnittstellen sind direkt mit dem Mainboard verbunden, die beiden unteren sind intern ber USB verdrahtet, schaffen aber auch 1 Gbit/s.
Das vorinstallierte Betriebssystem TOS habe ich nicht getestet. Es ist aber einfach auf einem USB-Stick installiert, der sich problemlos entfernen lsst. Der USB-Stick ist auch nicht wie bei den Vorgngermodellen verklebt. Das Gert kann auch von externen USB-Sticks booten, das Gehuse muss also nicht zwingend geffnet werden. Im brigen kann das Gert auch von den Festplatten booten. Die beiden internen USB-Anschlsse arbeiten mit USB 2.0, wohingegen die beiden Externen mit USB 3.1 mit bis zu 5 GBit/s betrieben werden knnen.
Auf dem Mainboard sind bereits 4 GB Arbeitsspeicher verltet. Der Arbeitsspeicher lsst sich durch ein 4 GB DDR3 Modul auf insgesammt 8 GB erweitern. Die Spezifikation des Herstellers gibt zwar eine maximale Speichergre von 12 GB (4 GB + 8 GB) an, allerdings kann die Plattform nicht mehr als 8 GB Arbeitsspeicher verwalten (siehe Spezifikation von Intel).
Ich habe mich hinsichtlich des Betriebssystems fr OpenMediaVault entschieden, was hervorragend und performant auf dem Gert arbeitet. Lediglich die HDD-LEDs am Front-Panel sind permanent rot, dies sollte sich jedoch durch ein wenig Konfiguration noch anpassen lassen.
Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Kauf und kann das Gert nur weiteremfehlen, insbesondere wenn man alternative Betriebssysteme wie FreeNAS oder OpenMedieVault verwenden mchte.
Die TerraMaster F2-221 NAS ist schnell, hat einen HDMI Port und USB 3.0. Sie ist damit auch durch den Preis den Kauf wert.
Die Software bietet zwar auch Docker an, jedoch ist die Verfgbarkeit von Anwendungen doch stark begrenzt. Das Beitriebssystem (TOS) bietet sehr wenig Einstellungmglichkeit. Rsync konnte ich ber die Weboberflche nicht zum Einsatz bringen. Auch die Anleitungen seitens des Herstellers sind hier sehr dftig. Es gibt im Internet aber dieverse Artikel, wie man auf dieser NAS ein anderes Betriebsystem instllieren kann.
Wie gesagt, die Hardware ist sehr gut aber Aufgrund der geringen Einstellungsmglichkeiten, geringer Informationen und da meine Anfrage nach einer Rechnung schlichtweg ignoriert wurde, nur drei Sterne.
Nachtrag am 27.05.2019:
Der Verkufer hat mir dann doch eine Rechnung und zustzlich eine detailierte Beschreibung speziell fr das rsync zukommen lassen. Daher 4 Sterne und nur ein Stern abzug fr das noch geringe kosystem bei den Apps.
Despus de un mes de uso debo decir que me ha sorprendido gratamente este dispositivo. Facilidad, fiabilidad, rendimiento y un sin fin de pros. Lo tengo montado con discos WD Red y el rendimiento es inmejorable. Buena comunicacin con Terramaster, y un SO en pleno crecimiento. Todo un acierto, lo recomiendo al 200%
Habe mir diesen Netzwerkspeicher als Ersatz fr mein altes Netgear Ready NAS 104 geholt, da die bertragungsgeschwindigkeit einfach zu langsam war. Anforderungen meinerseits waren: Schnelle Datenbertragung, gnstige Anschaffung, Mglichkeit der Anbindung eines externen Speichers und der Plex Media Server sollte darauf laufen knnen. Deshalb viel meine Wahl auf das Terramaster F2-221. Bei der betragungsgeschwindigkeit wird das Maximum der Gigabit Verbindung heruasgeholt und auch Plex luft einwandfrei. Das System drfte auch zuverlssig laufen, da es nun schon ber 35 Tage problemfrei durchluft. Klare Kaufempfehlung meinerseits.
In the past i have used other Terramaster NAS units and using the F2-221 shows that Terramaster is improving their devices. One of the things that i have loved to see is that the app store is getting more and more aps and that will give us the option to do more with the same hardware.
Was easy to setup, silent and easy to use. Hopefully the video is helpful.
Purchased this and very surprised at the features and quality for the price, it has its own OS, TOS which I have attached photos of, this is easy to use, has a GUI and runs Docker, Plex, iTunes server, AntiVirus, a host of services, a cloud option, a health app, all in all it is very easy to use and setup, installed 2 x 2TB SSD’s which fit straight onto the cartridge chassis, no need for a fitting kit!
TOS is easy to install, instructions were clear and easy to follow, I locked myself out of the OS as I forgot the password, support were very helpful in getting me in, quick response and called me back during their support hours which was very good, don’t be put off the other review, in my opinion this is a great device, I have been in IT for a few years and for the price I paid I am very glad I purchased the F2-221.
You can install containers using Docker and I have it set up to use NZBGET and this can connect to Newsgroups to use NZB files to get my media straight onto the NAS, no computer required, this is a great media server and works great with the Plex or Media app from Terramaster, stream straight to my Samsung TV with no encoding required, in full 4k with Atmos sound!!! It also has an iTunes server should you need it and you can use dual LAN connections also if needed to increase speed.
There is a cloud and remote access option which I have not used, but it looks pretty simple.
All in all I would recommend this and would have purchased the 5 bay version if I had the money 🙂

