After an unsuccessful venture with a cheaper Chinese one, I tried this one. Made in North America, feels like quality, and more importantly…attracts the flies and kills them! I live in the country and have a variety of different sized insects, and they all meet their maker with this.

What an awesome bit of kit. Does the job well, has zapped many flies, bugs etc. Easy to clean. Does frighten everyone that comes to my house when it zaps something because it’s so loud. My husband still jumps now every time it goes off!! Wish I’d bought this before instead of wasting money on those horrible sticky things!

I should have paid more attention to the other reviews that said there is a loud crack/pop every time a fly is killed. It’s LOUD!!!! Depending on the insect, there could be multiple cracks and even sparks and sizzling. Reminiscent of the execution in The Green Mile….. We can only have it on when the dog is at the other end of the garden so it hasn’t been used as much as I would like. It definitely kills the flies though!

Golden Review Award: 32 From Our UsersI had a new conservatory built last year. The summer was plagued by flies – which severely hampered my enjoyment of my new space. I tried various solutions – including fly papers but still I was plagued by flies. This year I bought this zapper.

I quickly discovered that it doesn’t do anything during the daytime. However, I left if on a timer switch overnight and day after day I returned to find that the easy empty tray had collected multiple kills. I now operate it from about 10pm to 6am and I am virtually untroubled by flies.

It does occasionally go off with a loud crack as a fly or other insect hits to electric wire and that can be a bit of a surprise. But it’s worth it. I got mine in a Prime Day sale for about 30 but even at the regular price of around 44 I think this is worth every penny.

It really has changed my life by making my conservatory a great place to be.

We have a parrot and her fruit bowl attracts flies and wasps during the summer.
But since using this, only one or two bugs have settled on her fruit.
The ‘crack’ when a fly is trapped is quite loud, but we are used to it now and it is well worth it as we have rarely been bothered by flying insects this summer.

We have bi-fold doors from our kitchen that open onto the garden. Lovely, but insects fly in and struggle to escape. Not good around food preparation areas.

This item is perfect for a large space like ours and comes with a chain for wall mounting if required. As others have pointed out, anything that hits the wires is killed instantly with a loud pop. It is quite alarming at first but you soon get used to it.

The tubes are replaceable and a tray catches the bodies. It’s easy to remove and clean.

We used to come down in the morning to find bodies all over the place because insects had flown in and died slowly overnight. No more. The device kills them quickly and in one place.

    A very effective product.

This zapper helped me fight an ugly fly infestation that emerged in one of the bathrooms over the summer. Not sure what exactly happened, but a rotten smell slowly settled in and big, black flies started to appear out of nowhere, to the point where that bathroom could not be used anymore and had to be closed and locked down.

As soon as the zapper arrived, I’d just placed it inside the bathroom and let it do the work. In just 2 days, all the black flies have been completely destroyed. Must have been about 30-40 of them. I’ve also cleaned the sink pipes best way I could afterwards, in case there were more fly eggs laid down the pipes, or larvae, and disinfected everything.

For the usual daily use against flies and other insects, I would say that it is totally up to the job. 100% efficient. Turns them into charcoal. Just place the zapper anywhere flies are present and give it a little time. It works best during the dark, when the zapper is the only light source in the room, but it also does a good job during daytime.

Bought this based on the great reviews, and it didn’t disappoint! I have only had it for a day so can’t comment on how durable it is, but in terms of effectiveness, it’s pure awesome! I tried fly stickers and setting up fly traps, and this is by far the most effective and fast in getting rid of flies. Yes it’s brutal, that zapping sound! Yes it’s ugly and big and needs to be stored, but it actually works. Value wise, I could have spent more money on fly stickers and not caught asany flies, although I haven’t compared with other similar offerings. What a relief to be able to get rid of the flies!

I love it- it’s the best thing since sliced bread!!! It makes people jump out of their skins when the bugs are electrocuted – my only criticism, as it makes an extremely loud noise. Would definitely recommend as it does the job.

The only thing I dislike is emptying a tray of dead flies (ugh); but i rather they are dead and not flying round my kitchen. The flies are executed with a bang (good riddance) and I am happy i’ve finally got something that works.

