Azuma Bandit Barrel BBQ Charcoal Grill Wood Smoker Firebox Black Steel Portable Barbecue
Azuma Bandit Barrel Barbeque with Offset Smoker

Side air vent
Regulate the temperature inside the barrel smoker bbq to create perfect cooking conditions.
The side firebox has an adjustable vent which lets you control the flow of oxygen to the fire. The more oxygen you let in – the hotter the fire.
Control the level of smoke and temperature inside the main chamber using the adjustable chimney damper.
Temperature guage
Take the guesswork out of cooking temperatures inside the barbecue.
Keep your eye on the barrel’s inner temperature with the handy gauge on the lid of the large cooking chamber.
Easy to set up and store
Some home assembly is required. When the bbq season is over we recommend that your use a protective cover while your Azuma barrel smoker is in storage.

Easy to use smoke
Cooking chamber could have been a little bigger . That was the only downside it worked perfectly beef ribs came out soft fell off the bone made the bbq
Need silicone lids, cover the hole were hook goes inside for oil getting ou
So far have smoked chicken drumsticks, all oil coming out from drumsticks drops into bbq and there is a wee hole for a hook and all oil comes out on a floor which means mess on my concrete tiles. And there is some heat lose on the lids. You can see smoke coming out from lids. Heat resistant silicone would do the job. And kinda awkward to clean ash from smoker tray.
Offset smoke
Awesome ,solid, great price, my first smoker and I’m buzzing, will tighten up the nuts in morning, then season, see what tweaks are needed if any, looking at it I may need some heatproof silicone,I have a gasket to fit around doors if required.but will leave tht till I’ve seasoned it.
Works well with a bit of extra labo
The assembly instructions weren’t super clear, but generally had enough to get you through. This is a good introductory smoker for someone just starting out, arguably you might even want to go with something a bit smaller and simpler before springing for a more middle of the road option such as this.
The main thing I noticed (thanks to other reviewers) was the need to seal up any sneaky air gaps before using it. I’m glad I listened, because there are quite a few places that could use filling to improve the experience. Really happy with the end result though, and definitely excited to keep using it, however I feel like I probably should have spent the money and jumped straight into something a bit more robust given my enthusiasm for barbecue and the amount I used my old rig. This will definitely serve me well though and thankfully I don’t need to be too precious about it long term!
If you’re doing a couple of smokes a year and generally know what you’re doing, this is a decent solution for someone looking to upgrade without over-committing.
Brilliant BBQ
Mr first dive into the world of smoking! BBQ has plenty of room to prepare for any party and holds heat really well!
Only slight issue would be the instructions aren’t great but good enough to be able to assemble correctly!
Perfect for beginners.
Perfect smoker for beginners.
I was very keen to buy something more expensive, but glad I didnt – this is the perfect way to get started and really learn about smoking.
There is absolutely a skill to maintaining temperature and smoking meat beautifully.
I do ribs, brisket, burnt ends, chicken, salmon and more.
The temperture gauge isnt great, I do recommend buying a cheapish digital one for about 10 / 15.
So far Ive used the smoker about 12 times in 4 months and its super. I reckon it should last a good 2 years before I go for something more serious.
👍👍👍
Was a bit fiddly to put together. But once up, works a treat.
Good for the price
Takes a while to put it together but it seems sturdy and its works well. I have made a few modifications to it for easier use like a fire basket and the baffle to stop the firebox end burning. On the whole it was well made I used some smoke seal to plug the leaks but over all its a great beginners offset smoker !
value for money
son bought this and he thinks it great came before it should have and it good value for money
Exceptional starter kit. Works better than many expensive versions
Easy to put up, I used a heat proof silicone between all joints as this was recommended by a friend to stop smoke leaks (works brilliantl).
Hot smokes and cold smokes.
Bbq to perfection.
If you want a good starting point to smoking this is it.