After watching a few YouTube reviews of this NAS I bought this to replace my Synology 114play. I was a little worried it wouldn’t be as good, I was pleased this wasn’t the case. Setup was easy and it was up and running in no time. Apps are good and in some cases better! I’m using PLEX which runs really smooth and very quick. Well pleased.
Klasse Gert. Genial da sich darauf auch eigene Storage-Lsungen und sogar andere PC-basierende Betriebssysteme installieren lassen. Bei der ersten Inbetriebnahme wird aber schon ein brauchbares System installiert was fr den Zweck vllig ausreichend ist. Einen Hdmi-Ausgang besitzt das Gert auch. Negativ ist eigentlich nur der kleine Speicher von 2GB. Dieser lsst sich aber nachtrglich aufrsten.
Somo molto contento dell’acquisto. Seguendo le istruzioni, pur senza essere un esperto, ho montato due dischi senza difficolt in configurazione Raid 1. E’ bastato seguire le istruzioni. Lo consiglio caldamente anche per un uso non professionale. Non occorre essere degli esperti.
Godd budget NAS. Has lots of interesting functionalities. Not intuitive though and a bit of a pain to map the drive on Windows (hence the 4 stars) but linux had no problem finding it. Overall a good choice if you are in abudget.
Economico, interfaccia web semplice con guida in linea. Ho sostituito un freeNAS, questo molto pi semplice. Una latenza di circa 20 secondi dopo che non lo si usato per ore, dovuta al fatto che spegne i dischi (forse si pu disabilitare). Case ben fatto ma plasticona.
Very easy to setup, originally purchased so i could backup my drives and connect my security cameras. Drive backups are simple and straight forward, but i could not connect my Eufy cameras it is DOES NOT SUPPORT RSTP. Still a good NAS but hopefully they will update to support RSTP or I will need to change it.
achdem mein WD Laufwerk nicht mehr funktioniert und man hierzu keine Hilfe bekommt habe ich mir den Terra Master gekauft. Er ist von der Inbetriebnahme bis hin zur Verwendung sehr gut zu bedienen. Habe bis jetzt nur gute Erfahrung gemacht und wrde es mir immer wieder kaufen. Auch kann man zweierlei Festplatten 3,5 Zoll sowie 2,5 Zoll verbauen.
This NAS was easy to set up and was cheaper that all comparable makes. I purchased this to set up my PLEX server for all of my DVDs and it’s only a day old and I’m very please. I will write a further review should there be any long term problems.
A couple of minor concerns though, the first is that when you check out all the online tutorials it turns up in a posh blue box, my one was a brown one, the online one had a HDMI socket mine does not? Is this an older model? Was it sold cheaper? Not major issues but a bit of a worry.
Sono molto soddisfatto dell’acquisto. Installazione e software molto facili da utilizzare e comprensibili. Ha subito letto e masterizzato i miei dischi HDD. Ho inserito 2 dischi per raid e 2 dischi per condividere archivi musicali e fotografici. Ho anche utilizzato uno scomparto per inserire un SSD con funzione cache che ha velocizzato sensibilmente l’accesso al sistema. Credo che il prodotto non abbia nulla da invidiare ai pi blasonati e costosi prodotti Synology e Qnap.
Sono alla prima esperienza con un simile tipo di prodotto, e devo dire che a un primo utilizzo sono davvero soddisfatto. lo consiglio
I bought the F5-221 to use as a vanilla NAS storage device. Installed 2 x WD 6TB purple drives (RAID1), along with the TOS system. It was running fine for 10 months. However, when I upgraded the OS to version 4.2.07, it started to beep and proceed to power off at random times.
Made a post on the TerraMaster forums about it, and emailed them. The forum mods were prompt in replying, and the CS person was prompt in answering my emails. After a couple of messages, they asked me to return the unit to a UK address (I paid for the shipping, about 7), and shipped a new unit to me via Amazon Logistics.
The new unit is on OS version 4.2.08-2101111540, and has been running for the past 14 days with no issues. The only blip is that this new unit seems to vibrate, relatively loudly, intermittently. Could probably be solved by inserting some padding around the case.
Ho avuto modo di acquistare pi sistemi Nas, dai Netgear ai WD EX2ultra. TerraMaster F221 e ‘ quello che si addice pi alle mie necessit. Robusto, ben fatto e molto veloce, configurato in RAID 1 (mirroring) con dischi IRONWOLF NAS da 4TB. Estesa immediatamente la RAM a 6 Gbytes, il sistema anche sotto stress test risulta silenzioso (sento solo il rumore dei dischi).
Se devono fare un confronto con Il WD EX2ULTRA Terramaster pi professionale, adatto sicuramente ad ambienti IT strutturati. La possibilit di bilanciare il carico delle richieste (throughput ) mettendo a disposizione due schede di rete non un dettaglio da poco.
Con molti accessi simultanei e richieste di upstream e downstream impegnative, mentre i concorrenti Nas si frizzano, l ‘F221 in bilanciamento non produce lag e server in maniera fluida le richieste.
Ho gradito molto la dotazione di applicazioni server attivabili. Ora si tratta di verificarne l’affidabilit nel tempo e la cadenza degli aggiornamenti del firmware.
La configurazione e la messa in esercizio, stata semplice, adatta anche a meno esperti.
Soluzione ideale. Valuter sicuramente nel futuro la possibilit di approdare a modelli superiori prezzo permettendo.
Metto 4 stelle perch opero in ambienti “Enterprise” e sono abituato a dispositivi molto pi complessi ma dai prezzi decisamente non accessibili.

Ottimo prodotto e buone aspettative. Do 4 stelle perch tramite plex il 4k arranca fuori casa. Per farlo funzionare devi farti l’abbonamento. Invece nella propia rete di casa funziona tutto alla perfezione. Facile installazione e procedura di configurazione.
Come sistema operativo purtroppo ha poche applicazioni ma per il prezzo va pi che bene per un uso domestico. Consigliatissimo.

La verdad es que no conoca sta marca y tena algunas reticencias a la hora de comprarlo, pero ahora no me arrepiento, tampoco es que haya probado ningn otro dispositivo como ste.
El nivel de ruido es muy bajo, si no es que est el disco duro en “accin” no notas que est encedido, el software que trae instalado es bastante completo y se puede configurar diferentes usuarios y diferentes sistemas de acceso.
Yo lo compr para hacer backups de un servidor que tengo, las hago a travs de SFTP y no he tenido problemas en configurarlo.
Recomiendo su compra.

habe die Terra Master F2-221 nun ein Jahr, die Ansteuerung durch die Netzwerkbndelung ist echt super, man Klikt auf den Netzwerkordner und dieser geht zeitgleich auf – fantastisch. Ich habe eine Raid eins gemacht mit 4Trrabyte und diese in vier Volumen unterteilt um so diese fr jeden in der Familie nutzbar zu machen mit deinem eigenen Netzlaufwerk und Kontingent. Eine super Sache. Ich habe leider das Dateiformat btrfs benutzt, dadurch wird die Konfiguration etwas fr Fortgeschrittene. Werde mich reinarbeiten, ansonsten ist das echt klasse. Die App heruntergeladen und von Unterwegs aus alle wichtigen Daten zugreifen ist schon ein interresantes Gefhl. Natrlich nicht das Passwort scpeichern in der App – zwecks Sicherheit!
Kann ich empfehlen das Teil.

Initialisation du NAS assez facile en suivant les tapes, logiciel a tlcharger qui va scanner l’adresse IP du NAS puis install l’OS sur le NAS.
C’est ma premire exprience d’installer un NAS de A Z, plutt facile.
Il n’y a pas beaucoup d’applications par rapport d’autres marques mais pour mon utilisation a devrait pour l’instant me suffire.
Client Bittorent dispo pour tlcharger sans laisser son PC allum, bien pratique, serveur FTP que j’ai paramtr pour utilis en sauvegarde des enregistrements vido et photo de mes camras IP (les enregistrements dclenchs sur dtections sont donc envoy en FTP sur mon NAS) vu que ce NAS n’a pas la possibilit d’utilis une application type NVR ou CMS, j’ai trouv cette solution simple pour sauver les enregistrements
La cration des comptes utilisateurs, groupe, partage de fichier est facile
Pour l’instant mon regret est la version Android ou Ipad que je ne trouve pas du tout la hauteur de ce que fait la concurrence, c’est dommage, mais ergonomie de l’appli date d’un autre Age, je n’ai pas trouv (peut tre possible ?) comment ajouter un torrent distance.
Pour l’instant l’accs au NAS depuis l’extrieur via l’appli Android ne fonctionne pas, j’ai pourtant mis une IP Fixe et effectu un NAT sur ma BOX, il faut que je peaufine la doc en ligne et forum pour vrifier mes paramtres, mais y’a pas de raison que a ne fonctionne pas.
J’ai test la copie d’une clef USB sur un des 2 ports USB3 sur les disques du NAS, c’tait plutt lent pourtant avec une clef Scandisk USB3 de 32Go (Dbit entre 7 et 11Mo/s)
Pour le transfert sur le rseau pas encore test car pour l’instant mon MAC et PC sont en WIFI pour atteindre le NAS
J’espre que l’application Android va s’amliorer prochaineme

Je lui ai install 2 paires de disques et un ssd, j’ai pu jouer avec l’interface et je n’ai pas rencontr de problmes majeurs, pour ce qu’on lui demande de faire dans mon cas (stocker des donnes en SMB) c’est relativement facile utiliser.
A noter que je me refuse d’installer des applications pour installer mon matriel, donc j’ai fait l’installation en dtectant son adresse ip en dhcp auprs de mon routeur et ceci depuis un navigateur.
J’ai galement procd aux tests d’usage : retrait d’un disque en plein fonctionnement (ralentissements sans interruption de service), rinsrer le disque et reconstruire le raid… Rien d’inquitant, tout fonctionne.
Pour les points ngatifs :
– ce n’est pas vraiment document, mais le systme stocke sa configuration sur le premier volume cr sur le premier pool de stockage (Crant de fait plusieurs “dossiers partags”). Vous ne pouvez pas finir la configuration sans crer ce pool, et ce volume. Donc faites le, jouez avec le matriel, et une fois que vous avez dcid o vous mettrez la config, le volume cible de votre choix dans le pool de votre choix (pfiou) et allez dans “Dossier Partags > Avanc > Restaurer les dossiers partags” et l vous pouvez dplacer les rpertoires… (pas grand monde suivra mais celui qui suit comprendra ;))
– bips, l’allumage, la panne du raid… il faut aller dans l’interface web pour acquitter et supprimer les avertissements sonores, je vais probablement regarder dans le dtail ce que fait cette interface et faire un outil pour supprimer tous bips
– redimensionnements (quels qu’ils soient) qui ne fonctionnent pas, si vous changez la taille, l’interface forcera l’espace maximum disponible…. trs trange, je ne vais pas rentrer dans le dtail mais faites votre configuration cible AVANT d’utiliser le nas au quotidien.
– le linux de base install certes dispose des applications de base (et mme plus ! il y a docker et virtualbox tout de mme !) mais il n’est pas trs configurable et n’a pas de gestionnaire de paquets standard disponibles
Usages avancs :
– Derrire le cache en plastique avec la silhouette d’un port hdmi, sur mon modle il y a effectivement un vrai port hdmi
– Un emplacement est disponible pour une extension mmoire (ddr3 si je ne m’abuse vrifier trs fortement)
– Apparemment, il y a une cl usb branche l’intrieur du boitier bien planque, la retirer permet en combinaison de l’utilisation de l’hdmi et d’un clavier usb d’installer le systme d’exploitation de son choix.
En rsum, on va voir s’il est fiable (il a l’air) et j’en suis trs content.