We installed the unit on top of our kitchen cabinets and it got to work straight away. The crack when a fly gets zapped is alarming at first (like someone cracking a whip) but so much better than having flies buzzing around. The power lead is very short, as other people have said, but fortunately we have a socket above the cabinets to plug into.
I am delighted with how effective it has proved to be. Highly recommended if you can position it in the right place.

  14. Anonymous says:

Easy to use, and has been effective in zapping some moths and small insects like fruit flies.
A drawback in the product is that the electrical lead is far too short. It needs to be longer.
I have had to use an extension lead to overcome this.

We installed it in the nail treatment area of a beauty salon. Flies seem to be attracted to some of the nail products used but fortunately the Aspectek zapper proves a better attraction with the result that flies get….zapped!
Other reviewers have already commented on the loud zapping noise whenever an insect ‘gets it’ and if legally possible, it can benefit from a longer mains lead than it currently has.

I tried a smaller device, but the mosquittos where not impressed. So I tried an Aspectek, and that was successful.
After one hour all Mosquittos where exploded and I could stop the Aspectec (till the next colonne Mosquitto’s came).
This is really a very good Mosquitto Killer.

When the flies hit this, you will know. They won’t. We were unsure at first, as the flies seemed to avoid it, then we started getting kills. There was one fly that appeared to be stunned, so my wife picked it up and threw it against the grid. There were five massive crackling bangs and some flashes. She feels guilty. I asked if she would have preferred that we write it a letter asking it to leave.

I’m not a fan of zapping infects in general, but feeling like we were being eaten, we finally choose this light, and wow. Love it! Been using it for a week now, it’s very effective. Easy to clean and neat enough that it looks ok in place too.

Side note, it makes a little popping sound ( like fun snaps) when it’s getting the insects, depending how squeamish you are, that can be off putting.

It works absolutely perfectly, but unfortunately makes a loud “crack” noise whenever it catches a fly/wasp and it scares the living daylights out of our usually feisty dog! Even after several days, she still hates it. We love the product, but the dog doesn’t!.

  21. Anonymous says:

This certainly works – uv light attracts flies really well. They then get ‘zapped’ as soon as they make contact with the electrified grid. Makes a very loud cracking noise. Only downside for me is that the bigger flies aren’t killed outright. Some are there for ages – on their backs, legs waving, before they succumb. Some even eventually manage to struggle to their feet, take off – only to be zapped again and then die. Much as I want rid of disease carrying flies, I don’t like the feeling of torturing any living creature. Thought they would fly in, get zapped and die instantly, never knowing what had hit them. This device certainly works but I’m struggling with my conscience at the moment.

This is a really effective way to remove flies from your house. I didn’t hold out much hope, but wow it really works. We live near open fields with cows and sheep and consequently lots of flies come in when it’s hot, if our windows are open. This has solved our problem. It does make you jump at first when a fly is caught, but it sooooo worth it.

I live in a semi-rural location and flies are a real problem in the summer months.
I purchased one of these for our kitchen and simply placed it on top of our fridge/freezer (it does come with a ceiling hanging kit, but I chose not to use it).
The number of flies it kills is very impressive. Admittedly, not all of them end up in the collection tray, so you need to clean up the area surrounding it as well. This isn’t a problem for me – we no longer have load of flies in the house – so it’s job done!
    Highly recommended.

Bought due to influx of flies in the conservatory but found that the zapper needs to be in a dark space to attract the buggers. Eventually sited and exterminating the world’s fly population one at a time – think I’m on the losing side but trying. Tray at bottom easy to remove and empty but the pesky critters get under it which means unplugging and taking the whole unit to the bin.

Golden Review Award: 29 From Our UsersI forgot to review this after I bought it and I need to make that right.

Let’s face it nobody wants to have to buy anything like this but it’s a needs must situation. My needs must was the fear of my rabbits (who live in my conservatory) getting fly strike which can be fatal and that nasty fly paper just didn’t do the job as in the summer time they’re relentless.

So I’d had enough and bought this animal. What can I say. This is a brutal device fit for purpose.

The only minor negative I would give it is that it still sh**s me up now and again when you hear a fly get electrocuted and you’re not expecting it!

    Hope this helps.

That my Rabbits are ok and any flies that mess with them die!

