Having an old Wii and a new TV left us with a problem of not being able to connect the two. Connecting the console via this and an HDMI cable solved the issue. Excellent product works straight out of the packet.

Makes your Wii come alive on your new 4K TV. The output is not actually in 4K but an upscaled 1080p if I’m not mistaken, but those numbers are boring anyways. What’s not boring is the fact that your Wii games will look deliciously awesome on your huge gaming TV (the colors are so vibrant and everything is so “eye candy”). The adapter itself is practical by being easy to connect and not having any cables at all. For now I am very satisfied and can’t wait to have friends over to play some Wii classics.

Bought this to allow me to connect my old Nintendo WII to a modern television that only had HDMI connections it worked flawlessly truly plug and play displaying both picture and sound in amazing quality.
One end fits in to the socket on the back of the Wii the other end connects to the HDMI connection of your television by a male to male HDMI to HDMI cable {not Supplied) it is that easy.
The adapter has a separate 3.5mm headphone style jack in case you wish to plug the audio signal in to a powered speaker monitor or headphones.
You might need to go in to settings and the screen menu on your WII to change the resolution from 480I to 480P to get the best results.

Worked as described and required! Wanted a solution to allow easy connection to the HDMI ports for my parents old Wii on their new 4k TV. This worked simply and effectively right out of the box. No need to make any setting changes to the console or TV. However I would recommend that once you have changed to the correct input on your TV. You go into the Wii console settings and change to the highest resolution It offers.
Is it full on 4k HDR super mega resolution? Of course not. The Wii can only output up to 480p. And this device cannot magically upscale. What it will do is provide the best possible picture for your TV to interpret it.

This product is a 10/10. I bought this because since there is no more tv’s now that supports the wii outputs, but with this adapter worked great! Very easy to use. I have a 4k tv and it display the audio for me. Of course the wii graphics aren’t going to be 4k but great quality. Would recommend if you want to play your wii again.

This is a great HDMI connector that did the job! I was not able to play my Wii after we purchased a new flat screen that didn’t have AV connection. This connector is just what is needed for making the Wii work.

We ordered one of these converters from a different Amazon seller and could only get the Wii to show in black and white. The other seller had us do some troubleshooting but it didn't fix the color issue. We returned that converter and ordered this one. This one works great, and plays in full color. Highly recommend!

This awesome device does exactly what it's supposed to do! We recently put a new TV in my kids playroom and it doesn't have the old component hookups so we weren't able to use the Wii. I did some research and found this and decided to give it a shot. It was so easy! Just hook the device up to the back of the Wii and use an HDMI cable that connect from that to the back of the TV and boom! Just minutes later we were playing the Wii on the new TV. Works great!

Broke out the Wii for Guitar Hero, only had HDMI ports on the tv! This thing let me plug it right in. I didn’t anticipate an audio lag running through my home theatre, but they’d thought ahead about it with the 1/8” aux sound output! Zero lag there and i can bypass all the digital processing and plug it straight into my house speaker and really be a Guitar Hero. Now using an HDMI cable doesn’t make 4k happen by itself people, but the Wii looks as good as it did back in the day. Kinda pixelated if you stretch it onto a 65” display. Does exactly what it’s expected to do and more, go for it!

BUT it's better than stock and makes it easier to hook up to modern TVs. It was a very easy install, so easy a caveman like me could do it. I just wish there was a better option for this cheap since I don't know how to console mod (and console modding is expensive too) anyways I'd say despite all this it was almost perfect.

This won’t give you 4K or anything, but it cleans up the image and makes gameplay more enjoyable. The Wii is native 480p and cannot be up converted to 1080, (simply impossible because the Wii console and its content is 480p), but what this adapter does is allow you to forgo the stock cables and hookup direct via HDMI, which will hookup direct to the TV HDMI input, (don’t try to go through an AVR). TV settings are important. On the Bravia it has an automatic configuration for games, but even still you’ll want to double check the settings to make sure the pass through is enabled if you’re TV is capable and Auto settings are enabled correctly for video and audio. On Sony Bravia, “Auto” 480p will provide great video, and Audio Auto 2 (allow uncompressed multi channel audio only), will allow the PCM stereo to pass through to AVR and give Dolby Pro Logic II as long as the Wii console audio setting is set to “Surround” and your AVR is set to decode PCM stereo surround to “ProLogic II”.