C’est pratique, tentant de vouloir administrer/utiliser son matriel depuis internet mais je dconseille fortement aux particuliers d’ouvrir des ports sur leur box pour ce botier sans connatre les risques.
Ce matriel permet de faire normment de choses et comme tout matriel complexe peut tre expos des failles de scurit. Certains en ont fait les frais et se sont retrouver miner des cryptomonnaies pour des tiers sur ce mme modle (donc appareil ralenti, risque de se faire voler des donnes etc etc).
Si vous ne savez pas comment scuriser/maintenir ce genre de matriel, n’ouvrez pas de ports sur la box, c’est simple.
Si vous vous enttez le faire, mettez le jour trs rgulirement (vrifier toutes les semaines), surveillez les journaux applicatifs de prs…
This was a very pleasant surprise. Too often these embedded products just utterly fail on the software experience either being too arcane and taking ages to set up right or being too limited where it simply can not do what you need. This is in the sweet middle point – the basics of a NAS are really easy to get working and to get working right. You get your RAID selection and SMART monitoring going, it prompts you to create users that will be able to connect to the NAS over the network and enabling TImeMachine backups was not too hard either. But then you can dive deeper and unlock the true power of this machine:
* you can have a bunch of users and each can have different access rights to different file shares you can have
* install a Plex plugin and you can now stream any video files to your TV or phone
* Install a Google Drive (or any other cloud storage provider) plugin and sync a folder from your NAS with the cloud drive, so you get double the safety and convinient remote access or sharing
* Install qTorrent plugin and … you can share the distribution of your favourite Linux variant 🙂
* And here is the real bomb – install Docker plugin and you can run *any* Docker container on this thing – web servers, databases, mail servers, git servers, your own custom servers, … everything becomes possible.
Just make sure you get NAS quality drives for this. It keeps them alive almost the whole time. Not an issue for NAS drives, but consumer drives can dislike that kind of treatment for years.
Artikel ist mir bei meiner Recherche aufgefallen, gute Hardware zum erschwinglichen Preis und die Mglichkeit, ein alternatives Betriebssystem zu installieren. HDMI-Ausgang fr BOOT-Vorgang etc. vorhanden, vorhandener Speicher kann gnstig aufgerstet werden. Auch ein 4GB Riegel (somit insgesamt 6GB Arbeitsspeicher) wird ohne Murren anerkannt! Nachdem ich mir mein Original-TOS “zerschossen” hatte, habe ich OpenMediaVault installiert (externe SSD mit USB-Adapter). Dieses luft einwandfrei und bietet noch mehr Mglichkeiten als das Orignal-Betriebssystem.
Das Gert ist gut verarbeitet und auch der Einschaltknopf funktioniert einwandfrei.
Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Kauf und kann das Gert ebenfalls weiter empfehlen.

Ya existen varias descripciones sobre el producto, as que no las comentar.
Es mi primera experiencia con un NAS y, pese a haberme informado con el tema, hasta que no te pones a ello, no aprendes.
La instalacin es sencilla. La reinstalacin tambin. Ms complejo ha sido revertir el servidor de Plex porque se destroz, pero al final tambin se soluciono. Lo ir llenando de contenido poco a poco. La indexacin de Plex agot al procesador y no haba manera de funcionar con Plex. El resto funcionaba sin problemas.
En mi caso con discos no NAS, el ruido se produce cuando se escribe sobre el HDD. Sin actividad es inapreciable.
Me ha llamado la atencin la velocidad de escritura. Es muy rpido.

Adepte de Synology depuis longtemps, j’ai craqu pour une vente flash de ce Terramaster 5 baies (ce qui l’a amen moiti prix d’un quivalent QNAP ou Synology), et je ne regrette pas ! Charg pour l’instant avec 3 WD Red de 12TB monts en raid 5, les dbits de 110-120 MB/s en lecture/criture annoncs par le constructeur sont respects. Utilis sur mon rseau local via SMB depuis ma NVIDIA Shield TV pro, aucun problme pour visualiser mes films HD ou 4K. Le logiciel TOS est simple prendre en main, on retrouve toutes les fonctions habituelles d’un NAS. L’application mobile TNAS fait aussi le boulot (basique). Reste voir la fiabilit sur le long terme, mais franchement je suis trs agrablement surpris par ce NAS, recommand pour son rapport qualit-prix imbattable.
Buenos materiales de construccin y buen software.
Llevo aos usando varios nas, de hecho varios porque siempre se me quedaban cortos, tanto en potencia como en capacidad.
Tena claro que el prximo tendras que ser de un mnimo de 4 bahas, tambin tenia claro que eso sera caro ya que al ser de ms bahas ya es ms caro y tambin porque has de llenarlo con discos( al menos tres discos).
Buscando alternativas ms asequibles a las marcas ms conocidas y por tanto ms caras, encontr TERRAMASTER. Segn reviews as como artculos relacionados tuve conocimiento de esta marca que pisaba fuerte ya que tena unos buenos materiales de construccin y diseos sencillos y accesibles. En alguna comparativa se menciona que el software es algo en lo que cojea pero segn mi experiencia NO ES CIERTO. Tiene un software manejable, intuitivo y rpido. Ya sea por su buena cpu o simplemente porque el software es ms simple y directo. Es cierto que algunos sistemas pueden ser ms completos pero en si lo que usamos ms son software pasivos y TOS hace lo necesario para que todo funcione bien. Esos sistemas ms completos a menudo no suelen ser usados y lo que hacen es aadir menos eficiencia al sistema y por tanto a tu experiencia en la interaccin con el acceso a datos del nas.
En definitiva Terramaster con este F5-221 me ha ganado como cliente. Cumple con el bonito, barato y bueno, adems es muy eficiente.
Esperando a que aadan ms apps para smartphones como para escritorio para cerrar el circulo!!
This product is going to be a valuable asset for me to store my data. Although it is easy enough to store many things online, when it comes to storing photos in .raw format of which I do plenty, having a flexible option when I can upgrade the drives as an when and need it.
I have had NAS storage solutions previously, but they have had two drive slots. The issue with this relates to how you ensure that if a drive fails, you can still recover data. When I RAIDED in these Storage solutions, is because very difficult if there was a drive failure. Hopefully, moving forward, this will solve that issue.
My only concern is the drive carriage is plastic. When I saw this, the first thing I thought was “what if this breaks?” but I hope that it wont be an issue.
Fantasic NAS for home & advanced users, I’ve used Docker to install NextCloud which is accessible outside our home network with my domain. This NAS has totally replaced my paid Dropbox subscription at a much more reasonable price than similar solutions.
Delivery was very fast, good packaging. Easy instructions, mounted my 4 HDD from a previous dismissed Nas, initialised and ready to start in less than a hour. The TNAs OS it’s easy to use and intuitive; bit slow with only 2GB of ram, planning to add am SSD on the 5th tray for caching. Until now really happy for the purchase

