I can’t say enough good things about this game. My son and I played it together, and we both loved it. The graphics are amazing, the music is phenomenal, and it’s fun to play. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Le jeu est juste incroyable avec des musiques dans la thmatique du monde un peu sombre et triste.
Il a une trs grande dure de vie sans compter les dlc au nombre de quatre.

Ive played Hollow Knight on other platforms before and I love the game, wanted to get the hard copy for my switch because i've really been enjoying playing on the switch. Didn't expect this to come with an instruction manual AND a map of Hollow Nest. Both are adorable and I will be framing the map and putting it on my wall.

An absolute classic
An absolute recommendation for fans of metroidvanias. A stunning game with responsive and fluent controls, although some upgrades could have been started with. But beware the game can be quite difficult. Also a hard pass for people with arachnophobia.

Mais attention, pour ceux qui hsitent l’acheter, le jeu est difficile car pas du tout guid et les endroits de sauvegarde sont rares.

Trs bon platformer 2D, la mcanique die/retry est bien intgre dans l’univers du jeu.
Only complaint are the difficulties at times. Certain bosses can be very rough without a difficulty selection it can leave you dark souls level frustrated. I’d add that the bullet hell in this game can be pretty crazy at times. The lore, artwork, music, and fun game play are so awesome. Haven’t replayed a game this many time since Skyrim back in the day.

Finito in circa un 40 ore di gioco mi ha entusiasmato davvero moltissimo, il mondo incredibilmente ben fatto, gli scontri emozionano e ci si ritrova facilmente a non accorgersi del tempo che vola! Davvero un gioco must have!

First off, to those who aren’t serious gamers, know that there is a bit of a difficulty curve to overcome here and you’ll need patience and practice to make solid progress.
I was an avid gamer in my youth, loving games such as Metroid and Castlevania. Games that you can get lost in the world and really explore. I put games down in my adolescence and recently picked them back up in my 30s. It’s brought back so many found memories of my childhood and Hollow Knight has fed my nostalgia.
Hollow knight takes queues from the “metroidvania” genre and completely redefines open world exploration type games. The lore is expansive, the game mechanics are terrific. Did I mention it’s difficult, because it certainly is. So much so I almost put it down for good and I’m glad I didn’t.
If you feel like you’re stuck and it’s just too hard, give it a break and come back to it later. You’ll start to practice your technique more and more, especially on tough bosses and you’ll “git gud”.
The music is absolutely breathtaking and you’ll find yourself humming along to it as you play. Another sign of a solid video game.
Make no mistake, this game is an instant classic and will be played by generations to come.
I’m so happy I discovered this game and can’t wait for the sequel “Silk Song” to come out.
In the meantime, I’ll start a new game slot and rediscover the magic of the world of Hollow Knight.

This is a fun game with a lot of story elements built in that will provide a good number of hours of luxury amusement. I haven’t quite completed yet, but it seems like the sort of game that you could replay a fair number of times if you wanted too.
Game style (for anyone not familiar with the term metroidvania is a side-view of the main character, able to progress up/down/left/right through a variety of different interconnected regions, with stuff to find, plot-elements to uncover, bosses to fight in a non-linear order, etc.
Hopefully someone finds this useful, so I haven’t wasted my time. 🙂 Oh… and excellent background music!
This game has become one of our top 5 favorites. Beautifully designed, fun lore, wonderful music, exciting characters and challenging. If you are looking for a new game to get addicted to, I highly recommend this one.

This is one of the best games I ever played in my life, and I play a lot of games, both modern and retro, especially the latter. In case you don’t know, this is a Metroidvania, love or hate that designation, it’s very appropriate to describe this game as such. First, let me tell you that the controls are outstanding, they are tight and precise. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous, the music is mesmerizing, the lore is interesting and mysterious, the characters are memorable and likeable, the stages are unique, man, I could go on and on about this game and it still wouldn’t do it justice. It can be challenging in the later part of the game and I say that absolutely as a compliment, I hate boring, easy hand-holding games. Team Cherry knocked this one out of the park, absolutely.
I liked this game so much, that I bought it twice, as the first time I had purchased it digitally and it was so special to me that I bought it again when it came out in physical form, as I just had to have it in my hands and shelf. I bought the Switch version and it run excellently, not problems with loading and slowdowns on the console like Little Nightmares, Mark of the Ninja or Bloodstained. Absolutely buy and play this game, it is without any equivocation a masterpiece. I can hardly wait for the sequel, I immediately feel happy just thinking that we will experience more of this wonderful universe. Bravo, Team Cherry.

