This Bissell spot cleaner is lightweight and easy to manoeuvre, but this doesn’t come at the loss of any cleaning ability. The attachments all work well, and it is good at cleaning even a fairly large area.

I’m sure I’m not alone in using this and then marvelling at how much dirt it has got out of what we thought were fairly clean carpets. It’s really quite scary – but in a good way. Definitely a five-star product.

I did find the machine a little larger than initially expected and a little intimidating at first glance.
However, it is very easy to set up and use. Absolutely brilliant for removing spot stains and messes.
With 6 cats in our house, there are obviously unavoidable accidents if one of them is unwell. This little gem managed to remove deep stains in a jiffy.
If you need to cover numerous stains or a larger area the tank will need refilling quite a bit. Although that is the only downside I can think of.
Gets rid of all the ansty odours as well – which an absolute must in our house

This carpet cleaner its exactly what we need because we have a puppy and its great when little accidents happens. Its nice that its already coming with some cleaning solutions. It is very easy to use and fill up with solutions. The dirt container which is under the machine its collecting dirty solution which is sucked from the carpet. The spinning brush in the front its makings so much difference and its collecting a lot of hair.

Its doing a very good job

Firstly this won’t clean a whole carpet, so don’t buy it for that reason. I got this to clean up small spills, and puppy accidents, and it does a great job. The battery life is also good. I have a full sized carpet cleaner. But this is great for accidents and spills

The carpet cleaner arrived safely, and it comes nicely packed inside a well-illustrated and premium looking retail box. Along with the cleaner you get a power cable and two trials bottles of carpet cleaning solution. Apart from needing an initial charge the cleaner was ready to go straight from the box.

The overall quality of the cleaner is very good, it seems durable and well put together, no issues there.

There are three buttons; one to turn it on, one for the spray function and one to enable the motorised brush. There is also a battery status indicator located just under the buttons.

It works well at cleaning carpets and its definitely a super convenient tool. You just pick it up, fill it with cleaning solution (it can be stored with solution still inside) and away you go. It’s not too heavy and the roller does do a good job, but I found it cleans much better when you apply some pressure and a bit of scrubbing motion, so after 5-10 mins of use you do feel a bit fatigued from it.

The carpet cleaner works much better with fresh spills or stains, if the stain has been there for a while I find it easier to remove with an upright cleaner or manual hose based carpet cleaner instead. Another thing I noted is that it always seems to leave the carpet fairly wet, even if you apply pressure, the suction isn’t great as you don’t even get close to the amount of liquid that you started with.

You get nearly 20 minutes of runtime from a single charge which is fine as its probably better to use a proper carpet cleaner if your spending long amounts of time cleaning the carpet, this is more for quick spot cleaning and being efficient.

It can only be used on flat, horizontal surfaces and its fairly bulky too so it wont fit under low coffee tables or under car seats, etc but its ideal for cleaning stairs or small mats.

The tanks and brush can be removed for cleaning and in general its very easy to maintain and look after.

Overall, I think for quick and easy spot cleaning it’s a very good tool to use as it gives good results and its very convenient, but you will still need a second cleaner to tackle tougher stains or bigger jobs, so its value is limited. My opinion is that I still prefer to use a portable cleaner or upright with a manual hose as it gives you more cleaning control and leaves the carpet dryer, but for speed and ease of use you can’t go wrong with this Pet Stain Eraser. It’s a product I’m happy to recommend and I feel fours stars is appropriate for it!

I’m very happy with this stain remover machine. It’s quite chunky looking but not as heavy as I expected so it’s easy to hold and use for a while on an area of carpet or sofa fabric for example. It’s straightforward to use and not too complicated to take apart to clean out the inside.
It is very useful for cleaning my sofas when my pets have been up to no good! Obviously it isn’t going to be able to deep clean old stains as well but for fresh stains it is very effective.
I hope you find this review helpful.

This isn’t a mains’ powered unit, so I’m reviewing this as an emergency stain cleaner/quick absorbent rather than a unit that will be used once or twice a year for a deep clean.

The kit comes with 2 bottles already included, so once you charged the battery out of the box (Came with around 50% charge), you’re ready to go.

Tested it on hard floor with a controlled spillage at first, results were great and the floor was almost dry (Hard floor is not the intended surface for this unit, this was just a test).

A 2 week old spillage on the carpet on top of the stairs was next, sprayed the stain, left it for a few minutes to soak through then ran this little devil over it. You can only see the stain if you knew about it now.

Because it’s compact, it’s incredibly easy to store without taking too much room.

Battery is the weakest point, but that’s the case with ALL battery operated devices, so I will just keep this fully charged after every use, ready for the next spillage.