Although this is my first NAS i’ve read up on them a lot the past few years so purchasing this NAS was sort of a gamble to me as it’s not a well known brand. But I couldn’t be happier. My main usage is just backing up my computer/files locally and it works flawlessly to me. I’ve also been using PLEX to store movies & shows that I can watch remotely and it also works very well.
Honestly so far I don’t see a reason why I would spend more money on a well known NAS just to get equal or even worse performance. I will update this review if I run into any issues with my NAS or find something lacking.
Sono molto soddisfatto, facile installazione guidata i tutti i suoi passi, il sistema operativo TOS, ha una piacevole interfaccia ed molto intuitivo, anche per chi come me non un grande esperto, se si hanno dubbi c’ un buona guida online.
Non scalda e non fa rumore, la ventola sta sempre al minimo, anche avendo fatto prove ad istallare applicazioni (docker) che richiedono risorse al NAS. Per il momento sono estremamente soddisfatto e curioso di studiare le migliori ottimizzazioni che si possono raggiungere grazie a questo strumento non indispensabile, ma di grande aiuto e sicurezza in un ambiente domestico.
Nachdem meine “Thecusse” in die Jahre gekommen sind und einige Apps nicht mehr gepflegt werden musste Ersatz her,das nicht zu teuer,wurde bei Terramaster fndig und entschied mich fr den F5-221,ausgepackt ans Netzwerk angeschlossen und die heruntergeladene Software installiert ,Update eingespielt und eingerichtet.Sogar Linkaggrgation liess sich ohne grossartiges gefummle einrichten.Kopiergeschwindigkeit vom PC zum NAS liegt so bei ca 100MB/s .Bin mehr als zufriede

Realmente til para crear almacenamiento en nube propio, almacenaje y acceso de archivos de todo tipo desde todos los dispositivos del hogar, as como centro multimedia gracias a PLEX.
El sistema operativo es intuitivo y funciona bien.
Velocidad de lecto-escritura fiel a la informacin dada, y estable.
Relacin calidad/precio adecuada.
Totalmente satisfecho con la compra.
L’OS prinstall est perfectible mais il est possible de le remplacer par des alternatives.
J’ai configur le TerraMaster F2 -221 avec pour l’instant un seul disque dur pour NAS Thoshiba N300 de 8 Terra. Le bruit semble surtout venir du disque dur en plein fonctionnement (transferts de fichiers lourds), on l’entend fort “gratter”… Le botier, bien qu’il soit trs rigide (il est en aluminium, un trs bon point), amplifie ce phnomne. Cela n’est pas particulirement gnant pour mon propre usage (le NAS tant plac dans l’entre de mon logement). Mais si vous dsirez le placer dans une chambre, le salon, ou une pice o vous dsirez du silence, je dconseille fortement de le faire. Il faut bien avoir en tte, que mme si le NAS “n’est pas utilis”, son systme d’exploitation fonctionne quant lui 24h/24h ! C’est d’ailleurs pour a qu’il est fait ! Vrifier l’intgrit et la prennit des donnes. Le disque dur va donc continuer faire du bruit pour diverses raisons…
Je regrette aussi que le fabricant ait opt pour des tiroirs pour disques durs en plastique, certes rigide, mais d’autres marques font l’effort de mettre galement de l’aluminium ou du mtal. C’est d’autant plus incomprhensible tant la qualit extrieure perue est de haut niveau.
Ceci est peut-tre en rapport avec le prix trs accessible de ce NAS qui a des performances trs honorables ! Il est redoutable d’efficacit et de simplicit ! Son interface est trs facile grer et comprendre, l’on installe que les apps et services dont on a besoin, pas de fouillis incomprhensible, on est en confiance et on est assist ds le dpart si on a jamais configur/utilis de NAS…
Autre point remarquable, il possde une double carte rseau et un port USB-C ! C’est rare ce prix !
Voil pourquoi je ne suis pas trop svre au niveau de la note: j’enlve une demi toile pour le bruit, et une autre demi toile pour l’usage de plastique dur pour les 2 tiroirs. C’est donc un bon 4 toiles !
We use 2 x Toshiba N300 4TB ‘NAS’ drives and they are notoriously noisy — however, the casing does a good job of deadening the sound. The fan is also very quiet. Indeed, our previous Zyxel NAS326 made much more of a racket! Physical installation is very straightforward. However, I did opt for an additional 2GB of device memory and installing that was tricky — I have reviewed that separately. It’s also rather expensive.
The installation of the software and initial device set up is less fun. Oddly, one needs to install a PC Windows APP (TNAS) and then use it to load the NAS’s TOS operating system. All rather tedious. The NAS is then setup using the TOS desktop. That is rather clunky but, once mastered, easy enough. I set up the 2 x 4TB Toshiba drives in a RAID-1 (4TB) configuration. We use both of the gigabit LAN ports (to 2 different switches). This gives quicker data transfers, network redundancy and allows us to back up the device to a separate NAS on our network (and vice versa). Setting up and scheduling the Antivirus App was straightforward. Surprisingly, we did find setting up shared drives on all of our PCs to be a tad tricky. We use the Android TNAS APP on our mobiles (home and away) and that’s fine.
The installation guides themselves are less than intuitive but we got there without having to disturb the slumbers of Terra-Master support agents!
Fortunately, set up is a ‘one-off’ event. Once that’s done, the NAS works very well and we normally see local network data transfers of 120+MB/s. The “Multimedia Server” App on the NAS is appreciated by the kids and is a doddle to configure. We also access the music on the NAS using Amazon Alexa (using the ‘OurJukebox’ skill). It works very well. Indeed, I am rather impressed.
The device is very reasonably priced (apart from the extortionate memory upgrade). Now time will tell if we made the right choice but, in the meantime, I am quite chuffed.

2 x 2 je 4 tb Festplatten zum Raid 1 erstellt und 1 3 tb Festplatte luft solo.
Bin zufrieden soweit.
Hatte das Gert als reinen Datenspeicher angedacht. Eigentlich auch ein solides Gert, dass die Netzwerkschnittstellen bestmglich auslastet. An der Transferraten gibt es nichts zu meckern.
In Kombination mit WD80EZAZ wird es aber unangenehm, denn der ganze Schreibtisch schwingt gut fhlbar mit. Geht fr mich gar nicht. Das Schwingen lassen kann im brigen das Synology DS220J noch etwas besser. Selbst ein betagtes Zyxel NSA325v2 oder NAS326 entkoppeln diese Festplatten besser. Am Ende ist es aber ein Synology DS218+ geworden. Da klappt die Entkopplung auch deutlich besser.
Es fcil de instalar y permite crear fcilmente una red domstica.
Donde lo coloque hacia bastante ruido pero lo solucion colocando una base de goma tipo alfombrilla.

And this little machine provided that..Attaching the Hard drives very easy, Setting up the server straight forward.. My main purpose was to use Plex and Emby easy as pie just install the apps sign-in happy days..I even upgraded the memory not difficult at all..I Have to say I’m very happy with the system and highly recommend.. Faultless good job Terra Master!!
Fantastico Nas dall’aspetto ben curato: il case di alluminio ben rifinito e l’accesso ai drive estremamante semplice. La configurazione durata pochi minutil. L’ho collegato alla rete ed stato immediatamente visto da tutte le periferiche incluso un vecchio smart tv samsung. L’applicazione TOS intuitiva e ben fatta.
Really good easy to use Nas, I use it to run bit torrent along with multiple dockers. Streams 4k no problem over a lan network. Set up was easy. It’s slightly noisy but that’s because of the mixture of harddrives I have in it.