  30. David Watsky says:

Very effective in destroying flying insect pests. It hangs from a chain which is attached to the top. This works well if the device is hanging from the ceiling. However, if you are hanging it on the wall (like me) then it won’t sit flush against the wall. It could do with wall attachment (holes?) on one side, but a small issue which doesn’t affect it’s effectiveness. Overall very happy.

Great Prime day offer especially now weather is turning hot ~ from the photo you might think it’s a small item but it’s more like a big handbag or small briefcase so will take a good chunk of a window ledge if you choose to stand it up rather than hanging it up with the provided chain. So far our insects seem to have radar & are keeping away from the kitchen but it has stunned a couple of fruit flies into submissio

Like the other reviews, this is a real working item, so the loud ‘SNAP’ when the buggy fiend gets fried is alarming at 1st! This product most definitely works and can be relied upon to clear the air of the pesky flies/insects/moths. Like other reviews could do with a longer lead, but does works just as well on a table top as up high. Easy to setup and clean. So much better than my previous 10w unit that could not Zap a Mosquito let alone kill it. Recommended.

  37. Brian E. Clark says:

     United Kingdom

This really works but as other reviewers have stated, the cord is way too short. The chain provided is a waste of time as there is not prospect of hanging this anywhere unless you just happen to have a plug socket in your ceiling. It makes a very loud cracking pop when the flies are exterminated but it is good and even over one night we harvested about 30 fly carcasses. Gross but quite effective.

This is a veritable killing machine when it comes to flies and bugs. Living in the country we have a lot of them at this time of year and they can become a real nuisance. We’d previously been using fly papers, but these are messy and unsightly. This machine has sorted all that out immediately. It takes some getting used to, however, as every fly, bug or mosquito that falls foul of this is greeted by a loud CRACK as the insect hits the grill. As a result, it needs to be turned off at night or else you will turn into an insomniac. I’ve taken a point off because of that and also because our dog still gets a bit startled by it even after a week or so of use. It’s very easy to install and also maintain. Another slight criticism is the length of the cable – unless you have a power socket pithing around 3 feet you will need to use an extension cable with it. Other than that, great product!

  39. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

A really good and efficient product which kills flies with a small sharp explosion. Sadly this noise terrifies the dog, even from another room. The reason I have only given it 3 stars for ease of installation is that the power cord is so short that positioning it is entirely dependent on there being a socket within one metre. It comes with a chain to hang it from but there are not many situations I can imagine where it would be possible to hang it within one metre of a socket in a normal house, they are generally too low down.

  40. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

Bigger than I expected and looks more like a commercial unit rather than domestic. Power lead is very short and would be better if it connected to the unit at the base rather than at the top right hand corner.
Could the “kill” noise be a little quieter?? It makes me jump every time

  41. Alexandra Harris says:

I only wish I’d got these sooner! Mozzies are gone and flies are virtually non existent! Only thing is, my dogs get a fright everytime something gets zapped. I bought 2, one for downstairs and one for upstairs. And yes, I would defo recommend!

  42. Anonymous says:

Very effective killing tool, especially outside in the evening when you prepare the grill.
It is attractive for all kind of mosquitos, flies, wasps and other insects. The sound of the electrical shock could be surprising during the first procedures. As a conclusion this is an excellent acquisition.

  43. Anonymous says:

Does exactly what it says it does no problem. The power cable needs to be longer that is the only thing letting it down.

However be warned…..it doesn’t just fizz flies to death, it really does ZAP them.

Possibly not for those of a nervous disposition?

Golden Review Award: 31 From Our UsersI have updated my review, but left earlier comments.

Now I would say, great unit, one of the better solutions and avoids the expense, smell and hazards of using insect sprays. Now I am used to the issues I highly recommend, just look below to save hassle when getting to know your unit.

This a great little unit, plug in and ready to go. However, the unit makes a loud electric spark with a bang as an insect flies in, and this makes me jump everytime if I’m near.

Even though I have a small kitchen, flies can buzz around the room for ages before going near the unit.

Also, it hardly seems to kill outright, usually stunning flies. They recover after about 5 minutes, then find themselves incapacitated without the use of one wing. They then buzz around, fanning other dead insects out, or climb out. Some are killed immediately, but they are immediately incinerated, goodness knows where the body parts go as they disappear, although you may find an incinerated fly head on your kitchen surface. The insect collector is not sufficient on it’s own. Needs to stand inside another container that is at least 10 cm wider around all sides, and with a 3 cm lip.

