Robust is a term I would use when describing the Minky Ergo Plus.
Works very well and the under-rack is useful for the steam reservoir.

A 100% upgrade what you already have and if it is a cheap ironing board in price match 20-40euro. This one is actually huge so mind the space it will take if you dont like to fold it and put it away :). Only downside when I recently bought mine was delivery. I am a prime member and delivery is always max 2 days. Also this one included prime delivery, but it ended up arriving after 12 days with UPC, and not after 2 with amazon prime van. Other than that it is a must have in this price range. Very sturdy board!

Delivered, taken off bubble wrap, not even taken off plastic wrap and already noticed that the cover has been ripped.. so disappointing, other than not a bad ironing board

    A little disappointed

Not as easy as you think getting a new ironing board, took me ages to do my homework. Wanted something sturdy but light weight but very happy with this one.
My only very small gripe is that it slides if it’s not on carpet, could do with non slip grips.

Bought this to replace a heavy, awkward ironing board. Very pleased, big enough for large items and stores neatly away in cupboard. The cover was very stylish, and the ironing board is very easy to fold away.
    Highly recommended.

Minky really do know their stuff when it comes to well built equipment and cleaning accessories.

We can’t fault this item, it just works and well.

Not the cheapest but you definitely get a quality item for the money here.

The ironing board itself us great. Sturdy, easy to fold, strong. The problem is the part attached at the top end where you put the iron to rest in between pressing. It takes up far too much room. The iron I purchased does not sit securely in it and to be honest if I could have it removed I would. Other than that it is a really good ironing board. Would I purchase again? No, not with the iron rest attachment. Yes if that wasn’t there.

This is an amazing Ironing Board. I thought, until I got this, that an ironing board was just an ironing board; no big deal. But this one is so much bigger than my old one, yet much lighter. It also stands higher (I was slightly hunched over the old one and that takes it out of after a while!) and the height adjustment is infinite, you can set it at whatever height suits you and you’re not limited to the 4 or 5 preset notches on the legs of an inferior board. I like the iron cord guide, too. No more waving the iron around trying to untangle the cord! All in all, I love it!

Good ironing board and strong. Wider than my previous one, so I get the ironing done quicker now. The pattern on it does make me thing I still have creases in the clothes but got used to that now. The only downside was, it took nearly 4 weeks to deliver to me!

I recently bought this after my Mother ruined my old one. I love it! The clip on the side keeps my cord from becoming frayed and getting stuck. It’s lightweight yet very sturdy and is easy to put up/down. The cover is lovely and doesn’t ‘bunch’ when ironing like ones I have had in the past.
I would absolutely recommend this ironing board.

The board is very lightweight and so easy to fold and unfold;, I would have preferred a thicker padding though, it feels like I am ironing on the metal of the board. Having said that its great for the sheets. Overall I think it is a bit expensive for what it is.

Brilliant ironing board, folds really flat for storage and is lightweight but sturdy. Powered through large pile of ironing as the cover is not slippy and seems to iron both sides of garment ( if that makes sense) thought it was a bit expensive but glad I paid more than usual as it’s worth it. Would highly recommend.

Lovely ironing board. Came well wrapped. Could do with them having abit of a thicker cover on as you get the imprint of the metal on your thinner clothes. Very sturdy and easy to put up and down. Love that you can have it half way as I suffer with back pain so like to sit sometimes. Very happy.

A very good light ironing board which arrived without one rubber foot, making it unstable. Minky Customer Services needed proof of purchase and photographs of the problem. After this was sent, they said a new foot would be sent. Two weeks later, it had not arrived. Amazon were first class, replacing the product and collecting the old one. Cannot praise Amazon enough. Should have gone there first but you would think it would be easy to just get a replacement foot?

