We have 2 side access paths to the rear of our property. I did not want to put gates on but the dogs who are now 4 just started to wander to the front where we have an access road. It’s not busy but we do get cars coming down. The alarms we to alert us if the had wandered so had to instal them much lower than the suggested height. They still work fine and have now been in for a month or so. A happy side effect is that the dogs recognise the tone on the alarm box and have now started to self correct. Added bonus. Would buy again. Hope this helps someone

Not had them long enough to know battery life, otherwise easy to install.

If anything a little too sensitive, so bear In mind when positioning.

Reluctant at first to purchase a cheaper version. Our last one cost over 300 from FM Electronics which lasted for over 20 years. Moved and brought another one for the same cost and it constantly failed, due to an upgrade, so an alternative product was sought.

I didn’t adjust any settings. I simply installed the sensor one metre above the ground and plugged the receiver in and that was it.

Once screwed on the wooden post, after a couple of days, I adjusted the sensor and tilted it upwards a little, without unscrewing, as the neighbours cat and fox set it off. Now, perfect.

It’s cheap, I am hoping it will last. Purchased the insurance recommended by Amazon for a little over 5 for all risks insurance, so I now have a top of the range insurance backed warranty should it fail after 12 months.

I don’t believe the sensor range is as good as it states. Seems to be around 8 meters in my experience but as I had a spare then I can catch the other side of my drive with a different sensor so no big issue. One thing though in is that when on full sensitivity the units do trigger when large or fast vehicles go past even though they are not in line of sight of the sensors so needed to turn down
Just thought i’d update 1 year on. Battery last really well 1 sensor has just run down after 1 year. This is indicated by the receiver constantly producing a tone for the sensor in questio

I have used a number of different ‘gate/ driveway alarm over the years and this is the best by far in terms of build quality, easy of use, and range.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSo I wanted a wireless trip solution for in case anyone decided to have a go at stealing my motorbike, this product appeared to solve my problem, and solve it, it did 🙂

It did take some setting up finding out where the PIR beam would break to give me a nice 180 angle of motion detection.

Unfortunately for my application and the angle I needed the units themselves would not pan down enough to cover my bike. I thought about this for a while and decided some brackets for a custom install was the solution.

I went to B&Q got some simple L shaped aluminium brackets and installed them where I needed them.

You get a control box which is battery backed up and also powered by the mains. This was good for me because if a would be thief decided to kill the power to my flat in the middle of the night, which would be easy enough by flipping the switch in my out door electric box, this unit will still function with the batteries I have in it, brilliant!

I have yet to hear the ding-dong of someone getting close to my bike late at night, it will happen but I have a nice aluminium baseball bat next to my front door for when it does 😉

So lots I like about this product, the battery back up, the sensitivity, the LED notification of low battery warning on the control box, however what I don’t like is the colour, I don’t like the fact I had to fabricate brackets at much more cost to fit these, I really don’t like the audible bing-bong tone it makes when triggered, and I am worried about radio frequency radiation from this unit being so close to my head on my bedside table through the night.

In summary, if you want a sensitive, PIR alarm system, for hundred quid, this isn’t bad at all.

    Good! But buy some brackets.