Do not leave food below the unit or it could result in frazzled fly parts as an unwanted ingredient.

I am still using so need to give it more time.

  46. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

Larger than expected. Power cable is shorter than needed to be honest. I placed the unit on a window sill and even with the blinds closed…insects were trying to fly through the glass to get to the unit at night. Build quality is solid.

I brought 2 of these, 1 for living room and one for kitchen, as i have a fly problem, flies are attracted to these fly zappers as soon as they enter our flat, some seem to take longer to die than other, and the odd one seen to go for a second try. the zap is quite loud, and does make us jump, but all in all very good.

Great piece of kit this. We were slow cooking a lamb joint and it was attracting flies like crazy. We set this up in the kitchen and the little buggers started flying into it.

It makes a very satisfying “crack” sound when they fly into it and they dropped like flies. It doesn’t seem to kill flies instantly. They just sort of stagger around in the tray for a bit but they do die eventually. Brilliant buy. My only criticism would be the length of the cable.

  50. Brad Jones says:

     United Kingdom

First, what I like is that it actually works! I have tried one or two cheaper ones over the years which proved quite useless. It is big which no doubt is why it is described as “professional”. This does however present a challenge as to where to site it in a family home which for most people will be the kitchen. The only place for me was on the top of the kitchen cupboards. It worked but mainly flies were buzzing around the worktop area so it was a bit hit and miss. I have now moved it to a windowsill in the utility room which is more successful as this is where flies get in via the backdoor. There is no possibility of hanging it anywhere as is suggested.

The downside is that it would not reach any of the available sockets so that I have to use an extension cable. The one provided is ridiculously short and only makes sense in a professional environment where a socket is custom-installed close by. This problem has already been mentioned by other reviewers.

Overall however I am very happy with the Aspectek and would recommend it.

So glad I did this I’d the dogs do das, and once you get used to the explosions as a pest is zapped then your home will be clear of the pesky blighters.

    Can’t rate this highly enough.

  55. NoeliaSwinford says:

Power lead too short – I had to use an extension cable. The unit is supposed to be suspended according to the blurb which comes with the unit – with 1 metre power lead this is really not possible in a domestic environment. However, the unit works well as a fly killer.

    This is brilliant.
We have bifold doors in the kitchen leading out to the back garden, and flies were a pain. Not anymore thanks to this product.
    Very effective.
It is quite loud when the fly gets zapped though, a bit like a good quality Christmas cracker. At first it makes you jump, but you do get used to it. Maybe not for the faint hearted?
If I was being picky I would say the lead is a bit short, but I’m not going to mark it down for that because I’m so happy with the product.

Seems to work well especially at night when the flies don’t have other light sources to attract them. Feels solid for the price. It does make quite a loud crack every time it zaps a fly so you’ll know its working! Only major criticism as others have noted is that the mains cable is really short – it’s obviously designed for commercial use where a power socket can be specially installed to power it. In a domestic environment you are almost certainly going to need an extension cable.

Golden Review Award: 27 From Our UsersI was a little skeptical, but as we had a massive infestation of fruit flies (catching hundreds of them in vinegar traps but still had them everywhere) I thought I’d give this a try. It arrived promptly and soon proved to be very effective, had it plugged in at various locations around the house today (following the flies) and I’d say it’s killed a good 15-20 per hour. Well, I say killed … they get one hell of a shock which kills a lot of them instantly, the odd few seem to survive it but either go back for a second shock or conk out after a few minutes. They do make quite a bang when they go, like someone pulling a Christmas cracker … so be prepared for that, or you might end up spilling your coffee all over yourself like my wife did when it claimed its first victim 🙂 and the advantage over the vinegar traps is that the flies don’t get the chance to mate on top and then fail to crawl in. Hopefully we’ll be free of them in a couple of days now.

It will make you jump with a loud bang when anything is exterminated and if they are very big insect its a bit like an indoor firework display with multiple bangs.
One thing to note is that you will get insect debris not just in the bottom removable tray but all around the surrounding area of the unit as they blow to smithereens at times.

