Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a good, light weight leash for our small furball! Extends and retracts easily and the lock is a great feature to keep control of our 6 pounds of cuteness and fluffiness. The handle is a little small but we wanted something suitable for little squishy so that’s OK. A larger dog may be harder to control as you can only get a three-finger grip on the handle.

The six foot leashes are a little short to take your dog out to potty. This allows the flexibility to let them have some additional space for doing their task but allows the owner to keep them safe. Love this!

It’s a good sturdy leash but the locking mechanism is awkward. Need to push up. Otherwise decent leash.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is my go to leash. I bought 4 so far. Tried others of similar price and they broke or make weird sounds like it’s going to break after a month or two. My dog is only 35 lbs and I buy the 100 lb leash. It lasts me about 7-10 months that’s walking my dog everyday for 30-40 minutes.. It could probably go longer but I don’t want to take a chance. The old ones are still good and I keep them around as backup. My dog is a puller and also I let him run around attached to the harness.

Decent leash; does not tangle easily and it is lightweight and retracts and spools out reliably. On the negative side, the locking mechanism is a bit cumbersome and does not consistently unlock when pushed.

I have a 120lbs pitbull, he’s good on the leash and doesn’t pul. We decided to try a retractable leash so he can explore more on our walks without having him without leash. The handle is comfortable to hold and the button is durable and doesn’t get stuck.

Basic use for small dog. She went pulling into the street and naturally I tried to stop her, the leash snapped much to my shock! Thankfully she didn’t go running and I snatched her up. Something must have been wrong with my leash so they sent me a replacement. Good customer support.

This is the second one. First lasted a good while. This one seems to not roll in and out quite as smoothly as the first. I like the product. So nice to not get tangled in a leash.

I like it a lot for the price. The quality is decent but not the best..for the size,it should have a larger/thicker/wider leash for the size dog it is rated for. My dog is a lab mix and she can accelerate VERY quickly. I have had to push the button to slam the brakes on her. The leash has held up since I received it a week ago, but I don’t know how long it will hold up to such a strong dog. Also if your dog is a chewer they will chomp through the leash in a very short time.
    For the price it’s decent.

These are great leashes for taking my small dogs (9 and 12 lbs) on walks together. The size and shape of the handles allow me to comfortably hold one in each hand. The lock is easy to use and works quickly and securely, allowing me to quickly gain control of my dogs’ movements, if necessary. This specific leash length is perfect for my pups, as they are both seniors and one is tri-pawed. They walk at a leisurely, relaxed pace and don’t need more than a few feet of extra leash. This leash length gives them enough room to “stop and smell the roses,” without getting too far away. I got exactly what I wanted in this leash.

Our 80 lb Great Pyreneese pup decided to run after a squirrel and the mechanism inside broke, the leash came off. She nearly caught the squirrel We’re ordering a second one. Hi told my son to hold it at the leash when he sees a squirrel in sight. He’s afraid he’ll get friction burn from the leash. I told him to wear a glove.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersNow let’s set this one thing straight; I’m a good dog and I actually don’t need a lead. My human bought this after coming back from one of our walks one day, during which he uttered several rude words every time my previous lead jammed.
I have to say the movement of the extending lead is very smooth and hardly audible and has none of the clack, clack, clacking the old lead had. The lead also has reflective stitching, which means even that manic cyclist who bombs down the tow path at night should be able to see us now (providing he buys some lights).
Orange is my human’s choice… orange everything, orange harness, orange coat, orange, orange, orange. Still, he does have good taste in dog treats and I always get a crisp when we visit this strange building that has lots of drinks for sale, where people just sit, drink and look at their phones. Honestly, I’ll never understand humans.

Really like that it’s light. The cable can tangle and have a knot but easy to fix. I’m new to using any lead so no comparison but it is quite silentish and does not drag pet back if accidentally unlock for withdrawal.
I gave only 4 stars for everything on detail purely because I have no experience to do comparison.
Addition: after using it for months I have to admit that majority of the time I’m struggling with the locking mechanism. It either stuck or when I think it is set it unlocks. Let me put it this way: I will not replace it unless it breaks but I will not buy it again.
The tape style string can burn your hand if your pet shoots out and you were holding it – but I don’t think it is a fault just mentioning in case you are tempted. I still do but now I know if that happens then I just let it go.