Compared to a standard AV connector, this HDMI adapter offers a clearer image with sharper edges, more vibrant colours and no fuzzy corners.
This adapter is better than others I’ve bought in the past. Others tend to have fuzzy lines going across certain colours on the screen. This adapter just doesn’t do that which is good.
You’ll noticed it’s advertised to give 1080p output which is not true due to the fact that the Wii only supports a maximum signal quality of EDTV/HDTV (480p)
Having one of these adapters means you’ll have the best you’re gonna get out of a Wii in terms of image quality.
I’m happy with my purchase.
The before images are displayed at 60Hz (480i) through the original AV cable.
The after images are displayed at EDTV/HDTV (480p) through this HDMI adapter.
To people noticing a black border around the screen, this is normal. And the Wii was displaying like this before, you just didn’t notice as most TVs have overscan locked on when using an AV input. In most cases, overscan is automatically disabled through HDMI. If your TV has an overscan option, turn it on when using your Wii.

Pasar de 480i a 480p escalado a 1080p es un cambio grande en la imagen, me dolan los ojos anteriormente con lo borrosa que era la imagen. Ahora, los colores son mas vivos y la imagen mucho ms definida.

on conoscevo esistenza di tale prodotto si collega direttamente alla wii e poi ci si collega il cavo hdmi che va alla TV, costicchia come tutti gli adattatori 12.99 per funziona e soprattutto si collega alla wii e non direttamente allo smart tv, prodotto e inscatolamento cinese, per ora funziona arrivato in neanche 48 dall’ordine

This appears to be scaling up the 480p output of the Wii to a 1080p picture using nearest neighbor scaling or integer scaling and creates poor color reproduction and color bands on solid colors. This minor picture quality issue isn't very noticeable while playing games. However, it's worth noting that I also have a Wii U and running Wii games on it gives nearly perfect scaling and clear colors. This device's output looks muddy and dull by comparison, though some of that might be down to the Wii's already poor image quality. Still, this is a great option for your Wii and vastly better than standard AV cables. Just don't expect picture quality miracles, and if you're a serious picture quality nerd get a Wii U instead to play those Wii classics.

I'm feeding this through an upscaler in the end, so a clean 480p signal is all I need. This product fails to meet my expectations, but is the best I've found on Amazon.

Neat packaging and easy to connect. Earplug output works fine. The image is noticably better and sharper compared to the 480i output of the component cables. Dont forget to change your screen settings on the system settings to 480P when you are connected with the hdmi.

Hatte die gute alte Wii schon abgebaut, um sie irgendwo im Schrank zu verstauen… Denn der neue Fernseher bot leider keine Anschlussmglichkeit mehr (nur noch HDMI-Eingnge). Und jetzt konnte ich ihr fr kleines Geld neues Leben einhauchen! Am neuen 55 Zoll Fernseher sieht das Bild gut aus! Und auch der Ton wird tadellos ber das HDMI-Kabel bertragen. Bin sehr zufrieden. Vielleicht sollte ich die Nintendo Switch, die die Kinder zu Weihnachten bekommen sollen, wieder umtauschen…?!?