The ironing board is excellent – as one would expect. What isn’t so expected perhaps is the level of customer service I received having experienced what I am sure is a rare occurrence, that is a (slightly) damaged unit on delivery, an unfortunate thing.
Within days not only had Minky rectified the situation, they had done so far beyond what I would normally accept from a company.
I would thoroughly recommend this ironing board, but more I would highly recommend this company for its customer service. Very pleased all round.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAlthough I purchased this in January 2021 I did not dispose of my old one until February. I am a single male with not a lot of ironing so my comments although a bit delayed were relevant at the time of first use and still apply after nearly 4 months.
The packaging for this was a bit poor as it arrived with the rubber feet protruding through the poly film and it had obviously been stood on the feet quite frequently during shipping which had ‘scuffed’ them quite badly, I did not consider this enough reason to request a replacement but the makers/distributers should think about improving this area of the packaging.
It is a good looking board and as such I had wanted one for some years so I treated myself.
The board is good and wide and both the length and iron cradle are excellent. The adjustment is very simple and easy to use whilst being positive and firm. Overall I like the whole design but there is one thing that other buyers might like to know, and one issue that I think is a real weakness in the design.
A). When used for the first few times the powder coating gets stripped off the adjustment bar (see photos). On the first couple of uses I found a combination of metal/paint ‘shavings’ on the floor beneath the board and could not figure out what it was. It was not until the third time of use that I investigated and I realised that they had come from the adjustment rod. These ‘shavings’ could be a hazard for a child that might pick them up and try to eat them. In fact there is no reason to paint this rod, it would be better if it was masked out during the coating process.
    B) The second issue I have which others might live with, is that the quite thin metal the board surface is made from ‘cockles’ upwards under prolonged heat in one place. I found this when ironing several hankies in the same area, then it ‘clonks’ back to its normal flat position after a few seconds of cooling. It’s a bit like a large scale version of those old tin toy ‘clickers’ that were popular some years ago. I find it a bit annoying and question if a thicker metal would be more in keeping with the quality of this board? It’s fine with sheets and larger items as you are spreading the heat as you iron. Thicker metal would put the weight up but it is quite light for its size/quaity.
Would I buy one again? yes, as the overall design takes some beating but it is not perfect and would be close to it if the issues I have highlighted were sorted out.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS ON THE METAL TOP SINCE ABOVE. (11/8/21)
In fact after using the board for a few months I find the ‘cockling’ of the top even more annoying, also what I had not fully realised is that it is in fact a ‘gauze’ so as well as distorting under heat it also allows steam which tuns into water under the garment you are ironing to leak through so after a lot of ironing I found a damp patch on my carpet. I assume if it was solid metal and not gauze this would cause trapped water to rust so no easy solution but it is a little annoying as I now have to put a towel on the floor under the board area!

Looks great, great size, easy to erect/fold away but has flaws! Shame as it is close to perfect.

Only downside was, there was a small hole on the cover fabric, I rang costomer service and they managed to refund me the cost of a new cover that I was able to purchase on Amazon. Had the ironing board for over a month now, and happy with it!

    Love mine!

Meh I didn’t expect to pay this much for a non premium non budget ironing board, the handle seems to be on the wrong side for somebody right handed, it’s very narrow at the end and isn’t that padded…. That said it gets the job done.

Spent some time looking for a British made ironing board and found this; took a punt. It is solidly built, fully adjustable and expect it to last years and years and years. The corollary to that is of course that is is no light weight so don’t expect to tuck it under one arm and wander around with it… I recommend it.

I expect ironing boards to last for years. not come apart at the spot welds like the one I just threw away after less than two years of use.

This one is really well- made; its sturdy, firm, a pleasure to use and looks like it will last forever.

But I need to add that some might find it rather heavy to move around.

Hi! I had my refund and when I sent it back due to missing plastic cover for one leg, I was advised to use recorded delivery which costed me 16.62 but only received up to 5 back on top of the full price for the board. I don’t think it is ok. I would have preferred for the part to be sent to me rather than doing the return business as I don’t often return stuff. This is disappointing because I am 10 down without being my fault.