Does the job
For a first smoker this has done the job brilliantly. It’s really simple to assemble, saying this I did have to use some of my own nuts and bolts as towards the end I didn’t know if I didn’t have enough or I’d miss placed them. Other than that grea
Great smoker, Great price thank you
Great smoker, large fire pit takes 3 or 4 logs easily. Easy to put together. I bought a roll of sealer tape for the smoke door and it seals perfectly. Had some great smoked food. The fire pit is big enough to fit a single electric hot plate on one of the supplied grids (obviously when there is no fire in the pit) topped with wood chips makes a great cold smoker and I have smoked some lovely cheese. All in all very happy
Great Sturdy Product & Service
Used this for the first time this weekend, on assembly I noticed that the axle for the wheels was missing from the package, contacted customer support, and a replacement axle was with me the very next day 🙂
The smoker is sturdy and works well, the only criticism would be the quality of the temp gauge, I found that this was not very accurate. The smoker itself works really well and is made from sturdy material and very easy to assemble and clean. Would highly recommend this smoker.
Great budget bbq smoker but needs attentio
Over lockdown I decided to use the time to finally learn how to properly BBQ cook and smoke. On a budget and not entirely sure what I was doing, I decided on this rig. As budget BBQs go this is a great BBQ. As a smoker, it needs some tweaking and a lot of attention to get good results. But you CAN get good results. It’s heavier than I was expecting but still too thin a metal to hold temperature steadily, which means when doing a long low and and slow cook you have to babysit it and feed wood the the entire time. Great fun but labour intensive. As a regular BBQ, loading coals straight into the chamber, it works great. It’s not easy to clean at all however.
To be clear: a ‘proper’ thick steal version of this rig will set you back 2k.
My honest advice having had this a few months and done several big cooks is, if you’re not planning on doing smoking that often, or mainly do ‘regular’ BBQ cooks (i.e. direct/indirect grilling) this is a great option, allowing you to have good results with a bit of work. If you’re really into smoking or if you don’t have the patience to babysit this when cooking, my advice would be you get what you pay for. The big brand bullet smoker is a more suitable entry level option, for not much more money really. Alternatively, a standard size kettle bbq can do great smoking.
Good barbecue but not easy to control tempraure!
It is as described. Very good for barbecue. However, you can’t control the heigh. Secondly, hard to control the temperature when using the smoker; need to continuously monitor it and play with the air vents. Even then, not sure how the meat will turn up. Takes time to master smoking.
Great smoker and good value for money
My Husband LOVES his BBQ smoker. As other reviews suggest, there is a bit of smoke leakage, but he’s just ordered some high heat-resistant sealant to seal around it. Food comes out beautifully, it quite easy to clean and good value for money. Just be aware when you smoke, you need to put something underneath the hole where the hook is, to collect the juice, if you don’t want to repeatedly hose down the patio!
Not perfect but good value, does everything
I like this BBQ. It’s by no means perfect but it’s good value for money. It’s sturdy but there are a lot of gaps which makes flow of air control challenging. Once I weighed the smoker lid down things went smoother. I’m a fan of low n slow BBQ cooking, smoking and grilling and this allows all of that on a budget.
You will need your own decent food thermometer, the one on the lid is not accurate.
I think the handle to move the entire BBQ being on the smoker means the entire weight is on the hinge between that and the main BBQ… that doesn’t seem like it will last but I’m being gentle when moving and it’s fine.
Fast service
Was delivered fast easy to build only had one cook with it yet but so far so good
Without a doubt the best BBQ I have ever purchased!!
Not difficult to assemble, with two of you.
As a slow cooking smoker, this is freaking awesome, but for straight up BBQ’ing this jury is out on that.
I cooked a whole chicken, with a Cuban rub, and a 2kg lump of beef, with a Kansas style rub, for close on 5 hours and they were both succulent, moist, and they quickly disappeared into hungry stomachs
Admittedly we were basting both in a mixture of cider, and Pepsi Max cherry. And the beef was finished off in that mixture, which caramelized the outside beautifully.