As a Linux user, I was rather disappointed initially by the fact that TNAS PC client software was available for only Mac and Windows platforms. But it soon became obvious that I could log in by a browser using the IP address of the NAS. But it would be nice if a Linux version was also available. I was pleasantly surprised by the plethora of APPs available, and installing those I wanted went without a hitch. Most users will find their needs covered. Configuring it as a remote server was surprisingly easy. You just give it a name and, presto, it’s done! Remote access speed is reasonable, but is limited not by the NAS but by the upload speed of your broadband. Unfortunately, fibre-to-fibre broadband is still not available to most users outside city centres in the UK (sigh).
I’ve read reviews of slow copying speeds to the NAS, which is puzzling, because I have not encountered the problem. With mine connected to my PC through a TP-LINK gigabit switch, copying is almost as fast as to my local drives. I have been transferring my ripped CD collection to it, and no complaints. Make sure your switch is up to it if you use one. As a DLNA server, the F2-221 works a dream with my smart TV which managed to pick out and sort the different types of media. Since Flickr started to monetise its services (how many more cloud will remain free?), I have been uneasy with saving things to such services. Google has been deleting stuff which you don’t use too often. And what would happen to your files if you defaulted in paying up? You are effectively chained to them. For a modest outlay, I’d rather be in full control of my data. And if you’re thinking the same, you should get one of this too.
Since this will sit on my desk I was a little concerned that I’d have a noisy and intrusive device disrupting my concentration. You can see however that compared to the size of a box of matches that it is very compact. And importantly for me, it is almost silent even when it is fully active.
It was also comparatively easy to set up even for me — and I’m no IT expert. It’s been running for about a month now and we’ve had no problems whatsoever. We use it for transferring video files but it can also be helpful as an extra drive for holding archived material.

Come gi scritto anche per me bisogna migliorare il file manager interno ma si spostano tranquillamente i file direttamente in rete e la velocit trasferimento dati varia da 60 / 100 Mb/s anche se sulle caratteristiche da 200 in lettura e 190 in scrittura
In conclusione lo consiglio ne sono rimasto entusiasta anche per il buon rapporto qualit prezzo

Purchased the F5-221 for the 5 bays that it provides as this will allow me to add additional drives at a later date. Installed two Toshiba N300 8TB drives configured as RAID 1 and found it a breeze to install the Plex app on it, along with an external hard drive via USB while transferring my existing media collection over. No issues with the CPU or memory usage while simultaneously streaming 2 different films to TVs on my home network. As another reviewer pointed out, you can hear the disks when they are in use but I don’t consider it excessive and I’ve yet to move the NAS to a more permanent location inside the house where I’ll hear it less. It has a good range of other apps available e.g. Apache Tomcat, Docker, Go and I’m tempted to purchase a smaller Terramaster NAS at some point for another home project.

As a small business owner who was looking to ensure I had a resilient NAS configuration (RAID1) with an easy install, easy setup and easy backup utility for all my business digital assets the TerraMaster F5-221 has been brilliant (see my digital image). The TerraMaster F5-221 sits easily next to my Laptop, makes almost no noise at all. Quiet device packed with functionality.
I have 5 bays in case my business NAS storage needs grows, currently 2 x 4TBs. The TerraMaster applications for managing my NAS have enable me to achieve the business objectives and there are applications which I have not yet used but will certainly use as my business develops.
Does the TerraMaster F5-221 provide great value for the money spent? Yes. My score is 5 out of 5.
I bought this box to store my considerable music collection on. I was getting fed up with keeping multiple backup copies of music on an ever growing number of external disks.
Setting up the F5-221 was a breeze. I populated it with 3 x 4TB Seagate Iron wolf drives. Set up a raid 5 array configuration giving me around 8Tb for my music. I also have two bays free for other stuff. Copying over my music took some time. I didn’t use the web based interface at all. Just mapped the box as an external drive to my computer and copied my files over directly. A minor niggle was that the CPU maxed out a few times during the copying process. A multi threaded processor might cure that. But as I said it was only a minor niggle as I don’t copy massive file very often. Buying this NAS boxt has set my mind at rest. With the raid 5 If a drive fails it’s a simple matter to hot swap another drive. The system will then rebuild itself with no loss of data.
I’ve been thinking about a NAS box for some time and eventually plunged in and got one. I even got a hefty discount from Amazon. Best thing I’ve bought since I got my first Amstrad in the 80s. Anybody thinking about getting a NAS box, go for it. I’m happy with my Terramaster F5-221.
Ottimo NAS, appena acceso riconosciuto sia da Mac che da Windows, la configurazione abbastanza semplice, basta seguire la guida fornita.
Per quanto riguarda la capacit ho installato 2 hdd ironwolf da 4tb in RAID1 e posso ritenermi soddisfatto, ho anche aumentato la ram a 4gb senza alcun problema, in quanto a consumi e rumorosit non posso lamentarmi. Ottimo come NAS casalingo.
Unica “pecca” ancora non ho avuto tempo di collegarlo all’UPS della vultech (provato e mi dava problemi da investigare)
Ottimo Nas domestico. Ho installato 2 dischi da 2 T che soddisfano le mie esigenze. Sono molto soddisfatto come server multimediale casalingo, in LAN funziona a meraviglia. Da remoto ho difficolt ad aprire i file con l’app TNAS (vanno prima scaricati) mentre con PLEX si vedono alla perfezione. Ottimo x avere un HD disponibile da remoto. Altre prove Nn ne ho fatte perch tutto scritto in inglese, forse l’unico lato negativo ma se si ha dimestichezza con i Nas un ottimo prodotto.
Despus de unos meses de uso, tengo que decir que este NAS me ha resultado mejor de lo que esperaba. No es solo un almacn de tus documentos digitales, al estilo de un disco duro externo, sino que te permite acceder a el de manera remota desde cualquier sitio o dispositivo.
Nada de ruido, muy configurable y fcil de intercambiar discos, incluso en caliente.
No le he puesto las cinco estrellas porque dentro de todas las aplicaciones que puedes descargarte para el, hay muy pocas para el usuario domstico y poqusimas en espaol.

A la hora de elegir cambiar mi WD Cloud Home a un NAS mas potente, opte por comprar el Terra Master F2-221. Al final el uso que le doy es mas bien el poder usar PLEX con total libertad y con excelente calidad. Ha estado funcionando de manera increible, con una velocidad que pareceria corro la pelicula directamente desde un disco; la calidad 4K es real.
Si bien es cierto que es mucho mas practico la manera que WD se integra con el ordenador, el sistema operativo de Terra Master tiene muchas mas opciones y mas libertad para configurar las aplicaciones que nos provee.
Muy contento con la compra!
La disponibilit di Emby (da prendere con subscription per sfruttare l’accelerazione hw del NAS) un eccellente plus, ma gi il TOS (Terrramaster OS) facile da usare e molto potente. Manca solo un client emule, per il resto la dotazione di sw installabile molto ricca. Per amule si pu ovviare installando un’immagine docker (nel docker integrato, davvero una feature eccellente !!!!).

What I like about the product is that although it has a limited feature set (yet excellent value hardware specification) it does an excellent job and is stable and relatively intuitive. What I would like to see is some of the more advance features that their rivals do well, however, I believe this would increase the cost in the device.
The case does feel cheap when docking the hard disks or connecting cables – but as the device sits out of sight there is not much to be concerned about.
The only negative I have is that the user documentation is not that great for novice users and they would struggle getting this device up and running.
Overall? Fantastic product and well worth the purchase. I am to purchase another for remote site backup (my mothers house on the south coast of England 🙂 ) at some point.
Super easy to set up. Installed 4 x tosh n300 6tb running raid 10 to use as a server. Not worked out what to do with the 5th slot!. Plex works well. I have a separate dedicated 8tb backup drive as using raid in this is not technically a back up solution. .certain raid configs give you some redundancy. I am just being over cautios i gues as i nearly lost a lifetime of photos.

May not be as refind as some, but it is a very well made item and does the job well. Easy to set up although I did need some assistance from Terra techies to clarify rather than setup itself. This was only via email, but they did get back to me quickly. Fan is a bit noisy at times and I did expand the memory. Over all a good product.
I’ve had this product running 24/7 for a few months now and it’s been fantastic. I use it as a music server with Plex, a video and photo server and as a game server. It can run a game and stream music to multiple devices at the same time without breaking a sweat.
It is a little on the noisy side which whilst it isn’t an issue for me as I have a dedicated network cupboard it could be if it was placed in an occupied room.
It isn’t the easiest to set up but there’s plenty of help online. I have it loaded with two 3TB Western Digital red drives and it’s configured in RAID 1
Overall I’d definitely recommend this NAS box.

