I already had two 2Ah batteries from other Greenworks kit. This arrived in a box, not put together. It’s not too hard to build, remembering that the chain tensioner needs to go through one of the two holes in the bar. In the field, it cuts really well, although the bigger your battery the better I think.

Should also add, they do a 60V version now – I had 40V batteries so went for this one to save money – I think it’ll do the job for me.

No chain file is included – you’ll need to buy one. Also, keep the bag the chain comes in, so you can order new ones.

Now I’ve just got this so these are my initial impressions. Very easy to fit the blade and chain. Charged batteries each taking about an hour then to try it out. The 2 2Ah batteries chopped a reasonable amount of wood and kept me busy for around 45 minutes, but with an 1800w chainsaw an 80w battery is not going to last forever, but swapping the batteries and allowing them to cool did give each one extra life.

Far prefer to my petrol chainsaw but I’ll be looking at bigger capacity batteries.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis really is a great saw. Powerful, sharp and light to handle. However I have 2x2Ah batteries and this saw chews through these batteries quickly. However, it is a bit worse as the saw will stop even when there is 1 or 2 lights still left on the battery. It seems not to like it when the voltage drops below a certain point. No other greenworks tool does this. Even my mower will work right until the battery is fully dead. Is this a fault with my saw?

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have 4 acres of woodland to maintain and wanted something more lightweight and quieter than a standard petrol saw. After reading a ton of reviews I settled on the Greenworks. The 2 AH battery that comes with this lasts approximately 30mins cutting medium sized logs. I will certainly buying the 4 or 6 AH battery in future for a longer running time. Its easy to assemble and the built in chain tensioner is fantastic.

Some people commented the button is slightly small when wearing gloves but I’ve had no issues at all. For small runs, blocking and cutting firewood, its a great work horse. If you want to do something more then I think the bigger model is what you will be looking for.