I’ve used up A LOT of dog leashes on my 2 spirited small dogs. This leash is like a magic wand with easy button operation to keep the little doggies under control. The spring mechanism works great to retract the ribbon and the clip mechanism is strong – good quality. I have purchased 3 of these things over the last year and they are definitely worth the $$$ for small dogs. I do not own a large dog, so I cannot comment about functionality with larger animals. But with the small little doggies, you will find yourself acting like a skilled marionette with the little pooches, making them move around at your very will. Great product, indeed. One very important ‘gotcha’ to consider: Avoid like the blazes allowing the ribbon to extend all the way out… if your animal is strong and decides to dart, or you try to yank the animal off the street and out of danger of, say, an oncoming car, the ribbon will break away from the internal catch. After that, the leash is permanently ruined… it is made with a sealed casing and cannot be repaired by the owner, at least from my tinkering with it. But, like I have mentioned, the overall quality is really outstanding. After my first one broke, I immediately purchased 2 identical replacements.

Aa far as retractable leashes go, I’ve found this one to be pretty much the best value for the money of all the retractable leashes I have purchased for my assorted dogs through the years– don’t be put off by the low price, this leash really is a quality product, and it has more than proven its worth with my latest dog, a truly hyperactive and excitable Boston terrier puppy, this leash has lasted almost three years before the line began to fray ( thanks entirely to the pointy little sharp puppy teeth applied to it on a regular basis by a (sometimes-teething puppy in leash training, meaning he was prone to constantly taking it up in his mouth his mouth and attacking it (keep in mind that a Boston terrier puppy tends to be a hyperactive, extra-rowdy little hellion, so if If this leash survived
for more than two years attached to such a mischievous, naughty and chew-happy puppy for so long, I’m sure it will more than survive use by almost any other kind of dog, regardless of breed or life stage. It took more abuse than any leash could reasonably be expected to take, including the many more-expensive options available on Amazon.

Works well, arrived promptly. It’s easy to use, lock etc. retracts without twisting which is great. I live in rainy weather, so if I take my pup out in rain, I leave it all out of the casing until it dries up. It’s fabric like nylon. So I don’t want mold to build inside the casing.
It has a reflective stripe on, so that’s a plus, but not necessary for us.
It feels light and flimsy but it’s not. However, my dog is medium 45 lbs, and does not pull a lot, so I don’t know how a stronger dog same size would do with it.
Locks and unlocks easy, and it’s not bulky to hold.
I needed a longer leash when taking out my pup as I have a non fenced yard and she’s a rescue wanderer so I couldn’t just “walk” outside with her. This works. I wish I had gotten an even longer one, cause I want to give her more “freedom”. But 16 ft works okay.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis allows my terrier mix and I to have significantly easier walks than the previous one-length leash I had.
I like to have him run as much as possible, to tire him out, and he changes his pace based on whether he’s distracted by something or how fast I am moving. It also gives me time to look back and see if he’s distracted by something before I accidentally tug on the leash and fall on my butt like when you forget your headphones are plugged in.

It attaches to any collar or harness you might already have.

Attached are pictures of the various positions the leash handle has and what they do:
-No thumb just lets the leash unravel or ravel freely, letting your dog choose the distance completely.
-Pushing down a bit lets you feel a little click, the position that allows you to keep the leash a certain length while you’re holding it in that position.
-Pushing it all the way down and forward locks the length of the leash and lets you just hold onto the handle. This has helped me when my dog randomly started biting people and I had to keep him on a very short leash at times. To take it out of this locked position, just push forward again and let it pop all the way back up.

I don’t know how I would survive bringing my support dog through the park and down streets without this leash.

GREAT for walks at different paces

The leash was exactly as it’s described. Hard to find fault. An excellent optio

The length is a good length and it’s easy to use. Attached to our cat harness no problem.

Looks nice, good Diane and smooth leash. I’ve had some trouble with the locking mechanism. It will catch and be unable to release. Later it will work itself out but is unpredictable.

I wanted to get a tractable leash that didn’t have a cord. My old leash kept getting wrapped around myself or other dogs and it wasn’t very safe. I really like that this retractable leash has a wider leash span. It’s also really sleek and sturdy. It is slightly tricky to lock. But that might be human error. It’s a pretty sweet return on value.

Well constructed. Easy to use, once you get familiar with the button functions. You might want to get used to it before you get close to any dangers. But once you get the hang of it, you will be very pleased with the quality and value.