Das Gert ist fr den Preis perfekt, es ist zu hren aber nun… Die Installation ist jetzt sicher nicht ganz trivial, aber so eine NAS kauft man sich nicht als Anfnger.
Trs simple installer avec 3 disques 12To pour commencer en Raid5 ajout d une RAM 8go phs il existe un tuto pour pouvoir monter la RAM et le site terramaster est bien fait. Impressionnant d’intgration. Marche super bien avec Time Machine.

Tras devolver la unidad adquirida (como siempre sin problemas, bien por Amazon), el servicio Tcnico de Terramaster insisti en enviarme otra unidad para que intentara reproducir las incidencias encontradas con la primera. Tras hacer pruebas exhaustivas con ella, la conclusin es que esa segunda unidad s funciona como se esperaba. Cero problemas, instalacin rpida y sin interrupciones, funcionamiento estable sin perder en ningn momento la conexin con el NAS.
Dejo mis comentarios anteriores por si alguien se encuentra los mismos problemas y pueden servirle de ayuda, pero repito, son debidos a una unidad defectuosa, NO DEBEN SER CONSIDERADOS PROBLEMAS GENERALES DE ESTE PRODUCTO.

VALORACIN INICIAL
En esto de la electrnica, hay veces en que uno se encuentra sorpresas. Pero para m este producto ha sido la mayor sorpresa (desagradable) de los ltimos aos.
Lo compr porque prcticamente todas las crticas aqu y en Internet son muy buenas. Adems, es cierto que el hardware es de lo mejor y ms teniendo en cuenta el precio. Pero mi impresin es que el software que mueve ese hardware est en un estado muy precario, al menos en lo que respecta a la compatibilidad y gestin de los discos duros.
Mi calvario empez hace unos das, cuando desempaquet el NAS y empec a instalarlo. Por cierto, todo lo que aparece en las pruebas y anlisis es verdad, viene muy bien empaquetado y con todo lo necesario, y es fcil de seguir las instrucciones para ponerlo en marcha (a pesar de que no se incluye manual en papel; todo est en la web de TerraMaster).
Para ver si todo iba correctamente, us dos discos duros que tena por casa, un WD de 2,5″ y 1TB y un Seagate de 3,5″ y 500GB. Con ninguno de los dos pude terminar la instalacin (al instalar el o los discos duros, el sistema operativo del NAS, llamado TOS, debe ser instalado en los HDD para la siguiente vez arrancar desde ah).
La instalacin se par en diferentes momentos, 60%, 90% con un mensaje del tipo “se ha producido un error, reinicie el NAS y vuelva a intentarlo”. Ninguna otra indicacin con ms detalle de lo que podra pasar.
Tras intentar esto infinitas veces, se me ocurri inicializar uno de los discos escribiendo ceros en el mismo y creando de nuevo la tabla de particiones (en este caso GPT) para intentar que el disco quedara igual que cuando sali de fbrica (dado que hay una indicacin en el manual de instalacin sobre que los discos usados en otros equipos pueden dar problemas. En este caso, s consegu terminar la instalacin (y la verdad es que fue rpida, aunque con un reinicio entre medias tras un error, pero al reiniciar el proceso continu bien).
Pens que haba solucionado mis problemas, pero nada ms lejos de la realidad. Ya con TOS instalado en el HDD, el NAS arrancaba correctamente, pero a los 5-10 min dejaba de responder a ping, el programa existente para acceder al NAS (TNAS PC) dejaba de encontrarlo y la homepage era inaccesible. Es ms, no haba ms forma de apagar el NAS que a la fuerza (presionando durante ms de 4 segundos el botn de encendido).
He vuelto a inicializar ambos HDD (proceso completo, unas 2-3 horas), repetir la instalacin, etc., sin xito (no he llegado ni a terminar la instalacin, a pesar de preparar los discos igual que la vez que s pude instalar el sistema). O tienes el NAS sin discos o con discos (igual uno que otro que los dos) termina quedndose colgado, normalmente antes de terminar la instalacin.
En resumen, tengo un bonito pisapapeles de 200 y pico euros en casa, al que le voy a dar una ltima oportunidad (acabo de enviar un email a Soporte de TerraMaster a ver qu me dicen). Si no me proporcionan una solucin adecuada, el artculo ir de vuelta a Amazon, sintindolo en el alma porque la verdad es que prometa y adems me queda la duda de qu tengo yo de especial si a todo el mundo le funciona tan bien.
Anexo a continuacin la transcripcin del email enviado a TerraMaster, donde hay algo ms de detalle sobre las pruebas que he ido haciendo, por si a alguien puede ayudarle.

EDITO TRAS HABLAR CON EL SERVICIO TCNICO
Segn Postventa de Terramaster, mis dos discos duros estn defectuosos (curioso, porque los he estado usando sin problemas, uno en un PC y otro como unidad externa, los mltiples formateos de alto y bajo nivel que he hecho estos das y los sanity check no han dado error en ningn momento; incluso en la instalacin de TOS se marcan como Good).
Soporte Tcnico me ha proporcionado una respuesta algo menos “estndar”. Segn ellos, HDD diferentes a los WD Red o Seagate IronWolf (y resto de la lista de recomendados) pueden presentar problemas de velocidad (?). En cualquier caso, ayer compr un Seagate IronWolf 2TB para ver si por fin solucionaba el problema.
He de decir que la instalacin ha ido bastante mejor que con mis anteriores HDD’s (aunque he tenido que reiniciar con botonazo), pero 5 minutos despus de arrancar con la nueva instalacin, el sistema se ha colgado de nuevo.
Conclusin: otro poco dinero gastado para nada, y por supuesto el problema no es de los discos duros (vamos, si los tres estn mal me hago monje de clausura).
Ya estoy tramitando la devolucin de este dispositivo. No tengo ms remedio que RECOMENDAR ENCARECIDAMENTE NO COMPRARLO, AL MENOS ESTE MODELO.

ULTIMA ACTUALIZACIN DEL COMENTARIO
El servicio tcnico me ha ofrecido conectarse a mi PC por TeamViewer para intentar dar con el problema.
Al menos se molestan en intentar ayudar pero he declinado la oferta dado que no tengo mucho tiempo y adems no me pagan para depurar sus productos.
Les he proporcionado el nmero de serie de la unidad, con lo que entiendo que pueden contactar con Amazon para recuperarla y analizar el tema en sus instalaciones, si as lo desean.

This item is shipped without HDD’s, as you probably know.
Once received, I tried to setup the system using a pair of HDD’s I had at home, concretely:
– Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 SATA3 500 GB (ST3500418AS), Firmware CC38
– WD Blue 5.400RPM SATA3 1TB (WD10JPCX), Firmware 01.01A01
First, I used only the Seagate unit. With this HDD installed in the slot 1, I switch on the system but TNAS PC couldn’t find the NAS. Ok, HDD out of the NAS and switch on again. Then, the NAS was found without any problem, so I installed the HDD (hot swap) and started the installation through the homepage. However, the installation failed at 60%. I tried this process many times, getting similar errors at different % of the process, mainly at 60% and 90%.
After this, I changed the HDD, repeating the attempts with the WD. But results were similar to those got before.
Third idea was to initialize the HDD before installing in the NAS, using WD Data LifeGuard Diagnostics. So, I wrote 0’s in the beginning and end of the HDD, and then initialized the unit using the disk manager in Windows 10 (GPT partition type). Once the HDD was ready again, new try similar to the ones I had done before, but this time I was able to install TOS 4.1.18 (online install; I had tried before online and offline installations). Good!!!
Once TOS was installed, I initiated the NAS and accessed it with admin user. Everything seemed to work properly, but suddenly, the NAS stop responding. The homepage froze, ping to the assigned IP provided by DHCP failed and there was no way to get it working again. Lights in the unit are on (network one blinking, indeed, but connection is totally lost).
I’ve not been able to get the NAS working during properly during more than 5 minutes. After lots of testing and tries, I’ve concluded these facts:
– NAS works properly if no HDD’s are installed:
– It initiates and in a while, it is visible for TOS PC, and homepage can be opened
– NAS can be switched off by pressing briefly the power button
– Switching on with an HDD installed
– NAS initiates but it is not visible for TOS PC and homepage is not accesible
– NAS CANNOT be switched off by pressing briefly the power button; it is neccessary to pressing it for more than 4 seconds or so
– Switching on without HDD installed and then push the HDD into the unit (hot swap)
– It initiates and in a while, it is visible for TOS PC, and homepage can be opened
– I can log in and start managing, configuring, etc., the NAS
– After 5 minutes or so, connection is lost, what means no NAS is detected by TOS PC neither homepage is available
– At this point the only option is switch off the NAS by long pressing of the power button (removing the HDD doesn’t give back responsiveness to the system)
Today, I’ve been initializing both HDD’s again (complete writing with 0’s this time in both units). But it’s been impossible for me to finish TOS installation again.