Gioco davvero carino e immersivo, colonna sonora spettacolare, sfondi e ambientazioni suggestivi. Sulla switch gira molto bene sia in dock che portable, l’unica pecca che se volete giocarci all’aria aperta in una giornata soleggiata, con il riverbero dello schermo switch, gli sfondi scuri del gioco, non vedrete quasi nulla e sar un impresa ardua giocarci. Per il resto un ottimo acquisto sulla console anche per la presenza dei dlc, che su PC dovrete acquistare separatamente.

I literally spent 100s of hours with this game… multiple playthroughs, finding all the secrets, then watching walkthroughs to get that last secret. Such a joy to play and discover, i cant believe all this content was made by 3 people. If you have any interest in 2D games… this is a must have! You will not regret it.

When this first came out, I was not impressed nor bothered by the mechanics, art style or gameplay… After the youtube algorithm introduced me to fireb0rn and other hollow knight enthusiasts, I became more interested in the actual game.
What you will be in for is a challenging, sometimes infuriating game that immerses you in a strange, dark story.
It is not an easy game and your reflexes need to be on point if you want to complete 112%. For those without the capacity for quick response time, whilst you may be able to sneak through the core story, you won’t be able to get full satisfaction.
The main story is quite interesting and the side plots can take you through a range of emotions.
I have spent over 50 hours (working through radiant boss dlc) playing the game. I did not expect to get so much out of the game.
Looking forward to the sequel starring a great NPC.
Best Metroidvania ever?
What a brilliant game this is. This is my third time buying Hollow Knight having already got it on PC and PS4. It feels like ripping off the developers considering the price they sell it for. Hollow Knight has easily entered into my top 5 games of all time, maybe #1 when I really think about it. It’s a 2D action platformer in the Metroidvania genre, and it is the perfect example of what a Metroidvania is and should be. Other than some bugs here and there (that most people won’t encounter anyway), this is nearly a perfect game with beautiful hand drawn art and a great sound track to go with it’s brilliant, addictive gameplay.
Phenomenal game, must-buy for Switch
Was recommended this game by a friend. Absolutely hated it the first time I played it (got hopelessly lost and kept losing to a random “boss”). Tried it again a second time and fell in love! The world is immersive and a joy to explore, you get this excited fuzzy feeling when you discover new areas and beat hard bosses. The in-game characters and various areas have lots of personality. This game is hard as heck, but once you beat that part you’re stuck on, it’s difficult to put the controller down..

A deeply intricate, elegant and immersive game
I bought this for my son (10) as an alternative to the FPS/immersive world games he has been playing.
He was absolutely hooked. He doesn’t get a huge amount of game time a week, but he was completely immersed in the world, and marvelled at the depth of thought and clever twists within it.
It took him over a month to finish it, and he still raves about it.
I strongly recommend this as an alternative to Fortnite/Overwatch/Minecraft experiences.

Mi regalarono questo fantastico gioco per pc, ma ahim, il mio portatile non era in grado di farlo girare come si deve. Cos ho deciso di acquistarlo per Switch (data la console regalatami al compleanno) e finalmente me lo sono potuta godere appieno. Ancora non l’ho finito, mi mancano proprio alle battute finali, ma questo gioco merita. Merita davvero tanto. Se siete appassionati del genere non esitate e compratelo.

Great game, absolutely fantastic… basically have just been playing it for a month non stop… the only reason I give this 4 stars and not 5 is because my copy was in French , doesn’t affect game play as I can choose the language, but I now have a french game manual…
Spent a summer in lockdown playing this gem of a game. I bought it after the premise of a Soulslike Metroidvania lured me in, so of course I had a strong suspicion I was going to enjoy this.
‘Enjoy’ is an understatement.
I was captivated for months by Hollow Knight. I hunted down every boss, catalogued every enemy, collected every upgrade and item it had. I was besotted by every aspect of this game, from the artwork, the animation, the music and sound design to the carefully planted lore, the intricate world, the charming NPCs, the tight gameplay, the sheer FEEL of every facet. Hollow Knight excels in every area it touches upon, and I was genuinely sorry to defeat the final boss, and finish the game.
When I was approaching the end of my time in Hallownest, scouring old areas for missed collectables, I got to thinking: does this game have any flaws?
I can truthfully say, in my humble opinion, it does not. This is, for me, a 10/10 game, and believe me when I say I don’t make that claim lightly.
If you’ve played a Soulslike or a Metroidvania before, you’ll already know if you’ll like this kind of video game. Hollow Knight is a delight in every factor you’d associate with the likes of Dark Souls or Metroid, and yet its presentation guarantees that you haven’t played anything quite like this before.
If you haven’t played a game like this before, this is a perfect place to start. HK is a painstakingly constructed world of interconnected areas, filled with secrets and shortcuts you’ll access later when you acquire new abilities. HK is a tough-but-fair experience that rewards careful approaches and punishes sloppiness and impatience; yet for all the challenges it presented me with, I never once felt that any were beyond my abilities. HK is a mountain that implores you to climb it: you keep climbing, assured that you can reach the summit.
The only drawback to choosing this one is that it’s all downhill from Hollow Knight 😛
Finally, the price: worth every penny, I would say. My first playthrough lasted about 95 hours, by the end of which I had a new favourite game, so I certainly got my money’s worth!

