his allows for better quality than Bluetooth and it actually does make a difference I think everybody should have one of these for a PC
A seamless Solutio
I bought a normal dongle first, but it lagged and jumped within 30mins of playing, so I turned it for this so I bought this and it very good and there never been any lag at all 🙂
(I wasn’t aware of this product before buying the normal dongle, otherwise, I would have just saved my time and got this)
Easy to use
Easy to setup, just plug in to any of the USB and windows install’s the driver. Then you just press the button on the end of the adapter and then the controller to assign it wireless. And your good to go.

Plugged this little device into my pc, windows 10 detected it, switched Xbox one controller on and paired it and it worked. No lag or disconnections yet.

Struggled to get a guitar hero controller working but it wasn’t a problem with this – I needed additional software (and to read instructions) then it worked perfectly with Clone Hero

These are great for quick and reliable pairing of Xbox controllers to your pc. Added bonus is the new ones are now much thinner so they’re only as wide as the USB port itself – the older ones used to obstruct adjacent ports.

Works just fine on Win 10 with an Xbox one elite and a general Xbox one controller. Regular USB sized dongle though is on the slimmer side.
Range is quite nice on it, have used a controller from the other side of the room (about 4-5 meters) without any problems. No input lag noticeable either.
Housing is made with nice soft plastic so it looks high quality.
The built in white LED is helpful during pairing. It is continuously on while something is connected to it, but it isn’t too bright, not distracting at all.
Only annoying is that, the little connection cover that comes with it doesn’t fit on the back of it… Another piece of plastic to store and try not to loose..
Quick, easy, small.
Does exactly what it should, and does it well. Was able to pair it very easily with an existing XBox wireless controller on my son’s Windows 10 PC. Big selling point was the size – this is about half the width of the previous generation of MS adaptor, so has freed up a USB slot that the old one blocked. Can’t go wrong for 20.

Thanks. As it says on the tin although it never arrived in original packaging but it was brand new and it seems to be the real thing. So far no issues at all. Connection to pad and pc no problems and updates when connected for the first time.

Pleased this was genuine after buying a few “genuine” ones for them to turn out to be cheap and fake. Really easy to connect controller to pc and not had any problems.
Works fine on PC for Xbox One controller.
Make sure you have up to date drivers on Windows 10. I had to download a free software programme to do this for me as using Windows 10 Pro so wasn’t happening for some reason and initial issues with installation and no Drivers installed.
Small and discreet and comes with an extension wire so you can plug it into USB at the back of a desktop and over onto your workstation.

It took me a while to set it up as the drivers it came with werent updated, I had to look online for ones that were updatd enough so my controller would connect to it.
That aside, this is a great product. I had the previous generation, the tall, wide, slim version of this and because of how wide it was I didnt really like using it because it blocked off other usb ports at the back of my PC, but this new one is all-around just small, it’s great.

After having issues with a Bluetooth connection I bought this to switch to the wireless connection and it’s just as you’d expect.

I was using a bluetooth adapter to connect my Xbox one controllers, sometimes they would be ok and other times they would drop out, very temperamental. I bought this dongle and it worked straight away, no messing about , just paired the controllers and a way to go, controllers haven’t dropped out once, I also find the batteries seem to last longer, maybe it’s just me, it could be perhaps the signal doesn’t have to be as strong from the controller to connect, anyway I think it’s well worth the extra couple of pounds to get something working properly all of the time.

Plugged in and connected straight away keep thinking I’m on my Xbox. Today it did keep disconnecting so thought it was faulty but checked my computer and it needed an update after that all working fine again.

Purchased as I wanted to use my Xbox controller wireless when gaming on my PC but considering all it does is allow you to connect wirelessly at 21 it’s a bit of a rip off. No issues with product, just the price!

Why buy an Xbox if you can buy this
It’s great, I’ve been using it with 4 controllers at once, at different PCs as well, had absolutely no issues. You don’t need to install anything, it just works out of the box. If a game has a controller support, it will work with it.
I just wish there was a way to attach the cap when the adapter is plugged in to the computer, it’s way too easy to lose it.
This product may not be necessary if your machine has Bluetooth
I researched online how to connect a xbox controller to a windows laptop and found that this was needed, however once my controller arrived I found out that I could use the laptop Bluetooth to connect the controller so this product was not necessary. I expect the product is perfect for machines without bluetooth. It may have been helpful to indicate this in the product description. Was however very happy with the return service which was quick and simple

Works just as it should, Windows 10 x64. Needed to use Windows update for driver.
The product does its job first and foremost. However the drivers that it tells you can download and install, irrespective of what they tell you, do not work on Windows 10 Pro. Having spent an hour or so trawling the web, I found someone who’d had the same problem…which gave me the drivers I needed to make this product work. It might be a great product but someone at Microsoft needs to sit up and take notice because in my search I came across numerous people who had had the issue. All working fine now….but no thanks going to Microsoft.
Tried to install this yesterday but it was having trouble with the driver and in device manager it was just showing XBOX ACC with a yellow triangle next to it and it would not hook up. The description said unable to find driver.
It was not working on two computers including a surface 4 (which is the Microsoft-ist of Microsoft hardware) so I knew it was not the actual adapter that was faulty. and that it was unlikely to be a hardware conflict due to the Surface being 100% microsoft hardware.
I tried loads of things but nothing worked, I then stumbled across the solution.
The last windows 10 update (1809) has caused some issues with certain ISP’s (BT is definitly one as that is what I am using) with DNS not routing traffic to the Microsoft servers (I know Microsoft right ??!!?! cutting their own method of communication) so you don’t get updates or drivers.
But fear not the solution is relatively simple.
You just need to connect up to a different ISP, in my case I connected using my mobile by sharing the 4G network and connecting my computer via the WIFI (in other words I tethered it) ,
and as if by magic ………….. MS updates DONE ! …………….. and after selecting install drivers again for the XBOX ACC in device manager the drivers were found and installed for the Xbox adapter which then connected up to my controller and hello wireless gaming 🙂
If you can’t get another connection to the internet at the moment but want to be sure this is your problem just go into settings on you computer then updates and check for new updates, if it says it cant connect and you should check your internet connection (even though you know you are connected) then this is your issue and you need to find another connection or wait until they have resolved this issue on your ISP.