Ever since was got a pussy cat, we seemed to have flies in our kitchen. They would come in and mop up what kitty left behind. Since our purchase of this equipment, my family have become mesmerised by it. Once plugged in and switched on, it took only 45 seconds to zap the first fly. It was similar to someone cracking a whip. The only issue was that my wife was in the kitchen at the time perfecting her culinary skills and was tempting the family with a homemade curry. She let out a yelp the moment it fried its first victim and the curry was on the floor.
Since then we have sort of got used to it and now my family, wife and three sons, 22, 19, and 14 years , cheer loudly high five and chest bump every time it cooks another victim. It has become the families favourite pastime. We obviously turn it off when we go to bed as the neighbours may think me and my wife were into some kind of S and M bedroom gymnastics. I also wait for the time the police may turn up thinking we’re running some kind of electrical torture. Large moths are an absolute treat to watch and my sons actively encourage them into the home to watch the cremation take place. An excellent purchase and I encourage people to go out and get one. Money well spe

The power lead could do with being longer, it is short which limited our options of where to place it out of our toddlers reach. Boy does it pack a punch though! You hear those suckers meeting their electric end, and it’s rather a satisfactory bang if a little loud!!

Golden Review Award: 82 From Our UsersI was stunned to see the negative reviews on the product, saying things such as “flies are not falling in to it immediately” – as it clearly infers the users do not understand the basic nature of insects and how this works. To put it in to context, I have a fly paper in the sitting room, and the UV trap about four feet away. The fly paper has 20 flies, whereas the trap has 21.

In other words, the insects equally go for sticky sugar when compared to UV – but only just – and the fly trap is far less sticky! All the “dead” fall on to the tray below, so it’s easy to clean – unfortunately small moths have a habit of sticking to the electrified grid but a quick brush is all that’s needed.

I think this version probably works so well as it is 30w – it is much more effective than the other 20w device I have which only seems to catch the odd moth and mosquito. Word of warning, when a fly hits the grid, it makes a loud “ZAP” noise which might make you jump! Also, you might feel slightly guilty as the flies sometimes explode! Better this than your family getting sick. It’s also less grusome than the red top fly traps, which although incredible effective, smell and look like something from a horror movie.

On that macabre note; What do you call a fly without wings? A walk.

Better than other UV products I've bought so fa

Using in large greenhouse as overrun with insects and moths this year. Clean debris tray it out with light brush every morning (switch it off first!); bucket loads of zapped insects. Used in conjunction with air circulation fan which blows towards the zapper. Bought spare uv tubes to go with it as on 24/7. Greenhouse glows blue at night and you can hear sharp cracks as it electrocutes larger insects on the mesh. Very efficient kit.

I placed mine in my kitchen. I was really pleased how effective it has been. Just be warned if your near it when it catches a fly the crack it really loud and I jumped out off my skin until I got used to it. Just ordered another one for my living room

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis year has been awful for flies, particularly green bottles. This thing has worked extremely well. I’ve put it on a kitchen unit in a dark area of the kitchen. They don’t all swarm over straight away but gradually head towards it. It does make a loud crack when a critter makes contact – my dog doesn’t really like this, but it is undeniably effective.

Lots of flies have met their end with this.

I bought this to help with the biting bugs that fly around my garden and through the window at night. I’ve still had the odd bite, but nothing compared to this time last year.
It gives a very satisfying “CRACK” as it lays waste to a midgie/mosquito or any other flying pest that wants to ruin your relaxing evening.

Golden Review Award: 126 From Our UsersPrior to this particular insect killer I had purchased a much more aesthetic version; if Dyson did insect killers it would have looked like the one I bought: square with elegantly rounded corners, a discrete UV light embedded within the frame and a nicely symmetric grid. You could hang it on the wall and it looked almost like a piece of art. Beautiful. But useless. It just didn’t work. Not one fly died.

So I went in the other direction and bought this. A perfect expression of brutalist, American industrial design: large, ugly and crass where function is the only consideration and form merely a four letter word ….

This device has no end of design flaws. The materials are cheap, the power cord far too short and located for some bizarre reason at the top of the device rather than the bottom. The hanging chain looks like a complete after thought and positioned in such a way that if you do hang it on the wall (assuming you have a power socket at ceiling height in which to plug it) it will not hang flat but cantilevered away from the wall.