Overall: At 129.00 at the time of reviewing, this is an excellent little emergency cleaner for anyone with pets or small children (Or even messy adults!), it will help you keep your carpets clean and fresh. Would definitely recommend.

The BISSELL Pet Stain Eraser is an excellent piece of equipment for quickly and easily removing stains from carpets and upholstery. And you don’t need a pet to make use of an effective stain remover – just ask any parent!

The unit is small and compact and takes up very little room to store in the cupboard under the stairs which is where I keep it ready charged for cleaning up quickly when needed. The fact that it is cordless makes it much less of a chore to use, and it seems to hold a charge well, so long as you remember it’s not fir doing your whole carpet- just spots and ‘accidents’.

The cleaner is very effective at removing stains and you can see lots of dirt being removed in the water — be warned though, it will probably shame you into wanting to clean your whole carpet — a job for which you’ll need a bigger cleaner than this! I used it early one evening and looked up to see a look I recognised all too well on my other half – so I was soon hiring a cleaner for the whole carpet as well. That’s not a fault, incidentally, it just means this little device is really capable as a cleaner. Me, well, not so much!

The Bessel cleaner takes 4-5 hours to charge up and the charge lasts around 20 minutes. Some other reviewers have complained about the short running time but, if you are really only using it to spot clean, then the run time is fine. You can do a lot in 20 minutes (I’ve been told that many times as well)

Two trial-size bottles of BISSELL Pet Stain and Odour cleaning solution and Oxygen Boost are included in the box with the cleaner which is a really thoughtful touch and means you can get straight on with using it once it’s been delivered. Amazon sell bottles of the cleaning fluids and they are pretty reasonably priced as well. The cleaner is also very straight forward to operate -there is an instruction leaflet included, but if (like me) you just tend to dive in and get started, well it’s fairly clear what goes where and how to use it.

At just under 130, this cleaner is priced similarly to other spot cleaners. It might seem a bit expensive when compared to some full-sized carpet cleaners which don’t cost that much more but you are paying for the convenience of using something that is much smaller and lighter, is cordless and is really not that much of a hassle to set up and put away when you’ve finished.

It also does a good job of removing stains and gives you confidence that your carpet/sofa has been cleaned when you see the dirt that has been removed.

I can recommend this completely. But you might (like me) end up cleaning your whole carpet as you’re ashamed of how dirty it actually seemed to be

    Hassle-free – effective cleane

It was quickly dispatched and arrived promptly, been fully charged and used a couple of times.

Compact yet effective, suits my small home. Seems quite good quality, lightweight, only 2KG. Very clear safety usage instructions, easy to use and like the fact it’s cordless.

Suction might not be as powerful as the spot cleaner it’s replacing, but there’s no hoses to split or get full of muck. Noise level is fairly acceptable.

Ideal for cleaning up pet accidents and wine spillages, etc, Keeping the house clean and fresh from dog mishap’s without much noise or fuss. I actually use it to clean my van too, works very well, can get in and around all obstacles , nook and crannies.

Small but powerful, So far doing what it’s supposed to, I’m impressed with that.

This is really well constructed, the instructions are a bit brief but it’s striaghtforward to use.
A couple of sample fo carpet cleaner are enclosed, and after charging it’s straighforward to use.
It cleans well – we have two cats and a dog and it’s been used to clean up sick so far.
It does a nice job, like its larger siblings.
The waste tray has a black tab that allows you to drain it without getting dirty waste water over your hands.
Only drawback is that it lasts about 20 mins on charge and cuts out without much warning. This is failry common with these hand held devices.
    Very useful.

After reading some of the reviews, I didn’t have high expectations.

Initially I thought I was correct to have low expectations – the “Formula” fill line on the detergent mix bottle is missing on my unit so I didn’t know how much formula to water to use (see photo) and ended up having to use guesswork.

In use however the cleaner impressed me and massively surpassed our expectations: it lifted stains from the carpet that have previously resisted elbow grease and hand washing stain removal. We had given up on these stains as being a lost cause. These aren’t just pet stains but rather sticky tar like residue based unidentifiable marks that have been there for a couple of years.

Or at least they were there for a couple years: within two minutes of using the Bissell Pet Stain Eraser, the stains had gone – some of them completely and some of them partially (90%) but leaving such a faint signature that I wouldn’t know they had ever been there.

I’ve provided some photos but, sadly, didn’t take a photo of the biggest stain – about 6 inches square – because I didn’t think that the Bissell Pet Satin Eraser would clean it. It did – and nothing else we have tried including specialist hand pump stain removal sprays has managed to touch it. Same with some old red wine stains. Gone.