A must have game on switch.
Such an incredible game in so many ways. The art style, the music, the gameplay. Everything is perfected to Team Cherry’s vision. And it’s so nice to have a game produced with an actual manual (and a map!). Miss the days when it was standard with any game. A little pricey compared to what you pay for it digitally but if you are physical collector then I would definitely recommend this over the digital version anyday.
The game is great. I love playing it so much that I bought a second one for a family member. Enough said, just buy it.

Avevo questo gioco nella mia lista desideri del nintendo e-shop da mesi, ma dopo aver scoperto l’esistenza della versione fisica non ho potuto resistere. Arriva con una bellissima copertina reversibile, un manuale di istruzioni e una mappa di Hollownest. Il tutto pur essendo in inglese, nel gioco possibile impostare l’italiano. Per quanto riguarda il gioco, sono ancora agli inizi, ma sono gi rimasta affascinata dalla grafica, dai colori, dalla musica e da tutto quello che si cela dietro la trama. Lo consiglio vivamente. Inoltre, sapevo dell’esistenza di due versioni di stampa del gioco: una errata, dove vi erano solo 3 dlc nella cartuccia (il quarto bisognava scaricarlo) e quella esatta in cui i 4 dlc erano gi all’interno della cartuccia. Questa differenza di stampa era nota dal retro della copertina: quella esatta, ovvero quella che mi arrivata, ha una delle miniature (quella pi a destra) con colori dorati. In quella errata, al posto di quella miniatura vi l’immagine di un combattimento su di un ponte con colori bluastri.

When I was young I was not very good at games like this Mario and others. This game is challenging and fun. I love the art. Battles can be overwhelming at times. YouTube was my hero with this game.
Premire chose le jeu est livr avec un livret ainsi qu’une carte du jeux, ce qui est plutt pratique.
Quand on lance le jeu on se dit, a va tre easy, effectivement, les premiers ennemis sont vraiment facile tuer, donc on ne prend pas garde soit. Malheureusement ou heureusement selon les personnes, a devient rapidement plus difficile de tuer les ennemis et et je ne parle pas des bosses de niveaux, mais ce n’est pas insurmontable.
Dans ce jeux quand on perd on retourne un Check Point qui dans ce jeux sont des bancs que l’on trouve certains endroits et qui permettent de se reposer et aussi de sauvegarder. Le problme, c’est qu’il n’y en a pas tant que a.
Le cot positif :
C’est un jeux original, avec une ambiance toute particulire, au dbut on aurait tendance trouver a plutt relaxant, mais a devient vite anxiogne (je ne sais pas si c’est vraiment le bon mot).
Le cot Ngatif :
J’ai t agac car quand vous tuez les ennemis d’un tableau, il rapparaisse si vous revenez sur ce mme tableau, comme si vous n’tiez jamais venu, je trouve a vraiment irraliste (ce n’est pas le cas pour les bosses), comme si le jeu n’avait pas d’IA (intelligence artificiel), a rend le jeux un peu agaant.
Dans l’ensemble c’est un bon jeux, qui pour certaines personnes pourrait tre un peu laant, mais il faut persvrer, jouer avec la carte… et surtout ne pas penser que le jeux est facile, car le dbut est un peu trompeur.
Graphiquement c’est beau mais pas exceptionnel, on y joue surtout pour l’ambiance ainsi que son originalit.