So why 5 Stars? Because it WORKS. It does the one thing that it is supposed to do brilliantly – kills flies. Actually it kills everything foolish enough to come into contact with its overpowered electric grid: wasps, moths, hornets, midges… one touch and BANG! like the crack of Doom (and it really is amazingly noisy) another flying nuisance dies, or, at least fifty percent of the time, just explodes such is the power coursing through the grid. You can hear it clear across the house. The dog hates it, but after about one hour of being on all flies are dead. So if you want dead insects, buy this. You will not be disappointed.

Fantastic! Was plagued by flies, blue bottles and wasps. This little beauty attracts them with the light and then zaps them. There is a crackle pop noise upon contact with insects but it doesn’t bother me as it means the machine is doing its job. I sit mine on the window ledge of the conservatory. Works well, 10 dead in the first hour alone.

Works like a dream - fab

Get it right now you won’t regret it! Worth every penny. Seems to be loads of flies at the moment and I need the back door open so my pup can go to the loo. Was sick of fly spray and worried about the damage it could do to my pup. The only down side is the loud bang/pop when it gets a fly. However, I was noticing the flies were taking a long time to die with fly spray. It also gets the little fruit flies. There is a tray that catches the bugs/flies in that is easily removed to empty. If I was being REALLY picky the cord could be a bit longer but it’s perfectly fine to plug in on the kitchen work top

Works well on smaller flies but on the larger oompah loompahs renders them unconcious for a minute or so. Some then recover and fly off others dazed fly back into elements and thence to eternity. However, higher wattage traps are several hundreds of pounds so is really a trade off between efficiency and cost. Be prepared though, for a significant ” crack ” as contact is made which if you are used to the adhesive type traps can be disconcerting.

This is great zaps the lot!
Only reason I’ve given it 4 instead of 5 is that when it zaps them it is so loud it makes me jump
I reckon if the electric shock didn’t kill them the shock of the noise does

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersDoes it work? Hell yes! It doesn’t so much kill flies as annihilate them! A very loud “snap” sound (be prepared to jump!) and they are ex-flies. This little lot were from one day (yesterday). This machine is perfect for keeping our kitchen fly-free, especially as our cats have cat food in their bowls during the day.

Fly killer? More like fly annihilator!

Golden Review Award: 102 From Our UsersArrived quickly, well packaged. I bought this to replace one I had had for years. Definitely the answer to summer flies. However, the cord is just 1 metre long which is too short for where I wanted to put it in my kitchen (high up). I have had to purchase another one (which has a 2 metre long cord). This one does work well & I have placed it in my utility room, but I do feel that such a short electric cord limits where you can put it as it has to be very close to a plug point.

Golden Review Award: 44 From Our UsersCertainly goes with a bang when the flies go in – but is highly effective. I have it stood up high on my fridge. I have only had it a month and it has caught hundreds of tiny midge-type flies.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAfter being plagued by flies when leaving our conservatory doors and windows open during the recent hot spell I looked at this device and after reading the reviews I went ahead and purchased it. This Electronic fly killer is brilliant, we have had no more problems with flies or any other flying insects since installation, as other reviewers have stated it is quite a loud crack when an insect meets it’s maker but you soon get used to it and it is reassuring to know the device is doing it’s job. Highly recommended and a very good price on Amazon as well.

Golden Review Award: 52 From Our UsersI have a couple of issues with the design of this product.
The power cable is rather short for a device that is meant to be wall mounted and out of immediate reach, furthermore, the cable is fixed and enters the device in the top right hand corner as viewed from the front, further restricting the cable reach, particularly if the device needs to be mounted with the wall socket to the left.
A better option would be to provide a detachable, somewhat longer cable with two plug in sockets, one left and one right ,on the base of the unit to give greater flexibility for positioning.

That being said, the device operates very well, although, as previous reviews have stated, the larger the fly, the louder the crack as they explode (hardly surprising really) and that takes a bit of getting used to, still, better that than having flies where there is food.

It is only the lack of flexibility in positioning without an extension lead that leads me to give a 4 star rather than 5 star rating, otherwise, I am more than happy with its effectiveness.