Es muy estable en velocidad de transferencia de datos, no he tenido ningn corte.
El HDMI que incluye no es para usarlo como reproductor, solo es un monitor de la interfaz.
Lo he puesto como servidor PLEX y estoy encantado.
NAS Terramaster F5-221. Lo uso para almacenar de todo: videos, msica, fotos, documentos… junto a 2 discos WD Red 4TB, en RAID 1.

Acabado metlico, muy bien rematado. Es realmente compacto para alojar 5 discos duros.
Es muy silencioso, pensaba que sonara ms. Me falta probarlo a transcodificar 4k, que puede ser lo ms exigente que haga. Pero por ahora, no se oye gran cosa.
Muy fcil de poner en marcha, en 15 miuntos mximo lo tienes configurado. En mi caso, una configuracin RAID 1, con dos discos de 4Tb.
La conexin por VPN funciona muy bien, tanto desde la app como desde el cliente de escritorio.

El sistema operativo (TOS) es bastante espartano, un poco lioso de manejar al principio.

COMPRA RECOMENDADA. Me encanta este NAS. Vale la mitad que su homolog de marcas ms prestigiosas, como Synology o QNAP. El nico punto flaco, su sistema operativo. Aun as, su funcionamiento es perfecto, ha cumplido las expectativas por ahora.
Tras leer las crticas negativas sobre la facilidad de uso, aplicaciones, etc., me he llevado una agradable sorpresa, teniendo en cuenta que soy un novato y es mi primer NAS: No he tenido ningn problema ni en la instalacin ni en el funcionamiento. De hecho ya puedo distribuir mis videos de viajes y fotos a mis familiares y amigos. Una pega, por ignorancia, que tuve, fue resuelta al da siguiente, por el Equipo de Soporte de Terramaster, muy amables, claros y concisos. Tambin desde Amazn me respondieron a esa duda. De momento, estoy muy satisfecho. Las aplicaciones de TOS que he utilizado, hasta ahora, sin ningn problema. Tanto TOS como la aplicacin TNAS en Androide son muy intuitivas.
I’ve just purchased an F5-221 to replace my ageing QNAP NAS because it no longer gets PLEX updates and therefore cannot provide the service I require.
I had an issue with the new F5-221 just purchased. I logged onto this machine and File Manager did not respond.
I was using the default Internet Explorer V11.
I contacted Terramaster support via email and they responded in 13 hours (Time zones factor I guess). They requested certain information, which I supplied, and they recommended that I use Google Chrome or FireFox. I used Google Chrome and that worked successfully. I simply never thought that the browser might be the problem. DOH!
Anyway, I am VERY satisfied with the response and help that Terramaster Support provided and I recommend them.
Ich hatte vor knapp 2 Jahren den Vorgnger (F2-220) und lange berlegt, ob ich mir das Gert hier hole. Warum ich da etwas berlegt habe, liegt daran, dass man damals die Lfter mit einem alternativen System nicht steuern konnte, einen VGA Adapter bentigte und die HDD LED’s immer rot leuchten.
Aktuell sieht es so aus, dass man ein HDMI Anschluss vorhanden ist und man auch die Lfter via fancontrol steuern kann. Leider gibt es immer noch keine Mglichkeit die HDD LED’s anzupassen.
Wer kein alternatives System verwenden mchte, der ist mit dem TOS bestimmt gut bedient. Der erste Eindruck war sehr flssig.
Ich wrde das Gert immer wieder weiterempfehlen, aufgrund der Tatsache, dass man ein alternatives OS verwenden kann.
So verwende ich das Gert mit Openmediavault und das Gert macht das, was es soll.
Sehr gute Cloud. Einfache Einrichtung, praktische Android-App, einfache Freigabe von Ordnern fr viele Benutzer, flotte Geschwindigkeiten, sehr gut als Downloadstation geeignet, zur Video-Konvertierung (x264 1080p in x265 1080p) aber leider ungeeignet (ca. 1fps), was am Prozessor liegt (dieses Feature ist natrlich keine Kernfunktion der Cloud), Plex Media Player luft SUPER!
Wer Docker-Container oder andere aufwndigere Funktionen nutzen will sollte den RAM upgraden (8GB kosten ca. 40 Euro, dann hat man 12Gb; der Einbau ist etwas fummelig).
I love this nas drive. The interface is nice and slick and easy to navigate. The system is quick and handles everything I throw at it. I had slight issue with app store after an upgrade and tech support were just amazing. They have kept me informed throughout the fix. Terramaster are the best don’t pay more for no gain.

Das Terra-Master OS sieht gut aus und bietet die Basisfunktionalitt (auch iSCSI) an, aber ich wollte mehr – mir fehlten Virtualisierung und Nextcloud 🙂
Drauf lassen sich sowohl FreeNAS, als auch OpenMediaVault installieren (auf ein USB Laufwerk, das man an den internen USB Port anschliet). Auf FreeNAS habe ich schnell verzichtet, da die F2-221 keinen ECC-Speicher hat. OpenMediaVault funktioniert soweit einwandfrei (die HDD LEDs leuchten aber konstant rot).
Laut Intels Spezifikationen untersttzt die J3355 CPU nur bis 8GB RAM. Die 2 GB sind auf dem Mainboard verltet und es gibt nur einen Speichersteckplatz (SO-DIMM). Theoretisch knnte man also nur 4GB (keine 6GB Module) reinstecken, aber mit 8 GB hat es auch funktioniert – das Betriebssystem sieht ca. 9GB Speicher.
P.S. Als ich die Schreib- und Lesegeschwindigkeiten gemessen habe, war eine SSD im NAS.