The cleaner has done an excellent job on car seats, removing not just chihuahua trodden mud but also little (and big) human stains resulting from dropped and greasy food. I’ve added some before and after photos.

The suction isn’t as good/powerful as a mains powered unit but it would be unfair to expect this battery powered machine to buck the laws of physics. It does a good job of removing the worst of the damp and the dirt chamber does catch an impressive amount of dirty water, hair and muck.

It isn’t a particularly heavy unit to carry but in use and after a few minutes I do feel the hand strain. I’m physically fit and so if if my hand starts to feel tired I suppose that some other people may struggle more. However, it is mostly on tougher stains where more pressure is needed to clean and to suck up the water that this is an issue. On my indoor carpets I didn’t notice it. When cleaning my car seats I did notice it.

The rotating brush function works very well. The brush is turned on automatically when the cleaner is turned on. The brush can be turned off by pressing the brush button – the brush function light then turns off – and only the suction function is then active. The brush is surprisingly soft and yet effective. It hasn’t upset the material either on carpet or the car set coverings.

The spray button is electronic and so only has to be pressed lightly for a constant stream of detergent to be emitted. The coverage is a cone shape that gives a very good layer over a fairly wide (but not too wide) area and so there’s no need to fiddle about with ensuring good coverage.

Cleaning is easy: remove the detergent bottle, then the plastic cover protecting the entrance to the dirty water bottle, then release the brush roller and then empty the dirty water bottle.

It is very surprising how much gunk is collected from a few spot cleans. We vacuum the carpet every other day so it’s not a case that our carpet is full of dog hair. The ability of the brushes and the battery powered suction to lift dirt that isn’t visible to the eye is scary.

I’m not sure how much of the impressive cleaning power is due to the detergent mix. Two small sample bottles (238ml) of “Oxygent Boost” and “Pet Stain and Odour” remover are included. 15ml of oxygen boost is required per bottle, then tap water and then top up with a larger volume of “Pet Stain and Odour” remover – the fill level for which is missing from my cleaner detergent bottle. The Bissell cleaning fluids are fairly expensive but, to be honest, the cleaning power is impressive enough to justify the cost.

I don’t like the fact that the on/off button is the small button to the left of the control panel. I have fairly regularly pressed the spray button when I have meant to turn the device off thus spraying detergent in areas I didn’t want to. It’s a case of practice I think but the on/off button isn’t in the most intuitive position.

The battery isn’t long lasting – about 15 minutes or so of use on one full charge although I do tend to use the motorised brush possibly more than is required. I like the fact though that the cleaner delivers good power to both the brush head and the suction pump and I would prefer more power and less time per charge than lower power and more time per charge.

This isn’t going to allow me to clean a whole carpet. It has though already allowed me to do far more than spot cleaning pet stains: large carpet stains (6×6 inches), car seats and other long standing stains that we thought were unmovable have been lifted at least 90% in the worst case. Most of those stains can’t be blamed on the dog and so this cleaner does far more than remove pet stains.

It is a very impressive cleaner and although the suction isn’t as powerful as mains powered devices, the benefit of easy mobility including car seat cleaning without having to run a cable is a worthy trade-off.

I would definitely recommend this cleaner and it may even prompt me to buy one of Bissell’s mains powered carpet cleaners.

    Pros:

    – very good stain lifting power that definitely goes very far beyond pet stains
    – easy to operate with light press electronic spray button
    – easy to understand functions (on/off, spray, and roller)
    – fairly gentle automatic rotating brush that seems to have respect for fabrics
    – cleaning solution does have a very clean and fresh smell especially noticeable on car seats
    – good amount of power for a battery powered device although shorter battery life per charge
    – easy to clean but definitely needs cleaning after every use because of the high amount of gunk picked up
    – UK customer service number printed in instruction booklet (0344 number)
    – clear safety usage instructions and also clear warning labels on cleaner about storage and cleaning

    Cons:

    – my detergent bottle was not labelled with the “Formula” mark as it should have been
    – instruction booklet uses pictures not words but safety guide is written very clearly and detailed in English
    – not heavy but can cause a tired hand on fabrics that require compression such as foam car seats
    – requires detergent bottle to be removed for hanging up rather than laying flat (not really a problem)
    – battery gives about 15 minutes or so use on a full charge with high use of rotating automatic brush
    – button positioning of on/off button could be more prominent
    – Bissell cleaning fluids are not cheap

Surpassed expectations and lifted very tough stains

Surprisingly hefty, nonetheless this is a good little device for cleaning carpets if you haven’t the space for a big upright or need to clean a little space. It comes with cleaning fluids, the pet stain remover has a nice smell to it, but you can mix in your own. I used an organic carpet cleaner in it to good effect. You just need to be patient when hoovering up the fluid again so that you aren’t left with wet patches, and need to push down when going over where you’ve applied the fluid. It charges up quite quickly too.