Very good quality charcoal bbq
Took a little to get going on the build but then straightforward.
Great large BBQ!
Absolutely fantastic BBQ and smoker! Works so well and looks the part too!
However it took us 3 hours to assemble. Hundreds of nuts and bolts. A few parts had to be taken off again to fit the next part which bolts underneath..?! Instructions are ok but to understand what really goes where then a degree in engineering did help.
Would recommend you buy from John Lewis who will assemble it on delivery for 40.
Fast delivery
Very fast delivery and easy to assemble. Has been used a number of times and works brilliantly.
Azuma smoker - great value for money.
I read a lot of reviews on smoker BBQs in this price range before buying this one. As a novice to smoker BBQs I wanted something decent that wasn’t too expensive and this really does fit the bill. I had some reservations about this model as some of the reviews said it was a nightmare to assemble and the instructions are a bit on the sparse side. I agree that the instructions aren’t particularly detailed but my partner assembled it on his own with no problems. The only part that caused some confusion was the grease cup holder but it just needed to the fed through the inside of the assembled bbq to hang beneath it. Some of the reviews said some of the screws aren’t long enough to be sturdy and the tray warps with the heat but we’ve had no problems on either account. The temperature gauge is OK but I will probably buy a more accurate one at some stage. I agree with the reviews that say the food closest to the smoker box cooks quicker than the food at the other end but this is easily overcome by a quick swap around part way through or by putting the food items that take longest to cook nearest the smoker box. We’ve been smoking fish in it mainly and we’re really happy with the results. Worth buying the separate cover for it in my opinion. We haven’t had it long enough to see any deterioration but there’s no reason so far to suggest it won’t last several years if protected from the elements. My only criticism is that it doesn’t come with a grease cup to put in the grease cup holder. I still haven’t managed to find a cup that fits in it!
Good product, takes a while to build
Have not used it to cook or smoke on yet due to our lovely British summer weather but have seasoned it and fired it up to check air flow and product quality… Impressed so far.
Took a little longer to build than expected and definitely requires two people to put together but overall seems like a good product. Fast delivery too
Nice bit of ki
Not put it through it’s paces yet. Please can you arrange for a replacement temperature gauge. It isn’t weather proof!! Filled with water following small shower!! It has two levels for smoking which I’m looking forward to using
Good looking solid BBQ
Item was delivered very quickly and in excellent condition.
We found the instruction booklet pictures rather small and poor quality but managed to make it out well enough to put the thing together.
Smoki
arrived promptly and in good condition. took two of us to assemble but that was as expected. I just held bits. very sturdily built. Will be sealing the joins fto the smoker/barbecue as advised on previous reviews. will be firing up this weekend. Happy days
Quality BBQ and Smoker.
I wanted to upgrade my smoker and get something a little more substantial but as I have only been smoking for about a year I didn’t want to spend a lot of money. This fit the bill perfectly and hasn’t let me down once. I would highly recommend it. Plenty of shelf space. Made of good material. Can hold temp and is easy enough to clean. I do advise buying the outdoor cover to go with, very heavy duty and worth every penny.
We have had this BBQ for 4 years and pretty much used it to destruction! It has been through 4 British Summers and Winters (under a cover) and we have used it over 300 times. We have cooked everything from Swordfish Steak to Brisket to Bread and even Paella on it. The best bits are: The adjustable coal grate in the main body which allows you to raise the coals right up to get a good seat into your meat, the “over the top” lid design that traps the heat and smoke pretty well for the price, the price.
The drawbacks: it’s a little wobbly, it takes a while to settle the temperature for smoking and it can be hard to control, the grills peeled off their heatproof veneer almost immediately. You can’t seem to buy replacement grills on line.
That said, we have got A LOT of use out of it and left it out in the elements so for the price we would say it’s a very good BBQ/smoker. Especially once you get used to it’s quirks.