update 13.8.2019: hersteller hat sich einige tage spter gemeldet und kostenlos eine neues gert zum testen geschickt (geschenkt), obwohl ich beim ersten das geld erstattet bekommen habe. beeindruckend!
In fase di installazione ho incontrato uno scoglio non indifferente: il programma di configurazione iniziale non riusciva ad individuare il NAS! Il problema dipendeva dalla configurazione di rete del mio computer, configurato con degli switch virtuali di Hyper-V che non lasciavano passare i pacchetti necessari per il funzionamento del software di configurazione. Utilizzato un altro computer con una connessione ethernet “diretta” non ci sono stati problemi.
Il software TOS, che viene installato in fase di configurazione iniziale sui dischi rigidi installati nei due bay, da accesso a tantissime funzionalit di condivisione, sebbene le uniche che utilizzi siano SMB/CIFS e iSCSI, oltre che DLNA per la condivisione dei media.
Architetturalmente, TOS un sistema operativo basato su Linux la cui interfaccia principale un’applicazione web scritta in PHP con un frontend javascript molto ben curato. I sorgenti dovrebbero essere disponibili online.
Il file system utilizzato per i dischi interni Btrfs, di cui non sono un particolare fan (gli preferisco sicuramente ZFS), ma capisco e giustifico al 100% la decisione di utilizzare tale fs.
La velocit di trasferimento file con una singola porta ottima. Data la topologia della mia rete non ho effettuato prove di bonding delle due interfacce, avendo comunque un uplink ad un singolo Gbps dallo switch cui collegato il NAS verso il resto della rete.
Silenziosissimo, la ventola posteriore regola automaticamente la velocit in base alle temperature. Al minimo veramente inudibile (non tenendo conto del rumore dei dischi ovviamente).
possibile installare una serie di pacchetti per estendere le funzionalit del sistema operativo, quali Git, database come MariaDB, supporto a linguaggi di programmazione quali Ruby o Python o interi applicativi open source.
Presente il supporto a PLEX, sebbene non lo utilizzi: preferisco il minimalismo e l’autonomia consentitami dal protocollo DLNA.
Una nota per i pi tecnici: l’unit da 2GB dispone di uno slot per SODIMM (ma devo ancora appurare se DDR3L o DDR4) per cui dovrebbe essere possibile portare la RAM a 4GB senza particolari problemi.
Inoltre, l’avvio iniziale precedente l’installazione del sistema operativo avviene da una chiavetta USB, collegata internamente ad un comunissimo connettore USB A, sulla quale presente un GRUB 2: si tratta pur sempre di un computer x64 basato su UEFI.
Tutto ci apre le porte a scenari potenzialmente molto interessanti, nel caso si voglia sperimentare…
Ovviamente, avere solo due bay implica poter usare solo met del totale dello spazio di archiviazione installato una volta configurato il mirroring, pertanto nel caso servano maggiori capacit di archiviazione (oltre 4/6 TB) sar conveniente puntare sui modelli con 5 bay.
In conclusione, lo raccomando sicuramente soprattutto ad utenti di fascia intermedia… e anche qualcosina in pi.
Valuter sicuramente TerraMaster per acquisti futuri.

Overall Terramaster have created a very versatile and powerful home NAS. As they have updated their OS (from TOS 3 to TOS 4) I think it’s become even better!
I have been very happy with my F4-220 (purchased in April 2018) and as I wanted something a bit more powerful, I ended up getting the F4-421 and I haven’t looked back.
This device has the same specs as a Synology ds918+ but for a fraction of the price, it’s definitely worth considering if you’re in the market for a new NAS.
Im Gegensatz zu den Vorgngermodellen verfgt die aktuelle Generation (zu erkennen an einer 1 am Ende der Modelnummer, bspw. F4-421, F2-221, …) ber einen HDMI-Anschluss. Auf den Bildern des Herstellers ist der HDMI-Anschluss nicht abgebildet, das Gert verfgt aber ber einen. Damit kann man einfach einen Monitor anschlieen und beispielsweise in das BIOS/EFI gelangen oder eben ein anderes Betriebssystem installieren.
Verpackung
Die Verpackung ist nicht versiegelt, allerdings ist das Gert selbst nocheinmal in einer Plastikfolie mit einem TerraMaster-Siegel verschlossen.
Lieferumfang
Im Lieferumfang ist…
– das NAS selbst,
– eine Vielzahl an Schrauben zur Montage von HDDs und SSDs,
– ein Schraubendreher, der auch fr die Gehuseschrauben passt,
– Ersatzfe fr das Gehuse,
– ein Netzwerkkabel (Cat6, UTP),
– ein Netzteil mit EU- und UK-Netzstecker,
– Bedienungsanleitung und Garantiekarte,
– Set auf Aufklebern/Labels zur Beschriftung der Laufwerksschchte
Verarbeitung
Das Gert ist sehr gut verarbeitet, das Gehuse ist aus solidem Metall. Auch der auf den Bildern eher wackelig aussehende Einschaltknopf macht einen hochwertigen Eindruck. Die Laufwerkseinschbe sind allerdings aus Kunststoff. Ein Intel-Aufkleber, wie auf den Herstellerfotos, ist nicht auf dem Gehuse vorhanden. Der Werbeaufkleber an der Front lsst sich einfach abziehen.
Stromverbrauch
Der Stromverbrauch liegt bei etwas 11 Watt im Idle (ohne Festplatten) und zwischen 1 und 2 Watt im Standby.
Die CPU-Khlung erfolgt passiv, es ist aber auf dem Mainboard ein PWM-PIN-Header fr einen CPU-Lfter vorhanden, den man noch verbauen knnte (bspw. durch Austausch des Khlkrpers). Die CPU-Temperatur bewegt sich nach lngerer Laufzeit zwischen 45C und 55C. Die beiden oberen Netzwerkschnittstellen sind direkt mit dem Mainboard verbunden, die beiden unteren sind intern ber USB verdrahtet, schaffen aber auch 1 Gbit/s.
Das vorinstallierte Betriebssystem TOS habe ich nicht getestet. Es ist aber einfach auf einem USB-Stick installiert, der sich problemlos entfernen lsst. Der USB-Stick ist auch nicht wie bei den Vorgngermodellen verklebt. Das Gert kann auch von externen USB-Sticks booten, das Gehuse muss also nicht zwingend geffnet werden. Im brigen kann das Gert auch von den Festplatten booten. Die beiden internen USB-Anschlsse arbeiten mit USB 2.0, wohingegen die beiden Externen mit USB 3.1 mit bis zu 5 GBit/s betrieben werden knnen.
Auf dem Mainboard sind bereits 4 GB Arbeitsspeicher verltet. Der Arbeitsspeicher lsst sich durch ein 4 GB DDR3 Modul auf insgesammt 8 GB erweitern. Die Spezifikation des Herstellers gibt zwar eine maximale Speichergre von 12 GB (4 GB + 8 GB) an, allerdings kann die Plattform nicht mehr als 8 GB Arbeitsspeicher verwalten (siehe Spezifikation von Intel).
Ich habe mich hinsichtlich des Betriebssystems fr OpenMediaVault entschieden, was hervorragend und performant auf dem Gert arbeitet. Lediglich die HDD-LEDs am Front-Panel sind permanent rot, dies sollte sich jedoch durch ein wenig Konfiguration noch anpassen lassen.
Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Kauf und kann das Gert nur weiteremfehlen, insbesondere wenn man alternative Betriebssysteme wie FreeNAS oder OpenMedieVault verwenden mchte.
Die Software bietet zwar auch Docker an, jedoch ist die Verfgbarkeit von Anwendungen doch stark begrenzt. Das Beitriebssystem (TOS) bietet sehr wenig Einstellungmglichkeit. Rsync konnte ich ber die Weboberflche nicht zum Einsatz bringen. Auch die Anleitungen seitens des Herstellers sind hier sehr dftig. Es gibt im Internet aber dieverse Artikel, wie man auf dieser NAS ein anderes Betriebsystem instllieren kann.
Wie gesagt, die Hardware ist sehr gut aber Aufgrund der geringen Einstellungsmglichkeiten, geringer Informationen und da meine Anfrage nach einer Rechnung schlichtweg ignoriert wurde, nur drei Sterne.
Nachtrag am 27.05.2019:
Der Verkufer hat mir dann doch eine Rechnung und zustzlich eine detailierte Beschreibung speziell fr das rsync zukommen lassen. Daher 4 Sterne und nur ein Stern abzug fr das noch geringe kosystem bei den Apps.

TOS is easy to install, instructions were clear and easy to follow, I locked myself out of the OS as I forgot the password, support were very helpful in getting me in, quick response and called me back during their support hours which was very good, don’t be put off the other review, in my opinion this is a great device, I have been in IT for a few years and for the price I paid I am very glad I purchased the F2-221.
You can install containers using Docker and I have it set up to use NZBGET and this can connect to Newsgroups to use NZB files to get my media straight onto the NAS, no computer required, this is a great media server and works great with the Plex or Media app from Terramaster, stream straight to my Samsung TV with no encoding required, in full 4k with Atmos sound!!! It also has an iTunes server should you need it and you can use dual LAN connections also if needed to increase speed.
There is a cloud and remote access option which I have not used, but it looks pretty simple.
All in all I would recommend this and would have purchased the 5 bay version if I had the money 🙂