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersWell I am amazed. I got it yesterday and thought I would put it on the work surface under the wall cabinets and plug it in to see if it worked. Day and night it has been collecting bloaters, small flies and tiny fruit flies. Must be 30 in there already. I just seemed to have put it in the right place near my wine box, my fruit, and my recycling bin. It is true what everyone says about the loud ‘whip’ crack that sounds when a fly is incinerated. It has caught me many times aready and makes me and the dog jump – but its worth it. No hateful flies buzzing around since yesterday. It really works but perhaps I am lucky and have it in a prime location where its away from windows and doors yet near the attractants for flies. Its a keeper.

Seems very good so far and very easy to install in my kitchen which has a lot of problems with flies and mosquitoes. This should certainly provide a good way to kill flying insects without having to resort to fly spray. Also the UV tubes are readily available through Amazon for future replacement as the tubes wear out.

Golden Review Award: 100 From Our UsersWe have used this unit in a conservatory that just atracts flying insects by the hundreds. It does not take long for the unit to kill the pests.
It took a little while to get used to the “popping” noise of exploding insects and even now it can make us jump sometimes. The cat has got used to the sound and just sleeps.
The only annoyance is that the insects bodies tend to scatter over quite a large area when they explode. Clearing up does not take long and it’s better than having the insects buzzing around all of the time.

Arrived 1 day earlier than expected. Looking forward to putting it in a permanent position but the cable is pretty short. When a fly dies it makes a seriously explosive crack noise. Good that the fly dies quickly but it may also be the end of me due to cardiac shock each time an insect is electrocuted. Hoping that I will become accustomed to the noise!

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersThis unit works really well. Nice size which I was able to stand on top of a high cupboard, which the flying pests where still able find easily and be eliminated. It does come with a chain if you find it will work better if hanging from a hook in the ceiling. The power cord is only 1 meter long so you will an extension lead to enable you to site this device where it will be most convenient and useful for it to do it’s work.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMuch to my amazement it arrived in 3 days, especially as I live in Gibraltar, this is miraculous! It had only been working a couple of days and flying insects were really not around yet, or so I thought, the tray has revealed loads of small flying insects I didn’t know were there. I’ve left the review for a month to see how it goes, and yes, I’m delighted with it. As others have said, it certainly lets you know when its caught something, and when I opened an outside door recently, it sounded like a volley of machine gun fire! It’s like anything new, you get used to it and are just grateful it gets the mozzies, before they get me, even the cat takes no notice of it now

Golden Review Award: 32 From Our UsersIt does what it’s made for. Kills a lot of flies.

As you might expect, it’s much more effective in the dark when there’s no other source of light around, and then they just flock to it (or swarm to it, you might say).

Be aware that it makes a very loud snap when it kills the fly. Like the sound of a firecracker. And be aware that the cable is 1 metre long, so you might want to get an extension cable if you want to put it up somewhere.

Golden Review Award: 25 From Our UsersDefinitely worth investing in if you sometimes get flies, there’s a super-satisfying loud CRACK when a fly hits the grid, but at first it can be a bit distracting as it’s so loud, but you get used to it rather quickly! I’ve only used it a couple of times and it has only killed a few flies. The CRACK ! is very loud as others have said.

I happened to look at the device just as a large Bluebottle was venturing inside, there was no noise but I saw a tiny red flash in the centre of the fly. It fell to the tray with it’s legs pointing to the sky … I didn’t know how I should feel about it at that moment … it was a strange experience.

But hey-ho, flies are a pain in the arse aint they.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFor some reason we have loads of flys this year!? Fed up with them buzzing around so declared war on them! Just unpack and switch on, It got 2 flys in first 5 minutes! It’s quite big for a domestic area but I didn’t want to mess about with smaller ones that may or may not work. This had good reviews and reasonable price. It’s set up in kitchen, (away from food prep areas) it does make me jump if you are near it when it zaps, as it is quite loud, ( it’s like a loud crack/pop) but I guess that makes it quick and painless for the little blighters? It’s excellent! Easy enough to empty. Much better than running around with stinky spray, if you have flys buzzing around don’t hesitate to get this!

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our Usersshort lead but the unit itself is great. loud pop but its worth it to know that another annoying fly will not be spoiling the evening. Read reviews before buying one of these units and this one seemed to have favorable points . We are more than happy with the results from our Aspectek , now if they could only come up with a unit that does the same for cheesy soaps and reality shows then quality of life would be vastly improved ! … but for now the crack of another winged pest passing from this life is more than enough to keep a smile on my face ! .. .