IL PROBLEMA
Se si compra un televisore nuovo oramai non raro trovare un monopolio di uscite HDMI lasciando da parte tutte quelle uscite audio/video, Scart etc… presenti sui vecchi modelli. E’ stata questa la situazione in cui mi sono cacciato qualche giorno fa, con un nuovo Samsung sul mobile della mia camera ed una cara vecchia Wii da collegargli, e se state leggendo questa recensione, o ci siete finiti per sbaglio oppure sapete che la Wii di uscite HDMI non ne ha. Per ovviare al problema compro allora un adattore da composite ad HDMI e funziona tutto, ma la qualit video lascia molto a desiderare: a 50Hz era tutto poco definito, a 60Hz addirittura sfarfallava tutto, e vi assicuro che per un fan dei giochi Wii ti logora dentro vedere cose del genere. Con una ricerca scopro allora questo prodotto…
L’ INSTALLAZIONE
Che dirvi signori miei, tutto ora va a meraviglia, l’aggeggino in questione arriva in una scatoletta senza nient’altro di rilevante se non l’adattatore stesso, che, aspetto comodo, non ha bisogno di alimentazione esterna; lo attacchi direttamente allla Wii al posto dei cavi audio/video tramite la parte grigia che sporge, dal versante opposto colleghiamo invece il cavo HDMI da attaccare anche alla tv ovviamente.
LA QUALITA’ DELL’IMMAGINE
La qualit dell’immagine ora perfetta, credo sia il massimo a cui si possa ambire su Wii (la quale in ogni caso, con o senza HDMI, non arriva mai ad essere in HD), semplicemente tutta un’altra cosa rispetto a prima.
CONCLUSIONI
Un oggetto provvidenziale per tutti coloro che hanno una tv con solo uscite HDMI, chiaramente non posso garantirvi che non ci saranno problemi derivanti dal vostro modello di tv o altre anomalie, ma ho provato il dispositivo anche su altre televisioni e tutto va liscio; insomma, fatelo vostro, oltretutto l’esborso minimo. Ciao.

C’ poco da dire, funziona. Consiglio di mettere le impostazioni della Wii relative allo “Schermo”, “Tipo di TV” a “EDTV, 480p” che supportato anche dalle nuove TV europee. Il PAL “576i” infatti aggiorna 288 righe alternate ogni 1/50 di secondo, il 480p aggiorna tutte e 480 le righe ogni 1/60 di secondo. Anche se sta alla vostra TV fare l’upscaling da 480 a 1080 o 2160 righe, non c’ storia almeno per i giochi che supportano EDTV. Forse l’uscita Component era migliore, ma ormai non la mettono pi nemmeno quella nelle nuove TV.
Riprendo la recensione dopo un mese di utilizzo. Se impostate la regolazione immagine schermo del vostro TV su “HDR” o su modalit tipo “cinema”, ma anche lo “standard”, le immagini Wii sono piuttosto scure. Quando usate la Wii, meglio usare contrasti elevati tipo “sport”, “giochi” o “nitido”. Poi per i normali programmi sono troppo accesi e conviene tornare alle regolazioni precedenti. Per l’audio, se la TV connessa ad un Home Teather oppure la TV ha una sound bar e impostate l’audio Wii su “Surround” ed il gioco compatibile Dolby, funziona bene.

One caveat is in my settings for the Wii I had to tell it to Stretch the screen space to look good on the widescreen TV. It seems to be working fine. Wii Sports plays accurately. I have not noticed any lag or other artifacts. It's not a super clear picture but that is the Wii's fault, it only supports 480i out so you won't be getting any amazing HD pictures on your TV. I would imagine it would look better on a smaller screen, maybe a 40inch would be better but the 55 inch is what I had.

Does as described. Very pleased. Resurrected my old Wii. This was easy to install & worked out of the box. Bought to replace the old components/scart lead with hdmi as I have no TV’s with these old connectors now. I have this connected to a 55″ Samsung UHD TV. As the description clearly says, this is not an upscaler so at the native 480p Wii output the picture quality is inevitably somewhat grainy on a 55″ screen. It is however quite acceptable snd both audio and video worked fine. At the price this is well worth it if you are happy to accept the lower picture quality. If you want full 1080p or higher quality you’ll need to spend a 3 figure amount for an upscaler or buying a latest model Wii.

We love the wii and had it since they were first out, was thinking we should upgrade to the switch but got so many games on the wii including balance board that I resent getting rid of it all but since updating our tv, we could no longer plug in the 3 couloured leads, and some cheap and nasty adapter that never worked. Then I bought this absolutely perfect! 100% recommend

In 2021 hat kaum ein Fernseher einen Composite-AnschlussBld, denn die Wii wird nie alt – und auch in Zeiten von 4k120 und PS5 gibt es nichts besseres als Mario Cart.
Nichtmal 10 kostet dieser Adapter, der selbsterklrend einfach an den Wii Bildschirmanschluss gesteckt wird, um das Signal auf HDMI zu konvertieren.
Die Wii ist sofort startklar. Nur noch einschalten und dem Klang der Nostalgie lauschen!
Ein Muss fr jeden, der noch eine Wii zu Hause hat!