After I saw a view reviews of bad experience that people have had, I thought I’d bite the bullet and get it anyway. I’m glad I did. The sizing is great, its easy to close and up and to use it to iron. The reason I give it 4 is just because there is one leg that doesn’t quite touch the floor so the board wobbles. But after I started to iron it, I didn’t even notice the wobbling. It didn’t affect my ironing so its an a-okay item for me

Terrible delivery though. It was a different company delivering for Amazon (Hermes UK Ltd). They didn’t ring the door (we were home) and left the package outside of the door. Light but very sturdy. The shelf supports the tank for my iron without difficulty. The board is a lot longer than my previous board so sheets, etc are easier to iron. I love the fact that it doesn’t have a fixed height and is easily adjustable for people of different heights. Only downside is that the steam from the iron turns back into the water, goes through the mesh of the ironing board and on to the floor. This is easily solved by putting a cloth under the ironing board but probably wouldn’t be noticed if I had carpets.
I am pleased that this one came in a box as I had to return the previous one which was wrapped in plastic and arrived damaged.

Like a number of other reviews here, the item wasn’t as sturdy as it could have been. When unfolded it rocked between opposite corner feet. This was easily resolved by every so slightly twisting the back legs. It now sits flat and doesn’t rock at all.

Seems ok for what it is.

As a last plus point I love that they still manufacture it in the UK unlike the German branded products that are poorly made in china. After putting up with a cheaper, manually folded small ironing board that was feeble, I upgraded to this. It I big! Not too big, but a decent size meaning that you can iron more at once. The cover is good – a nice thickness to it. I like the folding mechanism – very easy to use. And adjustable – as when fully unfolded it can be on the high side. The rack on the side is perfect for managing the coat hangers too – a little thing that makes more of a difference than you would think! I would definitely recommend it. I was expecting to pay a lot more than this for an item like this.

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersReceived this today and have already used it. It was bought to replace thirty year old board. I had just purchased a steam charging iron and felt is deserved a new board! Both of these have made ironing so much quicker and smoother. Delighted with this board at a very reaonable cost. Its not the lightest but you need a certain amount of weight in anironing board and it is considerably lighter than the old one. The iron rest is good ergonomically. I took to it straight away. Also I can put it into a much higher position than my old one and as I’m quite tall this is helpful. Its also a good size, allowing you to iron a bigger surface at one go. I would recommend this board. Its good value for money.

Golden Review Award: 37 From Our UsersFinally, the item arrived this afternoon. I had to connect to Amazon via a chat to get the couriers to use the SATNAV to get to my address and deliver the item. I am so pleased with the service I got from Amazon and I am pleased I persisted in getting this item delivered.

I am a 6-foot tall chappy, actually, fat old chappy, and the height adjustment works just fine and I can get the board to a very high and comfortable ironing position. I was worried about the board being stable, but unless you want to use the item as an exercise pommel horse, it is very stable indeed. Keep in mind I have no youngsters, cats or dog running around the house.

And unlike some other reviewers who had some bits missing, rubber feet, or bent legs, my unit was in a perfect condition when it was delivered. I am delighted with the unit, and my choice, happy camper indeed.

Thanks again to the excellent service from Amazon.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe had a cheap, compact ironing board. It was unsturdy, the cover was thin and cheap.
Then we replaced it with this.

This board has a lovely cover on it. It does heat up with the light reflection which makes ironing partners work shirts much more efficient. It’s a great size and has different height settings. Love the colour. Sturdy legs. I would happily recommend. The only thing that isn’t so great is the iron holder. Our iron doesn’t fit in there BUT I never use it anyway even on my old board.

The base is robust and heavier than I expected. If you’re planning on carrying this thing around, you should know that it is surprisingly heavy.

The surface is flat and wide. There’s a thin amount of padding there – I was expecting something thicker and more compressible.

    Hey, it’s an ironing board.

Lighter than my previous ironing board, quieter to put up than my previous ironing board, wider with a useful pointed end to get inside sleeves etc than my previous ironing board, mesh surface so the steam doesn’t blow back up, really good iron rest angled to switch the iron’s steam off, very firm and stable. I didn’t know how rubbish my old ironing board was until I bought this!