Good fu
Hot smoking is, I’ve found, absorbing and challenging. Your smoker has given me days and days of amusement, learning how to get all the different elements running smoothly together as I imagine one would to prepare the ‘Flying Scotsman’ for a run. It cooks beautifully too.
Deep joy – great bit of kit.
You will need sealer tape after assembly as there is a small amount of mis-alignment on the lids
ot used it yet but looks good and I hope it does the job. the screws/nuts and bolts needed a clean up with a tap and die as the paint had clogged the threads a bit. Advise buyers to use the two slotted holes to help fit the fire box easily
Some might argue how great this product is, but considering its price, I have to say it exceeds my expectations. I bought this long ago, but had to wait for the summer to actually try it. After 3 months of use on most weekends, I can now give a proper review.
The build: Quite sturdy, even if in my case one of the wood handle’s pre-drilled hole was too big, so bespoke handle is only properly attached on 1 side. It is heavy, and definitely needs 2 people for assembly, mostly when you try to place the main cooking chamber on the frame/legs (so it is handy to have someone around to help out for a few minutes tops, 99% of it can be assembled alone). The handles have been the most difficult, as they are hard to reach with a screwdriver. The wheels are really handy, I keep it in the shed, and pretty easy to move it. After several uses, it is not rusting, not even in the fire chamber with the most heat impact. The parts that can get dirty/greasy can be removed and put in the dishwasher. The shelves on it aren’t massive, but are absolutely a great help for what I’m using it for. The fire chamber is pretty tight space, so it can get a bit tricky to put the cooking grills back in it after the coals are glowing as it is very hot and the opening is not wide enough – nothing you can’t sort out with proper gloves.
The use: Definitely factor in that your other half will get annoyed eventually as you will want to use it every time you’ve got nice weather. He or she would probably love the food that comes out of it, but might moan why you have to spend every weekends on cooking on it. It definitely needs some practice as everything, mostly if you are, unlike me, unfamiliar with the smoking cooking method. YouTube is your friend though. My first attempt wasn’t exactly a success, I had to finish up the ribs in the oven, but now that I understand how to use it and how to read the in-built thermometer, not a single complaint has been received. Every smoking/cooking site will tell you that you need to have another thermostat, something you can stick in the meat…may be so, but I’ve never used one, but with practice and the in-built one I know when the food is ready and how much the internal temperature means. I have smoked massive ribs, baby back ribs, brownie with bacon, mac and cheese, steak, salmon, sausages, back-bacon with it, and cooked with direct heat some burgers, vegies and steak. I have cold-smoked cheese which turned out great (cheddar, Gruyere, Red Leicester – do not recommend the latter though). The venting system is pretty good and really helps controlling the heat. I always keep a tray of water in the cooking chamber for better heat distribution.
All in all, I’d say it is more than worth buying it, as it will be suitable for any low and slow style cooking as well as traditional grilling, or cold smoking, just make sure you do your research online before you start cooking. And it is up to you how long it will last, many years if you clean it properly and look after it, only a few years if you neglect it.
Love this bbq
This is a really good barbecue and smoker. For the price it is really good and the smoker works well.
Barbie
Was brilliant only problem no drip catcher had hook etc but no po
Great BBQ
Arrived within two days, definitely a 2 person job to put together but very sturdy when made.
Five Stars
Very pleased with the BBQ and speed of delivery from ordering date.
A good smoker. I improved mine with heat gasket around the lids, re[aced the lid thermometer with an upgrade and with heat resistant mastic, sealed the joins of the firebox to the main grill compartment. From what I have read all of the cheaper smokers seem to suffer with smoke and heat leakage, but for a few pounds and very little time mine is now smoke tight. Have now been using it for six weeks and have smoked two briskets and a pork belly with excellent results – slow cooked with heat consistent for over 7 hours and smoked with hickory and cherry chunks. Very pleased indeed
The smoker arrived the very next day (which was very quick!), it took around 40 mins to build by myself and is very sturdy. I waited to see what the bbq/smoker was like as we had 9 people coming round a few days later.