This review is for the BISSELL Pet Stain Eraser Handheld Carpet Cordless Spot & Stain Cleaner | 2982E, Titanium/Black/ChaCha Lime.

This is a nice little device. Arrived well packaged and was easy to setup. Concept is simple, it’s used to clean small patches of carpet. It is easy to use and actually works really well. I have short pile carpet but I’m not sure how it would work on thick pile.

2 days after it arrived our cat came in with his muddy feet and left footprints all over our rug. This gave me a great opportunity test this out. Happy to say prints all gone. Would recommend.

Is a good well known quality brand.

Firstly for the price of this item and for the limited cleaning you can do , you have to ask yourself how often you would use this device. If you have a puppy that isn’t toilet trained, or young children who tend to spill stuff then this device would suit you. if you only get the odd accident every now and then cheaper to clean by hand.
It is a good cleaner and take away the hard work of scrubbing by hand and you do see the dirt coming out of the carpet (i tested it on a patch where my dog had been sick and it cleaned up nicely without me getting my hands and cloths dirty).
It comes with a charging cable (it’s cordless) and some cleaning products, though i suppose you could use your own carpet spray cleaner and some water once.
This is only for small stains, no good at cleaning a whole floor.

Having 2 young children, this handheld stain vacuum is a life saver. We’ve had all sorts of accidents. Food, drink and bodily spills. I’ve been able to use this on my sofa to get rid of stains that have been there for a long time. Including pen. And it has worked. My sofa looks good as new now.

It was very easy to set up and operate. The instructions were easy to follow. It was simple to charge and got to work right away but after that use it required a long time to charge up again before next use. Quite a powerful little thing for the small stains. Very happy with this item.

The device arrived in a box from Amazon that was unnecessarily large and had some paper packaging that didn’t really do much. The compact box from Bissell was wrapped in clear plastic. Inside, at each end, two pre-formed cardboard packaging cartons held the two 8 ounce plastic bottles of formula and also doubled as protection. One of the bottles was the Pet Stain Remover and the other was Oxygen Boost. There was also a charging lead, a 12 page instruction manual with 29 languages on the cover (but there were only diagrams with no text inside) and a four page booklet of safety instructions in English and Arabic. Each of the formula bottles had a small, 20 page, leaflet attached but not in English. There was information in English on the bottles themselves.

The device itself was inside a plastic bag and had stickers reminding the user to read the instructions, a helpline number, and instructions about the use of the Staineraser.

There are no parts to assemble so it just had to be charged up using the cord supplied and loaded with water and the formula. It was very easy to use and was comfortably held in one hand. The biggest problem I had with it is working out how much of the formula should be used. The instructions are not clear and eventually I emailed the helpline and did get a very quick response. Unfortunately the response was for another model so I had to email one more and, again, I had a very prompt response. The answer was that 15mL of either formula could be used in the reservoir and then water added.

Removing and adding the two reservoirs, one for clean and one for dirty water, is easy. As is removing the brushes for cleaning.

It appears well made and robust.

To be honest the carpet I cleaned didn’t have any obvious stains but the water in the dirty water reservoir was decidedly dirty. I do believe it would do a good job of cleaning up after a pet and would recommend it as it is probably easier than soaking and dabbing with baking soda, vinegar, washing up liquid etc.

Apart from the uncertainty of how much formula to use, the only downside to it is that it leaves the carpet wet.

Good value? That probably depends on your finances and how often your pet has an accident on the carpet.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have a couple of cats at home, with one who’s getting up there in terms of age. That’s leading to the accidents we’re all used to with very young, or old, pets. This product is a lifesaver – it’s easy to use, nice and portable with the cordless function, and works great on the stains pets produce on carpet, upholstery etc.

It’s not right for deep, embedded stains (BISSELL do a bigger, corded product for that), but for those day-to-day stains it works really well. The battery lasts around twenty minutes which is far more than I’ve needed.

Would definitely recommend for cleaning of pet accidents or small spills.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is a wonderful product and looks fantastic. It comes with two of the stain remover bottles as shown in the pictures which makes the package particularly good too but for the price, the battery life is awful.

It’s literally designed for you to remove a small stain otherwise you’re out of charge with another 4-5hrs charging. Bit of a disappointment as I wanted to use it across the sofa and then go around the carpet upstairs almost as if it freshen it all up.

Following the instructions though it does work very well indeed and it’s easy to use providing you follow the steps!

    Awful Battery Life
