I'll be buying this bark product agai
Purchased for mixing into the soil of my tub grown Fig tree. It definitely works for controlling the moisture and preventing unwanted weeds. I’ve also used it as a mulch around my Japanese Maples, which are also benefitting from the moisture and weed control. Impressive stuff that goes a long way.

Mainly bark hardly any perlite.
Received this the other day and was disappointed that there was hardly any perlite in the mix, I had to add some more. I wish I had take a picture to show this.
good value
I had made the mistake of first ordering soil compost which seemed to encourage loads of midges. I realised my error and this bark arrived very promptly – allowing me to save my orchids . Thank you
A little too chunky
Decent, but a little too chunky – some pieces are as big as 5-7cm and really hard to break up! Other than that great.
Believe it or not, there are calculators for bark weight by volume. According to these the bag I received is under weight. Given that perlite weighs somewhere on the candy floss scale, then 5 litres (what I purchased) should weigh 1.2 kilograms. This comes in at 910 grams including the bag. That’s equivalent to a shortfall of a quarter of of a pound in old money. Even with perlite, it should still be about the same or at least 1.1 kilograms. Don’t know what to do about it. It is a good bark product all the same.
Great, airy mix
Added this to my soil mix and is perfect for most plants who love a chunky, aerated substrate..

I used this wonderful UK GROW Premium orchid care repotting bark to repot my orchids and bromeliads, it was so simple to repot the orchids as the bark was beautifully dry, there were no ‘claggy’ bits that I have seen in bags of re-potting compost from the chain garden outlets. This stuff is simply brilliant.