Upon lighting the charcoal I closed the lid to see if ( as others have said) it leaked and it did, everywhere! I didn’t hold out much hope at that point that it would smoke the meat.
I used hickory smoked wood and did, pork, brisket and chicken … I was looking for leakage and whilst I’m sure it was I could not see it. 8 hrs later we had beautiful pulled pork a tender brisket with burnt ends and a whole hickory chicken! After that I switched to the bbq section and cooked chicken wings, burgers, prawns, mushrooms etc … the bbq handled it all.
Am pleased that I bought this smoker, it did exactly what it was bought for and didn’t let me dow
BBQ King
Fantastic BBQ. Fairly straightforward to put together. Had friends over recently to give it a whirl and it did a great job. Really pleased with it.
Jolly nice.
Great choice for a first time smoker like me. Its biggest issues are smoking for a long time (no easy ash removal after 10 or so hours) and temperature control (its not electric and its not 1/4inch thick steel). I do love what I get out of it and it also doesn’t weigh 1/4 tonne!
Four Stars
Really pleased with the barbecue but the handle has broken and had to be fixed
eally great cover for the BBQ
eally great cover for the BBQ, has a cord at the bottom which prevents the cover from being blown away, even when very strong winds.
Ready for summe
Used our new smoker/grill this weekend. It was easy to use and did a great job smoking our filet steaks and a ham.
Decent BBQ/smoke
Good BBQ/smoker at price point, took about an 1.5hr to build and cooks well. Handle quality let’s it down a bit but used longer screws to sort it.
Great BBQ. High quality and easy to assemble.
Really pleased with this BBQ. Assembling it was a longish process but it all fitted well together and the quality is very good. Have used it a few times already and am very impressed. Great bit of kit. Haven’t tried the smoker yet.
Performs and looks like Stephenson's Rocket!
A birthday present for a BBQ-mad son. He reports that it’s now been on its maiden voyage and performed excellently.
Thank you – super fast delivery too.
Good Buy.
Does the Job, but a couple of lock latches to hold the hood down would do the trick.

A real easy to use smoker and cooks the meat well , a good purchase!

Sturdy Produc
Sturdy product, went together quite well, but you must follow the instruction sequence as in the leaflet. Hope to use the smoker this weekend.
Grea
very good, quick delivery, relatively easy to assemble. I have used it twice so far and is working well
Fantastic quality… You always worry something will be cheap but it’s not. There is plenty to assemble, the instructions are clear, you only really need a steady hand, power drill (or screw driver) and an adjustable spanner for about 10 of the bolts. Looks fantastic finish quality is great and item arrived within 2 days. I’m really pleased with it!

This is a great BBQ would really recommend it to everyone.
Solid constructio
Solid construction. Easy to put together. Can’t wait to use it. Would benefit from a simple cooking guide for using the different components, particularly the Smoker.
Five Stars
Hubby has used it twice and absolutely loves it, we are enjoying the food.
After wanting to build a smoker for a while but not having the time to do it, I thought I’d buy one to keep me going. It was a bit fiddly to build, but only due to trying to hold parts and screw them together at the same time. The instructions were fine to me, but would be easier if two people put it together, and it only took me an hour at most. The final part I only had one of the screws that was said to be needed and another type of screw left. This was easily overcome. The build quality is not bad for the price, the handles are a bit cheap but useable.
First attempt at smoking was surprisingly good, as a smoker it will need a bit of modification, mainly seals. Before next use I’ll be sealing it a bit more with some high temperature sealant. It will never be used as a barbecue, but as a smoker I can see some good use out of it, until I can build my own. One thing I did notice though was the temperature on the LHS was much higher and the food cooked quite quickly there. Maybe I’ll modify it a bit to disperse the heat better. The cooking grill is a good size, I managed to smoke 2 whole chickens, a large piece of lamb, about 20 good size sausages, belly pork and a pan full of beans on the grill and only used half the top rack.