The only downside was the totally inadequate shrink-wrap plastic that was the only packaging protecting the board during shipping – not surprisingly perhaps, the first one delivered had a tear in its fabric cover. However Amazon’s next-day replacement and return pick-up made even this a breeze to resolve.

Golden Review Award: 59 From Our UsersThe iron board arrives in clear plastic wrap. Upon arrival be sure to inspect the iron board cover, as my one had a small amount of manufacturing damage to the stitching as shown in my picture. This was rather insignificant to me but may be of more importance to others, hence my recommendation and 4star review. Having opened the packaging and tested its practicality by ironing a small t-shirt with a stream iron Gen, I can confirm its wheels work nicely and altogether it feels very stable. Good buy whilst it’s on offer.

A beautifully designed iron board, shame about the loose stitching.

Unlike some of the other reviews, my purchase arrived next day and had all of the rubber feet in place (thank goodness!). The first thing I noticed, is this is a BIG ironing board. It replaced our previous, broken board but is much wider and deeper (with the fairly wide metal stand legs). The height clamp allows you to select any height which is rather handy.

Overall, good item although it doesn’t fit where the existing board did – No real problem though.

Golden Review Award: 61 From Our UsersThe issue of using an iron with a steam generator is now resolved by investing in this ironing board. The reflective surface and ergonomic design makes ironing much easier. Its shape invites a comfortable and easy sweeping action from side to side, for example making long sleeve double cuff shirt ironing quicker and less tiring. It is very sturdy with a large ironing surface and
so it is a little heavier than standard flimsy ironing boards but after you have put it up for the first time you learn the technique or erecting it without a problem. It also has an attractive design which invites you to use it rather than putting you off the task of ironing a week’s shirts and bed linen. Being so easy to use we set it up in front of the TV and the time flies by. Yes, such a simple thing as finding this practical household item has prompted me to write this recommendation.

Golden Review Award: 189 From Our UsersI took the cover off my old, cheap, not particularly cheerful ironing board, to wash – and discovered a horrid multitude of steamy sins. That ironing board was solid metal, with a few random holes, and coated with some kind of protective surface. And of course, we all use steam irons. So, where does the steam end up, which penetrates the clothes, the cover, any subsidiary cover and the like. Pooling and trapped on that protective surface that’s where. Not that the protection does that good a job. Lifting off my double cover I lifted off some horrid, plastic painty type surface, flaking from the board itself.

I did think (sigh) of buying another cheap board, but that too is only at some point going to add to landfill. The Minky has PERFORATIONS all over the base. Someone thought about where the steam might go, if it was trapped.

The board is bigger than I expected, when folded up – though the ironing board itself is as described, folded and vertical it is around 160 cm, not 122 cm! – so I did find I can’t store it where I had planned, and where that old board used to fit

It is quite hefty, so unless you have a dedicated utility room where it can be left set up, it may be a bit of a struggle for anyone frail .The opening mechanism is really good, and I can understand why it costs around 2 – 3 times the price of that old, very boggy (!) standard one

I was tempted to drop a star for incorrect item dimension, but I like it too much in action.

I decided to invest in an additional felt layer based on what other ironers were saying. My, it makes a difference

The cover is elasticated, and fits well, and can be removed for washing or replaced if damaged

Minky replacement covers, tightly elasticated are therefore an easier fit than those old tightening cords

I do like the fact it is made in this country and so buying it supports British manufacturing

I’m never going to enjoy ironing, but though a bad workperson blames their tools, I can already see a difference in my manky ironing now I have better tools!

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersWe’d had our previous ironing board for many years- but recently it started collapsing. I began to despise it. My Sunday night ironing session became more of a chore than before. But for about a month I refused to be beaten by it but it continued to collapse.
So I ordered this one and today I used it for the first time. It was a revelation. I did 10 shirts and 5 pairs of jeans. No problem.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI would not recommend buying this product online. If you look at other reviews you will see that several mention one of the rubber feet were missing. I thought surely this must have been fixed by now – wrong! I removed the packaging to find a rubber foot was missing. As one of the reviews said they went direct to Minky, I did the same and have finally received a replacement foot today. It’s a good product but I would suggest you buy in store so that you can check all rubber feet are in place.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersNow that I have used it for few weeks, I can say
    1. it’s wide and sturdy
    2. enough space to rest a hot iron
    3. good surface, firm supports
    4. tall enough to iron whilst standing watching telly and can be brought down to any height of your choice , remains stable !!