So far it works very very well, easily installed, works well connecting multiple Xbox One controllers to my PC, works recognised flawlessly with regular PC games and emulators with no issues.

Driver issues for the longest time
It works fine if you can find a driver for it. I spent the longest time trying to find a driver that works. You would have thought it would be easier in Windows 10 but no.

I originally purchased the wireless adapter for windows 10 so that I could play steam games with an old Xbox one controller whilst having the comfort of sitting further away from my desk. I have used the device on multiple occasions and it is very easy to use. It is simply plug, press and play. I have had no issues with this device and it remains a permanent part of my computer for when I fancy playing some games. I would recommend this to anyone who wants the comfort of using a controller whilst playing games on their PC and who doesn’t want to be limited by a USB cable.

So just in case your wondering this USB Xbox dongle is compatible with PC windows 10
step 1
Just plug it into your USB port on your pc hold down the button at the top of the USB to activate syncing
Step 2
press the syncing button on your Xbox wireless controller ( I used the Green/Grey Special edition cost 50)
step 3
All done the drivers are automatically downloaded and up to date if not I would recommend Driver Booster however you shouldn’t need it remember on steam to use big picture mode however this isn’t always necessary this will work on almost all FPS games even some games which are not supported by downloading other peoples custom controller builds.
The usb itself is small about triple the size of a bluetooth dongle and doesnt get warm even after playing gta 5 for several hours, canny wait for fallout 76 and give that a go!

in my msi mother board this adapter is not recognized properly in a usb3 port, only in usb2
when u connect it in device manager there will be a xbox acc missing driver which stupid windows would not install unless u right click and update
than it works, but controller disconnectes after 5 mind of playing games, than i realized that there is a 1m extension cable in the pack, so i pulled the adapter a bit away from the pc where my logitech mouse adapter sits, and finally wont disconnect
then i plugged in a headphone in the controller, than windows recognize it as new audio device, again in device manager there is missing driver and u have ti manually select update so it will downloads the driver from the internet ..
i will test it further, but sometimes it give crackling noise when the headphone is connected to the controller, so i started to use the sound card on the mother board, anyway ur killing the controller battery much faster with the headphone, but i want to see full functionality between two Microsoft product.

Discrete, better packaging than the old version, driverless setup on Windows. Although newer Xbox pads support bluetooth making this less desirable, the Elite pad still requires one of these. Luckily this device works flawlessly and is fairly cheap.

its half the size of the original adapter and works straight out of the box with no issues. I had the original version of this and it was terrible. i tried using the Bluetooth built into the newer controllers which is hopeless as I kept having frequent drop outs and was very difficult to reconnect. Tried it on many pc’s with the same result.
With this new adapter it just works and no drops out or pairing issues.

I did have an issue initially because I also have a receiver for my wireless headphones which caused a lot of interference, but using the included USB extender, I can put the receiver on my table and that seemed to solve the problem.

Without a doubt, the Bluetooth capability of the Xbox one controllers is rather dubious (I experience connectivity issues, stuttering, and unresponsiveness on my rig), but paired with this adapter… it is just flawless.

I had the previous wireless dongle, this is leagues apart. The old one frequently had to be reconnected and proved highly unreliable, it was also unsightly and large. This new revision fixes all the issues and proves to be both tiny and reliable.

Both worked well with controllers but the old one was huge. The newer model still sticks out a bit but it’s less likely to get damaged accidentally. Especially when used with a gaming laptop.
Hopefully Microsoft will be working to get it even smaller for the next release.

it does get the job done. But maybe quite expensive for those who have already Bluetooth connectivity but the XBOX controller is very buggy through the Bluetooth connection.

Works perfectly. Unlike the plenty of generic Bluetooth dongles I’ve tried before. Sure this is more expensive but and it only has one function but at least you won’t have to deal with connectivity issues, high latency or a short life product.
If you connect the controller to something else via Bluetooth then you will need to re-sync your controller with this dongle. That isn’t a problem worth taking one star of the product review though, because that’s literally how Bluetooth works. Expecting it to work differently than that would be like expecting magic to happen.
Overall, this is perfect, can feel little to no difference in comparison to using a wire.
I use this on my pc upstairs, and bluetooth on my laptop, only issue is that when I have used it on my pc upstairs, switched it off, switched to bluetooth laptop I have to resyn the controller via bluetooth instead of it just recognising the device. Its a small inconvenience but whatever. Overall this is a tidy and small enough receiver to not to get in the way for a pc without bluetooth.

This is the new smaller version of the one that came out in 2015 which is still being sold at a similar price.It works perfectly so don’t buy the old bulky one buy this one.
