This is a nice big bag of grass seed.I got this as I had artificial grass at the front of my property near the roadbut because it was just laid onto of grass it was beginning to look horrible.
So when this seed came up I decided to take off the artificial grassI dug up all the weeds..and I was ready to go..
I got some top soilmixed some grass seed into it and threw it onto the strip that needed doing
After a week I began seeing little shoots..two weeks later.I could see a difference.three weeks later.wow.grass lovely green grass..
There are still a few little patches.but that’s to be expected as birds were eating the seeds.
But I have plenty left over to patch up and patches
This does require watering once put down to allow seeds to germinate.
    Overall..very pleased with resul

    Well pleased with result….

    As described and as advertised.

Good for overseeding to freshen up your lawn and help control weeds as well as suitable for new lawns.

Good clear instructions for both new lawns and overseeding in terms of weight needed per square metre.

DEFRA approved – though hard to validate this and unsure of what this actually means

Grown for UK conditions so should be suitable.

Germinates quickly – we are overseeding so it’s harder to tell germination rates but the weather is getting to good enough for new lawns as you really need >10 degrees Celsius.

No complaints but proof will be in whether overseeding as a noticeable impact!

This is a big bag of seeds, the instruction is clear. The seeds are easy to sow/spread. I have only just sown them so I can’t comment on the speed, but that’s always dependant on the condition anyway.
I don’t think it will grow at a miracle speed, but I am happy with these seeds.

We have a flower bed that we wanted to put down to grass for easier maintenance of our garden. The grass seed comes in a hard waring bag and is 1kg. My partner using the clear instructions on the packet sowed this grass seed over the aria we wanted put to grass. It just started to germinate so we will see how it grows in the coming weeks. I would say at the current price of 10.99 for the grass seed is about mid price range.

I don’t think the weather has been on my side as it has taken a fortnight before I have seen even the smallest of shoots start to grow.

Whilst I think this pack is good value for money, I think you need optimal conditions for this to be the ‘fast grass’ as advertised. I hope it is as hard-wearing as the product claims.

I like that the packaging is 100% recycled and could be recycled again with carrier bags. However, the bag is not resealable which I think is a shame because it makes it tricky to store if you haven’t used it all in one go.

Very clear instructions on the back, there is no real indication of how long you can expect the seed to take. After re-seeding an area and covering with netting, the weather was a mixed bag of sunshine and clouds. Despite regular watering, it has taken some time for me to see the results, but it is starting to look hopeful at last.

I would recommend this as a useful product have to thicken your lawn.

The seed comes well packaged, we used this in our existing lawn to give our lawn a boost, hard to tell yet as it is early days, but so far its good.

This is a great product, it works really quickly and has helped to restore my lawn. I used my old spreader in areas which had become patchy and those areas are now super lush.

I was not a fan of the packaging. It felt very cheap and not professional.
I put the seed down as soon as I received it and within 3 weeks I have grass. It will need more time to thicken out but it looks and feels great already.
I spread the seed in 2 different ways. One way is I throw it straight into my grass, and for larger patches I mix it with compost Then spread it. It seems to work well both ways.
The instructions are very good both in the packaging and in the listing.
We have clay soil so I’m Very impressed with the results so far.
My only negative is that it’s not easy to spread evenly, i scoop it in my hands and shake it. Where as a lot of other grass seeds comes in boxes with an applicator
    It’s good value.
    So far so good

Not a fan of packaging but seems to be working well

This is a simple bag of grass seed. The instructions are clear and it is easy to sow. I will update the review once they have started to sprout.

Simple grass seed easy to use

Seems like good grass seed to me. It arrived in perfect condition and the seeds intact throughout and consistent quality.
After two weeks I got the results shown in the image. I’m happy with the results. Especially as I didn’t actually prepare the ground as much as I should have and it is a shady area.

Quick to establish, must be resilient as it was a shady area

This GardenPrime Fast Grass Lawn Seed comes in a large 1 kg sized bag. Great for sorting out various patches and a new area going over to grass. We’re not green fingered but this is helping sort out the lawn. All the seed seemed good and of high quality.

I scarify my lawn in late autumn and usually have to over-seed it in places the following spring. Unfortunately, here in the north of Scotland this means around late April to mid-May as the soil temperature isn’t sufficient to obtain best results.

I’ve blended this lawn seed with organic compost and sharp sand to make my own top dressing and have only just laid it down. Interestingly, the suggested sowing rate with this particular seed is lower than average at only 35 grams per square metre for new lawns and 17 for over-seeding. Usually it’s 50 /25. It may take anything up to six weeks to germinate but what I’ve found is more important that germination speed, is the quality of the grass after a couple of months and having been mown a couple of times and its resistance to disease, particularly red thread fungus. In fact, the only time I’ve ever had grass seed germinate in seven days is after sowing it in a highly composted and fertilised bed, covering it with garden fleece and watering it daily.

So, I’ll update this review as the growth progresses and only then will I be able to report upon how successful it’s been.

Last summer I had a kids small paddling pool on the lawn, unfortunately, I was lazy and didn’t move it in time. The grass died off and left a bare patch. I removed the dead vegetation and sowed a good handful of this seed down along with a thin covering of compost. I was lucky enough to have a good warm spell in the weather, with plenty of sunshine on the spot. Within a week little tendrils of wispy green grass was sprouting and it only took a few weeks to cover the patch completely. I did use water which had grass feed added, so I don’t know if that helped too, but I was pleased with the growth rate. I cut the grass once, but went around the patch to give it a chance. It is now at a point where I need to mow it. The only reason I know where the paddling pool was is because the grass is a shade lighter than the older grass surrounding it, but I am sure it will balance out in time.

I was lucky with the ideal conditions to grow the seed, but I wouldn’t expect miracle speed germination from this or any other grass seed if you are in colder, darker areas. A similar patch I did on a north facing side that gets no sun didn’t grow as fast, but I also hadn’t been watering it as often as I did on the south facing side. Also, I did some over seeding in small dead spots where I have removed moss and the seed has yet to show itself.

Worked when planted in a patch, but less successful on overseeding

I have prepared the soil for the new lawn (area of around 18m sq, digged to a depth around 15cm and removed all the weeds), the rest was pretty straightforward, just poured the seeds all over and covered with a thin layer of soil and watered.

As the package contains 1kg of seeds, I decided to use the rest to thicker the existing lawn in my backgarden. Prior to the sew, I have done some preparations – moved the grass, which has uncovered a few patches of moss, which had to be removed. I’ve softened the tough soil with a rakes, then poured the seeds and spreaded some soil to cover the seeds.
Please note – if you’d leave the seeds uncovered, most probably the birds would have a treat, and the whole seeding would be for nothing.
I’m refreshing the lawns this way every 2-3 years and always got great results. Once the lawns will grow I’ll then update my review with new discoveries and new photos. So far all looks good, will have to wait 3-4 weeks for the effects.

    So far so good.

Spreaded all over my garden was easy to distribute it. Seems to be good quality. Will see in few weeks if it grows. Good value for money.

This grass seed is great, it quickly grows grass and is really simple to set up and put in the soil. Amazing and great if you want some more grass!