The appearance when you get is bit underwhelming as the print on surface later is so muted and those seductive blue lines in the photo just vapourise in disappointment!! if you get it a cut price, go for it. Not a good deal if you need to pay the marked price.

Brilliant. Bought this for my wife and she loves it. The bigger board means she can iron larger items much quicker and the cover itself seems to allow the steam to penetrate the clothes much better, and so not only does it seem much quicker to iron, the clothes look better. The loop is a simple but ingenious idea where you can put your wire. As my wife has a 3M wire, this loop prevents the wire from tangling. All in all a great buy and the best ironing board we have ever bought! Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThis board feels very solid, unlike my previous one, and represented good value for money.

It performs well… not a great deal to say about it really. My only gripe being that the cable clip isn’t very good. It causes the cord to bunch up as it can’t freely move through it. I therefore use the one that came with the iron instead which swivels.

Great ironing board. Being rather tall I enjoy how high this ironing board can stand. Its easy to collapse and stand as you would expect. The cover seems great so far, however it is a bit of a tight fit over the board and sometimes lifts at the end or the edges (hence 4 stars rather than 5), but this is only a minor grumble. Overall a good ironing board

  88. VirgilHuggard says:

It is much wider than my old one and feels more solid and stable but best of all its height is easily adjustable from a sitting position to a height suitable for any person over near to 2m in height. The shelf is excellent as is the cover. Only minor criticisms are the curious shapes for iron parking and cable rung both need a more thought.

Arrived quickly and really is a large board. More than big enough to do my tall husbands clothes on without shifting them around. Excellent product for the price.
only down side is that the caps on the end of the legs are a smooth plastic rather than rubber, it’s not an issue when the board is in use but I can’t stand it against the wall without it slipping down.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersA very sturdy ironing board! It’s a great board, just the right length and width. It is high enough for my 6″1″ husband to iron comfortably (very handy!!). It folds easily and I can carry it easily. The iron rest to the side is at an angle and does make it a little more ergonomic to pick it up. The steam unit holder underneath is also very sturdy. I’m really happy with it.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersItem arrived in 3 days, securely packaged. It is HUGE, nearly as tall as myself (5 ft.) but is surprisingly lightweight (presumably due to the mesh design) and as a bonus it remains closed when moving around, which is a real boon — my old ironing board was always trying to open itself spontaneously. Easy to open, just hold the lever to the side and open board to its fullest extent, then lower to your preferred height. Very smart design, iron has a stand with rubber protector and also a handy (and moveable) clip at the side of the board to hold the flex. Iron rest with silicone protector pads works really well, iron sits in the rest at an angle which makes it easy to pick up and put down. Board tapers nicely at the end (hence it’s extra length), which makes ironing shirts, even with the button still done up really easy. Makes ironing (almost) a pleasure — highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersJust used for the first time and they are no good on wooden or tiled floors. They just slid all over the place. However as soon as I put on a rug it was stable and solid and didn;t move. I have been using a really small ironing board which was hopeless for doing bedding and these are a great size, not too big for storing. My iron sits nicely at an angle in the holder and there is no chance of it falling out. There is a little clip that you can put the cord through to stop it getting in the way. All in all, really happy with my purchase and would recommend.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI had my previous board for over 25 years and reluctantly had to replace it when it started collapsing randomly.
First impressions of the Minky are it’s OK for the money. It’s a decent size but feels slightly cheap and unstable. The cover feels very thin and has minimal padding. The holder for the iron is not suitable for my iron and causes it to discharge steam when placed in it.
In hindsight I would have spent a bit more, and have retained the packaging as I’m still not convinced of it’s durability.
*December 2014* Having used for several months I’m very pleased with it and have upgraded to 4 stars.
