The DJM Direct Deluxe Timber Loft Ladder with insulated hatch is a 3 section folding attic ladder which requires no headroom or storage space in the loft. Draught excluder contained in casing and white trapdoor with 20mm insulation prevents loss of heat and draught. Non slip treads for extra security. Specially developed height adjustment system. Ladder assembled for easy and quick installation.

The trapdoor is made of HDF plate and very robust with thickness of 20mm insulation. The spares of the 3 part ladder are made of pine, the steps are very hard beach wood. Ladder to the attic with comfort and safety a dovetail connection, this staircase is constructed in very high quality ensuring safety at every turn by the ribbed steps.

Found it was easier to detach the hatch and fit just the outer frame first, then re-attach the hatch hinges, and make sure it is all square, before mounting the ladder on it. Needs two pairs of hand for some of the job, but less so if you do it this way. I wouldn’t have liked to have had to lift it all into place fully assembled, as suggested in the instructions, as it would have been very heavy.
3 Shredded wheat needed for breakfast before you tackle getting the springs in place though; they are very strong…!
Cutting the ladder to length was simple enough, but remember the old saying: “measure twice, cut once”…! Luckily I did, and I got it right first time.
Good quality product all in all. I am a little unsure the securing latch will last as it seems a little flimsy, but time will tell.
Bought this ladder to make it easier to access our loft space, good product for sure once fitted but trial and error to get the unfolded stair correct. That said you can’t expect any loft ladder to be just right for your ceiling height and this one allows for most situations. It’s really easy to open and close and is draught free when closed, storm Eunice a good test for that feature ! The opening in my ceiling had to be lengthened to accommodate the bigger trap but no big deal and widthways a perfect fit. Make sure you keep everything square and level and you can’t go wrong, we dismantled and removed the ladder to fit the frame but only 4 bolts to remove and re-fit, easy but 2 handed. Would recommend and would buy again. Sturdy in use and now my wife even ventured into the loft for storage , result !
I installed this ladder on my own. Very well constructed and easy to install with the right preparation. Easy to follow instructions for those a little unsure.
Delivered without hutch and was as described- easy to install
Relative easy instructions to follow although we did go on YouTube. We started by fitting the frame followed by the hatch lid and finally the ladder. The springs were the hardest part to fit. Let down by the lid not being flush with the frame because of the rubber seal and an eye in the hatch the allow it to be pulled down which isn’t shown in the product photos.
Makes the hatch on landing much better to look at . Does need 2 people to install even if second person is female ( not discrediting females ) but it is a bit heavy but does look good once installed

Good quality easy to use install was reasonably easy. Read instructions and check out YouTube first. Down side really needed an extra person just to open the loft as you needed to be in the roof space to fit the springs. Otherwise overall a good quality piece of equipment.
Due to illness didn’t unwrap item for a few months and found damage to the underside of the hatch ( approx 2″ crack ), repaired this and fitted to loft, works fine. Damage looked to have been done in transit, overall happy with sturdiness etc of this loft ladder.