Best Metroidvania full stop, beats the previous reigning champion Symphony of the Night by a long shot. There are so many games on Switch, it can be difficult to gauge which is good. But Hollow Knight is a game you need in your library.
If your lucky once in a generation a game comes along that blows you away in every aspect possible. This, for me, is that game. I think that this game is actually perfect in every way that I would measure a game. Graphics, sounds, gameplay, style, story, value. I would put all of these as 10/10 and then some.
Graphics and Style – They are hand drawn and somewhat simple but with an art style that is consistent throughout the world. Each area is different but you truly get the feeling that they all belong to the same connected world. When travelling from one region to another you will sometimes notice subtle notes of the style of the area you are traversing into. The colours in the game in some areas pop out at you to represent the lush growth or are dark and sinister, with weird creatures moving about just out of the main play area, or majestic city areas with huge backdrops. There really are some breathtaking areas in the game.
Sounds – Again, they are perfect for me. Every area, again, is different but with the same feel running through to boost that immersion into a living breathing world. The music itself is fantastic albeit melancholic but I could still just listen to the music for hours and be happy. The game sounds consist of various subtle noises that reflect the area that you are in, and one of the first things you need to do when you reach a new area is to listen out for one of the NPC characters humming away to himself for when you find this character you can purchase his map of the area. Most of the NPCs that talk to you sound unique with their gibberish voices which again adds another layer to the already rich and varied world.
Gameplay – The game is a metroidvania, meaning it takes heavy inspiration from both Metroid and Castlevania games. You will find yourself exploring a huge 2D game world set in a bug society. To begin with you will have next to no equipment and low health but as you explore you unlock more items that will help you explore further and further into the map. The first section of the game is fairly linear upto a point and then the game really opens up allowing you to travel freely to various different regions. You will find a vast variety of different enemies in your travels and will have to learn their attack patterns to effectively take them down, luckily the controls are tight and responsive so when you do get hit it usually is the players fault and not due to unfairness, saying that the game is still hard as nails! The boss battles, of which there are loads, pit you against harder than normal enemies that can zip along the stage with a huge variety of signature moves to remember. Upon defeating the bosses you will be rewarded with access to another area or an essential new ability for the most part. There are, however, a large amount of bosses that are optional and don’t need to be defeated to get any of the endings. With one of the latest updates to the game you get the ability to fight any boss that you have already encountered and also more difficult versions of them, this is not for the faint hearted as they do get very difficult very quickly.
Story – The protagonist is silent but most of the NPC’s you’ll meet in the game will talk to you and its through these and other devices that you can slowly out together the lore of the world and the overall story of what is going on. For me the story was so captivating and had a definite sadness to it. The story is of a single small bug that is going into the vast world of Hallownest on a kinda journey of self discovery. It’s the kind of game where the story develops around you and as such I’m not going into detail here with it.
Value – Here’s the crazy part. The digital version of the game is less than 20. I think when I bought it on the eshop it was 14.99 on day of release and for that price you get all the main game and all the DLC’s that have become available. I don’t know the names of them all but each one added significant amounts of gameplay. I think there were 4 with the final one adding the afore mentioned boss battle mode. When I’m judging a game on value I’m usually happy if I get a pound per hour played, so far I am over 80 hours of playing the game. I’ve no where near finished all the challenges that are available and haven’t even attempted the harder difficulty mode which effectively gives you just 1 life to finish the game. I felt that so much love had gone into this game that I would have to buy the physical version as well. The collectors edition in itself is a work of beauty but even the standard release includes a manual and map (I believe) and as such adds to the value of the physical release.
All in all this is simply put my favourite game of this generation. There are only 2 other games that I rate as highly as this and there is some nostalgia with both of them (although Eternal Darkness and Secret of Mana are still both amazing games!!!) There is a sequel due to be released this year that was originally intended to be DLC for this game but got too big so it will be a stand alone game. I’m hoping that this is somewhere near as good as the original. I have included photos of my Collectors Edition and a 3D printed and painted version of the silent Protagonist.

Brilliant! It’s as simple that. One of the best games I have played in a long time! So far I have put over 40 hours into the game and I still haven’t finished the game. Do yourself a favour and if you like metroidvania games, then get this as soon as possible!
This is a lovely videogame if you’re passionate about platform games. Agility in your fingers and some great timing is something you’ll develop. I love the music and the little cute characters you find on the way. It seems a bit gothic but in a cute way.
I dont have time so I prefer having some time on this game as a stress relief rather than play long RPGs or shooting games. This is great if you dont have much time during the week.
Controls are very simple but as I said, you need quick reflexes and control. Quite fun to play!

Bought this for my son for his Birthday and he is still playing it. Compared to other games that get completed very quickly, Hollow Knight goes on forever so is well worth the money!

What can i say this is a beautiful 2d game and i highly recommend it to anyone who likes these type of game.

I loved this game. It was my GOTY on Switch, and that was in a year when I played both BOTW and Mario Odyssey. I was so engrossed I couldn’t stop playing it. It has a lovely art style and a perfect melancholy atmosphere matched by a beautiful soundtrack. Really wonderful stuff.
Without doubt, one of my favourite games of all time. A vast, atmospheric, detailed world to explore. Lots of secrets, different abilities and upgrades to discover. Plenty of challenging platforming and a huge variety of enemies and bosses, requiring skill and often persistence to defeat. The story is deep and cryptic and the characters you meet are unique and interesting. I love the art style, the haunting music and the sense of progression, as you come to learn the worldmap and master the enemies and controls. Not to mention all the DLC is included, adding countless more hours of gameplay to an already large game. Team Cherry have lovingly crafted an intricate, expansive world with it’s own distinctive and intriguing aesthetic and lore. A true masterpiece and a must play! I can’t wait for the sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong.
Wow, just wow. If you’re up for a challenge and enjoy rogue like Castlvevania/Metroid (Metroidvania) style, this is a MUST play.
